Had hvac technician come out to perform hvac tuneup. He proceeded to tell me my 7 year old gaspack unit heat exchanger was all rusted and had holes in it and was most likely dumping carbon monoxide into my vents and it could kill us. Told me that he legally had to shutoff the gas supply to the unit as it was dangerous. Quoted me ballpark figures of $5k to replace the heat exchanger or even better to replace the entire unit at a cost of $9k-$15k! I immediately called my prior service company and them come out and inspect the unit the next business day. They pulled the blower motor and showed me a very shiny heat exchanger that was in perfect shape. The thing the Preferred technician was showing me was the burner, not the heat exchanger! My prior technician also informed me my unit is still under warranty and the heat exchanger has a 20 year parts warranty so I would only have to pay $500 labor charge to replace it if it was bad. If feel like Preferred Home Services are dishonest and use scare tactics to upsell their unknowing customers on unnecessary repairs and replacements. Their technician, Thomas Partain, came and assessed the situation. He then brought in the needed piece of equipment, did his job, and fixed my problem, all at the advertised price. Hi. Preferred home services came to my home this month. Austin Hinderson wrote me us a quote to install a new gas line to my kitchen so that I could install a new kitchen gas stove instead of my electric stove. It was quite a chore since the existing gas line was upstairs in the attic. We have a two-story house. He gave me a price that I accepted thinking it was an easy job. Upon coming out to complete the job, other problems were discovered, and the job was more difficult than previously believed. There was no problem on my part, and the guys handled it like pro's. The had a three-man crew, Austin, Gabe Clevenger, and Alec Moore, whom all worked together to complete the job in one long day. I am having Preferred coming back to inspect mt heating and air conditioning at the beginning of next month,. These guys were so nice and polite the whole time while they were here. Do Not Waste Your Money!! We needed a toilet fixed. It was horrible service, start to finish. Firstly, the jerk who came out and started the scam- I mean the estimate- underestimated it by thousands of dollars. After more than 2weeks of these guys coming in and out and leaving my home a mess for me to clean, I still don't have a working front toilet, my sink and shower are looking like a trailer (which they assured me was "what everybody wants now"), and my water tastes like the glue they used even a month later. I dont have the before/after pictures i was promised, the acces panels they charged me for are completely worthless, and I have to find someone Else to finish all the crap they didn't. Service and professionalism was great The technician was very helpful we didn't get the discount rate $58 was told that needed to add additional charge which costed $260.00 wasn't prepared to pay that amount we had to adjust our other bills to make the payment. We needed our AC unit repaired before spring just had purchased hour until in 2020 and replaced the inside wall unit that adjusts by cellphone . We had called a different plumbing company for a leak from our water heater. Over the phone I was told it would either be a valve ($375) or we needed a new water heater ($1,950). When the plumber arrived no diagnostics were performed and the valve was replaced. The water heater still leaked. I called the company and was told I needed a new water heater. They would give me 10% off the $1,950 quoted. Thankfully I called Preferred Home Services! Diagnostics were done. They found our water pressure was extremely high. They replaced the expansion tank and the PRV at the street. No leaks! If I had gone with the previous company I would have still needed the expansion tank and PRV replaced on top of a new water heater. I recommend them and would use again. I'm confident if something fails, they would stand behind their work. read more

Will Never use this company again! Had a new Hvac installed. Cost a fortune! Told me I would have a free year of Maintenance. One month later I noticed they billed my credit card for this free(??) service. I called them about it so they removed the charge! Seven months after the installation the new unit wasn't working correctly, so I called them and they told me i would be charged for the repair!! We had Chris Davis come out shortly after we moved in to the home for an AC inspection and adding a few upgrades to our unit. We had been getting an error that turned out to be due to wiring in the attic not being set and capped properly. He spent quite a bit of time in our attic fixing all the wires instead of just the one causing the lose connection and subsequent error. 1 year later and everything is running smoothly. Decided to give this new business a try for a leak in ceiling I had coming from my upstairs bathroom onto counter of my downstairs bathroom sink. The technician arrived close to the time that the dispatcher told me, so I'll still consider it on time. The technician was friendly and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and he was able to resolve it in a fair amount of time. He cleaned up a after himself and disposed of trash. He explained the repair process and pricing thoroughly and even offered me a membership that would save me 15% off services plus other annual checks on HVAC, etc which I declined at this time. Called for water a leak. It was a 3 hour job and the parts would have cost around $10. They gave me an estimate of $2500. That is a labor cost of $825 an hour. Standard rate for a plumber is around $100 to $150 an hour. Sorry but I don't trust this company. read more

I called for pipe leak repair. The leak was in the pipe connected to the outside hose bib. I call for a technician to come out. The office personel were very friendly and professional. They had a technician out within an hour of calling. When the tech arrived he looked at the hose bib, did not touch anything, he did not go under my house to even determine where the leak was coming from. He gave me 3 quotes. 1.Replace the hose bib and pipe, disconnect and have no hose bib at all or disconnect and install another one in a different location. He gave me a price range of $363-$691 depending which option I choose. Thankfully, I called a different company they came out went under my house located the leak and quoted me $175 to repair the pipe and replace the hose bib. read more

Technician arrives and tells me the tank needs to be pumped. No duh! Gives an estimate for a $1000 and some other company they give the referral to will be in touch on Monday. My neighbor was using their services and their trucks were blocking my driveway. I told the guy that he couldn't block my driveaway so he moved his truck. I return home and pull into my driveway and no sooner as I open my car door to get out of my car their driver pull up behind me and block my driveway. I told the guy that he couldn't block my driveway and he said it would only be 5 minutes, I said 'no'. I know that 5 minutes will turn into 1 hour easily. Then guy number two walks up behind me and stands in front and says, "Did you hear what he said, it'll only be 5 minutes?". I turned to him and asked, "Did you hear what I said...don't block my driveway." I proceeded to tell him that it's illegal to block a homeowner's driveway and I can have their truck towed and or ticketed. To make a long story short these guys were rude and hostile. Blocking someone's driveway is inconsiderate, especially if the person's profession requires them to be on-call ( nurse, doctor etc.) and they have to leave at a moments notice.
