I've used Palmetto Pools & Spas twice in the past month for some urgent repairs…read more First one was to replace the multiport valve on the Hayward filter. It was worn and I could no longer press the lever down to rotate the valve for drainage or waste-out. It was right before a big storm and I was worried that I would be unable to drain the pool if needed, due to the rain. Dan came out within a couple days to replace the valve assembly. Reasonable price. The second repair was the pump motor. The day before the big snow storm, the motor started making a terrible noise and I was worried it was about to seize up. With the deep freeze happening, it was imperative that I get the motor replaced quickly. Dan was able to come out right after the snow. I was lucky that the original motor held out through the freeze. It all worked out fine. Dan was knowledgeable about the pool equipment, friendly, and nice to deal with. Will use them again the next time I need a repair.

We had an awful experience with Palmetto Pools. From the start, their service was riddled with…read moreproblems. We contacted the owner, Dan, several times, but all we got were excuses. He never came out to inspect the pool personally. Instead, we had to take samples to a nearby pool supply store, where we consistently encountered low chemical levels. Whenever we raised issues, we were told it was our equipment and to call our builder. We did, and it wasn't the equipment. Our builder even came out to fix other issues that Palmetto wouldn't handle, like a liner that had come out of the track. We sent photos and videos of the problems, such as algae starting in our pool. In response, we were told that if we wanted it cleaned, there would be an extra charge. We already pay over $300 a month, so an additional charge for algae in the skimmer basket made no sense. Almost a 1/2 year- we did give them a chance. I have enclosed photos of the algae and what they left our system. In summary, promises were made but never kept. We've learned our lesson and moved on to another pool company, hoping for better service. Amy

We had Steve Smith of Atlantis Pools build a gunite pool in our backyard this past summer (2016)…read more We cannot say enough good about Steve, the quality of the pool, his attentiveness to detail, his communication with us during every step of the way, and his dedication to us and his work. From the first time we met with Steve he was very easy to speak with and when he left he had answered all our questions. During the project, Steve kept us up-to-date every few days as to what his crew will be doing next. We were never left in the dark or felt like we didn't know what was going on. The other thing that really impressed us and gave us a sense of peace, is that Steve is ON THE JOB! He is not one of those contractors that contracts different phases of the job out and leaves it up to the subs to do a good job. Steve is there and is METICULOUS and expects and demands his workers to be as well. We have dealt with many different contractors over the years and we have to say without a doubt, that Steve is THE BEST!! We HIGHLY recommend him if you are looking to install a beautiful custom pool in your yard.

Update: After being contacted by someone representing Sweetwater Pools I'm happy to update my…read morereview. Props to business owners who take the time to monitor and manage their online reputation. Sweetwater did, in the end, send the boss down to monitor the pool renovation (to the best of my knowledge), they also purchased the services of a local food truck for a neighborhood event, and extended the pool season at no extra charge. Their pool monitors were always courteous and pleasant. I'm sure Sweetwater Pools efforts to rectify a negative situation resulted in the HOA retaining Sweetwater Pools services. See you next year at the pool!
