The food was very fresh and I love that all the combos come with the miso soup. The restaurant is very small and quaint and hidden, but the service is great. It's perfect for dates or solo lunches. I enjoy my Nigiri, but I wouldn't probably get a roll next time. The spicy tuna roll was really good and I can tell they used wasabi in the roll. The fish on the nigiri was fresh and tasty, but I wish they offered a seared fish option. Either way a great meal for the price and I will be back.

HANDS DOWN, THE best sushi spot in Pompano Beach!! This is NOT up for debate!! Recently moving to the area, I was happy to find Pompano Sushi. My sister and I decided to dine in on a Friday evening and it wasn't too busy. We decided on a variety of rolls, since it was our first time here. We opted for: Big Boss, Scarlett, Paradise and the Beauty and the Beast rolls. Baybeeeee, every one of the rolls were delicious!! If you are a fan of sushi and want the best one, come to Pompano Sushi. You can dine in or take out. Reasonable pricing and you cannot put a price on quality!! Friendly staff and comfy place to dine in.

Another great dinner here. I was reminded last night that this is their 1 year anniversary. Wow time flies... feels like just yesterday I walked through the front door for the first time. Love seeing hard working people succeed. Every time I walk through the doors there's something new. Tony was great through the holidays. We used him to creat some really spectacular platters.

Stopped in for dinner a second time. The place is a work in progress, making room for additional seating and creating a little more ambiance. Dinner was great, beginning with the house salad, which was a terrific starter. We then enjoyed a Big Boss Roll and a Polar Bear Roll, before the Volcano arrived. Everything was freshly prepared, tasty and wonderful. We were served by POPPY the robotic server. Cute touch.

I love this place! My new sushi spot. First it's super close to my house. It's very fresh and affordable. The presentation was lovely and we ate everything. Very small space but they are putting out some great sushi! Waitresses was super friendly.

was looking for a snack and ran into this spot. we ordered various different kinds of sushi since we were fairly a large group. there was only one person working and for sure we thought there would be a wait, but nope. all the food came out in decent time.

Quite a quiet establishment that offers poke bowls, sushi & sashimi, lunch specials, appetizers, combo platters, and house special rolls...all made fresh. Prices for the items range from $4 - $23. There was only one male, who was friendly when I greeted him, behind the counter. I asked for a menu as it was my first time at the business. Overlooking the menu while the male was preparing a sushi platter, I decided to order a California roll and fried chicken gyoza. The gyoza was yummy. Dough was crisp lightly with chicken filling. The California roll was made fresh and was also yummy. Thoroughly satisfied. I'm not sure what else on the menu to try cause I'm not big on eating raw fish. I guess whenever I get the taste for my usual roll again I know where to go

We came here first on Monday only to find the hours were changed from what was originally listed on Yelp's site. And they were closed. So, we decided to try again on Tuesday. There are only two booths and a few tables inside. Plus there is the small sushi counter. They seemed to be doing more takeout than dine in. They are newly opened and just getting their act together. Service is pleasant and they are welcoming. There's a lot of potential here for the future. We decided to dine in. They have several lunch specials and we both chose one of these. It would be nice if they had a special that was more sushi centered for those that don't want a "cooked" meal. I ordered their grilled salmon and he got their teriyaki salmon lunch special. The salmon isn't really "grilled" per se, but it is cooked. It's placed on top of a mound of white rice. The only difference between the two is that his salmon was drizzled with teriyaki sauce. Also on the plate is one steamed dumpling/gyoza, a bit of seaweed salad, and a bit of regular salad with no dressing, as well as a california type roll. The meal was fine and enough to satisfy, but not great. When I asked for salad dressing -- they don't have one. I suggested ginger dressing -- imagining the carroty ginger we usually get at Japanese restaurants, and they made one up for us. It was their spicy mayo sauce with ginger slices added in. On the table is soy sauce, eel sauce, and spicy mayo to add to your meals. We used each of these liberally. I'm glad we came to check them out. As I said, there's potential here. I think I'll wait a bit until they get settled to check them out again. And next time, I'll order one of their sushi dishes.

Cozy neighborhood sushi place with the most amazing recipes/taste but also affordable prices! I don't know where to start but you can't go wrong at Pompano Sushi. We had the pleasure to chat with the owner Tony and he guided us through his specialties (I highly recommend the volcano roll). When we receive our rolls I just about fell over with the amount of food. The portions were so generous! And the taste??? Wow! Fresh and original! These rolls popped! If you have a few extra minutes for good sushi --- give Tony and Pompano Sushi a try.

Local businesses with the owner making the sushi himself. Cute whole in the wall vibe with great prices for nigiri and other sushi.

I feel like with Pompano Sushi I've been let into a secret club before the news gets out. This is like finding Larb a few years ago before it hit its iconic level it's at now. Pompano Sushi is pretty unassuming, sat in a strip mall in an area that's not super renowned for its eateries. First impressions are... not going to blow you away we'll say, a few regular tables and a long bar style table - it's clear this isn't the priority and hey, if it means not having to have spent a ton of money, why not? Every other impression is great. Everyone you deal with is absolutely lovely, and then the quality of the sushi that comes out is fantastic. Pre-Covid prices in a post-covid world, for the rolls we got? Zero complaints at all. The presentation was lovely, the taste even better. We ordered 6 rolls between three people and we were full and very satisfied, and definitely plan to return.

Delicious. The sushi is fresh and tasty. I tried the Scarlett roll which was a great choice. The menu is full of various rolls and entrees for everyone in your party. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The prices are extremely fair as well. Will definitely be back.

Pompano Sushi. New budget-style sushi joint 1415 SW 26th Ave Pompano Beach, FL 33069. Close to Coconut Creek border. Owned by a nice Burmese guy named Tony. Primarily takeout oriented with American style rolls, many "spicy" options. Very Reasonably priced. On a Monday, he was out of a lot of stuff, but his standard fish list is not bad for a downscale place. If I lived closer, I'd order from it.

I have been wanting to try this spot for a while so I'm glad we took a walk over from the gallery. The inside is pretty tight quarters, but for me that adds to the experience. Food and service were amazing! I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen (my all-time fave) with medium spice & a Sapporo beer. The broth was perfect, the Chashu pork was tender and they give you the perfect amount of noodles with the option to add more, of course. The broth cleared out any congestion i had leftover from our cold front! Definitely going spicier next time I dine in. About 9 stools where you watch the chef prepare your ramen and eat at a counter. No fuss interior and service. If you prefer a quiet meal, this place is ideal. We ordered: - Oxtail Ramen which was very unique and tasty (we picked medium seasoning). Added bokchoy. Will order again. - Tonkotsu Ramen with added enoki. Not as creamy as I'm use to but you can tell all the ingredients are very fresh. For such a rich dish, I didn't feel heavy later on that night. We usually order extra ramen but didn't have to. The proportions were spot on and enough for a hearty meal. Total tab was around $65 after tip and tax. We came in around 7pm - no wait - and within 30 mins the whole place filled up.

This meal goes in the unexpectedly amazing bucket. I'm a huge ramen fan and imo set the bar pretty…read morehigh. On this particular Wednesday evening, we stopped by Lauderale Brewery (corresponding review to follow). For those not familiar, Wednesday night is trivia night, which always delivers solid school night entertainment. Lauderale is layed out with a large brewery/warehouse holding seating for around 80 and a length of bar, leading to an outdoor covered patio and stage, with additional seating in the adjacent gazebo area under umbrella picnic tables. I'm mentioning these details, because it was raining this November evening, which may have elevated my experience. After we lost trivia in typical fashion and enjoying countless rounds of my favorite current beer on tap, "Mr. Pickles", I set my eyes on the Kaminari Ramen trailer located between the stage and gazebo areas. There had been steady traffic flow all evening, the 8-10 item menu had a few things crossed off, after running out. For me, that is generally a good sign. To run out of things, usually means alot of people ordered. After quickly browsing the menu, the missing items didn't change my choice. I went straight for the top ramen dish, Tonkotsu. It had all the staples I look for on a rainy night in November. The chef took the time to explain they were out of bean sprouts, and confirmed fresh cabbage was an acceptable substitute. I agreed, she asked where I would be sitting, and told me they would deliver it shortly. I grabbed a picnic table with an umbrella, it was lightly raining, and the live band was starting their first set. A couple songs later, my ramen masterpiece was delivered to Janic Joplin's Piece of My Heart in poetic fashion. I was immediately blown away by the visual presentation. The broth held a creamy appearance, consistent with pork being poached in it during the cooking process. That milky liquid was the perfect backdrop to make the other ingredients pop. One half of a perfectly soft-boiled egg was positioned at twelve o'clock, a small pink star shaped fishcake poked out, followed by sliced green onion, the brightness pink pickled ginger, and fresh cabbage completed the clockwise plating. On the outskirts of the bowl, strips of braised pork and wavy noodles subtly lyed under the broth, peeking out here and there. First taste was just the broth with a couple green onion stowaways. A proper ramen is all about the broth. If you get that wrong, it doesn't matter what else you put in it. It was magnificent . The sweet, sour, bitter salty, umami all hit in perfect symphony. I dropped the spoon, out come the chopsticks, and the vibe leveled up instantly. I snatched a slice of pork, with a few noodles, onion, and a bit of ginger. The pork was perfectly cooked, but that pickled ginger stole the show! I tried to get a couple slivers in every bite from that point forward, switching between pork, fishcake, and soft-boiled egg. I proceeded to devour one of the top three bowls of ramen ever to grace my palate. Each bite better than the last, until only broth remained. Chopsticks retired, back to spoon, and BBB (bye bye broth). To put things in perspective, this may be my longest Yelp review to date, and it is about a single bowl of Ramen. I'm not sure if it was the Pickle sour beer traveling through my veins, the cold November rain (shout out GnR), the substitution of fresh cabbage over bean sprouts, the band as a backdrop, or just plain ol culinary mastery, but whatever it was, this bowl of ramen will not be forgotten. As midnight struck bringing the crowd into Thanksgiving together, I took a minute to be thankful for Lauderale hosting Kaminari, the folks that served me, the chef(s) that prepared the dish, and every person that had a hand in farming and harvesting the 20+ ingredients. Sometimes we take for granted the time and schematics involved in producing one bowl of ramen from a trailer, parked at a brewery, in a marine warehouse district, near Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the eve before Thanksgiving. All my problems seemed a little less problem-ie after taking my last sip from the bowl and swig of Mr. Pickles. I strongly recommend you track them down and have your own enlightened experience.
