I've driven by Hibachi way several times and it wasn't until last Friday that I decided to stop by. I was in the mood for hibachi. I stopped by and I wait my food within 10 minutes! The food was hot, fresh and tasty! I did not get to take a picture as I was so eager to dive in. I ordered 1 chicken hibachi entree and 1 steak hibachi entree- this came with 2 can soda which cost almost $34. That's pretty reasonable this would easily cost me $100 at a big franchise. I'm taking the opportunity to stop by Hibachi Way and check this place out. Located in the Sunshine Plaza, Hibachi Way offers a variety of hibachi cuisine and sushi rolls. They also have appetizers, soups & salads, noodles, and bento boxes. The place wasn't that busy, though people were steadily coming in. I greeted a female employee behind the counter and placed an order for a California roll and a small shrimp bowl with vegetables. I couldn't wait to dig into the food once I received it. The California roll was freshly made and tasty. The shrimp bowl consisted of fried rice and vegetables (broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and onions). The shrimp and vegetables was nicely cooked and seasoned, and the fried rice was cooked to a soft consistency. There was a small container of yum yum sauce in the bag. I was introduced to yum yum sauce at RA Sushi Bar when I ordered shrimp fried rice, and I didn't like the taste of the sauce. Surprisingly, Hibachi Way's yum yum sauce wasn't that bad. There was a bit of tanginess to it, but I opted out of adding it to the fried rice... I'm accustomed to either soy or duck sauce. Overall the food was enjoyable. We were at Publix, and in the mood for Chinese food or Jamaican food. That was until we saw a new restaurant we'd knew nothing about--Hibachi Way. More people were coming in and out of Hibachi Way than the the nearby Chinese restaurant and Jamaican restaurant, which share the same plaza! That was definitely a good sign! Inside is clean and has a Japanese theme. The place is geared towards take out, as there are few tables by the front door. There is a fascinating display on the wall to describe a variety of foods served. The young lady at the front counter was very pleasant, and happily took our order. Wait time was minimal. Once my order number was ready, a woman who seemed in charge of staff, verified everything went well with my order. Yes. It did. I collected my order and soda. Hibachi Way has a wide choice of menu options. But the dish that stole the show for us was the Spicy Chicken (white meat). The food was placed so neatly in the container that it was almost a crime to eat it! The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the rice was the same. No issues with the menu prices. Judging by the food quality, taste, and service, that same dish would've been more expensive in a mall food court, and a bank breaker at a large Japanese restaurant. I haven't honestly found good Hibachi since I lived in Orlando but this definitely is one I will try again and recommend. Their yum yum sauce taste exactly like my favorite spot in Orlando called Kobe's. I got the chicken and steak entree which comes with either a soup, soda or another option but I just opted for the soda. The portion lasted me for dinner and the lunch which I appreciated. I also read about their Tasty roll (cooked sushi) which was worth it and pieces were large (a lot of rice but still very good). Veggies in the hibachi were fresh and I added a scrambled egg in my rice. I liked how you can opt to add either fried or scrambled eggs. It is quick service but they have chairs and tables in case you want to eat there. We were craving Benihana but didn't feel like going through the process of sitting at a hibachi table for food to be cooked. We came across hibachi Way and decided to check it out. I ordered the chicken and steak hibachi which came with fried rice and choice of soup or canned soda. I will say the portions are pretty generous. I could not finish my meal. I would opt for the smaller one next time. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy and tender the steak was! The chicken was just OK. Flavor was good but texture was a little off for me. I ordered the spicy hibachi chicken and it came with fried rice and soup or you can get a canned soda instead of the soup. The chicken could've been more spicy but it was still good. The food was excellent. All of it. We ordered the fried rice with chicken and beef and two specialty sushi rolls; the crunch roll max and the tasty roll. They were both huge rolls , difficult to eat in one bite. The first roll had a good amount of filling in the roll where as the tasty roll did not. Either way they were delicious & we were so full, we had to eat the meals in two sittings. I ordered online, and when I arrived about 20-30mins later the food was still not done (this was on Mother's Day so I understand the delay). I ordered the salmon hibachi meal w/ miso soup instead of clear soup, the chicken yakisoba bowl, and 2 chicken egg rolls. Paid about $43. The amount of food you get for the price paid is pretty damn decent. So if you want some quick-ish hibachi and on the cheaper-ish side.....you should check this place out. You won't be disappointed.
