    Taro tea
    Brenda R.

I noticed Favor Sushi a while back and I hadn't had a chance to visit. I finally was able to come by and give it a try. I was excited to see they had bubble tea in their menu and immediately ordered a taro tea. I also ordered a Tuna roll with brown rice. I don't know if it was because I came during lunch time but, it took forever to get my tea and food ready. There was only one person running the register and serving the tables. It seemed like a very hectic moment for her. The taro tea was just ok, maybe I'm picky since I've had really good boba tea at some other places. The sushi was just ok too. They do give you big portions for a low price, but I was expecting more. This place has so many good reviews, I was disappointed that to me it just seems ok. Perhaps I'll visit again.

Can't believe this place has been open 3 months and we are just finding our about it! It's easy to find if you realize it's behind the Checkers and a couple doors down from the Dunkin' Donuts on the south side of Gateway (and west side of Powerline). The flags announcing their opening are still up. Inside it's pretty basic, but with enough tables to comfortably eat in. With all the companies in the area, however, I imagine their bigger business is takeout. They deliver through grub hub. On the tables are chopsticks and napkins. If you need other utensils, they have plastic ware. We started with a "sushi for wrap". They have 6 varieties. I chose their spring wrap. These are similar to a Thai spring roll in that there's no rice and it's wrapped in rice paper. This roll had lettuce, carrots, cucumber, avocado, cooked shrimp and krab. It was tightly wrapped and came in 2 pieces. The dipping sauce on the side was sweet with a slight kick from the red pepper flakes. It was very good. After that, I had their chicken gyoza. 6 pieces of the potstickers lightly fried and served hot with a soy based dipping sauce. I took half home. We also got to taste their seaweed salad. Very crunchy and refreshing. My husband ordered a spicy salmon roll. The portion was large -- 15 pieces (and only $8.99!). You can opt for white or brown rice. He chose white. In the middle of the roll was raw salmon and cucumber. They served a spicy mayo on the side. There was a lot left over to take home, too. They have bubble teas and juices; salads; 2 types of soup; the wraps, the rolls, Specialty rolls called "delight", poke bowls, and ramen. I'm sure we will be back as they are reasonably priced and in the neighborhood. It's a welcome addition.

Found this place thanks to yelp and I would go back for sure. The was only one person working . Super nice guy . He was the server and the one that made the sushi . Super friendly and even thought he was super busy he didn't look stress x I order a couple sushi rolls and he made them very fast... Seems everyone that was there when I was were regular because knew what they wanted to eat and.. everyone was patience knowing that he was alone but even like that his timing wasn't bad , I been other places that you have to wait a long time and they have a lot people. Also I noticed he was very clean and organized. Changed his gloves every time he did something else . I would come .. is not a fancy place . Close to home and good prices . Sushi was good !

    Tuna roll

While the sushi looked delicious and it was the preparation of the rice was a little weak. My tuna roll would fall apart as soon as I picked it up top dunk it in the soy sauce. This happened on several if not all the pieces. Maybe because of the pandemic they arent making the sushi rice sticky enough to hold together or maybe it was an inexperienced sushi chef I cant determine why the rice was so loose. The freshness of the sushi was on spot. The flavors (I am a tuna lover) were fresher than fresh. I was happy they delivered this with grubhub. It satisfied my sushi craving.

Great spot for sushi. I called in an order for the Spicy California Roll. It had imitation crab meat and avocado. It came with 15 rolls and cost $8.55 total including tax. I arrived 10 minutes after calling in my order and it was ready. The employee was incredibly nice and provided me with extra soy sauce and spicy mayo. I pretty much swallowed all 15 rolls. It was really that good! The spicy California roll tasted very fresh, too. I'll definitely visit again.

Sushi comes out very fast and it's made fresh on the spot! I came her during my lunch break at work and got my food to go. The portions are huge and very decently priced. I paid $9 dollars for a salmon JB roll. It brought 15 pieces and you have the choice of brown or white rice. My rolls brought salmon, avocado and cream cheese inside. They also have bubble tea, which I didn't get to try this time, but I'm definitely looking forward to try next time around. There's vegetarian rolls available as well if you don't eat meat. All in all it's a good sushi place! It has a nice casual atmosphere and the staff was friendly. You can order inside the restaurant and eat there as well if you choose to. I'm definitely coming back. Especially since it's quick.

I am so excited to have found this place! Very inexpensive and large portions. Friendly staff too! Samuel helped us pick some great options and even let us customize our rolls. The mango tea was super refreshing. We got our order to go, and everything was made very quickly and delicious. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this place for anyone looking for fresh quick sushi.

I have been wanting to try this spot for a while so I'm glad we took a walk over from the gallery. The inside is pretty tight quarters, but for me that adds to the experience. Food and service were amazing! I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen (my all-time fave) with medium spice & a Sapporo beer. The broth was perfect, the Chashu pork was tender and they give you the perfect amount of noodles with the option to add more, of course. The broth cleared out any congestion i had leftover from our cold front! Definitely going spicier next time I dine in. About 9 stools where you watch the chef prepare your ramen and eat at a counter. No fuss interior and service. If you prefer a quiet meal, this place is ideal. We ordered: - Oxtail Ramen which was very unique and tasty (we picked medium seasoning). Added bokchoy. Will order again. - Tonkotsu Ramen with added enoki. Not as creamy as I'm use to but you can tell all the ingredients are very fresh. For such a rich dish, I didn't feel heavy later on that night. We usually order extra ramen but didn't have to. The proportions were spot on and enough for a hearty meal. Total tab was around $65 after tip and tax. We came in around 7pm - no wait - and within 30 mins the whole place filled up.

On this particular Wednesday evening, we stopped by Lauderale Brewery (corresponding review to follow). For those not familiar, Wednesday night is trivia night, which always delivers solid school night entertainment. Lauderale is layed out with a large brewery/warehouse holding seating for around 80 and a length of bar, leading to an outdoor covered patio and stage, with additional seating in the adjacent gazebo area under umbrella picnic tables. I'm mentioning these details, because it was raining this November evening, which may have elevated my experience. After we lost trivia in typical fashion and enjoying countless rounds of my favorite current beer on tap, "Mr. Pickles", I set my eyes on the Kaminari Ramen trailer located between the stage and gazebo areas. There had been steady traffic flow all evening, the 8-10 item menu had a few things crossed off, after running out. For me, that is generally a good sign. To run out of things, usually means alot of people ordered. After quickly browsing the menu, the missing items didn't change my choice. I went straight for the top ramen dish, Tonkotsu. It had all the staples I look for on a rainy night in November. The chef took the time to explain they were out of bean sprouts, and confirmed fresh cabbage was an acceptable substitute. I agreed, she asked where I would be sitting, and told me they would deliver it shortly. I grabbed a picnic table with an umbrella, it was lightly raining, and the live band was starting their first set. A couple songs later, my ramen masterpiece was delivered to Janic Joplin's Piece of My Heart in poetic fashion. I was immediately blown away by the visual presentation. The broth held a creamy appearance, consistent with pork being poached in it during the cooking process. That milky liquid was the perfect backdrop to make the other ingredients pop. One half of a perfectly soft-boiled egg was positioned at twelve o'clock, a small pink star shaped fishcake poked out, followed by sliced green onion, the brightness pink pickled ginger, and fresh cabbage completed the clockwise plating. On the outskirts of the bowl, strips of braised pork and wavy noodles subtly lyed under the broth, peeking out here and there. First taste was just the broth with a couple green onion stowaways. A proper ramen is all about the broth. If you get that wrong, it doesn't matter what else you put in it. It was magnificent . The sweet, sour, bitter salty, umami all hit in perfect symphony. I dropped the spoon, out come the chopsticks, and the vibe leveled up instantly. I snatched a slice of pork, with a few noodles, onion, and a bit of ginger. The pork was perfectly cooked, but that pickled ginger stole the show! I tried to get a couple slivers in every bite from that point forward, switching between pork, fishcake, and soft-boiled egg. I proceeded to devour one of the top three bowls of ramen ever to grace my palate. Each bite better than the last, until only broth remained. Chopsticks retired, back to spoon, and BBB (bye bye broth). To put things in perspective, this may be my longest Yelp review to date, and it is about a single bowl of Ramen. I'm not sure if it was the Pickle sour beer traveling through my veins, the cold November rain (shout out GnR), the substitution of fresh cabbage over bean sprouts, the band as a backdrop, or just plain ol culinary mastery, but whatever it was, this bowl of ramen will not be forgotten. As midnight struck bringing the crowd into Thanksgiving together, I took a minute to be thankful for Lauderale hosting Kaminari, the folks that served me, the chef(s) that prepared the dish, and every person that had a hand in farming and harvesting the 20+ ingredients. Sometimes we take for granted the time and schematics involved in producing one bowl of ramen from a trailer, parked at a brewery, in a marine warehouse district, near Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the eve before Thanksgiving. All my problems seemed a little less problem-ie after taking my last sip from the bowl and swig of Mr. Pickles. I strongly recommend you track them down and have your own enlightened experience.
