Worst customer service I have ever seen. Had a reservation for a table outside for our anniversary. Confirmed three different times and was told there would be a table waiting for us and they would take care of us. Arrived and the manager told us we would have to wait at least an hour. Incredibly obnoxious, condescending and rude to my wife. Stay away. Reminded me of the snooty restraurant manager in Ferris bueller. read more

We loved our dinner at Pomeroy! Everything we ordered was great, but the star of the night was the Dover sole. It was extraordinary and generously portioned. The pot de crème was the best version of itself we've ever had. The service was excellent without being fussy. They have an excellent wine list and our server's recommendations were excellent. This has become our new favorite restaurant and have been a half dozen times already. Every time but one the service was exceptional and the food is nothing short of stellar. How exciting - Pomeroy is now open for brunch on the weekends!! A terrific experience with so many delicious menu items, it was hard to decide what to order. For starters, our group had the assorted croissant and bakery items. The pinwheel and danish were quite yummy. The pain au chocolat was a bit of a disappointment - not very flaky. We also had the Avocado Tartine - very fresh and tasty. For our entrees, we each slected something different - the Croque Monsieur, the Breton Crepe, Chicago Crepe, and Le Benedict. All were outstanding. Our guest said the Benedict was the best he's every had. Service was engaging and attentive - we had a delightful experience and look forward to returning to try other items on the menu. read more

Disappointed with brunch at Pomeroy today. Started with a messy pour of coffee that puddled on the saucer. Potatoes looked like they were reheated and left in the oven too long. And the bathroom that I used when I first got to the restaurant was no longer available. I was told I could use the bathrooms up the street behind Starbucks. Packed with a fun energy but food was below average. 3 people ordered the steak, which came over done & I order the chicken. My chicken had soggy fatty skin as if it was sitting already cooked for hours. So much fat on the chicken which caused me to stop eating it. Our waiter didn't check back so I didn't send it back because I didn't want to stop everyone else from eating. Pretty GROSS & too pricey for what we got. read more

We found this place on Yelp! which appeared to be a newer French restaurant in Winnetka, IL. I made a last minute dinner reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Maya answered my call and was so sweet and professional as she took great care of us with a nice private table on the rear patio. The Maitre d greeted us upon our arrival and carried out Maya's notes to perfection. My wife deserved a nice evening out at a classy restaurant. We chose the perfect place. They have a cute intimate streetside patio at the front entrance, but that was popular this evening (next visit!). We were seated and then greeted by our server with 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate our visit. Nice touch! We started with an order of Escargot which were a tad overcooked and underwhelming to be honest. We expected more of a garlic taste. Our entrees made us forget about the Escargot lol. My wife was excited about the Lobster Roll on the menu. Mama wants Lobster? Mama's getting Lobster! I ordered the Summer Corn Risotto. Both were simply delicious! Dessert was Chocolate pot de creme with Brandied cherries and whipped cream, simply decadent. Coffee was exceptional and what you'd expect from this type of restaurant. Prices were reasonable considering the location and gorgeous decor. I've never been to France, but I would guess it was pretty authentic! Thank you for making our wedding anniversary one to remember. First time at Pomeroy. Came in with my wife for her birthday. I made a reservation by phone for the new patio in advanced. When we arrived we were informed our table wasn't ready and could wait at the bar. We were offered to sit inside as an alternative right away, which we decline as our reservation was for outside and it was gorgeous out. Fast forward 50 minutes (and multiple self-prompted check-ins with the host) we were seated. The general manager approached and stated he heard we were frustrated by the wait. He explained that they don't accept reservations for any one area of the restaurant and seating takes place in a first come fashion. He ended by stating he apologized for the miscommunication and would "ensure we were happy" and that "the wait was worth our time". He didn't circle back to us during our meal and didn't comp. any part of our meal (other than a dessert for my wife's birthday which they do for every birthday). He 100% made the impression he would AT LEAST comp. us for the drinks consumed while waiting for our table, if not much more. The upside was the food, atmosphere and our waiter were terrific. Unfortunately, the host and general manager over shadowed the entire evening and spoiled my wife's birthday. My wife brought up the general manager's empty words / promises at the end of the night too and stated she felt they took advantage of us because of our age and friendly/sympathetic demeanor. I don't know if we'll go back. Likely not given its hours after we ate there and I'm still livid about the experience and treatment. read more

Just okay, not great and not terrible. We were a party of 5 and seated outside in the courtyard which was very pretty. I wasn't a fan of the check in process, the man who checked us in never smiled, never welcomed us and barely engaged us. Other than our server, the rest of the employees were not really that friendly. I would also recommend for the manager to visit tables and ask how things are going, it just shows well and makes a restaurant stand out. We are in the suburbs, no need for the snooty vibe, this isn't a Michelin spot Alain Ducasse in Paris. The food was average, it's not the best French food I've ever had but not the worst either. I'll probably go back and order oysters and a cocktail at the bar but not sure I would have a full meal again. read more

Attractive front porch patio on a gorgeous summer evening. Then you enter to a lovely bistro with an oval bar up front and spacious room with tables and booths. We were seated at a semi-circle booth facing the front of the restaurant with a great people-watching view. We also noticed a very large outdoor patio in the back. Next time I will check that out. My friend and I shared everything. Our server, Johnny, was informative, humorous, and very efficient. She ordered a French martini and I had a standard martini with blue cheese olives. No surprise there. We started with escargot. Very traditional and served with bubbling garlic butter and three large crusty pieces of bread. We also ordered the loaf of French bread & butter ($5). Definitely worth it. I ordered the mussels which came with french fries, she ordered the steak frites medium rare. Everything was flavorful, delicious, gorgeous presentation and generous sizes. We splurged on desserts...sabayon-flavored gelato and an apple brûlée-type creation atop pastry. Interesting and pretty. Overall excellent food and dining experience. Definitely want to get back there sooner rather than later. read more

Pomeroy has been one of my favorite restaurants since opening. We had a bday brunch in their Jester Room today and everything was 100 per cent perfect. Food was great, but what Pomeroy gets right more than any other restaurants is their staff. We were lucky to have Marcos and Leti as our servers today. They have been there for many of our other visits and they go above and beyond. Marcos is hilarious and Leti is so sweet and our entire party of over 20 women loved them!!
