Decided to check out downtown Winnetka one morning and needed a cup of coffee to help myself wake up. I was pleased to find a Pete's here since there's so few around. This was definitely a happening spot on a Thursday morning with many folks on their laptops getting work done. I decided to try to the Havana cappuccino and that was delicious. I can imagine it tasting incredible especially when paired with a nice cigar. One of the best surprises was finding out that the coffee shop was actually attached to a bookstore. The nerd in me just loved it! Definitely will come back maybe for some coworking or just to explore the bookstore with a nice cup of coffee. read more

I went to Pete's coffee in Winnetka before my early morning Doctor's appointment. I had ordered a coffee and the vegan wrap. Justin (sorry if I have your name incorrect) told me my wrap was ready while I was preparing my coffee. Unfortunately, the early bird was not so kind to me as I remembered the wrap when I was in Evanston. I called the store and they told me they would reimburse me for the wrap or I could get a new one when I came back in. I drove up and went in the store. I was told my wrap would be ready in 3 minutes. It was hot and delicious. He did not charge me for it as we both had a chuckle about my early morning amnesia. Quaint little coffee shop in the downtown Winnetka area. While my friend and I were here most of the clientele were a bit older but we did see a cute sight of a young man being tutored by a senior. Awwww bridging the generational gap! I love it! I had a matcha green tea latte with skim milk and it was very good. I was actually quite happy that when I ordered this he actually asked me what kind of milk I would like and if I wanted sugar syrup added. I wish SBux would do such a thing instead of just assuming you want every single ounce of fat & sugar they can pack into a drink. My friend and I sat in a couple of comfy chairs....I was slightly grossed out. They need a bit of cleaning! The surface looked just fine but in the cracks of the chairs I saw TONS of crumbs and other random grossness. Ugh. Please give these chairs a deep cleaning. Other than that, I was happy with Peet's Coffee and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere chilling here. read more

I like to have meetings here. The staff are always helpful and the place is clean and bright. If I had any wish it would be for a slightly bigger space and better tables. They are either too small or too big. It's an awkward space but works fine if it isn't too crowded. read more

Update in the time of global pandemic: Peet's seems to be taking precautions seriously. Limited number of customers in at a time, employees masked and behind plastic partition. Fortunately there is a lot of comfortable outdoor seating. What remains the same is the quality of the product, the professionalism and knowledge of the employees, as well as their desire to please. The seasonal offerings are always interesting and delicious. The pricing is in line with other coffee shops in the area. I like that it's in town within walking distance restaurants and shops. Great place to stop in when getting on or off the train. Great place to gather with friends or do some solitary work. read more

Peet's is my most frequented local coffee shop both because it's close and because it's good. For a chain, this location goes above and beyond in terms of service. The employees know me and my family by name and always make us feel very welcome. The hot food and muffins/pastries are better than the competition, and the coffee is far better than the competition. Cappuccino, latte, iced latte, hot chocolate, iced tea... it's all great. The space is a great community gathering spot, and when the weather is good the outdoor seating is perfect for relaxing with your drink and people-watching. They even put out a big bowl of water for your dogs. :) read more

I want to love this Peet's. To start off, I love the location. There's often nice people walking their cute dogs along the street outside, and Peet's is connected to a fantastic bookstore! Winnetka is such a nice place to spend an afternoon. The major failing I see in this Peet's is that I consistently encounter unfriendly or stand-off-ish employees. The atmosphere could be improved by having the baristas do something as simple as asking for the name of the customer to make it more personable. Also, they could be more welcoming. One time my sister asked for a "pup cup" for her puppy and the barista looked at her as if she had never heard the phrase before. She finally gave it -begrudgingly- after another barista encouraged her to. It's moments like that which feel unnecessarily tense. read more

It's just so cute! If I had only one word to describe the new Peet's across from the new Taste On Chestnut restaurant, it would be...cute! This corner location used to be a Caribou. It just seems so full of life now. Brighter with lots of windows and a temperature inside that makes you want to stay. It was quiet tonight with the weather being so frightful outside, but the small crowd was a great mix of students studying, couples hanging and a group of lady friends having a meeting. I tried the new maple coffee drink. The head barista was super sweet and made my order with great pride. It had just enough flavoring to give it an extra kick, and it was foamy delicious! I don't know if the baristas here know me or not, but they sure treat me like I'm a long lost friend when I come in. The coffee is delicious but I'm really into their seasonal drinks. This location is connected to a bookstore that is also 5stars. a great combination. This is a nice, cozy spot to take a book, catch up with friends, or plow through work in a laptop session. Noise level is pretty quiet, but always best to bring headphones. The parking right in front is often full, so the lot close by is usually the best. This is also a nice neighborhood to go for a stroll and check out the local shops. Peet's is a national chain but this location really has a local feel to it. read more

NOT YOUR USUAL SACCHARINE LIBATION I never knew how decadent coffee could taste! I am so used to the usual chain coffee places (which serve their purpose) but I never tasted really rich coffee until I tasted the decaf blend that was freshly pressed. The aroma was amazing and I definitely will return for more! What I love about Peets are their frozen "frio" drinks! Similar to the coffee, they are robustly rich in flavor and frothiness. This wasn't the usual saccharine libation that I am used to getting at popular chain coffee places. My favorite is the green matcha frio (frozen green tea drink)- I loved it so much I had 4 samples! The sandwiches are freshly shipped in daily and they seriously did not taste like coffeehouse food! They also had really good lentil salad- although the I was not personally sold on the orzo (to each their own). Yum yum yum!! I love this place for coffee. Super delicious and not too pricey!! One thing I would've changed is I wish they would've given me more cream cheese. I had a toasted everything bagel with plain cream cheese (their only cream cheese option but I'm bland so that's what I wanted anyway) and it was toasted perfectly just a little dry. I could've asked for more but didn't want to pay for more so here we are. The coffee is delicious though and I definitely would come back for another latte!! read more

This location is amazing! The staff are all super friendly and accommodating! My best friend and I used to live near 2 Peet's locations in the NW suburbs of Buffalo Grove. After a year they both closed down which was one of my saddest days! NO ONE makes a handcrafted latte as great as Peet's! Their standard latte is frothed and the flavor you choose is pumped into the warm espresso. Then they mix, at the same, the beverage of choice (almond milk for me) with the espresso over ice. The glorious mixtures swirl together so delicately! I'm not joking, it's an art! The thickness and mouthfeel the frothed almond milk gives the drink is magical. I currently live in Crystal Lake and this location is 50 miles from me. I literally drive over an hour to get my medium iced almond milk latte with an extra shot and 1 pump of vanilla. After a loooong drive, being greeted by employees who genuinely care about your happiness and fulfilling your caffeinated needs makes it all worth it. I went in there with my friend a few days ago and there was 2 people working. It was a guy and a girl and they both had attitude towards me and my friends even though we were acting like regular customers and ordering drinks in a nice manner. They didn't even fill our drinks to the top. They just looked miserable and as if they hated us. The way they were talking to us was full of attitude. I didn't catch their names but one of the girls was covered in pride month accessories and clothes (nothing wrong with that, that's just the only way I could distinguish her instead of just saying she was a girl) and the guy had black hair. read more

I do enjoy their dark roast coffees and teas typically, how ever there is one particular barista (name starts with an M, short young woman LOTS of eye liner) thats very rude. I'm aware mornings are difficult but all the other baristas are kind always and this woman always tends to mess up iced tea fogs and I don't think I've ever gotten a proper latte from her. This Peet's coffee is brand spanking new and it is now my go to coffee stop. The space is well designed, bright and modern feeling. It is great to see a few familiar baristas from the Caribou that previously occupied the space. I've probably been in 10 times now and I've been greeted by super friendly people from having my order taken to the actual baristas. I haven't tried the food but they do have a nice variety of baked goods and a few grab and go lunch options. The best part about Peet's is that my coffee has tasted great and consistent every single time (hot, just the right amount of foam) my biggest complaint about some coffee shops is that my drink will taste different or not be prepared correctly. Great location adjoining The Book Stall. There is an indoor hallway that connects the two. The bookstore will allow you to bring a drink with a LID in to browse. And, of course, you can bring your purchase into the coffee shop and get started on it right away. A marriage made in heaven! This former Caribou keeps the layout and decor, with large and clean restrooms, and some outdoor seating with umbrellas. The Peet's menu is typical. I, however, did not see the gluten free snacks that I have seen at Peet's in Arlington Heights and Naperville (they would've sold one if they'd had one). Cheerful staff. This Peet's Coffee Shop just opened up a few weeks ago and it is absolutely amazing! Their coffee is a bit stronger than Starbuck's, but they craft in a way where it's not overbearing, it's just right! Their customer service is above and beyond and i have never had a problem with anything there. However, their coffee isn't the best i have had, hence the 4-star rating, but it is good, and so is the ambiance and staff! Theire baked goods options are decent, i'm not too big a fan of any of them. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area and looking for a nice place to sit down and unwind. It is a great place to meet up a friend or someone you want to catch up with. They have really decorated it well. It's a cool and calm environment. My favorite part about them is that they take phone orders and everything is ready super quick and perfectly by the time you go pick it up. I have never had too long of a wait their and i truly appreciate that (because imagine being in a ridiculous line BEFORE you have your coffee)!! Oh Peets I love you. it is so refreshing to see a coffee chain in the Chicago area that is not Starbucks. This Peets is a special place occupying a key downtown luxury Chicago suburban spot and preventing the Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks form having it. This place has excellent views,coffee,service, and customers. i really enjoyed the variety of hot and cold drinks i tried wishing to see how Peets stacked up against the Star Bucks and Peets did not disappoint. This coffee shop in downtown Winnetka is just too cute! With a modern yet rustic feel, its a great cozy place to grab coffee, read a book or get some work done. It's right next to the Bookstall so its fun to grab a cup of coffee and go browse or buy a book and go read! From my experience it's generally a little more quiet then the other coffee places in the area. They have a wide range of unique pasties, breakfast items and snacks and their coffee is great! They serve it with out the lid, exposing the designs of the the steamed milk blended with espresso making its easy to appreciate the artistry that coffee making is. read more

I know that Peet's is a chain, but it sure doesn't feel like it! The coffee is the best! Rich and smooth! It's not that over-roasted burnt stuff you get at that other coffee place. My wife and I walk here a few times a week. The staff greet us by name and with a smile as if they actually care. We just love the vibe in here! Honestly, the only reason I got a drink was because I used the restroom and I do not like running in to a business and using their utilities without purchasing something. I ordered a Dirty Chai.
