This was one of the BEST brunches we've been to since leaving the city! As you can tell from my food photos everything was so good I forgot to take photos. This restaurant has it all. Ambiance, outstanding service and food that's absolutely delicious. We went over the holidays and it was decorated so nicely it made us want to stay forever. If you want a fun place to have brunch go here! I can't think about one thing I'd ask them to correct.

My friend and I decided to try Pomeroy, and overall it was a memorable experience. It had been a long time since I'd had French food, and the quality really stood out. The mussels were excellent, full of flavor, and the garlic bread paired perfectly with the mussel sauce. Service was good overall. The staff member who cleared our table was attentive, checked in on us regularly, and kept our water glasses filled. From my perspective, our waitress wasn't the friendliest, but it didn't completely take away from the experience. The ambiance was a highlight, very clean, cozy, and welcoming as soon as you walk in. The hostess especially made us feel genuinely welcomed. If you're looking for great mussels, this is definitely the spot to try. PS: They offer valet parking, which is a nice bonus.

I went here with my husband and my friend and her boyfriend because we've wanted to go and it's gotten pretty good reviews so we wanted to try it out When we got there, we got to sit in the back room, which is very pretty had really good ambiance. Our server was nice. We ordered a few drinks and I ordered a Manhattan which I always do and my Manhattan had bubbles in it that would not go away as in soap bubbles. It was not great and I've never had that experience before. I had the French onion soup. It was really good, and then everybody else ordered the steak frites It was not cooked the way they asked for it to be cooked. It wasn't as good as they thought it would be for the price and overall we were underwhelmed by the food drinks at this place because we thought it would be a lot better for what we paid for the back room is cool though highly recommend it maybe next time we come we'll order something else and have a different experience but the food that we ordered at a French restaurant wasn't what we were expecting.

I don't go to a lot of French restaurants but this place was recommended to us, and we know why! The food is great, service is great, and the overall experience was great.

I had such a great experience for lunch at Pomeroy today. I took my mother-in-law for lunch for her birthday, and it was the perfect lunch spot. It was a beautiful day, and we were seated in the courtyard. Walking through the restaurant to get to the courtyard, I was impressed with the interior of the restaurant, with a beautiful bar and cozy, comfortable looking tables inside. There was also an outdoor sidewalk cafe in the front of the restaurant. We had excellent service and the most personable waiter Hugo, who gave us great recommendations. We both ordered the Colossal Shrimp Louie salad, which was the perfect size and so delicious. I swear we wanted to lick the bowl! We also shared pommes frites which were perfectly cooked and crispy and they were served with garlic aioli for dipping. We ended with the creme brûlée, recommended by Hugo, which was "on the house" for my mother-in-law's birthday. It was served with a sparkler on it. If you are looking for the perfect place to meet a friend for lunch have a perfect meal, and make you feel like you are seated in a French Café , this is your place. It's in such a picturesque neighborhood, you have the option of indoor or outdoor seating and parking is really easy. This is going to be in my restaurant rotation list for sure.

Just dined here for the 2nd time!! So glad I returned! Their awesome hostess, Rosie, even remembered me from my first visit last November!! She sat me in the front dining area, which was so nice, airy and cozy--and great for people watching! I ordered almost everything in the photo from my first visit from last November (Boeuf et œufs/steak and eggs and Quiche Lorraine) --except this time, I didn't have champagne, but instead, I had Crème Brûlée for dessert!!! Everything was awesomely delicious!! My server, Hugo, was wonderfully quick and efficient! He and another colleague - Mary Rose - did a great job recommending the Crème Brûlée for dessert (glad I listened to them)! I will of course, be back! I'm dying to have dinner here, so that will be next my dining adventure with this excellent restaurant!!!

I'm so happy that we tried Pomeroy! We've been searching for a good French restaurants and nothing has lived up to my expectations until Pomeroy. Everything about this place was amazing! FOOD: We started with the French Onion Soup and the Escargot. Both appetizers were great. I like that the soup had a thicker broth and large slices of onions. My favorite was definitely the escargot. I've tried escargot at multiple restaurants and find them overly salty but at Pomeroy, it wasn't salty but super buttery and had so much flavor. For the main course, we ordered the bouillabaisse and the steak a là bordelaise. The bouillabaisse was good and had huge chunks of shrimp, lobster meat, mussels, and scallops. They did not skimp on the seafood! BUT the steak a la bordelaise was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection. It had a nice crust on the outside but super tender on the inside and the gravy was delicious. SERVICE: our server was super nice and he gave us great recommendations. He was the one that told us about the Steak a La bordelaise. He was very attentive and checked in every so often. AMBIANCE: the atmosphere was super cozy and romantic. Gets a great place for date night. Overall, we're really happy to find a French restaurant that lives up to our expectations. We loved the food there and will definitely be back soon.

We had Jordan S. As our server for our first time there, We sat in the courtyard, ambiance was amazing, we came in a bit before 6pm, beautiful atmosphere as the sun sets, We had Jordan recommendations for food; Lobster Risotto and Chicken as our entrees, split between me and my partner, he also recommended our wines and cocktails. Service was amazing and would definitely recommend him, he's easygoing and fun to talk to. We also shared a crème brûlée and macarons married with Frangelico, best date night and best food we had in a while. Thank you so much.

However, when we entered the owner, I assume, didn't even ask for my name and insisted we sit in a four top directly adjacent to the women's restroom. I asked if we could have a different table, considering we had made a reservation, which again he did not acknowledge, but insisted that all the tables were reserved. To be clear, no one else came into the restaurant from the time we sat down to our 6:30 reservation. They close at 8:30 - I think it's saying something that no one was coming in after 6:30 pm on a Saturday. Strike one. He then asked if we wanted something to drink... I asked for an Aperol spritz... he "made one" but it clearly was made with flat prosecco. I let it go. The recommended bacon wrapped scallops were three tiny scallops for $18. They were okay, but from a bygone era, and not made well enough to justify the cost. We chose to "upgrade" to French onion soup... big mistake. It came out at a million degrees, was clearly made with mozzarella cheese and tasted like a salt bomb. I'm a big fat man, and I could barely eat it. Even as the mains came, it was still steaming on a summers day. Strike two. As for the main, I was already angry and soured by the experience. My wife and I don't go out much, as we have a baby, and it's all the more infuriating when you have such a terrible experience. The duck was okay, but the skin tasted of gas from the broiler. The "Florentine" potatoes were weird, and you couldn't choose any other preparation of potato... also weird when the entrees are $40+. Like, wtf, you can't make a mashed potato? It's clear they batch cook the "potato of the day (I've never heard of such a thing in my entire life)" and can't be bothered to cook to order. My wife's steak cut was full of gristle. When they bussed the table next to us, I overheard and saw the presumed owner and member of the waitstaff move "unused" wine glasses from a dirty table to a newly set up table. He literally said, they didn't use them. These people ate, coughed, etc with these "clean" glasses. Disgusting. Strike a million. Needless to say, we didn't get dessert. It is clear this is a "well loved" restaurant, especially by its patrons of an elderly age. As a result, I think the ownership simply does not care about new patrons. They are content to serve the same people who have been coming from the 80s. For the price point, it is unacceptable. Our server was okay. He didn't ask if we were celebrating anything, which I also thought was odd, but so be it. When he asked how we thought the food was, we said it was "eh." There was no attempt to see how it could have been better.

The restaurant is above the Sophia steakhouse, and within seconds of being up the stairs, you understand what the restaurant is trying to present. Class, ambiance, and moody vibes are the name of the game. It felt like eating in a French manor on a rainy night surrounded by the aristocracy. So obviously, I felt right in place. The lighting was gorgeous, and the views of the city right outside the window were the ideal backdrop for this meal. I ordered an imported cab, which was full-bodied and paired nicely with all that we ordered. The restaurant week menu was catered for you to purchase off the à la carte menu, which was fine because it was worth it. It's a $60 deal with an app, an entree, and a dessert. However, the portion sizes were more than adequate for each of these courses. For my opener, I ordered the duck confit, which was tender, flavorful, and, might I add, gorgeously plated as every dish was. I am not really a traditional duck guy, but I loved it. From there, the piece de resistance of the meal for me came out (off the à la carte menu), the french onion soup. I'm not even fronting when I say this was the second best I've had in the city (just behind Gretel). It was sweet, savory, and super cheesy as all french onion soups should be. From there, the branzino came out, which was tender in the right places, flaky in the right places, and had an amazing sauce and presentation. Similar to duck, I am not an avid seafood eater, so I have to trust a place before ordering it, and I'm glad I did here. It was also massive. I ended the evening with the creme brulee, which, if you weren't in the know, is my favorite dessert ever. This one was GOOD, and huge, so I was living. Service was super helpful, efficient, and attentive. No complaints!

Highlight was the French onion soup and the fries that accompany the steak frites. The salad and dessert were fine, but not memorable. Some things to note: -the bread service (baguette with butter) is not free, but it was positioned like it would be. That was kinda off putting when I saw the bill at the end (about $5) -the steak used in the steak frites was pretty tough, overcooked (asked for medium, came out close to well done), and wasn't a high quality piece of meat. Totally get why since 3 courses for $48 isn't that bad, and the French onion soup is typically $15 -we were sat promptly at our reservation time, but when we left the waiting area was absolutely packed TLDR, I'll come here for drinks and the French onion soup, and skip out on the rest.

I chose the French toast breakfast and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs, and we both had mimosas as well! My French toast was light, fluffy, and delicious, definitely a solid choice. My boyfriend was super impressed by the steak and eggs and said it was the best breakfast he had our entire trip! The drinks are also very expensive, and we found the steaks to be tough and dry. The Niçoise salad was awful, and not at all what we expected. It was drowning in dressing and the combination of anchovies and tuna did not work. It was also quite obvious that the tuna was not seared properly. I did think the roast chicken was good, and the fries were by far the best part of the meal. We went to several fine restaurants over the past few days to celebrate a milestone birthday, and La Grande Boucherie was the absolute worst in terms of value and quality of food. They were also the only establishment that didn't give the celebrant a small desert with a candle to mark the occasion. Just disappointing all around.
