Our local friend brought a small group of us to this charming restaurant near our Airbnb. Not knowing polpette means meatball Italian, I was surprised that Polpetta's menu was entirely (meat)ball themed. Down to their desserts! PSA: menus available in at least Italian and English.
The flavors were rich and the meal was one of the most satisfying I had throughout my roadtrip journey through Italy. Let me tell you about that Carbonara. My taste-buds have never tasted real pork cheek carbonara. It was heavenly and "bacon" will now forever be "second best".
If you're going with a group of friends or have strong sweet tooth, I'd recommend ordering the "cumball dessert". AKA the dessert combo platter! There a tiramisu-inspired dessert, ricotta and nutella dessert balls, and cheesecake dessert balls.
I learned to "scarpetta" here which essentially means cleaning off the sauce on your plate with bread. Why would you let any deliciousness go to waste? There's a hashtag included in their signage that I believe reads "scarpetta is obligatory". We had a lovely evening with friends accompanied with great food, wine, and service. After enjoying our dessert and some post-dinner lemoncello, I'm pretty sure we were the last to leave the restaurant.
