You don't pick the arancino. The arancino picks you. I heard it calling my name.

We wondered into this working class neighborhood looking for the delicioso cannoli place which is right next door to Mondo Arancina. I'm so glad we did. While the food is Sicilian, the atmosphere is strictly no frills Roman. It's point and shoot for the arancini. They are in a case at the counter. It's 2 or 3 euros for most variety. We got the ragu arancino, which was stuffed with carne bovina (beef), pork, peas and mozzarella. Muah. (You can't see it but I'm kissing my fingers to indicate how good this thing tasted.) My date is a big fan of wine. (If you remember this is the girl I met on Tinder a few weeks ago and in an impulsive move that many of my friends have said indicates my complete lack of judgement, invited to come with me to Italy.) And here by "fan of wine" I mean she drinks wine like a fish. Wine with every meal. Wine with breakfast anyone? She never saw a bottle of wine she didn't love. I mean this woman likes wine. Accordingly, we got some wine to go with our arancino. The wine is a buck or two. I don't remember. By any measure, it's cheap. If you want a yummy snack in the afternoon to get you through, this is a great place to do it.

Craved a pizza on our last night in Rome. We walked around since there are plenty of eateries in the area we stayed in, then low and behold Mondo Arancina was just around the corner. It is a small establishment, next to some popping gelato shops in case you want that after your pizza. The staff was friendly, knew English, and was fast. Just how it should be with these type of places. There are some seats to eat inside, but ultimately, this is not a sit down place to eat by any means. We had 2 different slices of pizza. I don't get how they operate here in Rome/Italy. I think you pay by weight? But we got 2 "slices" of different types of pizza for roughly 6ish Euro. First was some cheesy pizza that had plenty of ham. I'm sure it was some Italian meat of some sort, but I'm just going to call it ham. Then we had another that had some sweet peppers. Had some chunks of meat too. Very very good. If you are in the neighborhood, looking for some pizza, check this place out.

Absolutely glad I found this place. I got there right at 6pm on Sunday and was able to get a table. By 6:45pm the place was packed. The service and the food were both spectacular! I asked my server, Fritz if he could charge my phone as the battery was dying. To my surprise, they were actually equipped with portable chargers. So he brought it to the table. Now the food, absolutely phenomenal. I went with the Cacio e Pepe. Very simple but glorious at the same time. They had a great wine selection. You must try their version it the Tiramisu with apples and caramel!!! Oh my!

I love Mondo! It is the second time I've been here - the last time was four years ago and they certainly lived up to the memory. For those that don't know, arancini are rice balls with a stuffed center, rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Seriously, what's not to like?! :) Mondo are the best I've had - although I've only got a handful of comparison places, but these are moist saffron infused balls of goodness. I had the Stomboli, which is a typical tomato, cheese and basil filling while the missus had one with a white cheese sauce and ham. Two of those, two cokes (never cheap in Rome) and a big hunk of pizza (which I'd come back for alone) all came to less than 12 Euros! An absolute bargain. Next time in Rome I'll be back again.

Very good Arancina, only thing that would Make it better would be getting them freshly made. The rage filling was delicious.

EXCELLENT Rice balls. Fresh and taste great. Service can be better. If it was not for service it would get 5 stars. But food excellent.

The outside is perfectly crispy on the inside is true we with the perfect perfect flavors I love this place and we will be back anytime we come to Rome! My only suggestion if you are open until 1 AM and you run out of a kind at 6 PM make more!!! Especially if it is the one on the menu that is the most expensive truffle and the one that people talk about most on yelp

2 are enough for a whole meal!

The saffron hit in the arancini is really quite powerful and gives the whole thing flavour, not just the filling.

Welcome to the carb carnival. Next stop on our food tour, daring you to try just one more slice…read moreafter your pants have already waved the white flag. This is no ordinary pizza place, it's a forno, which is Italian for oven. Naturally, someone here looked at the bread, looked at the toppings, and said, Yes, this shall be pizza now. We kicked things off with the Margherita, the classy queen of pizzas, literally. Named after Queen before Italy decided to liberate itself, this was your classic tomato-mozzarella-basil situation. Red, Green and White like the Italian Flag. Regal. Nostalgic. Tastes like a monarchy that actually works. Then came the potato pizza, which, let me tell you, was a surprise carb ambush. Like, Oh cute, a slice of starch on starch. Bread with potatoes on it. For when your body is craving a food coma. And then came the Marinara, my personal Roman romance. No cheese, all attitude. Spicy, saucy, simple. Like that one ex who was too intense but kind of unforgettable. Let's talk style: Roman pizza is not your floppy Neapolitan mess that folds into a pizza burrito the moment it hits your plate. No no, Roman pizza stands its ground. It's a little thicker and definitely crunchier. You don't need to roll it, cradle it, or whisper encouragement. It just is. And I love it more than I probably should. La Renella is where bread goes to find its higher purpose which is to be pizza.

Another stop during our food tour led by Valentina with Tasting Europe…read more At this bakery, we got to taste a pizza filled with pork and Italian beer. Omgosh, what a treat! If I didn't know that I needed to leave a lot of room in my belly since this was only one of the many stops, I would've eaten more! Valentina did an amazing job telling us the story about this local bakery which also baked bread to other local businesses. A very good bakery/pizzeria!
