This was my first visit to Polly's Pies, and I'm so glad we stopped in! I ordered the Pollyburger lunch special, which included fries, a drink, and a slice of pie. The burger was juicy, the fries were hot and crispy, and I even tried their bottled IBC Root Beer, which was served ice cold and was so refreshing. One of my favorite things about this restaurant was the atmosphere. It has that cozy, traditional American diner feel, and walking in you're greeted by a beautiful display of fresh pies that instantly makes you smile. I probably spent a few minutes just admiring all the different flavors before we even sat down! Our server was friendly, attentive, and always had a smile. The service made the whole experience even better. And yes... the pie was every bit as good as it looked. In fact, it was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture before I ate it! Value's not quite there, portion sizes are a little small for the price. Went with a sandwich this round and it tasted like a sandwich so it was OK I guess. Fries always need help make sure to pour salt and pepper on them. Place definitely serves a particular clientele over 60. Hope they realize they need to adjust to attract a younger audience and not service the people that want to play bingo while they're eating. Staff is alright, place is clean. Polly's was my favorite spot when I lived in town, but since I moved I have not been there in over 3 years. From the last time I visited this restaurant they renovated, and it looks really nice. We celebrated my mom's birthday there and were extremely impressed. Great deal when it's your birthday, definitely recommend to sign up for Polly's perks. We went to Polly pies in Hemet with friends and family recently. And the only way that we would go back is if we went with our family again this is not somewhere we would wanna go on our own. Eve waitresses name was Tilly and she was outstanding. And most of the time you cannot blame the waitress for the food quality. I ordered the prime rib dinner and the prime rib was cold when delivered I ordered a medium well and it was well done and it was cold. The dinner rolls came out ahead of time and I was told that the way that they came very doughy was typical and I should've ordered the cornbread so next time if we happen to go with Family, I will order the cornbread. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. The gravy was good, but asked for extra gravy because the potatoes are very dry. The green beans tasted like they were from a can like. I said it was not the best the waitress again Tilly made it extremely nice. She kept my drink full my wife's drink full. My wife ordered the Asian chicken salad and she said that it was outstanding. The ambience is a typical pie restaurant type place to sit and eat. Came in today craving the Salisbury steak plate @$15.99 and it did not disappoint. It was a tad on the greasy side but not to the point where it was overbearing. We ordered a build a burger for my husband. Rose and Linda are the young ladies helping us throughout our dining experience. My husband said from a 1-10 for his burger it would be an 8. This place can be described as an open dining area, a local eatery for down home cooked meals. The star of my meal today was the corn bread. Oh my goodness! Went for dinner last night and ate the Tuna Sandwich special with pie. The tuna was good tasting, lots of eggs and crunchy celery. wish they had a better choice than french fries with the special. I ordered the Pumpkin Maple Crunch pie to go. Later on in the evening I started to eat the pie, but found it hard to cut into the pie because the crunch was toooo crunchy-had to eat pumpkin and crust and pick off the crunch. Went to Pollys for lunch today. We were seated and no one came to take our order. I actually had to go to the front desk to ask for service. When I got back to my seat suddenly a waitress appeared. She was very abrupt and you could tell not happy. She took our order and when the food came she never came back. We needed refills never got them. She came back dropped down the check and walked away saying nothing. I complained at the front desk and was told guess she forgot that table was hers. Not an excuse. We eat there a lot and the food is good but bad service will make us look to other places to eat! read more

I drove over an hour to come here specifically for a pie that was listed as available on their website. When I arrived, I was told they did not have it. No explanation was given, just a flat "we don't have it." While I was looking at the menu displayed above, one of the workers told me not to follow that menu and handed me a different menu showing what they actually had available. I explained that the displayed menu and website both showed the pie I came for, and asked how customers are supposed to know what is actually available. Her response was, "You can just walk over here and look for yourself." I found this response rude and dismissive. Food we could eat again. Pies well could not tell you for certain because the service was horrible. The waitress refused to sell me an Apple Pie or slice. Saying there was none because they were seasonal only. Huh.... it is apple season. Fyi.... there were "apple" pies in the front bakery counter. So I advise the cashier of what the waitress did. A Hemet favorite. Definitely the best pies. It's a nice sit down restaurant and I will give the waitstaff four stars, but you might be in luck and get a five star waitress. I've been dining here for years and have never had a bad meal. All of their breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees are excellent. This is our new favorite spot when my son and I come up to Hemet to visit Grandma. Love their weekend prime rib special, I love their side veggies include brussel sprouts. My mom loves their cornbread, and kiddo gets hyped up for root beer floats and pie. We've eaten here 5 or 6 times now and it's been consistently solid. Servers have always been on top of it and I've always felt like it was a good value for the portions and taste when he check comes. The food was good as well as the service. The only criticism would be the amount of fries varied from plate to plate...one plate had a lot, one had very little. The pie was yummy as always. Two stars, would be one but they changed servers on us. We have been going here a few times based on our daughters recommendation. The first few times were good but over the last few visits it has seemed that they take advantage of regular visitors. One server (don't know her name) has the absolute worst work ethic! We've had her Terri tuned previous and each time service keeps getting worse. Today had to be a new low. No host/hostess available to seat us so this server sort of greeted and sat us, my wife asked if a booth was availed she sternly said no and sat us at a half booth tour table. My wife saw an open booth adjacent and asked about and the server mumbled something I couldn't hear. After we had been seated, she sat two people into the booth and were astonished to see we were lied to. We ordered and waited for our food, meanwhile I had a cup of coffee and WA's never offered a refill nor an urn of which I notched every one else had! Checkout time and the last at the counter asked me how things were I said not good but it appeared she couldn't care less! The management here needs to be replaced along with that one server, I actually saw get leaning on the booth taking a customers order, now I've been around customer service as my wife has also and that's a no no but not at Polly's I guess! Yesterday I ate alone at Polly's and had the worst service. It was 2:30pm, place wasn't packed at all. Took about 5 minutes to be acknowledged. I requested red onion on my burger. The burger arrived without onion, took a bit to get the attention of the waitress and I may have said excuse me louder than normal, my bad. Instead of just bringing me a slice of onion, the waitress took my tray to the kitchen and took the long way getting back to my table. So my fries were room temperature by the time they made it back to me. I'm always a big tipper cause I know us single diners get a bad reputation. First time in my life I didn't leave a tip. Honestly very disappointed, after I had paid and was about to leave I decided to buy food for a homeless man. However, I was refused this purchase and later overheard a conversation between the manager, Mike, and the other employees not to serve the homeless man that had come in. He was causing no harm, was fully dressed and was already willing to pay for the drink that he had ordered. I have always received great service here and I have been a regular customer, but this will ensure I will never come back. My relationship with this company is destroyed and this location needs a serious change in management. I will be pursuing further negative action, particularly on the grounds of discrimination. I haven't even tasted the food yet but Polly's Pies is already getting 5 stars because of the hostess, Gloria! She was a total kick and had us smiling and laughing right from the start. First of all, she was very sweet to personally clear off the only open booth for us to make us comfortable. We appreciated that as she could have saved herself the trouble and just seated us at a table. A little later, I told her that I thought the little orange bow in her hair and the matching orange jewelery was very cute. Before our meal was over we had become total fans of Gloria and Polly's Pies and we even got a mini concert of her singing ''Chantilly Lace!'' I just had to join in. Can't remember when we had so much fun at a restaurant. Thanks for making our day, Gloria! So now for the food. I like what I ordered quite a bit. It was the half sandwich combo with tuna salad on sourdough and a salad with thousand island dressing. I'm picky about T.I. dressing and this was very good. The salad was a generous size with extras like croutons, tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, and grilled corn. Much better than the salads at many restaurants where they might only have 2 or 3 ingredients. My tuna salad also had chopped egg and celery. Nice and crunchy. The bread slices were thick. My dining companion had a French toast combo that he said he liked. He was especially happy with the delicious and big sausage links. We bought their signature pie to go...I think it's called Banberry. It's fresh strawberries under a glaze and on top of a banana cream layer, all topped off with whipped cream...a dessert treat waiting for us after dinner. read more

The wait to sit down was a long time. Then when we did sit down it took forever to get our drinks and order taken. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich and choked on the drink when it comes out. It looked terrible the portion size was like a kid's meal. $18 for a handful of cold fries and a tiny sandwich with literally no meat on there! The amount of meat on the whole sandwich wasn't even sufficient enough for a half of sandwich. To begin with, the prices were excellent for the value received - breakfast for three people came in at under $40! Went to celebrate a birthday, there were 11 of us. Didn't have to wait long to be put at a table that only actually sat 10 and when we advise them that the last person was hanging off the table, they put a little bit of a stink about it until the manager came in and fixed it. There were two of us that advised the waitress we were going to split the order. ordered the Garlic Aioli Turkey sandwich and added avocado along with the large Caesar salad. The avocado on the turkey sandwich was two very thin slices on only one half of the sandwich (that was $2.50), none on the other half and we got a small dinner Caesar salad, and when we advised her, they just brought us another small Caesar salad, and charged us for two. Wellll.... Over all, the place isn't too bad.... However.... I find it very unprofessional that, when they advertise, "Prime rib, 4:00 PM- closing, or until we run out," they are out. Every blasted time I make a point to come here for the prime rib, they are conveniently OUT of it. This has happened four times. I wonder if they could posdibly stock enough to last the entire weekend, when it is advertised. Like I wrote-- it's overall good, but this is the last time I will come here.
