I've eaten here twice in the last couple months, while my friend takes care of his late mother's estate. BOTH times I've been here, meal was DELICIOUS, the help was NICE as possible, the restrooms were BIG and CLEAN ... Dang, really enjoyed it. AND, both times, once as a side, once as the "main event," I had Navy Bean Soup. Very delicious, lots of beans, ham, veggies ... so tasty. I'm going to contact them to see if I can buy a QUART of the Navy Bean Soup so I can have it at home for a couple days. Definite good experience, would go back FOR SURE. read more

This is my favorite go to place for great home cooking and excellent service. The restaurant is always packed which is a good indicator of the best of everything to those new to the area. Ample parking Quick to be seated, drinks served even quicker! Nice sized place, very clean throughout the place. Large menu with many items to choose from. Don't forget to ask about the specials. My friends and I stopped by for an early lunch for a group of 10, and thankfully we were seated quickly. We only had to wait until the 8th person came in to get fully seated, which was nice. Our server was fantastic and made sure to check up on us frequently while also making sure to separate checks. Once everyone arrived and had time to look through our menus, she quickly took everybody's orders. Our food came out very fast, and it was so delicious! I had the patty melt, and the bread perfectly paired with the patty. The fries were also nice and crisp with a soft and warm inside. They were such a great match! Everyone else's meals looked great as well, and it seemed like everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. This place was really good. It's a small place but it has plenty of seating. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. They serve breakfast all day and entrees after 2pm. They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli and it was soooo good. The sauce was very tasty. The chicken was cooked well. I do wish there was some more tomato and broccoli to it tho. But all in all, I would definitely come back to try other food they have. read more

We were in town early Sunday morning for the off Road Swap Meet at Soboba Casino. Yepped the area for best Breakfast near our location. So we gave it a try. YES, 5 stars for the following. Greeted us at the door and asked booth or regular table. We sat dawn and a second employee gave us menus and our drinks. A few minutes later a 3rd employee took our order. All fast and very courteous. Food came out to our table in less than 5 minutes. ( See photos of our exceptional plates). Waitress stopped back to top off our drinks and how the breakfast was. And I might skip the Ortega sandwich that I had this past time, a bit salty and not flavored. The foods okay; your typical diner type food. about $16 bucks a sandwich.. I'd probably suggest going with the Philly that you can dip into sauce instead of this Ortega. The fries are your typical fries now. a lot of flavor. Make sure to pour some salt and pepper on them. Went to this restaurant after a long absence eating there. I had the Tuesday special-Chicken Pot Pie. The waitress said they make their own pot pies. It was delicious, the size was 7" diameter and contained: chicken, corn, green beans, carrots in a white sauce (not the thick kind of sauce) and the crust was 1/2 thick, SO tasty. The sauce inside wasn't thick, but somewhat sweet; it could have been the crust. The crust was definitely hand made. I couldn't eat it all at that time and just had another portion; reminding me to write a review. The garlic bread included an end piece, but that is fine with me. The waitress was quick and helpful. Other staff is quick to bring drinks. The restaurant was clean. read more

We happened to be in the Hemet area and found Abby's Cafe. We were very pleased with the food, the food portions and service. Every Wednesday they have a special of corned beef and cabbage with carrots, red potatoes and garlic bread. My husband ordered this meal and he stated it was the best meal he ever ate at a restaurant. Regarding service, they came by our table several times filling up drink cups and asking if we needed anything. Place is very clean and has friendly servers. read more

A casual atmosphere that seems to be popular as they had a line at the door around noon.We stopped in for a late lunch after the lunch rush. Our waitress was friendly and she provided good service. I ordered the fried shrimp, broccoli and a baked potato.I do wish the shrimp was grilled, but not a deal breaker.The food serving is plentiful as I got a to go box to finish my lunch for dinner. This is a nice classic diner. The menu sports all the usual comfort food standards. The staff are very friendly. They seem to have many "regular" customers. There's alot of 'old people" which includes me,a sign of a good business. My only negative comment is that the chef was a bit heavy on the salt for me. read more

Stopped in at Abby's for an early dinner and our group had a wonderful time. The cafe is located in a shopping center so parking is easy to find mind you it does get busy. We were sat right away and both of our servers were very attentive and kind. Just wish it was relayed that they would be taking over but service quality never wavered. We ordered the fried zucchini as an appetizer and the zucchini was alright, breading to zucchini ratio was a little off but we are easy to please! Had the chicken strips because 1.) I am a simple gal and 2.) any whole in the wall kind of cafe usually serves them the best and I will have to say they were pretty tasty. The cafe is one big room with plenty of seating and since it's Hemet you can expect to run into your fellow locals, which I always enjoy seeing the community get together for a nice meal. Usually I come to this place and receive great service! But this time no. We are seated and got drinks but a sever never came to us. We were waiting around for about 15-20 minutes and nobody came to us so we up and left. When we left we saw that servers & waitresses were just chatting up and didn't even bother to come to us. Wife and I were waiting for the DMV to open and realized we're an hour early, so we stopped off at Abby's because it had great reviews. We were promptly greeted and seated and had our drink order taken despite the place being busy. Within 5 min the friendly waitress took our order. A Cali Benedict for me and the wife has a sweet tooth but is watching her figure, so it was nice to see the Belgian waffles with strawberries and cream come in half sizes/orders. Over medium eggs cooked perfectly, fresh avocado and veggies...it was an excellent Bennie for being meatless. Came with hashbrowns that were so perfect that I almost ordered an extra side but was getting full as the portion sizes are generous. Prices are more than fair. I ordered a Cali Benedict and hot tea. Wife got half a waffle, 2 eggs and 2 bacon a la carte, and 2 hot cocoas. The bill came to less than $40. The place looked freshly renovated, clean and had cool framed pictures of the local area from 100 years ago. I can't wait to go back and try lunch and dinner. read more

This place is a few miles off the 79 freeway, but well worth the sidebar if you are traveling through Hemet, or on your way up to Idyllwild. The whole place looks recently remodeled, and if it wasn't well the team is doing a great job keeping the place looking fresh and clean. Love the open room concept where you can see across the entire room and watch all the waitstaff buzzing about. Overall the menu is of your standard break/lunch fare with some Mexican additionals in there. The prices are very reasonable. A brunch for two with drinks was just over $30, which is a great deal these days. The waitstaff is super friendly and quick on their feet as my coffee cup never dropped below the halfway mark. I even overheard the manager dealing with a call that came in about the corned beef hash not being up to their standard, and because of that I ordered the corned beef hash, and let me tell you that it was probably the best I've had in the last 10+ years. So much so that I will go back again soon and order again. The last tip, is that they have a sectioned-off room where it looks like you could have a private breakfast gathering, perhaps you can call ahead and reserve that area, but it's well-decorated and cozy inside. Customer service was kind of mid. The lady seemed like she was having a bad day. Kind of forgot multiple things I had to ask her a few times other than that love the aesthetic of the place. Very quiet comforting food had the catfish was season pretty good. Everyone else said the meal was good solid eight out of 10 customer service though could be worked on. read more
