We came out for breakfast while visiting dad in Hemet. We all chose Mexican items because we don't get that at home in Humboldt. We were not disappointed! It came out hot and tasty. The eggs were cooked perfectly on all our dishes. The sauce on my chilaquiles was amazing!!! Portions were large so we took some home for later. The vibe was good, the place was clean. Ambiance: it has an old school cafe/diner vibe to it. Not too big when you get inside and the decor won't wow you but nice little spot to enjoy breakfast with your family. Service: service has always been on point when coming. Though the seem to only have one server there. But to their credit, you never are waiting for them to stop by and check in for refills. They make sure they ask if you need anything after they leave the food which is always nice so you aren't waiting around to eat your food once it arrives. They also do great when they know my kids are sharing a plate and bring it out separated so I don't have to do that. Huge plus there Food: the food is really good. I've had a couple omelets here and the chicken fried steak. Portions are a nice size. Just enough to get me full and the price is super reasonable in my opinion which is why I keep coming back. Went to a women's breakfast here on Saturday morning. It gave me an Alice vibe. Old school local "hole in the wall" respectfully. You know, the place all the locals come to but it's not real trendy? I've never been here or to the breakfast before. I am not sure what the owner was thinking having only two waitresses or not many cooks in the kitchen. We ordered about 9am and our food didn't come until after 10:45am. I was not upset, but I wasn't happy either. Valerie was our waitress. She was very nice and kept my coffee cup full at all times. Turns out our ticket got lost. I even had to go to the cashier to pay for something I never got charged for. I never got to eat any of my sandwich because it was time to go already. I did eat it when I got home and it was good... not $15.00 good though. The star of the show for me was that carrot soup. I enjoy trying new things and that was absolutely delicious. Apparently I am coming back monthly because the women's group meets here once a month. I pray that I can give it a 5 next time. read more

Haven't been to this place for awhile. Didn't know they changed ownership. Menu is from J&M Restaurant. I ordered the two egg breakfast with home potatoes and sour dough toast. Eggs were cooked just right to my taste; the potatoes had onions and some bell peppers-yummy and the toast was nice and crunchy. The portions were large, so we took 1/2 of meal home. We both had 2 full cups of coffee. The specials board was outside the main eating area. Their specials are pricey. The area was clean and warm for the cold weather outside. I went to Early Bird Cafe this morning and I really wanted to give it 5 stars. I ordered a build your own omelette with onions, bell pepper, spinach, mushrooms, and requested to add bacon but the cook forgot to add it to it. I don't eat potatoes but ordered a fruit cup but it didn't taste fresh & completely my order with cranberry juice but didn't like that either. The waitress was kind enough to change it to apple juice but even that was good because it was watered down so much. The waitress was so nice. She always had a smile and quick to make any changes. I don't want to trash a local business, but I feel I need to warn other people. I ordered a burger that would have been great if it didn't taste like an old freezer patty, the fries had no salt on them at all. My wife ordered an omelet that was also without taste. Everything we ordered was bland. My total bill was $30. I wish I had gone to a chain restaurant. For the same price you can get some better food and atmosphere. This was my second time here. While visiting the area I decided to stop in for brunch with my husband. Upon entering I knew this place either hd really good food or really bad food... but my hopes were high! The service was wonderful! Very friendly and attentive! Feels family owned. Our food came quickly, but wasn't lacking quality. And definitely was delicious! I had the Rueben sandwich with sweet potato fries. And my husband had the turkey, bacon avocado club sandwich with sweet potato fries. Both sandwiches were delicious, fries were very good as well! Deceptively large place, lots of room, large booths, open space. Plenty of distance between tables for social distancing. Very sweet and attentive staff. Seem like they very much care about their guests happiness. We did take our order to go. Still warm by the time we got it home. Taste was very good. What I did neglect to realize was that the California Benny does not come on an English muffin(?) weird. I guess I should have just trusted the description. The home fries lacked flavor but were fine nonetheless, tasted like exactly what they were, (potatoes, peppers and onions). I would just opt for hash browns next time. Their home made Hollandaise sauce, however, was great. They got our order exactly right and got it out super quickly. We only waited about 5-7 minutes. Definitely will be going back. read more

My husband had an omelet, home fries and toast. Soooo yummy, but the best part was the fast, friendly, super attentive, helpful service by Valerie! She is a delight! All the staff was friendly! We are making this our go to breakfast place in Hemet! Valerie also recommended a place for hair, nails, dinner, entertainment and so much more! The water was terrible. Blech... I was drawn in by the picture of the cobb salad on facebook it looked freaking delicious, unfortunately what was served did not resemble the picture at all. I also ordered the Santa Fe Turkey sandwich on toasted Parmesan sourdough bread, not really sure what happened here possibly imitation Parmesan or bad oil it was toasted with either way it did not taste right. This sandwich left me wishing that I had ordered something different. I hear the breakfast is nice... too bad I will never experience it since I refuse to go back to a restaurant that refuses to filter their water. On a positive note. The walls were nicely painted, the booths were in good shape, and the waitress... well one waitress (the younger one) was very friendly :) and the floors looked very clean.
