Went here for dinner with my family recently, and we were happily surprised! We ordered 1 whole chicken, fried plantains, and coleslaw. The chicken was delightfully charred and spiced to perfection, the meat was hot and tender. The plantains were delicious as was the coleslaw. The food in general was authentic, fresh, and delicious. The atmosphere was obviously new, being that it opened not too long ago. My family enjoyed how clean and open it is (there are nice large windows letting in nice natural light). The employee (possibly manager?) who served us was polite and informative. This rating is not 5 stars because the plastic silverware we were given to eat with was a little difficult to use. We ended up picking it apart with our fingers, but hey- sometimes eating with your hands adds to the deliciousness. Overall, positive experience with the food quality, the service, and the atmosphere. read more

It seems like there is a lot of Peruvian chicken places popping up lately. I like this place for it's simplicity. They have a small menu, but do everything pretty well. Good place for lunch if you're in the area. read more

This restaurant is conveniently located near my neighborhood. So I was excited it when it open several years ago. I was expecting to make this my go to spots as I love Peruvian chicken. Unfortunately that did not occur. Every time that I go to this establishment I do get subpar customer service. That cashiers are not pleasant and have absolutely no enthusiasm. But that is not even the reason why I have been disappointed with this place. The Chicken is dry and it is lacking any flavor. The sides that are rather small compared to other local Peruvian restaurants and they are a bit pricey or as well. I have gone several times and everytime I am reminded why I have stayed away for a long time. I instead go to Pollo Inti (inside the huge shopping center across the street) for some delicious Peruvian cuisine. They are always friendly and seem excited for my business. read more

I had a flan caramel because I was craving one and they said on their menu they make it onsite. It was delicious and very well priced. I will have to try more next time .... read more

My go to for Peruvian chicken. Location is super clean inside, great food all around.

Cheap and easy. The chicken is perfect, the sides leave a bit to be desired, though the black beans are great.

I'm moving to Sterling soon and I really really wanted to like this place. Ate there last week at about 6:30 pm. There were a few customers dining in, but there wasn't a line. The chicken was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary and unfortunately a bit dry. Deep fried items need to be eaten soon after they've been fried. The yuca frita and fries were also a disappointment. Not as fresh and crispy as they should've been. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, hence the three star rating. I'll definitely give them another try in hopes of a better experience. I wish they win me over. read more

Just tried this place after driving by several times. Glad I stopped in. Got the Pollo Peru Melt. Absolutely delicious. French fries were great. Crispy but soft. Salted just right. And the chicken was flavorful. You can smell the food down the road. read more

I had a solid take out experience with Pollo Peru. One night I invited friends over, but it poured down rain on my way home... so I was (1) late and (2) had no food to speak of. This is where Pollo Peru saved the day: Just having moved to the Dranesville area, I have never eaten here. A quick Yelp search helped me find this gem that is less than a 1/2 mile from my house. We order 3 quarter chickens with countless sides and a chicken sandwich. The rotisserie chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the sides were great too. I love the Yucca. Our call in order was ready in about 10 minutes and we talked them into extra sauces for free. A big win at the end of the day. read more

My first time here and I enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich, the sauce is what makes the chicken tasty and flavorful. I also enjoyed the fried yucca and fried plantains. My first time eating plantains and it was a great first experience. The staff were very friendly and the place is spotless, very clean. read more

Pollo Peru - Chicken salad sandwich with fried yucca and fried plantains. - Peruvian Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

I've been here a few times for lunch. I typically get the 1/4 chicken with various sides (I've tried the rice, beans, yucca, and plantains). Chicken is always juicy, and all the sides I've tried are delicious, even the white rice is super moist. Really there is nothing to complain about. Food comes out fast, and it's a great deal. I plan to return as many times as possible. read more

I'm pretty surprised about some of the negative reviews. My wife and I had noticed this restaurant being remodeled and we were anxious to try it. I think the first time we finally did was probably about 6 weeks ago. Since then, we've visited at least a half dozen times (probably more like 8-9 times). And every time we've thoroughly enjoyed the food. We always get the chicken (no sandwiches), plantains and black beans (once my wife tried the coleslaw...not good). And each has been very good. Everything is always properly cooked (no dry chicken for us) and hot (usually so hot we have to wait a bit to eat it...which is good if we do take out). The plantains are always perfect - and they've never been out, which a lot of other restaurants seem to have problems with - and the beans are perfectly seasoned. Also, except when they are obviously crowded, service has always been quick The only negatives we've experienced are the coleslaw, as mentioned, and the slightly costly sauce (they really should either up-size those a bit, or offer up to two of each, per serving for no charge...). read more

Stopped here on a weekday around 4pm. I got a half chicken (white meat) with platanos and coleslaw. The chicken portions were bigger than I expected and super fresh. The skin was really flavorful and crisped perfectly. Environment was clean and staff was very welcoming. 5 stars all around for me. The only thing I didn't like was that they only give you 1 small sauce per piece of chicken and charge you 25¢ for extra. The lady gave me extra sauce free of charge but I feel they should give you at least 2-3 sauces per piece as most competitors in the area do that as well. None the less, excellent restaurant. I will be going back often! read more

Pollo Peru - Half chicken (white meat) with platanos and coleslaw...$12 with a can of inca cola - Peruvian Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

Feed a family for $20? Yep. Not a huge selection of food, which is fine. You know what you are going to get. Good chicken-Rice and beans-and a bunch of great sauces. Best restaurant to be in this location. I have had no problem with the wait, and have eaten here on numerous occasions. read more

Herndon/sterling location is a pleasant surprise. Nice, comfortable interior. Prices are pretty good, we got the whole chicken with 2 large aides for around 15 bucks. Service is quick and it usually isn't crowded. Will definitely come back read more

These guys have the audacity too tax on the yellow sauce ! Give me more coleslaw the fries ! Y tu maldita edad what kind of stingy Peruvian are y'all? Too be doing that ? I was looking for a decent lunch after working 8hr! I ask for the 1/4 chicken and came up too be like 9$ at the price my ass knew I should of gone too McDonald's but I was ehhh I'm gonna give a chance but when I saw my meal it was the smallest kids meal I ever saw ! And top it off there was only one sauce in my bag wow read more

1/2 chicken combo, fried yuca, and black beans were great. Quick eats and authentic. I drive 15 mins out of my way to eat here when I have plenty of options close by. read more

Best Peruvian chicken place in the area! I've been to 2 others in the area but their chicken was not as seasoned and flavorful as Pollo Peru. Will definitely be making more stops here for lunch! read more

Probably the best Peruvian chicken I've ever had. I was used to chicken without deep seasoning and had grown to not like it so much. Had pollo Peru after my dad pushed me to try it and it was amazing. The sauces are a must try and the chicken is to die for. I always order takeout from here, the best place for chicken 100%. read more

The best thing about this place is the Yuca rolls. Crispy outside and tender delicious inside. The chicken here is well prepared with a nice smoky flavor. The Yuca and plantains are well prepared and delicious. One thing of note is that they do an amazing job of keeping the kitchen spotless, always scrubbing the various pieces of equipment. read more

This is my new favorite place! The chicken is flavorful and moist. The fried yucca is hot and fried perfectly. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. The staff is pleasant and helpful. read more

I totally don't understand how this place doesn't have 5 stars. For what it is- an inexpensive quick place focusing on one central food (Peruvian chicken) it is awesome. Clean, with friendly folks at the counter, they were patient while we picked out our food (1/4 chicken and sides). Black beans and yucca were both delicious, as were both the sauces they include with the plate. My only regret is that I didn't find this place sooner!! Will definitely be hitting this place up again soon. Chicken was crispy outside and juicy and smoky inside. Get over the non- fancy outside and get in here!!! read more

I order here once a week. Why? Because the birds a good size, it's seasoned perfectly, slow cooked over lumped charcoal, and cooked perfectly. I can account for 4 other Peruvian chicken spots nearby that either serve small chicken, over seasoned, over cooked, and or watered down sauce. Here the white meat is never dry, the season is blended to perfection, the skin is slightly crispy, and the green sauce is thick and flavorful. They also use real rice, not that uncle bens parboiled crap. Real flavor chicken with quality ingredients. read more

This is the best chicken I have ever had. Incredible!!! Once you try the Peruvian seasoning and side dishes, you will never want plain rotisserie chicken again. Friendly service as well. read more

This is our favorite place to get chicken in the area. Great menu, really tasty sauces, and sandwiches that are perfection.

Still love the food, but wanted to note that when I came in the other day, there was literally nobody in there. I ordered to-go, and sat back to wait for my friend to order...but they completely ignored her. They proceeded to fill my order (which took a bit of time) and then took hers once they handed me my food. This wasn't a big deal, but the reason my food took a bit longer was because a manager or somebody came up to the ladies who were working on our order and showed them a video on their phone. Again, we were the only people there, they couldn't have waited until we left to watch the video? read more

Great classic Peruvian rotisserie chicken with fries and salad- what's different about this place is they have more than just French fries , yuca, and rice as sides. They also offer kids meals and a couple sandwich options too. You have to try the Alfajor cookies- so delicious! My only complaint is that often they run out of chicken towards the later hours or the wait can be long if they are busy. Otherwise a solid Peruvian chicken place! read more

I would give this place 5 stars for its well chargrilled chicken and excellent service but the fries seemed a bit unflavored and a bit dry . Other than that you have to go!! read more

This place is running out of chicken. It's pretty delicious so I am not surprised. The place is always a little smoky inside but its the kind of smoky that makes you want to eat everything coming out of that damn oven. The chicken is super flavorful and moist. You can tell that an effort was made. The sides are all kind of so-so. Not a great selection and not that tasty. My bf's favorite option is getting the rice and beans as a single side. Somehow the flan is always sold out though. There's a bit of a wait so recommending that you call in to order ahead. But if you live near here, delicious chicken is always close by. read more

I love this place! I get a whole chicken and it's always tender and juicy! The yellow sauce is really good but the green sauce is super hot! My Husband love this place which is saying something...he's very picky! read more

I've been ordering food every week or 2 from this restaurant for the past couple years and I will continue to do so. It's fantastic. The place is super simple and doesn't have a diverse menu, but what they do serve is delicious. All of their food is made with care and is very consistent. The chicken is super tender, juicy, and well seasoned, they fill their sandwiches to the brim with meat, veggies and sauce, their french fries are thick and flavorful, the sauces are delicious and savory, and their alfajor cookies are just... amazing... you need to eat one to know what I'm talking about. Northern Virginia has a lot of great Peruvian chicken locations, and this is one of the best. Any fan of Peruvian chicken should give this place a shot. And - AAAANNNNNDDDDD - they take online orders, you can pay online, AND you can schedule your orders ahead of time, AND the staff is really friendly. Please just do yourself a favor real quick: go to their website and order a whole chicken, 2 large sides of rice, 4 green sauces, and 1 alfajor cookie. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have always been a huge fan of Peruvian chicken, but didn't like trekking to King Pollo in Sterling. I was near this place so I decided to give it a chance. I was not disappointed and may be switching my loyalty... My boyfriend and I ordered a whole chicken with two sides (to have left overs for lunch). The chicken's seasoning was so delicious and the chicken itself was so juicy! I am sad they don't have many sides to offer, but the Yucca and Salad were both very good. I will definitely be back! read more

A roller coaster ride. I have had bad and good experiences at this location. The owner resolved the issue the last time but it got old and I'm done. I feel like I have to convince this place to take my money. I ordered 3 half chickens with all white meat. I was told sorry we only have "regular meat" which I assume means dark meat. I said I would wait and could order later and they literally said sorry. I then said ok if it's a pricing issue then charge me for 6 quarter white meals. Again they said we cant do that. funny thing is this is not a new issue, it's something I have experienced in person at the location. The last time I tried to make a similar order I was told "sorry we don't have enough, you have to wait." I said ok and sat there for like 30 minutes. the ISSUE is that I watched many customers walk in and order white meat orders in smaller numbers and were served immediately. This is a bad business model. typically it's first come first serve. - if it's a pricing issue then add an up charge OR state you cannot order a half chicken all white meat. - If a supply versus demand then rethink your business model. read more

I live right near this place and have known it to be a revolving door of restaurants, with Omia's being the only one that stayed a while since the old Pizza Hut. I had seen the renovations going on this time, so I wanted to check it out for a while (wasn't really sure what Peruvian chicken was... for some reason I was thinking a type of kabob, maybe jerk flavor?) but I kept putting it off. Didn't look like a bar-place (which I like for dinners) but it was lunchtime so it seemed like a good time to try takeout. Not many cars in the parking lot so I almost changed my mind, but I think I got there just before lunch-rush because a steady stream of people came in after me. I'm SO glad I finally tried it! The first thing I noticed is...it looks SO MUCH NICER! Very clean and modern. It no longer seems like an old pizza hut!! The second thing I noticed was at least 30 rotisserie chickens over the fire pit. (so my kabob notion was way off). I ordered 1/4 chicken with sides of sweet potato fries & black beans. The white meat and the sweet potatoes were extra charges and overall it was on the upper limit of what I'd like to spend on lunch, but...everything was delicious. VERY delicious. Tender, juicy chicken and a nice skin (tho I usually don't eat the skin) but I could resist eating some of this cause it was so tasty. I couldn't eat the lunch all in one sitting so in that respect that was almost 2 meals ...except the beans were gone on the first session. They are so good, I thought about the beans the entire next day! The meal comes with two small sauces and I loved the spicy green one!! (hopefully you can ask for 2 spicy sauces instead of one mild and one hot). I am definitely interested in repeating that meal, and also trying more things on the menu. I hope this place stays a long time! read more

Holy cow this place is immaculately clean! The food is Amazing! Great rotisserie cooked chicken: juicy and flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. The sides are equally as impressive: fresh salad, spicy beans, moist and tender rice. But seriously the most impressive part is how clean this place is!!! The tables and floors are spotless, the kitchen is well organized and just as clean! I come here all the time and you should too! read more

Great food for a very reasonable cost - what more can you ask for? I went on a Sunday and it was fairly busy. The owners did a great job at remodeling the building and it is clean and bright. The chicken I had was moist and so tasty and the portion plentiful. You would never know this was a former Pizza Hut and other places since. I hope they do really well in this location! Will definitely go back. read more

Great chicken. service is fast for the most part. 1/4 chicken meal is a little overpriced for the chicken portion, great place overall.

Do not eat here if you are health conscious or sensitive to MSG as they LOAD it in their spice used on the chicken. Besides being a mediocre rub, it gave me a debilitating headache the rest of the day. read more

Juicy chicken with very good sides. The fries were my least favorite. Were a little over fried. Yucca is great if you eat while hot. Love the green spicy sauce.
