Manager was the worst

I was here today. Drive thru and had a bad experience. Bad service, had us waiting for long time gave some else our chicken had to wait extra time to have more chicken cooked. Didn't communicate it to us literally had to get out the car and walk in to find out we come from Sarasota and literally had to sit here just waiting on order for about 30 min or more. Drive thru kept going dine in as well it was only mine order stuck I don't understand how they can do this

As a fried chicken enthusiast, I had to stop in and try Pollo Campero. The girl standing at the counter was counting something then just stared at me like I was bothering her. Didn't even greet me, I had to ask her if she was ready to take my order. I asked for an 8 piece fried and grilled mix with mixed meat, not dark only. She said she had to check if they had grilled. She came back and said that they didn't have that many but they'll fill the order. Just to be sure I was understanding, I asked if that meant I'd get 4 grilled pieces or less? She said you'll get 4, I said okay. $22 later, I was home with fried and grilled pieces to try. I felt the grilled pieces needed a bit more color and was too lemony in flavor and the fried was too salty. It tasted very similar to Winn-Dixie's fried chicken. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't be returning.

I had high expectations for Pollo Campero, but honestly, I was disappointed. The service was okay, but the food--especially the chicken--was cold, and the fries were also cold. Judging by the appearance of the fried chicken, the oil needs to be replaced and properly filtered. It seems like the fryer oil has been reused for too long without being changed, which affects both the color and the flavor of the chicken. They really need to improve the quality of their food. I definitely won't be coming back, and I don't recommend eating their chicken.

Got the fried chicken, and grilled chicken, plantains and the beans. Came out cooked perfectly, fresh, and delicious. Would recommend trying it out!

Roasted chicken was so dry! Horrible! Fried chicken was too greasy. Yuca had no taste. Service sucked. Sad!

I've been coming here regularly for about a year and a half now, and everything I've had has been…read moreso good. Their fried chicken is the best I've ever had, and the spice levels are actually legit. But my favorite thing on the menu is the peri peri chicken. The peri peri chicken is CRAZY good. It's a South African-style grilled chicken served with fries, and I always get the corn ribs on the side too. The chicken sits on top of a tortilla, which I use to soak up all the juices and eat with the chicken. Even though it's grilled, it's unbelievably moist every single time. It's packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and ridiculously juicy. I seriously cannot get enough of it, and I HIGHLY recommend everyone try it. If it's not the best grilled chicken in Tampa, it's definitely one of the best. And don't skip the sauces. The ranch, blue cheese, and garlic sauce are my favorites, but the peri sauce is delicious too!

We tried this place about a year ago, and we had a completely different experience than before. I can honestly say, I won't be back. Not ever. Not even a chance. This place is filthy. The floors, the tables, the bathrooms (the worst I have ever seen), and even the napkin holders. I had immediate regrets upon stepping in based on the lack of cleanliness. The amount of flies swarming was alarming. The service was a zero. The girl working watched us order at the kiosk, the kiosk wouldn't let us pay, we tell her, and she says "oh it doesn't work." So we ordered with her even though she sat around watching us waste our time. I ordered a wing meal, told her I wanted the wings injected, and she said "we don't inject them. I will give you sauce on the side." The menu clearly says they inject wings, social media videos always show it, and also, my last visit there was also injected wings but she would give me no explanation other than "I will give you the sauce on the side." It was bizarre and I couldn't even get a "we don't do that anymore" from her. We ordered a chicken sando. The quality was horrible. Chicken tasted overly processed with bad texture. We also ordered a wing combo. The wings were flavorless. Absolutely flavorless. I ordered medium and there was zero spice. Not even a tad. Apparently they don't inject their wings anymore so there was no flavor in the wings. The quality was pretty bad. Also, the "sauce on the side" that the girl working promised me was not the sauce I ordered, it was the sauce she chose. The whole ordering experience was odd. Definitely seemed like someone who did not care about providing good service, good food, or a sanitary environment. We waited about 25 minutes for our food. About 3 people came in to get pickup orders while we waited and no one else. So we sat and waited while the flys swarmed our heads. The cashier never once tried to come out and clean the filthy tables. She even paused doing nothing for a restroom break, used the filthy restroom, came out with WET hands, and grabbed a napkin from the dusty napkin holder on the filthy table to dry her hands. Then still never wiped down the table caked with food debris. Absolute terrible level of cleanliness, care, and service. It ruined my appetite. After waiting that long, the Mac n cheese was ice cold. 25 minutes for Mac n cheese with a chill to it and no heat. I'm convinced they pulled it out of the refrigerator and forgot to heat it up. This place just had too many misses: a lack of quality, a lack of good service, and a lack of any sanitation standards. Never again. We didn't finish our food. We threw it away outside.

Some places you build up in your head for a while...and then they actually live up to it…read more After wanting to try @everglazeddonuts for a minute, my son and I finally pulled up on a slow Sunday with one goal in mind...chicken and donuts. First impression? Bright, clean, and super inviting. The branding and artwork pop, and the open kitchen window where you can watch everything being made is a power move. That level of transparency always earns points with me. We went all in: #4 Hot Honey Chicken Tender Combo - 3 jumbo tenders tossed in hot honey garlic, fries, and a mini glazed donut #5 Fried Chicken Sandwich Combo - 2 tenders with honey mustard and pickles Plus four Mega Donuts: Peanut Butter Explosion, Caramel & Sea Salt, Cookies & Cream, and Cinnamon Roll Let's start with the donuts... These Mega Donuts are no joke. Thick, loaded, and extremely filling. Every single one hit. The Peanut Butter Explosion and Cookies & Cream stood out, but honestly there wasn't a weak link in the lineup. Now the chicken... The Hot Honey Tenders were juicy, flavorful, and coated in a sauce that had that sweet heat balance. The flavor oddly reminded me of something you'd get from Panda Express, but in the best way possible. The mini glazed donut on the side? Dangerous. Soft, sweet, and the perfect contrast to the tenders. The Chicken Sandwich was just as solid. Same juicy tenders, perfectly balanced with honey mustard and pickles so nothing overpowered the bite. Fries? They were fine. Nothing crazy, nothing bad...just there. Everything came out fresh, and even though there was a small wait (which makes sense for made-to-order food), the staff still apologized. That kind of service doesn't go unnoticed. Final verdict... Great food, great atmosphere, and a concept that actually delivers on both sides of the menu. We'll definitely be back, especially to check out the breakfast menu before 11am and grab some of the donuts we missed when they sold out earlier. This one lived up to the hype!
