Wanted to try something new abs this place was just minutes from work. Wanted something authentic when it came to tacos and the pictures of the food from others looked good. They opened at 11am so we headed out and arrived about 11:15ish. Greeted right when we walked in. Appeared as though they just opened since we were there so early. The place didn't smell scrumptious just yet. We placed our order and it was out in about 15 minutes. You could definitely tell the taco and Gordita shells were freshly made. Loved the crunch of the Gordita -- never had anything like this before. The meat (pork for the taco and chicken for the Gordita) were a bit dry and not much flavor. Had to add a lot of the verde sauce. Staff was super nice. And lunch was cheap. The place is small and the plaza it's in is small also. Parking is rather tight. Also be aware that there are people seeking money around this plaza -- the lady even walked into the restaurant and asked the staff if they could loan her some cash until April 4th to which they all declined. read more

This spot popped up on my Yelp Hot & New and it went directly to my list. I tried a variety of tacos (yea I got 4...check the pic) all on corn tortillas, which came out of the kitchen piping hot and all delivered amazing authentic flavours. Lolis take note, this place is competition and that's a big compliment. The carnitas and lengua were the two standouts...but really...they all were great. The protein portions were more than I typically see and the flavours and cook were perfect. Is this a capital taco...no...nor is it trying to be. This is the place you go to when you want a authentic taste of Mexico. When you want a taco with a great protein (or veg) and some diced onion with a little cilantro...you know what I'm talking about. Get the sour cream and cheese elsewhere. Definitely over priced for bland tacos. Tacos range from $2.49-$2.99. They could have at least added more meat or more onion/cilantro. These are less than average street tacos that you can get for $1. I ordered two chicken and one Asada. I was quite disappointed as I was expecting what the reviews said. $8.99 and I'm thinking of what else to eat for lunch. I'm not even a heavy eater. I weigh 144. Still hungry. Found this while in the area after 9pm looking for food! They are open until 10 on weekdays! Score 1! The menu was pretty extensive tacos, to tamales, gorditas and more! There was 2 people working that night a man and woman both friendly. Limited on English but did just fine understanding us and welcoming us. 3 of us ate with 2 sodas for just over 20. The food was very good and more authentic than some other taco places. So the lack of the 4th star is for 2 reasons. The service was pretty slow for a Mexican place. The food was served hot but it took about 20 minutes to get out to the table. For a taco place I felt like that was a long time. 2nd the location isn't the greatest. A run down strip mall with a sports bar next door that even on a weeknight blasts music so loud the entire place booms and vibrates. Me and the husband were carving some authentic tacos and this little place showed up in our search. We ordered the Quesadilla de Camaron and the tacos pescadores, it was delicious. Ordered take out, the owner was very nice. Everything tasted fresh, very pleased. Overall, this wasn't a bad experience! I was searching through DoorDash for a good Mexican place and wanted to try somewhere new, as I haven't found a good place since Tampa Taco Co. closed down. This place was pretty good compared to all the other local places we've tried! While the steak on the tacos was light in quantity, the flavor and quality seemed good and I devoured all three. I was a little disappointed that the tamales were out of stock, I was excited about trying them but I may be back again so I'll have another opportunity I'm sure. I asked for hot sauce and was disappointed to find only one ramekin of verde sauce in the container, a sauce that typically doesn't pack a punch in my experience. Unfortunately, I was right and was a little let down by the lack of heat in this hot sauce but thankfully I had my own product at home to add that brought it to where I needed. I was impressed that I didn't get any funky steak bits, and I believe the tortillas to be a white corn, though I did have to almost question if they were flour based on the texture of them. Holy cow! I have never had to wait for an order this long. We ordered food at 712 and it's now 756. Just crazy.

2 stars because my first couple of visits weren't as bad and the last two times. I ordered tacos for take out after work and got home to find they forgot onions/cilantro. If you're anything like me I could not eat them without it and I had to take them back. They offered to add the onions/ cilantro on top of my now soggy tacos. I could tell they weren't happy when I demanded fresh tacos or a refund. The last visit my husband ordered a burrito with only meat since he doesn't eat veggies, they mention there's an up-charge and he agreed to pay it. Then they said they couldn't do that.. So he had to order tacos instead. We thought that was odd, I guess they didn't have enough meat? Our tacos were very bland and barely had meat, for the price you pay I'd say it's not worth it. Just stopped as a passer by on my way home from work. Had no idea what to expect! Before I stopped I quickly yelled it from my phone and there was only one review and it say closed, although it was 5:30pm on a Wednesday. Nevertheless I saw they were open and stopped. Let me just start off by saying I am no Mexican food critique but I do take great pride in the fact that I lived in San Diego for 3 years and had the luxury and convenience of always having a taco shop within a half mile radius and took full advantage. Thus I know fresh Mexican and THIS IS FRESH and seems to be pretty authentic! Almost close to San Diego and Tijuana! The steak taco was incredible, but they didn't put any pico or guacamole on it like I'm used to. Priced accordingly and very good customer service. Service is quick and the restaurant is very very clean. When I was ordering, I saw a delivery man from what seemed to be like an Uber eats company picking up an order so that's pretty cool that they offer this service. Otherwise, not a soul was in the place which is extremely unfortunate. More people need to discover this amazing little taco joint you will be glad you did!!!! read more

In my constant quest for good, authentic Mexican food in Tampa Bay, I'm willing to break out from my regular go to's and try new places because you never know. And it's good to have back ups for your usual haunts. Tried Tacos 4G based on reviews and I found fellow yelpers to be most accurate. I tried the Asada and Carnitas tacos, as well as their chicken tamale. All were authentic, and very tasty when coupled with an ice cold Modelo. Carnitas were spot on, but asada, while tasty, was not as good as it should be. Service was relatively indifferent, and pricing was just a tad too high for what you get. Not over priced per se for Tampa, but not as good as the price they are asking. Tacos 4G won't dethrone Loli's any time soon, but worthy of 4 stars. Tacos 4G is by far the best authentic Mexican in the Tampa Bay Area. We know. We've looked. Be expected to wait because all the food is cooked to order and it is absolutely worth the wait. There's usually just two maybe three people working so be sure you're not in a rush. The chorizo has so much flavor and is the closest you'll get to the real Mexican chorizo. We love their tacos (steak and chorizo), the sopes are so mouthwatering-not soggy with the texture that you'd expect from a sope and the gorditas are as close as I'll get to Leon. Disappointed with what we got. $500 worth of food ordered for 11:15 AM, we left there at 11:45, 30 minutes late. For toppings, we got limes, no cheese/queso, no chips, no sour cream, no other condiments at all. Tamales had far too much masa/cornmeal on them. The flavors and tortillas were fine, which is why it isn't just 1 star, just a severe lack of anything extra. Not what I would expect for 125 tacos and 25 tamales for $500. Tacos were awesome, and the shrimp taco included avocado My only recommendation for improvement is that they have more people on staff at the same time. I've been here twice , both times picking up orders and neither of times has anyone kindly approached me despite my standing at the register obviously seeking assistance.
