yum - best Mex in Tampa
Anne R.

Maybe I have already reviewed ... but I love this place, it's food, and it's convenience. As close to Baja or So Cal Mexican as I have experienced in Tampa. Delicious & inexpensive - service is quick - the ambiance feels like a street vendor in Baja at 1a so it may not be for everyone, but I am happy to sit in my air conditioned car or at picnic tables when it's not 1000%. Thanks Brent for turning me on to it - best turn on you had to offer and grateful for it.

On a little self perpeled Tampa taco truck tour. Grabbed a birria taco and I'll give it a two out of five star. It's ok.

Classic Mexican Taco - Steak and Pork
Allison C.

Overall, not the worst experience I've had recently but ended on an upsetting note. I ordered 2 steak tacos and a pork in addition to chips and salsa with clear instructions for Mexican style on the tacos. The first bite I took of the steak was good until I came across a giant chewy piece of fat (not in a good way). I noticed upon taking a deeper look, that a portion of the meat was lower quality and had to be removed. The red sauce had a great kick to it and was very spicy, the salsa verde didn't have any heat but had some light flavor. I found it most enjoyable when mixing some of the verde with the red for the tacos. The chips and salsa is where my heart was broken, I was initially a little bummed to have paid $3.50 for it when I only got two half filled ramekins of salsa. I became even more upset when I found the salsa to be like watered down tomato juice, no cilantro, onions, or anything in sight. The chips were greasy, but clearly fresh and very enjoyable which just made having the flavorless salsa even worse. This side would have been a winner if they amped up their salsa and added LITERALLY any ingredient to it. Thankfully, the leftover hot sauce and salsa verde allowed me to still get a bit of the chips in me. Overall- I wouldn't recommend the chips and salsa, but the guacamole might be worth checking out. The tacos were good and fresh but they need a bit higher quality of meat for me to feel satisfied. But all in all, this experience definitely wasn't the worst and I'd probably check them out again in awhile but would keep looking if I have a choice.

The food was good, wish the steak had more flavor and less fatty sides. Overall worth the price per quantity :)

Steak burrito "the works" -- $8. Yes! It's AMAZING

OMG. Honestly, those were the first words out of my mouth immediately after biting into my burrito! OMG OMG OMG I had the preconceived notion that this would be no more than a 4 star experience because of the following: No ground beef is used in their entrees, the sour cream (if you want it) goes inside the burrito (which could lead to soggy leftovers), the food is from a food truck, & I am an otherwise loyal fan of TacoSon. Oh, how I was mistaken! I've never before bit into food & called out to the Almighty himself! Seriously, this was the BEST burrito I've ever tasted, & I normally detest steak in my burritos, tacos, etc. The steak was tender & cut into very small pieces. The wrap itself far outshined any I've ever eaten; it had lots of flavor & it wasn't chewy. I can't explain it other than to say it was quite different & excellent. I didn't even add mild sauce (or any other sauce) because the burrito was perfect just the way it was served. (See pic.) Is there a downside to Pinch A Taco? It's not easy to get to in rush hour traffic on Nebraska Ave if you're coming from the opposite direction, I had to take back roads to successfully reach it-- where I encountered not one, but two "working girls," & eating outside on a picnic table in the Chevron gas station's parking lot won't really impress a date. But, if you love GREAT Mexican food, love supporting a local family owned business, & want a quick meal to go, this is where it's at! They accept cash & all major credit/debit cards. The vegan jalapeño chili was last night. Tonight it's the real deal-- steak burrito night! So incredibly yummy:) 5 stars for Pinch A Taco!

If you're looking for really good cheap tacos and/or burritos, Pinch A Taco might be your place. I decided to come check out this food truck because I was in the mood for tacos. It's at a gas station which was a little hard to navigate since there wasn't a lot of parking otherwise and I didn't want to park at a pump. I found a spot that I assumed was ok and walked up to the truck. Pinch A Taco was so decently priced! I was surprised and definitely felt like I got the bang for the buck. No one else was there so I ordered quickly at the window. I decided to get a steak burrito all the way and two al pastor tacos (for $2 each!!) on corn tortillas the Mexican way, as they described, which was strictly onions and cilantro. I decided to take it to go because it's hot and the location wasn't the best to stay and eat at. This is where I caution against getting tacos or burritos all the way. By the time I got home my burrito was soggy and the tortilla was falling apart as I was eating it. The burrito was steak, lettuce, ferries beans, avocado, cheese, and sour cream. It was densely filled with iceberg lettuce which I will advise on asking for easy lettuce. The tacos were good and I'm glad I ordered those without the sour cream so they were not soggy. Overall this place was delicious and I will definitely try it again!

Asada Plate
David V.

Awesome, had a DoorDash delivery and within twenty mins at my door with some of the best Mexican food to cross the old tongue. Asada plate included a huge piece of sirloin grilled perfectly medium rare, grilled onions, Mexican rice, grill fresh jalapeño, a side salad, refried beans, limes, and freshly made guacamole. It also came with heated corn tortillas. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and executed with care. The price at $12.00 is a great value. Its hard to find food like this because people don't care enough. Then you come across pinch a taco and you find the hands of someone who cares about the final product and cares how people perceive the business. 99% Chance you will love your meal and come back for more

Not going to get better in the bay. I am speaking strictly tacos and have not sampled their burritos or other offerings. This group not only has great tacos but appear better organized than the last group who ran this truck. They are well stocked with drinks, have a more expansive menu, and were open despite rain/inclement weather. Anyone who ate at the last taco truck knows this is a marked improvement. The prices are also very good considering we got 8 tacos and two drinks for about $20. Three tacos are probably enough and they had a good special going for $7 that we bypassed also. Looks like a great lunch option and the wait was about 5 minutes total. Hope people don't penalize them for the lackluster management of the prior ownership and gets this group rolling. Tampa needs authentic Mexican good badly.

All there proteins are great!

Date: 12-10-18 Time: 1145 Brief: Great no frills authentic tacos served a good price. Saw this place on the ole Yelp and I was right down the road ( shout out to MD Market) so I decided to get some petrol and tacos.... because....well tacos. I got 4 tacos to try all there proteins, for the sake of research of course and I got them all with cilantro/onions. I was surprised at how good they were! Meats were cooked perfectly and had great flavour. The green sauce was spicy and fresh and worked excellently on all of them. Check this spot on next time your in the area.

We go here at least once a week and we will never not go! It is amazing. The corn tortillas and chorizo is amazing, the nachos are amazing, my friends had the shrimp ceviche once and loved it. Great service also!

Ok, this is where I'll grab some food. Popped in and was quickly greeted, as I looked over the menu at the counter the girl stepped up and asked if she could help me, she gave me a few recommendations. I went with a couple different tacos, a pork tamale and a bag of chips. I have to apologize, I almost always take pictures of the food before shoveling it into my mouth, but I was hungry and this looked delicious. I pictures. The reviews weee unquestionably correct and this place is incredible. My favorite (which was difficult to pick just one) was the Campechano taco...the flavor was out of this world. I had a steak taco and the pork tamale...absolutely incredible. I hate to rave about something without some sort of criticism...nothing can be perfect right? Well, the food was spot on, don't change a thing. My only small poke would have been that the bottled Coke was cold, but not ice cold...and if that's the most negative thing you can say, well then...this place is a 10 out of 10. I highly recommend...I just wish I lived in the area to enjoy it more often! Tampa, you're lucky to have a place this great!

They have some standard dishes you'd…read moreexpect but it's prepared so much better with fresh ingredients and modifications that really elevate the dish. For example, nachos with chicken where it's grilled tender and flavorful, and not pulled or dry like others. The meats in the tacos are always full of flavor and the right consistency. My very favorite taco is surprisingly the sweet potato one though. It's an explosion of flavor and medley of textures. Service is always wonderful and the bartenders friendly. I love how casual and clean the restaurant is too.

The server was not attentive, we ordered drinks and never got asked if we wanted more after finishing our first which we wanted to try more options or came back to check on us. We also never got a refill on water and the food was NEVER removed from our table even with dessert ordered for the bday. We just had a dirty table throughout which is a first for a bib (Michelin Guide) restaurant that I have been to. Dessert was just dropped off and walked away after ordering it 1 minute before. Very dissatisfied with the meal and experience especially because my grandmother came to treat me and this was not worth her money, was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday.
