Muchachas truly stands out when it comes to the delivery of a great tasting and reliable meal as it stands to the surrounding competition at Armature Works - that latter statement doesn't come lightly as there are some big heavy-hitters when it comes to great food. Their Quesatacos slaps like none other, producing a passionate re-imagination of the traditional birria tacos. The fusion of the cheese, onions, and cilantros along with the birria meat which is then sandwiched between the fried tortilla stack is a wonder within itself. A small bowl of birria dip is paired with these tacos to create an amazing dish like none other. Each bite captures the flavor of the "au jus"-style dip, the tenderness of the meat, and the crunchiness of the tortilla. Along with the flavors, the quesataco truly gives the foodie an around-the-world experience in one dish. ...and oh yes, their other menu items, which I am sure are great options as well. On approach, Muchachas almost takes on a Chipotle vibe when it comes to their assembly line. However, the wait is worth it while each of their staff members are incredibly pleasant and friendly which makes the entire transaction great. All-in-all, Muchachas is truly a staple of the Armature Works complex. I highly recommend Muchachas as your option to go with as you will not be disappointed!
Located within Armature works, at the far right end of the food hall. The service was quick considering it was Saturday lunch hour. I ordered the Birria tacos, which comes with your choice of mild, medium or hot sauce. I choose mild, then after asked if they can put some hot on the side as I wanted to give 1 of the tacos to my husband to try with the hotter sauce. They added $2 to the bill, which I politely had them remove immediately. Wasn't happy about that up charge. Anyhow, I was recommended that this place would beat my favorite Birria taco spot in Brandon, so welcome to a showdown. The 3 Birria tacos here for $16, is $1 more expensive than my fav spot. The tacos are smaller here, less meat and cheese, and had a tortilla deep fried aspect that wasn't too shabby. Gave it a nice crunch. However you kinda lose sight of that with the oily broth and taco meat. The flavor was good, I didn't even taste the mild sauce, the birria broth was also flavorful but a bit too greasy IMO, and the side of salsa condiment (included) was the only thing I would say was amazing. Overall it IS a good birria taco but doesn't come close to topping LCT (acronym). The overall ambiance is food hall, always well kept and plenty of seating. So to answer the magic question if I would return or not, yes I would but only if I was at the food hall already. They are a good Birria taco and better than many other places.
The quesa-tacos are the specialty and were very good. They were a bit more greasy that I would like but that must come from a bit of bushy use when they cook them on the grill. Gotta say though .... It's worth the indulgence and they were VG! Staff was super nice
The birria tacos were excellent. Very meaty & cheesy. The service is quick. The line goes by very fast. They give you a buzzer to alert you when your order is ready. Lots of people working back there, however, appears very efficient service. They let you know they have napkins & plasticware. Counter area is clean & gives you clear view of the soft drinks they serve.
There's a reason the line is crazy at peak hours! I went twice while I was in town even though there were plenty of restaurants in Tampa I wanted to try out. The quesabirria tacos might just be the best I've ever had. I loved them so much. Super messy, super good. If you aren't familiar with Armature Works, (muchachas is inside) it's a food hall (home town equivalent Reno Public Market) but this one sits on the water of Tampa Bay, there is a ton of seating inside and out but it still gets busy as this is also near the riverwalk. It looked like a lot of people in front of me were ordering like you would at Chipotle where they make it right there and you get it at the end immediately, mine I had to wait for a minute to be cooked. Would 10/10 recommend.
We ordered through uber eats. We had the queso, guac, a burrito, and 3 tacos. Our food was okay. It wasn't bad by any means but I would never recommend it to someone or tell them they needed to go here. The queso and guac portions were quite small and there were not enough chips either. Not a bad experience but no reason to go back.
Pretty good burrito bowl! Staff was super friendly. I got ground pork, rice, peppers & onions, cotija, and a lime cream sauce. It was delicious and a very standard portion of food. I like that I could just go through the line and choose my toppings.
If you haven't tried a walking taco, then this is the best place to try for the first time. Their hefty portions make this dish shareable with a friend! There's so many toppings like fresh guac, beans, cojita cheese and more! I was kinda worried about the crushed Doritos but it actually pairs great with the whole meal! I can't wait to visit again and try their other offerings. Service was quick despite the long line and it's housed inside of a food hall with lots of seating inside or outside in the beautiful weather

On this day in particular, I wanted something that was fast and fresh. I came across Muchachas, and it not only looked delicious, but I love places where you can build your own bowls. I chose a rice base with chicken, roasted corn, pico de gallo, guac, cheese, and just a drizzle of avocado crema, which was highly recommended to me by the staff member preparing my bowl (and it was a great choice, might I add). The portion size was great and definitely sharable or can even be saved for lunch the next day. The rice was restocked right before I ordered, so my bowl was extra hot. The guac was delicious and very fresh tasting, which paired well with the other flavors in my bowl. The next time I have Muchachas I would love to try their queso. There was a small line, but it moved quickly and the service was great. I would definitely recommend this spot for a quick and yummy meal.
Inside of the popular Armature Works near the Riverwalk. I don't think I've ever walked into this place, and it has not been crowded. It was my first time trying this place. The line moved fast, and putting together this monster burrito was even faster. You have your choices like you would at Qdoba or Moe's. Make it as big or small as you want. They have a good selection of soft drinks. If you care to have something a bit stronger, there are several bars inside. Lastly, seating is a premium, especially on the weekends. The best thing is, if you're able, find a seat first and have someone hold it for you. It can also be a bit loud inside. Outside is a good choice too as they sometimes have live music. But again, seating is a premium. Overall, it was a tasty creation and very filling. Go there if you have a big appetite.
Yes yes and yes! The BEST walking taco I've ever had. For $16, it feeds two perfectly. They allow you to pick exactly what you want in it which is perfect for those with dietary restrictions. We got the birra steak and it was bomb! So tasteful and craveable.

What a nice place at Armature works. We came here for a quick lunch before heading back home on Sunday. The line was very quick, service was quick and friendly, food was reasonably priced and food was very good. I had a burrito bowl and my husband had a burrito. We definitely enjoyed our food. Food was fresh, and tasty. Guac was also very nicely made. read more

I've been following Muchachas on tik tok for a LONG time and was finally in the area so my bf and i stopped by to try it. Let me just say I had HIGH expectations for this place and in no way did it disappoint. They are super informative of all the options and they walk you down the line while building your walking taco answering any questions you may have. It was definitely busy as it was a Saturday but the food hall and all the seating was clean and It was very lively. I'd almost compare it to having lunch with a friend in the high school cafeteria but like in a good way LOL I will definitely be coming back to have muchachas again and try some other options at armature works :) read more
Let's start with the man on the line was very nice. I came 2x in one day (day time and night time for vibes) day time the food was great. Walkin taco was so freaking good and the Doritos stayed crunchy. However, later that night when I came back I recommended this place to a few people I came with and they were disappointed in the food. I'll start by saying I only gave 4 stars bc I prefer my tortilla a tiny bit softer. Otherwise, everything was wonderful! I've been to Armature Works plenty of times but never to Muchachas, though I've always heard such great things so since I was near by I decided to check it out and boy am I glad! For starters the service was great. You start at one end and pay at the next then get a buzzer for when the food is ready. It wasn't a long wait at all which was a plus. They seemed to be the busiest at the time I was around, which is also always a good sign. The tacos were AMAZING. Flavor wise, they are definitely the best I've ever had and I've tried so so many, even in the Tampa Bay Area. I will be dreaming about these for awhile and will for sure be back to get them soon. This place is in our book whenever we are craving for the Birria taco. I know there are places close by Wesley Chapel but we enjoy hanging out at Amature work, especially in the evening right before sunset. We have eaten here many times before. However, the last time we ate, the tacos were perfectly seasoned and the broth was not salty unlike the other time. There are plenty of tables and places to sit inside or outside Amature Work. Highly recommend this shop! read more
The Walking Taco was delicious! This spot is located inside Heights Public Market food hall which offers a variety of food choices. We decided to try Muchachas and were not disappointed. You choose what toppings you want for your meal and there is a large selection of topping and sauces. We didn't have the tacos this visit but they looked delicious as well. Everything was really fresh and flavorful. Once you have your food you have a large selection of indoor/outdoor seating. It was a beautiful day so we opted for the outdoor seating close to the water. Perfect for family or date night. read more
Wow, food here is very expensive for their walking tacos. it's made to order so you'll be able to pick what you like inside the bag of Doritos. I believe cheese sauce is extra cost as well. Pretty pricy for what you get IMHO. Food was decent and nothing out of this world that I would come back here again. Lines were pretty long during rush hour times, overall it went by quick. read more

Was looking for somewhere to bring my out of town boyfriend and decided to stop in Armature Works. I tried muchachas for the first time and ordered the Quesa Birria tacos with a side of street corn. Definitely one of the best birria tacos I've ever eaten. They also had the option to top your street corn with different sauces and so I just the avocado lime ranch and it really kicked it up a notch flavor wise. The man that took my order was very helpful and inviting and I didn't have a long wait for my food. read more

Food 12/10 Ambiance 7/10 Service 100/10, Shoutout to Antonio for his amazing recommendations. So happy that I could trust him! Muchachas is inside of a food hall type of place but don't let that fool you. Although it is fast paced, they were not lacking in flavor AT ALL. I personally got the quesotacos and the street corn and both were bursting with flavor. If you ever find yourself in this area do yourself a favor and please stop by, I know I'm coming back! read more

Was down in Tampa for the Justin Timberlake concert. Armature Works is one of my favorite food halls in the Tampa area. Before the concert decided to stop by Muchachas. I'm a lover of QuesaBirria Tacos and their Quesa Tacos were on point. These tacos are loaded with Birria meat, Monterey jack cheese, white onion, & cilantro. They are served with Beef Consome and a side of salsa. They are served, nice hot & crispy. So much flavor in those dang tacos. They have a full menu of delicious items. Next time I'm in Tampa I'm gonna have to try some other menu items. read more

Well, visiting Armature Works one day, my mom and I decided to get some tacos. We both ordered chicken tacos and thought it was decent overall. I felt that the chicken was on the dry side, but the sauce that came with it made it much better. read more
Love Armature Works and their concept of multiple restaurants in a single building. However so much of the food is way overpriced and lacks the quantity the hungry need to feel they got their due fill. When you spend $20 for a meal you don't want to feel it was just a snack. I love Mexican food so keep ending up at this place when visiting. The go to thus far is their burrito, which can be filled with various meats of your choice. The size is pretty good too. Where I struggle is that for around $16 for most meats you don't get any chips/salsa without adding $7 or $8 to your bill. And adding a spoonful of guacamole for $2.50 is ridiculous. I don't recommend the quesatacos. They are way too greasy and come with little more than beef inside the fried shell. The flavor just isn't there on this one. Drinks....I like that they have pineapple soda in a bottle. But what kind of logic is present when they want $3 for a bottled water but only $2 for a can of soda? Another "healthy" is more expensive than what is not. Best to bring your own since the Armature Works restaurants no longer offer complimentary water. And parking. They are now ticketing $30. I paid for two hours and came back 4 minutes after expiration to a team of several meter maids handing out tickets like candy on almost every car. They just started ticketing and the guy said once he pressed the button on his machine that he couldn't take it back even when I showed him it just expired two minutes before he left the ticket. Ridicculous. I'm done with Armature Works if this is how the city is going to handle people spending their hard earned money here. read more
It's been a while since I tried for Mexican in Florida. Going into Armature food hall in Tampa I was underwhelmed at the options till passing by Muchachas. Service was quick and efficient. Tacos were great seeing that I finished two before taking a picture. I will say I wanted more flavor in the consume but overall solid. Would go back again if craving tacos! read more

Deeelicious tacos! Stopped by here after dinner to try out the tacos. We got 2 steak tacos and the birria tacos. The steak was super good.. not dry at all and really flavorful! Loved the variety of toppings too. The corn, pepper and onion really made the flavor pop! The consume for the birria was really good too. Beef in here was super tender too! read more
When you look at their queso birria tacos, you think OMG I must have those. The flavor was good but they were an absolute mess to eat. You could barely pick them up without your fingers poking through the softened shell from the juice that was already soaking through. The "Juice" for dipping was useless as the tacos were already soggy AF. It also didn't add any flavor. I'm fairly new to this style of tacos and when done right (IMHO), the tacos still have integrity and crunch, the sauce is super flavorful and adds that extra richness to the beef and cheese inside. While these tacos are picture worthy, they are not worthy of more than 2 stars for this disaster of a dish. Tacos are my favorite food and I'm ashamed for the name Tacos due to these mushy piles of taco casserole. The staff was friendly and the food was delivered quickly, so that's a plus. Maybe some of their other dishes are good, but unless you want to look like you just ripped someone's heart out with red juice all over your hands, I'd skip this place. That's BEFORE you try and dip. So it's kind of funny how certain things are common place in other places and how they are a novelty here . Enter the queso birria taco it's a tortilla with a crispy cheese crust made by throwing cheese on the griddle , crisping it and encasing a tortilla with the cheese it's so simple and very delicious :) the birria was very tasty and the consommé not pictured is the dipping sauce . Consommé is a beef broth made from the seasonings of the beef inside the taco . They do it very well here 8.5/10 delicious The big ole burrito is given with 2 options closed or open face . Open face is a unwrapped burrito and suitable for those who don't want to use their hands . I've had the steak here and found it a little tough and too heavily seasoned. This time I opted for the chorizo which was an awesome choice, it's got the classic chorizo spices and to my surprise it was in bigger chunks than I'm used to which is fine ! The burrito assembly itself was similar to chipotle's pick your vegetables , beans , sauces etc do make sure to get the spicy crema sauce it's a perfect companion to the salsas and burrito as a whole. 8.5/10 again this place is excellent read more

The rice and beans are honestly one of the BEST I have ever had. So flavorful !!! The rice is well seasoned and is soft, unlike a lot of places where the rice becomes dry and hard. I usually don't order beans unless they are refried because most of the time they are under-seasoned. But not here my friends. These are flavor packed, well seasoned and were wonderfully warm when it was served. The Quesatacos (quesabirria) seemed to be really popular and they looked sooo good. Definitely trying them next time. The service was great, it felt like the people who work there really cares about serving you the food and they make sure you are well taken care of. read more

When I saw pictures of their Birria tacos, I knew I wanted to try them while we were at the food hall. They call them Quesatacos, but it's the same thing I've had at other places that call it Birria. I enjoyed them, but I can't say they're the best I've had. It's worth a stop to try though if you're at the food hall. read more
