We ordered two entrees: I had the Urban Carnitas, and my friend ordered the Cantina Fajitas with shrimp. Overall, the meals were fine but nothing memorable. My main concern was how quickly the food came out after we ordered, which made me wonder if some of it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The pork in the Urban Carnitas was also a bit on the dry side. Overall, I'd go back for drinks, but I'd probably skip the food. Two things to note: You can access menus through the QR codes and Urban Cantina doesn't have AC in the bar area because there's a garage-style roll-up window that can be opened or closed.

Arriving hungry, we stopped in here. The decor was well out together with a various arrangement of seating options. They were out of topo chico so opted for a seltzer water. I ordered tacos and elotes both of which came out fast and or so good! My dining companion ordered the Tijuana salad with steak which was massive and came out with a perfectly cooked medium rare flank steak on too. The salad was exactly the Caesar salad twist I expected with the hand prepped original dressing and addition of the elotes on top. Definitely worth a try if you're craving mexican in the area.

Luckily, there are quite a few solid dining options at this property including Lona. When I saw that they had a modern Mexican menu and delicious sounding cocktails, I decided to grab a seat at the bar. The service was quick and the bartender was very friendly, offering suggestions on the menu when I asked. I started with the passion picante cocktail which was like a spicy passionfruit margarita made with Teremana tequila. For my entree, I got the quesabirria with the consommé dipping sauce and it was spectacular. It's only of the most popular dishes on their menu and I can see why. I also tried the cucumber mezcalita which was a great nightcap if you enjoy Mezcal. I was so stuffed after that, but I got a slice of the tres leches cake to-go. It's a gorgeous dessert and I ate it for breakfast the next morning. It was amazing!

There's something special about having a place where you can sit down, order your favorites, have a margarita (obviamente), and immediately feel at home. Great food, great vibes, even better people. They kept a cake that we brought in their fridge and gave us plates and utensils to use for dessert. I am between three stars because I just don't see the value here. The food/cost proposition not does not sense to me. The food is decent but I am just not a mall Mexican food person. You pay for the mall rent and there are so many other places to choose. I ended up with a beautiful and delicious nachos and my boyfriend got a chicken bowl which he said he found satisfying and better than chipotle. I think if they had better happy hour deals or specials that you might get more of a crowd. Could use some more TVs and maybe some trivia nights or bingo.
