We're out in Ybor and decided to stop at Barrio. The ambience of the location is really dark. Not much changed from it being the previous locations of other restaurants, but it definitely needs more natural light. It's like eating in a dungeon. The tacos there was a lot going on on the menu and I'm sure this is a niche, but it is not a niche. I am on board with any taco that had ground beef was kind of disgusting the other tacos. You could've made them at home and probably made them better if you're looking for authenticity this is not the place. Service the service was not much to write home about nothing was stellar, but nothing was bad. With all things being equal, this is not a place that I would naturally recommend somebody likes it but it's probably the same people that eat Tijuana flat.

    Margarita flight: meh

I visited here yesterday with friends for brunch. The place looked very cool, i loved the wall art. Servers were awesome too. The food was subpar. Margarita flight was ok. First of all, it was room temperature when served and I couldn't taste any alcohol. For food, i had the made to order taco. I picked the ingredients that packed a punch but sadly the taco lacked spice. I've had better tacos at bodegas. Overall, i expected more.

What a unique taco menu! I'm so glad we stopped in here to check it out! Nick was our bartender and explained how it all works! We had the basic queso with our chips & salsa, it was all delicious! I tried the chicken caesar taco special, fantastic! My boyfriend had a taco that was like a big mac (I can't remember the name) and loved it! It's very pretty inside and the walls are painted beautifully! Highly recommend!

I think this place is garbage, literally you can get better food at chipotle. The inside and outside areas are cute, but the food and drinks are terrible. Skinny margaritas is watered down with no taste. The steak tastes like teriyaki chicken, it was almost inedible. Service was slow, I had to go inside to get the check from server after 20 minutes with no service. Don't come here and go to a different restaurant is YBOR.

Tacos one shrimp and one imitation steak

Came here for lunch with 6 people. The menu is super confusing. It would take less time to just make regular ordering vs asking waitress to explain many times how to put an order on a paper. Instead of talking to friends, we had to try to fill out some papers. Ridiculous system. Very inefficient. Drinks were absolutely terrible! Couple of us had to send them back. Ambience is pretty chill, nothing special. But relatively clean and organized. Waitress was friendly and attentive. She still has to take orders for drinks, so not sure why can't she just take the whole order. Salsa was terrible, guacamole was old, brown and tasteless. Tacos that I ordered: one shrimp, one fish and one imitation steak were pretty terrible. Fish was super mushy and had no flavor, shrimp was ok, imitation meat was not edible. Really bad place, I never want to come back. Low quality, expensive, and confusing menu.

The young lady at the front desk of our hotel recommended Barrio if we wanted great tacos. It was walking distance from where we were staying so we took her advice and gave it a try. Well, she was right! Service was great; friendly, attentive, and quick with water refills. They have some pretty unique tacos on the menu and you can build your own with basically all sorts of toppings and combinations. I got the codfather and I made my own taco with jalapeno lime shrimp. Both were fantastic and huge (see photos for reference). I was worried 2 tacos wouldn't be fulfilling for me but I was wrong. Both were flavorful and packed. Overall, a great spot for tacos if you're in the area!

It is a great place for the day of the dead. This is because the wall paintings has all of that story. The bar is popular during late evening. They do have sport bar with big tv setup. We got three tacos and sharwarma pita. The three tacos we have are the codgather, La Tierra, and French dip. The French dip is interesting taco with ribeye steak dip in the meaty sauce. The pita we got is the chicken bacon ranch. I think this is ok. Overall I think they are a bit oily but the size and quantity is good. Service is good.

I was a huge fan of the Barrio in Orlando, and I was so sad when it closed. When looking at restaurants close to Raymond James Stadium, I saw Barrio and got so excited! We parked in the lot behind the restaurant and were able to get one hour of parking for free. Our server warned us that the kitchen was a little backed up, so there would be a longer wait than normal, but our food still came out pretty quickly. We started our meal with the Spicy Garlic Queso, which was really garlicky but not spicy at all. I really like their chips. For my main, I got a rice bowl with black beans, queso fresco, caramelized onions and poblanos, lettuce, pico de gallo, pineapple salsa, corn salsa, and avocado ranch. I also got a side of the mango habanero sauce. The rice in my bowl was all clumped together and a little overcooked, so I ended up not eating most of it. The rest of the bowl toppings were pretty good, and the bowl was a great portion. The prices are very fair, and I like that they are open late. The tacos here are really good, so I would probably order those instead of a bowl next time.

Strong drinks, delicious tacos & guac with excellent service! Loved the Sassy Pineapple with Tajin rim! Added bonus that we could ride the free trolley from our hotel!

I think this was the best bowl I've ever had tbh. I added the shrimp, queso fresco, pico, cilantro/onions, lettuce, black beans, cilantro lime aioli and chipotle crema Trying to save it so I can eat it tomorrow lol

Barrio is quite the gem in Ybor. This unique dine-in taco restaurant and full bar offers thicc tacos and delish cocktails for brunch, lunch, dinner and late night cravings. Great service and chill vibes. Corn tortillas for the gluten-free ones. No need to settle for mid tacos downtown, Barrio is a short walk from trolley stops and a parking lot.

Great seating outside and people watching while enjoying great Mexican food with a flight of strong margaritas. Pet friendly, we will be back

We enjoyed great cocktails and queso with chorizo at the outdoor seating. It was a beautiful evening and the roosters stopped by to check in. The drinks were wonderful and the service was awesome! Taylor took amazing care of us and wr will be back.

I was in Tampa for work and stumbled upon this spot, and from the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed by the staff. The energy was warm and relaxed, the kind of place where you instantly feel at ease. I enjoyed it so much that I came back twice in one day. For food, I ordered the Steak and Holly, which was packed with flavor. After I had finished the steak, I mentioned to my colleague how much juice and seasoning was still left at the bottom of the bowl. Unbeknownst to me, the bartender overheard and came out with a bowl of rice so I could finish it all. That small, thoughtful gesture really stood out. Special shout-out to the bartender, Jesus--he really made the experience. I also tried several specialty cocktails--many made on the spot based on the flavors and alcohol I requested. The bartenders were attentive, creative, and clearly passionate about what they do. Later that evening, I came back for the "Sunday School" experience, and the vibe completely delivered. The ambiance screamed lounge-meets-speakeasy, and the space felt welcoming and inclusive. Have you ever been blessed by stumbling upon a gem while traveling? Because that's exactly what this was. A true Ybor find, and a place I'll absolutely return to next time I'm in Tampa.

But other than being one scary venue, Spookeasy has food and drinks that are worth hanging around for while you take in the spookiness of the place. A full coffee bar, they already have my name on it, but they also feature sandwiches, snacks, salads, and other bar food. While I came here for a Death Cafe event, I decided to make myself comfortable by getting myself some food and lattes. Thankfully, the place serves up food that makes a visit here worth more than just a quick look around. I got myself a hot marshmallow flavored latte, and a breakfast sandwich. The latte was delicious, and I loved the marshmallow flavor I got with it to give it a more unique taste perfect for winter. It gave me just the right kick while I waited for my event to start. The breakfast sandwich seems simple enough, bacon, eggs, cheese on toast, but each ingredient was thoughtfully prepared to make one filling meal. I can tell the egg is fresh cracked and the bacon was perfectly crispy, all held together by two slices of thick toast. I also loved the fries that came with it, well seasoned with cheese sauce AND melted cheese, so I was pretty occupied and well fed during my meeting. The staff here is great, laid back, and super-friendly to talk to. They have a good vibe about them that makes me want to come back to haunt--er visit them, haha, Death Cafe meeting or not.

My girlfriend and I were in town for a show and I was looking forwarding to continuing to have a good time, but when we made it downstairs, unbeknownst to us, it is EXTREMELY frowned upon to have your own water bottle. Literally laughing out loud as I write this review. So myself and my friend, both (almost) 40 year old women, walk up to the bar to check out the menu. The bartender walks up to us and gets instantly pissed that my friend was holding a water bottle from our hotel room. He proceeds to put a can of Liquid Death on the bar and open it. In my mind, I'm like, ohh, how sweet! Well he must have said something as he did that about how you can't have outside 'drinks'. My friend naively starts chugging the water to get rid of it. The bartender almost jumps from behind the bar to escort us out. Meanwhile, I'm just like wtf happened?! As we try to ask him, he was extremely rude and proceeded to treat us like criminals and kicked us out. Walking away, we were more confused than anything. It's so unfortunate because we were ready to buy drinks and have a good time. What a crappy ending to our night.

That kind of delay would be hard to overlook even during a rush -- let alone a slow morning. Several menu items were already "out" which was confusing and disappointing for a small menu. The venue seems to book a few acts a week. You can go online, purchase tickets, and pick your actual seat - they sell seats by the table. We were at Table 20 for The Verve Pipe, and it was a four-top, in the 3rd row of tables, on the side, with an excellent view of the stage. Sadly, they do NOT offer their fabulous cocktails upstairs here, even though there is a bar. If you want to drink something stellar, you will need to walk yourself back down the two flights of stairs, and get it yourself. Instead, they have instructions on each table of how to order a standard cocktail on-line; you choose your basic booze, then your basic mixer, and a cocktail server will bring it out to you and take your credit card. Efficient, but very boring. The venue is small, but the sound was good, with the exception of the two magpies behind me screaming and nattering the whole time. Why go to a concert if you're just going to talk through the entire thing? But I digress.... This is a wonderful venue to go see some surprisingly good artists, and I highly recommend a visit.

While she was pleasant, the service felt a bit disorganized and it took quite a while to receive our drinks, which was surprising given how few people were there at the time. The Food: The flavors are definitely there--tasty and with a nice Caribbean kick--but the composition of the dishes left me disappointed. I ordered the Oxtail Shepherd's Pie ($35), and while the flavor was good, it was overwhelmingly mashed potatoes and corn bread. For that price, I expected more than just a few small pieces of oxtail and a tiny portion of cooked greens and onions. The Verdict: If you love carbs and cornbread, you'll be in heaven. However, the menu feels like it needs a modern touch. There is only one salad option, and the meat-to-starch ratio is way off. I'd love to see more protein-focused options and fresh greens added to the menu to balance out the heavy sides. Great for a drink and the "wow" factor of the hidden door, but the value for the food isn't quite there yet. Also a lot of fried food, which I rarely eat.
