It's been a good while since we ate amazing authentic Mexican food. The food was freshly made and the menu has something for everyone's taste. They have entrees and also Mexican craving treats (i got the tostielote). The gentleman working here was very sweet and professional. He explained what was on his menu clearly. Food came out quickly and was soooooo delicious. The place played beautiful Mexican music. The vibe was vibrant with colors, and very clean. I can't wait to come back to Tampa and eat here again. I Highly recommend! read more

Hole in the wall inside of a gas station! Must try the Tostilocos. They open a bag of chips and fill it with the delicious fillings of elote cheese and sauce! Try it with some ground beef. Quick efficient service but weary, sometimes this place can get packed with locals. You know that means it good! read more

Food was delicious! Very authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere was great, small little gem next to a gas station. Family owned. Lots of food in each plate for what it's worth as well. The Esquite was the best I've had in Tampa so far. We ordered chips & salsa, esquite, fajitas entree and enchiladas entree. We took back a ton of leftovers for the next day. My fiance and I are always searching for good Mexican food and this was definitely added to our new go-to spot. Highly recommend and we will be back to try more options. read more

I came here the first time to get mango preparado. Found out they had pineapple and strawberry as well so I added pineapple. It was so delicious! Very refreshing and the fruit was very fresh. The pineapple was super sweet but the mango was still very green. The second time I came back to get all pineapple preparado with extra chamoy. I decided I should probably try their food as well, so I got two al pastor tacos without cilantro to go. The tacos had a ton of meat and onions, very filling. I was only able to eat one, but I have a pretty small appetite. I wasn't super impressed with the al pastor. I added the green hot sauce and some lime and it made it better, but I will probably try the carnitas next time. The service is always nice. They are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is located right next to a gas station, kind of tucked away. It has about 10 tables inside and I definitely smelled like food when I left. Overall, the ambiance is what you would expect from a small Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy. Overall, I will definitely be coming back to get my fruit with extra chamoy and I plan on trying some other things on the menu as well. read more

We waited such a long. Time for tacos where the meat was overcooked and dry. I never get acid reflux and the food disnt settle for me and gave me such bad acid reflux the whole day other people seemed to enjoy their food so maybe it was just me. Excellent and authentic Mexican food. I found this place online because of their high ratings, and it did not disappoint. Ordered the red enchiladas with steak and got them "hot"/spicy, and they were delicious! read more

Found Mangonadas Mexican Kitchen because we were thirsty for agua frescas. They had horchata and Agua de jamaica(hibiscus). We ended up with much more. We ordered a horchata and Mangonada. Since they are called Mangonada, I must order it. My hubby lately wants churros like crazy so churros with ice cream was also ordered and I took birria tacos to go. The girl working was sooo friendly and helpful. She offered us a good size sample of the Agua de Jamaica. She also let me know how the Mangonada was. We agreed on the tajin seasoning on the side just in case it was spicy for me. Which it is as not and was so good. I never had one before. She always had a smile on her face & made sure we didn't need anything. At the end, we both enjoyed our drinks and churros so much, I had to order birria tacos to go. I had the birria tacos the next day since I warmed them up in the air fryer and they were so good, crunchy, & flavorful. Everything was awesome from start to finish This location is in back of a gas station so it's a bit of a different find, but surely this place belongs on Diners, Drive In's, & Dives. Talk about cheaper great eats, & good drinks, & snacks with a smile. read more

Boom! Real Mexican made fresh by people who can cook! Wow was it good. Had three items and they were so damn good. Enchiladas, tacos supremo, and flautas are all good. It was definitely real Mexican that satisfied a craving. read more

The food was rather tasteless and bland. We had tacos and a chicken bowl, left most of it on the plate. The salsa had a very strange consistency to it and like the meal, very little flavor. read more

I've been hell-bent on getting fresas con crema (strawberries with cream) ever since I tried it randomly at the Houston Rodeo, and I'm glad I was able to find it just 5 minutes from where I live! Obviously, I got the fresas con crema as depicted in my skillfully taken photo. The strawberries were perfectly ripe, and I loved how light and refreshing the cream was! The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was I saw pictures of this both on the menu and google reviews beforehand, hoping to see all the fun wafers and candies on top. Maybe it was because I got it to go, though I also wish they at least included a lid for the cup because fumbling with this thing to the car was a little too exciting for me. I definitely would like to try an actual meal here next time, as though this did finally put my cravings to an end I can only imagine their other foods must be amazing. read more

We came here after visiting Lowry Park Zoo, seeing high ratings online. We were not disappointed. They have a full menu, daily specials which are very reasonable, as well as aquas frescas, and delicious home-made tortilla chips served with salsa. The owner is very friendly, and our 3-taco specials--pastor, steak & chicken-- were fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full to try the many varieties of ice-cream desserts offered, they looked delicious too... read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Mangonadas Mexican Kitchen was hands-down the worst I've ever had at any restaurant -- and that's saying something. From the moment I walked in, it was a disaster. I was told my food would be ready in 20 minutes. That turned into 40. Then an hour. Then more vague promises of "just a few more minutes." Spoiler alert: My food never came. I waited patiently, gave them the benefit of the doubt multiple times, and was met with nothing but indifference and excuses. No apology. No explanation. Just delay after delay, as if my time didn't matter. Watching other people get served while I sat there empty-handed only made it worse. This wasn't just bad service -- it was complete incompetence. If you value your time, your money, or just basic human decency, avoid this place like the plague. There are a dozen other places that serve Mexican food and actually know how to run a kitchen. I went here on a Sunday afternoon with my sister. The service was excellent (in spite of them not knowing English very well) and the food was flavourful! Chips & Salsa- the chips were freshly fried and came complimentary with dining inside! They were not as dense as they looked! It was light and tasty! The salsa tasted very fresh. My sister felt some heat from it but I couldn't say the same! 4.5/5 Esquite- absolutely delicious! It was sliced corn from the cob topped with mayo, lime juice, tajin and chili powder. I could eat multiple bowls of this. The tang from the lime juice and tajin mixed with the creaminess of the mayo is a nice balance on your palate. Not spicy! 5/5 Quesabirria and Consommé- these were nicely crisp and the cheese melty! My sister thought the beef was too chewy so this did not resonate with her well. I thought it was chewy, but not so chewy. Maybe it was the choice in meat cut. The consommé was delicious and not overly salty! They just have to get the beef texture more soft. 4/5 Chorizo California Burrito- the chorizo was delicious, a bit over cooked but still delicious! The burrito also could have been more crispy! They green chili sauce paired amazingly with this burrito because it added an acidity that was needed to cut the heaviness of the burrito. 4/5 Horchata- it was very refreshing, it could be just a little less sweet but I've had extremely sweet horchatas before so this one was a welcomed change! 4/5 read more

Authentic Cuisine No 66. Mexican cuisine. It you don't mind hole in the wall setting, this can be your place. This restaurant is driven by good pricing and authentic Mexican food. If you want Street food, this may be your place. The restaurant is located at gas station plaza. It has limited seating. The food is delicious. We have the Birria Taco. It is overnight taco meat. Sound not attractive. But after the meat cook overnight, the marinated spice in it. Add the cheese, it is good to have. Very fulfilling. It come with a soup that I have never have before. I wonder what is that. Before the meal, they have the flautas chip with salsa. It is delicious. We also got the ceviche taco, buche and campacheno taco. The buche is pig stomach and the campacheno is the mixed of steak, chicken and pork taco. Very interesting. Service is ok. The Mangonadas is great. It is a interesting street food. read more

Yummy Mexican food served from a gas station restaurant. This review is for take out. I called and ordered 3 quesobirria tacos and a mangonada. I was told they would be ready in 20 minutes, and they were. The tacos were good. I liked that they were not soggy and held up despite a 25 minute drive home. They were a little bland on their own (lime, cilantro and onion are all on the side), but doctored up with the veggies and lime juice and dunked into the hot sauce and consomme, they were delicious. I'll bet they'd be even better hot and freshly served, but I'm not eating in restaurants yet. The mangonada was also excellent and absolutely worth the drive. It was only about half blended mango, the other half was mango chunks and a large tamarind lollypop. I liked their particular combination/ratio of sweet/salty/sour/spicy. There's limited seating in the restaurant (also limited parking outside). The place felt reasonably clean, and there was hand sanitizer readily available. read more

My first time trying birria tacos so I cannot compare to others, however these were pretty good. I called over the phone to place my order and said that I'd be there in 20 minutes and it was ready and packaged when I arrived. I ordered esquite ($3 corn in a cup) and 3 Birria tacos. The esquite is okay, I'm sure the elote on a stick is much better but I didn't want to get messy. The sauce to dip the birria was flavorful, however the tacos were a bit chewy, at least for the thicker pieces of meat. As far as pricing, I did not see the cost for the tacos anywhere on Yelp and the total for 3 birria tacos and esquite came up to $17... not sure if that is accurate but still satisfied. read more

Mangonadas Mexican Kitchen - I just got this and within 5 minutes I almost didn't get this shot. Sooooo good. - Mexican Near Me - Tampa, Florida

Why 4 stars? Because I enjoyed my birria tacos but they were a bit bland. --- --- --- Because I'm such a trendy fella, I have been trying lots of birria tacos lately and I have to say that I find the range to be quite vast. The first time I tried them, I didn't like them at all. The second time, they were amazing. The third time, they were just okay. Time #4 came from Mangonadas. I found them to be enjoyable overall, but also lacking a ton of flavor. I added in the veggies and sauce, which helped, but was still left feeling a void of much zest. My wife ordered a quesadilla, however, and I thought that was great. I didn't pay very close attention to the reviews before I visited, so I was surprised to see this in a gas station parking lot. When I say surprised, I mean that in a good way. Everyone knows some of the best food comes from places like this. I'd happily return to check out the rest of their menu. There were some regulars dining in while I waited for my food and they were raving about how great it is every time that they visit. I aspire to be those people. read more

This was our 3rd stop on our Tampa taco day last weekend, Mangonadas mexican kitchen. It was in a small plaze with a gas station that was very busy. The had a few seats and a bar to order from. We enjoyed the mangonadas so much that we both ordered them. I also grabbed a couple tacos. I went with chorizo & potatoes and a steak taco. Everything came out fairly quickly and looked great. These mangonadas were a bit different in that they had chunks and also had a scoop of sherbet in them. They were very enjoyable. The tacos hit the spot and their sauces were outstanding. Highly recommended. read more

Had the California Burrito, Tostielote, chips/salsa and a mangonada. Over all not a bad place only thing I can really complain about is the lack of flavor on both the cali burrito and the chips/salsa, as for the tostielote it had a little too much cheese which over powered the tostielote and for the mangonada it was more icy mango juice than blended mango chunks with some ice. This place isn't bad this review is only posted in hope they'll maybe implement a few changes but until then I would recommend just wouldn't come back for some time. read more
