    Chicken Sandwich with Fries
    Nishant N.

My colleague told me about The Red Bird, so we went there for Friday night dinner. We ordered two hot chicken sandwiches, served on buns with fresh broccoli, crunchy pickles, and fries with the signature big bird sauce. We got our to-go food in just 10 minutes! We enjoyed the chicken sandwich. We got it with spicy sauce and the spice level was perfect. Someone who's a big fan of coleslaw in their chicken sandwiches will probably love this place. The chicken burgers were also good, but not anything out of the ordinary.

The Red Bird is a convenient 5-10 min from USF and wow I will be back! I ordered the chicken tender meal, medium, the tenders were moist and the seasoning was excellent. The perfect amount of spice. What really sold me is that when you dine in, you get unlimited sauce, which I loooove my sauce. Other chicken spots could never. The coleslaw salad was also a surprise. I've never had one quite like this one but I wouldn't have it any other way. It was fresh and a bit spicy. I will 10000 percent be back. Great prices, great flavor, great service. The only thing I would change is the interior seating to spice it up to match their amazing food.

Delicious fried chicken in temple terrace area. Halal and fresh never frozen. Prepare for some hot flavors if you're into that! I've been there twice in the past week! Good service and nice interior!

FCK hot. Very spicy. Beware. This halal spicy chicken place located in temple terrace. This newly open fast food restaurant has it vibe for the food. The spicy level has six selection. The most spicy is the FCK. Be prepared for the heat that will bring. I got the number one combo with two piece tender, fries, veggies and two different sauces. My wife have chicken rice bowl. The rice is normal. Can be better. Overalls is 3.5 stars. Coating can be better. One good thing is the chicken is tender. Very tasty.

This spicy chicken tenders restaurant model seems to be getting very popular. I have only tried Dave Hot Chicken and Red Bird. Pros: Larger seating interior that is clean and has decent A/C. Fair prices and even though the menu is somewhat limited is adequate. The tenders are juicy and tender with a crispy exterior and a decent amount of spice/heat for a mainstream American fast food place. I got "Hot" level and was satisfied. If I had a toilet in my car, maybe I would get the "F-- you crazy" level lol. 8/10 The fries are crinkle cut and while I usually loathe them, these were crispy and thin/long and not short/stubby. 7/10 There are two sauces. A honey mustard one and a spicy/sweet one. Both are solid. I used them more for the fries. The chicken is Halal which is nice for Muslim folks. Cons They close at 7 pm which seems a bit early at least according to Google Maps. Overall: While I prefer bone in chicken in general, this is a pretty decent place. I think it is better than Dave's Hot Chicken. Asian people and spice lovers, be warned and don't underestimate this place lol.

Best fried chicken I've ever had. Prices are incredible and you can taste how it's freshly made. Plenty of seating inside and friendly staff. Best part is how you can choose the spice level. Definitely returning

Wow soft opening prices ! Extremely affordable, come check it out! I got mild my husband got hot I would say they labeled correctly for levels of heat. Friendly staff recognized it was our first time and helped us with the menu.

2 chicken sandwiches and fries deal is definitely a bang for your buck. The food was ready quickly and still hot and crispy by the time I got home. I ordered the spiciest level on the menu (an expletive) and hot. The hottest one was definitely spicier than the hot but nothing unbearable. The bun was soft and the slaw was crisp and a perfect contrast to the chicken. The sauce was really good too overall it was fantastic and lasted for multiple meals.

Tried The Red Bird and was pleasantly surprised. Got two hot chicken sandwiches and fries--great flavor, crispy texture, and solid portion sizes. Their sauces really elevated everything, especially since the chicken was a bit on the drier side. Spice level wasn't too intense (their "Hot" felt more like a medium), but overall still better than most places around. Worth a visit if you're craving Nashville-style heat. Service was decent.

I also like the thoughtful touch of them giving you disposable gloves so your hands don't get messy while eating -- small thing, but much appreciated. The food here is consistently good, which is why we keep coming back. The only thing I've found a little inconsistent is the mint lemonade. Sometimes it's great, other times I wish I'd skipped it. That said, the food itself is always on point. Service is really good too, so I'm only taking one star off for the lemonade.

The restaurant was clean, bright, and had ample seating and parking. I loved everything that I tried. All the food is prepared fresh, so everything came out piping hot. The firecracker chicken bowl was my favorite. I got it medium spice. It was absolutely delicious. It was hot, crispy, spicy, and a touch of sweet. The fried rice was super flavorful, and this is something I typically miss at typical Chinese food restaurants as I cannot eat pork. Of course, no pork in this fried rice. My partner got the sesame chicken, and I presume it was amazing because he wolfed it down so fast, I didn't have to even sneak a bite. The Japanese fried chicken was a 10 out of 10! It was lightly breaded, flavorful, and crispy. This place is a gem. I seriously recommend it and may even go back today. When we were eating, someone came in and ordered a mango matcha. It looked so good that I have to go back to try it.

Cons: Prices are a bit expensive for what you get. Most dishes are in the $17-19 range. I was expecting either a lot more food quantity or a knockout taste. I know this is an independent restaurant, but it seems excessive. The meal I had is almost equivalent to a meal from the rank and file Chinese restaurants all around Tampa or Panda Express. The Orange Chicken had minimal spice. It's supposed to be sweet AND spicy. Pandas is just sweet and I'm afraid Fry and Wok follows the same beats. Liangs Asian bistro in New Tampa has OC that is sweet and spicy. It seems odd to me to do your own take on Americanized Chinese and not improve on it. No one asked me about spice level when I ordered FYI. I asked for tap water and I got hot tap water with no ice. I looked at the menu and all their drinks are $6-7 boba drinks but no canned or bottled soda . In this economy, they should serve some thing cheap as you're getting into $23/24 for one meal. Overall: It's a serviceable place to get Americanized Chinese but the prices and lack of spice make it redundant when there are so many similar and cheaper places.

We tried this place about a year ago, and we had a completely different experience than before. I can honestly say, I won't be back. Not ever. Not even a chance. This place is filthy. The floors, the tables, the bathrooms (the worst I have ever seen), and even the napkin holders. I had immediate regrets upon stepping in based on the lack of cleanliness. The amount of flies swarming was alarming. The service was a zero. The girl working watched us order at the kiosk, the kiosk wouldn't let us pay, we tell her, and she says "oh it doesn't work." So we ordered with her even though she sat around watching us waste our time. I ordered a wing meal, told her I wanted the wings injected, and she said "we don't inject them. I will give you sauce on the side." The menu clearly says they inject wings, social media videos always show it, and also, my last visit there was also injected wings but she would give me no explanation other than "I will give you the sauce on the side." It was bizarre and I couldn't even get a "we don't do that anymore" from her. We ordered a chicken sando. The quality was horrible. Chicken tasted overly processed with bad texture. We also ordered a wing combo. The wings were flavorless. Absolutely flavorless. I ordered medium and there was zero spice. Not even a tad. Apparently they don't inject their wings anymore so there was no flavor in the wings. The quality was pretty bad. Also, the "sauce on the side" that the girl working promised me was not the sauce I ordered, it was the sauce she chose. The whole ordering experience was odd. Definitely seemed like someone who did not care about providing good service, good food, or a sanitary environment. We waited about 25 minutes for our food. About 3 people came in to get pickup orders while we waited and no one else. So we sat and waited while the flys swarmed our heads. The cashier never once tried to come out and clean the filthy tables. She even paused doing nothing for a restroom break, used the filthy restroom, came out with WET hands, and grabbed a napkin from the dusty napkin holder on the filthy table to dry her hands. Then still never wiped down the table caked with food debris. Absolute terrible level of cleanliness, care, and service. It ruined my appetite. After waiting that long, the Mac n cheese was ice cold. 25 minutes for Mac n cheese with a chill to it and no heat. I'm convinced they pulled it out of the refrigerator and forgot to heat it up. This place just had too many misses: a lack of quality, a lack of good service, and a lack of any sanitation standards. Never again. We didn't finish our food. We threw it away outside.
