I can eat Red Birds Chicken Rice Bowl everyday. The consistency in taste and freshness is a key factor in how many times I return to a restaurant my chicken strips were well seasoned and tender. The rice was cooked to perfection and the sauce brought everything together. I was greeted and serviced as soon as u walked in the door and my food didn't take much time before it came out. It's always pretty clean in there and spacious for large families to dine. I'd recommend The Red Bird over and over. They never disappoint! read more

Just a few photos from our time trying Red Bird in Temple Terrace Sometimes the pictures tell the story better than anything else--good food, good company, and another new spot added to the Just How Food Goes journey! That 8.5/10 was WELL deserved. The food was fresh, the price was right, Kay enjoyed it too, and those wings are STILL on my mind. Getting all of that food for less than $30 definitely made this one even better. We left full, happy, and already talking about what we want to try when we come back. And trust me... I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! There are way too many things I still need to try, especially some more of those wings! Another food adventure for the books. That's Just How Life Goes... and of course, Just How Food Goes! Service was okay. read more

I used to eat here often when The Red Bird was brand new. Back then, the portion sizes were actually fit for a human and left me feeling full, but now they are seriously lacking. I went there today to pick up an order I placed through Uber Eats. Usually, when you pick up an Uber Eats order yourself, they don't require a verification code. However, when I went to the front and gave my name to the cashier, she asked if I had proof of the order. I told her no, as I had ordered on my computer and didn't have a code. She insisted she needed verification. My phone wasn't working at the moment, which I don't blame her for, but the way she handled the situation was incredibly frustrating. I waited 20 minutes before I actually got my food. The cashier stood there talking on her phone, claiming she needed to ask her manager, but she never actually did. I didn't hear her explain the situation or ask anyone for help. Instead, she just stayed on her phone and eventually slid the food over to me. There was no apology for the wait, no "here you go," and no "have a nice day." She just slid it over with a smile while still chatting on her phone. It felt like she was purposely inconveniencing me. As soon as I mentioned that I had my ID to prove who I was, it was suddenly no issue, and she handed it over without ever checking with a manager. Very disappointing experience. While the food itself still tastes good, it is simply no longer worth the money or the poor treatment. I never expected over the top, bubbly customer service, the staff that used to work here would just get the job done without the fake enthusiasm, and that was perfectly fine. But there is a massive difference between a worker just trying to get through their shift and one who actively goes out of their way to keep you waiting while talking on the phone. Between the disrespectful service and the shrinking portions, this place just isn't what it used to be. read more

Haven't ate my food yet, but the service was all right. Ordered my food to go, but it came with no bag or no utensils. Thought that was kind of strange but it's clean on the inside and Q uiet too! Heard their food was good so I'm gonna try it. read more

My colleague told me about The Red Bird, so we went there for Friday night dinner. We ordered two hot chicken sandwiches, served on buns with fresh broccoli, crunchy pickles, and fries with the signature big bird sauce. We got our to-go food in just 10 minutes! We enjoyed the chicken sandwich. We got it with spicy sauce and the spice level was perfect. Someone who's a big fan of coleslaw in their chicken sandwiches will probably love this place. The chicken burgers were also good, but not anything out of the ordinary. read more

The Red Bird is a convenient 5-10 min from USF and wow I will be back! I ordered the chicken tender meal, medium, the tenders were moist and the seasoning was excellent. The perfect amount of spice. What really sold me is that when you dine in, you get unlimited sauce, which I loooove my sauce. Other chicken spots could never. The coleslaw salad was also a surprise. I've never had one quite like this one but I wouldn't have it any other way. It was fresh and a bit spicy. I will 10000 percent be back. Great prices, great flavor, great service. The only thing I would change is the interior seating to spice it up to match their amazing food. read more

FCK hot. Very spicy. Beware. This halal spicy chicken place located in temple terrace. This newly open fast food restaurant has it vibe for the food. The spicy level has six selection. The most spicy is the FCK. Be prepared for the heat that will bring. I got the number one combo with two piece tender, fries, veggies and two different sauces. My wife have chicken rice bowl. The rice is normal. Can be better. Overalls is 3.5 stars. Coating can be better. One good thing is the chicken is tender. Very tasty. read more

This spicy chicken tenders restaurant model seems to be getting very popular. I have only tried Dave Hot Chicken and Red Bird. Pros: Larger seating interior that is clean and has decent A/C. Fair prices and even though the menu is somewhat limited is adequate. The tenders are juicy and tender with a crispy exterior and a decent amount of spice/heat for a mainstream American fast food place. I got "Hot" level and was satisfied. If I had a toilet in my car, maybe I would get the "F-- you crazy" level lol. 8/10 The fries are crinkle cut and while I usually loathe them, these were crispy and thin/long and not short/stubby. 7/10 There are two sauces. A honey mustard one and a spicy/sweet one. Both are solid. I used them more for the fries. The chicken is Halal which is nice for Muslim folks. Cons They close at 7 pm which seems a bit early at least according to Google Maps. Overall: While I prefer bone in chicken in general, this is a pretty decent place. I think it is better than Dave's Hot Chicken. Asian people and spice lovers, be warned and don't underestimate this place lol. read more

I don't want to write out a whole story about our recent experience here but, it was an odd and uncomfortable one brought on by the GM. We likely won't be returning. The food was still good - that has remained consistent throughout all of my past visits here. read more

Best chicken sandwich in Tampa Bay! Been here several times and never been disappointed. Chicken is not over fried but perfectly cooked to be soft and moist. The slaw that goes in the sandwich is amazing. Tough parking since it is in a busy plaza, but for the value and taste, this is hands down the best chicken sandwich in Tampa Bay. read more

The servers friendly and they keep the restaurant clean. It's also very affordable and it's hard to find as affordable as this restaurants. Since their main meat is chick , you can choose the spicy level. If you aren't the person who can eat spicy food. Please just choose mild or original. I'd come back. read more

2 chicken sandwiches and fries deal is definitely a bang for your buck. The food was ready quickly and still hot and crispy by the time I got home. I ordered the spiciest level on the menu (an expletive) and hot. The hottest one was definitely spicier than the hot but nothing unbearable. The bun was soft and the slaw was crisp and a perfect contrast to the chicken. The sauce was really good too overall it was fantastic and lasted for multiple meals. read more

Tried The Red Bird and was pleasantly surprised. Got two hot chicken sandwiches and fries--great flavor, crispy texture, and solid portion sizes. Their sauces really elevated everything, especially since the chicken was a bit on the drier side. Spice level wasn't too intense (their "Hot" felt more like a medium), but overall still better than most places around. Worth a visit if you're craving Nashville-style heat. Service was decent. read more

Hot chicken connoisseur: I've tried Dave's Hot Chicken, Clutch City Cluckers, Hangry Joe's, The Fryer House, Main Chick, etc. One of the best hot chicken places in Tampa! Great ambience, clean and one of the fastest and most friendly service I've had at a fast food place. The wombo combo doesn't end there as the hot chicken is truly delicious and flavorful as it isn't one of those "die from a single bite" type heat it's well balanced and very tasty/flavorful. I eat and savor spicy food and their "Hot" level is better than anything at Dave's, etc. The prices are the cherry on top, I've gone back time and time again. Whether you're eating in, getting it delivered or picking it up - they're a wonderful choice as their packing is pretty secure and travels well. Writing this has made me crave them, Will be back soon! read more

The Red Bird - Chicken tenders and fries - Fast Food Near Me - Temple Terrace, Florida

I finally tried this place. Saw generally good reviews. I ordered chicken tenders for my young kids and specifically asked if the "original" was non-spicy. The lady at the counter said yes. But then said we can make it with no seasoning. I said, "Well, as long as it's non-spicy." No seasoning just sounded flavorless. So I opted for the original level (which is below mild). But I guess I should've taken her comment as a sign. Unfortunately, my kids couldn't eat their chicken tender dinners because it was too spicy. And they eat kimchi and Korean ramyun, so they can handle somewhat spicy. I ended up eating their chicken tender the next day and it was spicy. I thought no wonder they couldn't eat it. It was spicy even to me. The chicken itself is drier, harder, and tougher than I like. The breading was not good. I just can't believe reviewers stated that this was better than Dave's. By comparison, Dave's chicken is much more tender, juicy, and breading is more flavorful. If I had to pay a good amount for chicken tenders, there's no second thought that it would be Dave's. Feels like a costly experiment. But now that I've tried Red Bird, I guess my curiosity can be laid to rest. I'm sorry that I can't recommend this chicken establishment. I wish I could support it, but my business will have to go elsewhere. read more

Friendly, helpful staff. And the chicken- hoo boy! Each "tender" was about the size of a half breast; had to be 3/4 of a pound each. The hot had plenty of spice, but not so much that it covered up the flavor. And so tender and juicy! The Cole slaw was first rate, too- not drowning in mayo, big slices of jalapeño and lots of fresh Cilantro. This place is a keeper! read more

OK well you might think just another chicken joint adding to the pile of those that have opened in Tampa but you would definitely be off base. The flavor, freshness, seasoning, spices etc in these sandwiches is next level. One thing the others don't have....value. Put this all together and you have a can't miss dining destination. This place should be on your map for outstanding chicken sandwiches and tenders.....and fries and the slaw and the sauce. read more
