We have been wanting to try this place for awhile so glad we finally did. The restaurant is bright and spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. We ordered and immediately noticed that the place was full of people with numbers on their tables and no food, so we were prepared for a wait. We definitely did wait. It took about 20 minutes to get our food after we ordered. We were in no hurry, so it wasn't really a huge deal. We both ordered bowls. I got a chicken kofta bowl with rice, hummus, and cucumbers. My boyfriend got the lamb kofta bowl with rice, baba ganoush and salad. When our food arrived, the lamb came out with my sides and the chicken came out with my boyfriend's sides. It's an easy fix as we just swapped koftas, but this really should not have happened. Our first impression was slow service and orders not correct, so it was not the best start. The food was delicious, though. We both enjoyed our koftas. In fact, I would order the chicken again and again. The hummus had the best texture. The salad was exceptional. This was a fun unique dining experience! My mom and I came here prior to going to a Mosi laser light show and picked this restaurant due it's proximity and rating. The lady who took our order was very helpful in terms of making recommendations and explaining what certain dishes were and what was included. She also helped us get some items on the side and split our payment. My only criticism is the soda machine was out of order and could not provide 2-3 sodas. Also, we had the chicken shawarma feteer lacked flavor. They gave us a sauce but it was tiny little container. We called ahead and ordered the Chicken Shawarma Bowl and the Chicken Kofta Bowl. When we reached the restaurant, our to-go order was ready in about 5-10 minutes. I had tried this spot in their original location in Orlando and this one maintains the same great standards! I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is authentic fiteer (pies) straight from Egypt! I do like how this location is more spacious compared to the Orlando one, and has plenty of tables and space both indoors and outdoors. They also have a student discount of 10% off if you are a USF student. I had the cheese pie and it was delicious! Filled with cheese, green peppers, olives, and tomatoes. They have an outdoor seating area that is covered . The place had a nice scent inside of it that wasn't overbearing but didn't have you smelling like food either. We stopped into the Tampa Dough Show this week, and I'm glad we did. We got the Mixed Shawarma Feteer and the Dubai Feteer. First off, I think they're missing a trick not using the tagline, Feteer, Egyptian for Pizza," but at any rate, I preferred the beef to the chicken shawarma. The Dubai feteer was phenomenal and frankly even more delicious the next day. Inside is pistachio cream and Nutella. There's no chunks of pistachio or shredded phyllo. I was a little disappointed with that. Perhaps an idea for the future? We had a fun experience trying this unique shot. We went with a group and tried a bit of everything. The savory feteer was basically like a quesadilla. We tried the chicken and it was good. The mixed grill platter was very good, and we all agreed the ground lamb was the best meat. The falafel was good, but not something I'd order again. The hummus was very good and I really enjoyed their interesting version of baba ghanoush. It was nicely fire roasted with walnuts on top. It tasted almost like quesadilla, but it is better than quesadilla because the skin was multi-layer, thin and crispy. The filling was full of cheese, beef and chicken shawarma. What an absolute joke. You can't order the Feteer on the touchscreen menus by the front of the store. You have to wait in line. So I did. I waited behind a woman who decided to have a long chat with the cashier about his name, where he was from, and whatever else came to mind, while he just answered everything like they were hanging out and there wasn't a huge, growing line behind her. Then, once it was finally my turn and I ordered, I was told it would be a 40-50 minute wait for the food. Loved the item on the menu that the place shares the name of "the dough show" and the spices were excellent the first time, and now getting the same on my second visit, the spices aren't balances the same or are missing something. When they were making it, one of the bottles they were squeezing onto it went empty, so maybe it was missing a sauce. I wonder if they made it differently for a while person ? Has anyone else had this experience with major differences in the seasoning from visit to visit ? I will return again, but hope to repeat my first experience. Thanks read more
