I'll start by saying we ordered through uber eats, so we can't speak on service and atmosphere. Overall, everything needed more seasoning. What we ordered: chicken shawarma wrap, gyro and chicken combo wrap, baba ganoush, dolma, Dubai baklava, and a yogurt drink. The chicken shawarma wrap was better than the combo wrap and I would get it again but they both could have used more seasoning. The dolma is canned. I know a canned dolma when I see/taste one. lol. The baba ganoush needed more garlic and salt and less tahini. The Dubai chocolate baklava was NOTHING like the picture or their pictures/videos on Instagram. We tried the chicken shawarma wrap, a gyro and chicken combo wrap, baba ganoush, dolma, Dubai baklava, and a yogurt drink. The chicken shawarma wrap was better than the combo, and I'd get it again, but both needed more seasoning. I could not distinguish the taste difference of the gyro and chicken in the combo wrap. The dolma was clearly canned. The baba ganoush needed more garlic and salt, and less tahini. Also it almost had a fake smoke flavor like it had liquid smoke added. The Dubai chocolate baklava was a major letdown, nothing like the advertised pictures. It was a walnut baklava with just a drizzle of chocolate and a sprinkle of pistachio, not the chocolate and pistachio baklava that was presented. The good note, the wraps were massive and really fresh tasting with good veggies. This is a casual Middle Eastern restaurant in Cross Creek very close to the New Tampa Public Library (on the opposite side of the road in the plaza with the Shell gas station and 4 other restaurants) They have meat in kebabs form (boneless chunks) or shawarma (shredded flat meat) in which you put over rice or have as a wrap. You can get white sauce on the dish or on the side. There are fountain sodas and desserts like baklava. I ordered chicken kabob over rice and a soda. While I was the only person dining in, many people entered from delivery services and some ordered carryout. Pros: They cook it while you wait, so it is actually fresh. There is a decent amount of food in the rice meal which consists of meat, yellow rice, and salad. The spice mix is flavorful but not too spicy. The cafe is appealing and has a nice red/black color scheme. Roughly 30 people can fit inside. Cons It takes 15-20 minutes to get your food so call in first or prepare to wait. The meat was VERY dry and you need to have water with you to prevent choking. I hope this is not the case all the time. They were out of lamb when I went on Sunday evening. Also, the salad was just a standard house salad instead of "mint salad" usually seen in many Middle Eastern restaurants. It didnt fit that well. Misc: The A/C is VERY COLD. I am a big guy and I was almost uncomfortable. Overall: this was good.. Middle Eastern food is still a mixed bag in Tampa for me. read more

We order ahead and once we arrive, the food is already ready for us. We got the lamb kabab. This come with rice, veggies and two skew lamb kabab. It is about 7 cubes. Good size cube for a hungry people. They do have an option if you want to add additional cube. It is about 4 cubes more. The lamb is well grilled. Flavor of the marinate spice is in there. This is almost like a fast food. Order from counter and pick up. One thing for sure can be improved is to add the water fountain for the customers with free water. read more

Definitely one of my favorite places and my go to orders from Doordash. I decided to stop by just to say hi/salaam to the staff, and I believe the owner was there, who was very friendly. My wife and I like to order their chicken platter, which has a significant amount of vegetables compared to the competitors dishes, has quite a bit of flavor, and the chicken is very moist. The spicy sauce (red) is not that spicy, and the white sauce here is quite good. The only thing I would say (I mentioned it in person as well) they need to sell sauce on the side as well (a bottle) as I'm of the group that likes to add extra white sauce (and I mean a significant amount) which I recommend on all food like this (my wife may say otherwise). I believe some people aren't too happy with the music, as there is no music, instead there are prayers/surahs playing, but guys... it's called Halal Grill, respect the culture. read more

I came here last week with my son and we both wanted to try this place for a while. My son got the chicken platter and he loved it. I got the lamb platter and I found it to be decent and nothing more. We sat inside and ate, in the fridge where the drinks are, you will be able to find bottles of white sauce and hot sauce for your food in case you like more. After having places like Madinas cart in Queens and the Halal Guys cart in Manhattan, this place did not live up to the hype. Also on average, a platter is $15, which I find to be very steep considering they give you a lot of rice in comparison to the other items in the platter. Found this place on Instagram and decided to give them a try. We ordered the Chicken shawarma over rice, Mix combo over rice and the Lamb over rice. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. You have to get the white sauce on top it's so fresh and goes well with the meat. Portion sizes are good for the price and quality of the food. My husband and I wanted to try the food at this restaurant for a while now and finally we did last Sunday 06-11-2023. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. This review is solely based on my experience and the food I ordered. We ordered 2 beef kabob platters, each for $15.99. The platter is composed of a foil paper box filled with yellow rice, (pieces of shredded lettuce, chopped pieces of tomatoes, and pieces of cucumbers salad), and lastly, on top are the beef kabob pieces. The size of the platter is not that bad, the yellow rice was tasty. For $15.99 per platter, I was expecting a decent quality of beef, but this was not the case. At the time of ordering the platters at the counter, I requested the beef to be cooked just at a medium level. When I received my platter, it was covered with a plastic lid and it looked good, but when I tasted the beef, it was a disaster! The beef was old, way overcooked, and very tough. I immediately told my husband, that two of the reviews I read on Yelp before coming to this place mentioned something about the meat being tough and difficult to swallow; those reviews are accurate. I wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and even though I was warned about the tough beef, I still went ahead and gave it a try. The total of the bill for 2 beef kabob platters, 2 yogurt drinks, 1 baba ganoush, and tax was $46.17. Not cheap... Looking back, I wished I ordered a beef or chicken shawarma wrap. I wonder if their shawarma is good? I don't care about finding out, I already got a little taste of the food at Fire Up Halal Grill. P.s. The baba ganouch (eggplant dip) is $4.99. I finally hit this place up after reading about it on Yelp for several months. My family is Muslim and we always appreciate a good Halal place. However, you don't have to keep halal to enjoy this restaurant. I ordered a Gyro because for whatever reason it is impossible to find a good one in Tampa. I have no complaints at all and it hit the spot. It has everything a Gyro should have. The star, however, was the chicken kebab sandwich. The chicken was moist and well seasoned, and the bread itself was thin pita bread, which is closer, so what you'd find in Arab spots versus Greek Joints. The person who took my order was knowledgeable about the menu and very polite. This was clearly a family joint but it wasn't decorated in Disney style Arab kitsch.
