I have been going to the grocery store portion of Sara's for years & have always been very impressed by that store. So now Sara's has expanded with a restaurant. I sadly found the restaurant to be quite disappointing. I ordered Beef Doner, which is basically shaved gyro meat. I also ordered just a glass of water to drink. The shaved gyro meat was about $25. It tasted fine, & there was a good amount of it, but $25? And to fill my glass of water the waiter brought a plastic bottle of water to the table. And of course they charged for that. My wife got Chicken doner which is obviously the chicken version of beef doner. Our 2 plates of gyro meat, waters, taxes, & tip came to $65. There are so many other Middle East restaurants we frequent in our area, and the cost is 1/3 to 1/2 what Sara's is charging. We of course will keep shopping in the grocery section, but we are "one & done" with the restaurant.

The dining area is located inside the grocery store. We ordered the baked hummus, and two dishes. We are very familiar with middle eastern cooking as it's one of our favorites and decided to go with a dish that had meat that was a mix of lamb and beef. I was incredibly disappointed that the meat did not taste fresh nor did it have any flavoring. The meat was also very mushy and did not smell fresh. When I brought this up to our waitress, she smirked at us and said nothing as I let her know what was wrong with the meat. We then ordered the diced chicken ($12) to have with the rice and salad from the original dish. The diced chicken dish came with four small pieces of chicken. That's it. We were really disappointed with our entire experience here including the customer service. I tried to discretely take pictures of the inedible meat and that's when the waitress came over to let me know she took off that dish from our bill. Our bill was $84. For baked hummus, one dish, two sides of chicken cubes, and two water bottles. I would not return.

I've been wanting to stop in and try Sara's for awhile now to fulfill my itch for authentic Turkish cuisine. We ended up going later in the evening not realizing it was so close to closing but we were still greeted with friendly service. I would like to mention they also have a food market upon entering that you have to pass through to get to the restaurant side. There are a lot of great grocery selection from the Middle East. The entire establishment is very clean and well maintained. The service was quick and efficient! We ordered the Oven Baked Hummus as a starter that is topped with mozzarella cheese. I ordered the Lamb Shish Kebab and my friend ordered the Meat Cubed Cheese Pide (not realizing how big it was). Their portions were great for the price and all the food was very fresh, seasoned well and prepared perfectly. Only thing I wish I could've got was the tea. It was closing time otherwise they would have accompanied. Will be back soon!

Had a nice dinner at Sara's Kebab House in Clearwater. Starters were babaghanoush and dolmas. We put that babaghanoush on this lovely bread they served. Absolutely delicious. The stuffed grape leaves, dolmas, beautifully seasoned. The first entrée was the fish and chips. The fish was cod. It had a dark crust to it, and the fish underneath was perfectly cooked, moist and flaky. The fries that accompanied did were nicely seasoned and cooked well. The accompanying salad on the plate wasn't particularly great and mostly unnecessary. The other dish is a Turkish ravioli. The sauce had a bit of an unusual flavor, not bad, but not great. The ravioli themselves were a bit of a disappointment. I felt that they needed to be cooked longer because they were very gummy. Unfortunately, this was a bit of a disappointment. They have a very extensive menu and in spite of this little hiccup, I will certainly go back. This is not my first visit and I know the food overall can be very good. A pistachio baklava at the end of the meal was a nice ending. The servers were very attentive and it is a nice restaurant area that has a great Mediterranean market on the other side. This visit gets a 7/10.

Nice little Mediterranean restaurant. The setup is unique with a small market on one side and a cozy restaurant on the other. The staff was friendly and attentive from start to finish, and the whole place was very clean. The food came out quickly, and the portions were generous without sacrificing quality. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for delicious Mediterranean food in a welcoming atmosphere.

I come here often and thought I'd update my review due to the changes. They still start you off with complimentary bread and tea which is delicious. They bring this red vinegar/garlic sauce with the bread which I highly recommend trying with the bread when it's hot! I always get the mixed platter here due to the variation of starches and meat. I like their thinly cut lamb shish, it's bursting in flavor. Their beef and chicken kebob is also very good. Not a huge fan of the chicken Adana though because it's super salty. The flavor of the food and service is on point! They also have a decent ambiance. The only down side that I've noticed is that its portion sizes seem smaller than before. The beef and chicken kabobs are small cube sizes now. The lamb shish is also less than before and the chicken Adana is smaller in size. They also don't have crinkled French fries and use a generic version now but they do give more fries.

I was a little taken a back when I walked into a grocery store! Sara's Kebab House is 60% grocery store, 40% restaurant. I was quickly seated and was surprised to see just how many tables were full. The menu has plenty of options to choose from and the staff is friendly and willing to answer questions or provide recommendations. I order the Chicken Adana and it did not disappoint. Ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The price for entrees will run about $25 per plate. If you enjoy Mediterranean food, I would definitely recommend visiting Sara's Kebab House.

We finally stopped in and were not disappointed! They give you complimentary hot Turkinsh tea and bread with dipping sauce. All were fantastic! We ordered the cold 3 app sampler. We got hummus, their version of taziki, and Dolmades. The Dolmades are the best I've ever had! We got the Mixed Grill which serves 2-3 people. Needless to say we had plenty of leftovers. I recommend getting double rice for your 2 sides. The rice was moist and had a hint of cinnamon to it. We shopped the adjoining store when we were done and picked up a pack of their scented wet hand towels they give you with your bill. It's the little touches they do that made our experience special in addition to the amazing cuisine. We will be back!

We've been to the adjoining Mediterranean Market, and were intrigued by the restaurant inside as the smells coming from the area were fabulous. We came here with our daughter and her boyfriend who was familiar with their menu so we had a leg up on what to order. We got the Sara's Special Mixed Grill based on the boyfriends recommendation. That dish along with a starter salad and a plate of five of the Cold Mezes (babagahnoush, haydari, hummus, sauced eggplant, and spinach tarator) was PLENTY for four to eat and still have lots to bring home. The mixed grill dish was served in a large pan (almost like a deep dish pizza pan) with a flaky dough on top and bottom and filled with rice and scrumptious meats. The mezes were perfect for enjoying with the mixed grill dish. Our server was friendly and attentive. I don't believe they serve alcohol and if you ask for water it will be regular bottled water. We look forward to coming back and trying something different.

LOL. No. So I went hunting for another place, and I found East Bistro! I was driving over to Sprouts in Largo & saw it as I passed it! I made a quick U-turn & right into the parking lot I went... Right away I spot their tandoori clay oven right in the back & they have two shawarma spits right up front that smell so delicious OMG! :)... So I get some of the beef shawarma on top of the hummus... I have not had it like this before but WOZA! That is some good stuff baby! I ate almost all of it by myself. LOL I also got the Chicken kabobs. They were cooked perfectly. Nicely charred on the outside & tender & juicy on the inside, seasoned perfectly. Can not wait to order both of these dishes again OuiOui. The super surprising thing is that you get two sides with your 2 kabob platter plus rice & salad. I got the tabouli & hummus. It also comes with fresh made pita that they also make in house, which is fabulous OuiOui. But their tabouli. WOZA! Their tabouli is the best I have ever had. They make theirs with, I'm guessing, white vinegar? It's super tangy & very fresh tasting. Very pungent. Magnificent OuiOui. When I took some home for Sir Hubbers, I didn't say anything & all of a sudden he started raving about the Tabouli also. LOL Their dine in is super cute, but very small, it's mostly a take out place, everything on paper plates for dine in, which was fine. Everything is reasonably priced, entrees under $19! They bake all their own breads, make everything from scratch. And the tabouli, is a MUST ORDER OuiOui. Added to my lists of fave restaurants in the Tampa/St Pete area OuiOui. My first plate was filled with selections from the cold salad station (hummas, pita, Persan picket, baba ganosh, etc.). The entree station had four different rice (balas) preparations. There was Basmati rice, a savory rice and two of the balas were sweetened with fruit and spices. All were tasty. The proteins were primarily chicken selections, but there was a beef koobideh that was also delicious. There were a broad selection of lentil and vegetable stews, so I made multiple trips to the station eating them as a side dish to a protein, over basmati rice and savory rice preparations. It may have been a cultural fax paux, but I treated the falafel like a cornbread muffin as I enjoyed the stewed vegetables and lentils. It was a good meal polished off with a serving of baklava.

Let me start by saying that the food itself is actually good. The flavors are solid and you can tell the recipes are authentic Mediterranean dishes. If this review were based purely on the food, it would probably be decent. Unfortunately, a restaurant experience is not just about what ends up on the plate it's about service, value, and how customers are treated. That's where this place completely falls apart. First off, the service was extremely inattentive. From the moment we sat down, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. The waitresses seemed disinterested, barely checked on the table, and when we tried to ask questions about the menu or request anything simple, the attitude we got back was surprisingly rude and dismissive. It felt like they wanted us to order quickly, eat, and leave without asking for anything outside of the most basic transaction. One thing that really stood out was their refusal to substitute sides. At most restaurants, asking for a simple side swap is a completely normal request. Here, they flat-out refused with zero flexibility or willingness to accommodate. It came off as unnecessarily rigid and frankly pretty unfriendly. When customers are paying premium prices, a little accommodation should not be too much to ask. And speaking of mistakes they forgot my fries entirely. My meal arrived incomplete, and I had to point it out. Even then, it didn't feel like it was taken very seriously. No apology that felt genuine, no urgency to fix it, just a very casual reaction as if forgetting part of a meal was no big deal. When you're charging the prices they do, attention to detail should be the bare minimum. That brings me to the pricing, which honestly feels way too high for what you get. The food is good, but not nearly good enough to justify the price point when the service experience is this poor. There are plenty of Mediterranean restaurants where you can get equally good if not better food while actually being treated like a valued customer. Overall, the biggest takeaway from my visit is that good food alone doesn't make up for bad service. Restaurants succeed when they combine great meals with hospitality and basic respect for their customers. Unfortunately, that balance was completely missing here. Between the inattentive staff, the rude attitude toward simple requests, forgotten items like my fries, and the high prices, the experience left a pretty bad impression. I really wanted to like this place, but the service made it hard to justify coming back. There are too many good Mediterranean spots out there to spend money somewhere that treats customers like an afterthought.

We ordered the babaganouj appetizer, which was DELICIOUS!! It comes with pita, but for me, being gluten intolerant I asked for some vegetable. Waiter offered cucumber, but he only gave me 3 tiny pieces....so sad. Whatever, I wasnt going to let it go to waste so I just ate it with a fork. However I would suggest offering a proper portion of sliced cucumbers for your Gluten Free patrons, as a courtesy. I ordered the gluten free Falafel Salad and my son ordered the Yogurt Kebab. Both were very enjoyable! My falafels were moist on the inside with a crisp outer shell, my only suggestion would be to add a little Feta to the salad, wouldve been more interesting than pkind of plain and redundant--especially for just under $20. My son enjoyed his dish, even using the pita to scoop it up. We were so full and brought more than half home. The waiter was very kind and was generous to offer us a complimentary piece of Baklava (we had waited a bit for our food but it wasnt really a big deal--we were enjoying ourselves). Parking is a bit of a challenge because Columbia Rest and Backwaters has Valet that sort of capitalize the parking area-so plan ahead for that. We went at 2pm so it wasnt too difficult but I would guess dinner might be a challenge unless you use their Valet services--but Im only guessing. The restaurant is cute inside, and I saw they had a wine cooler. I think we'll go again and order a bunch of different appetizers and try some Turkish wine. I highly recommend trying Mio's!
