This is our favorite Mediterranean restaurant! It is casual and unassuming but the food is amazing! We come here after tennis tournaments but our son often requests it when we aren't in the area, but it's a bit far from our house in Tampa to come as often as we would like. Fresh, homemade, mom & pop place with friendly service. Be prepared to wait a bit as it's often just the owner taking orders, cooking, and serving food. Hummus - do not skip! So tasty and fresh, served with hot super thin pita bread Felafels - so light and crisp, and falls apart in your mouth We always get the beef shawarma platter - the flavors are divine, and we often crave it so we haven't ventured to other entrees. Comes with 2 sides and we often get rice and salad which are the perfect complement to the meal. Don't forget the baklava - several kinds available - walnut, pistachio, and maybe pecan --very delicious ending to our meal! read more

The Yelp check in offer of a 20% discount is what brought me in the door. When I showed it to the cashier I was told they NO LONGER HONOR that discount. This is a classic example of bait and switch and cost them a star. I went ahead and ordered a Gyro Platter ($14.97 with tax) choosing 2 orders of fries for my sides. I got my order to go because I was not too keen on the cheap tables. The floor and tables were also sticky, but since a lot of businesses in the area are recovering from hurricane damage I decided that I would not hold that against them, which I consider generous because this may be the norm here. UPDATE: after reading some of the other reviews I came to the conclusion that the lack of cleanliness I experienced IS the norm. If the dining area is so filthy I shudder to think how bad the food prep area is. So take away another star. The only nice things I can say are The fries were nice and crisp, and The meat was plentiful, thick, and flavorful, and providing warmed pita pockets on the side is a nice touch. BUT The onions were practically nonexistent and the tzatziki sauce was NOT tzatziki, it was plain yogurt. Looking over the menu it says tzatziki in one place and yogurt in another. This cost them two more stars. This was my first visit, and I was not impressed by the service, the bait and switch, the cleanliness, and the lack of traditional gyro ingredients. We came Thursday after spending the day at the beach. We weren't sure if we wanted to stay as we the place doesn't look as clean as we hope so. The floor was so sticky!!! But we were hungry and decided first to order the veggie plate and the Cedars Mix Grill Plate. The food was good so we decided to order more. We ordered the grapes leaves, hummus, babaganoush and fried kibbeh. The fried kibbeh and baba ganoush were a big letdown. The meat in the kibbeh was bland and poorly cooked and the baba ganoush lacked flavor. Overall, the place has potential but they really need to improve the cleanliness of the floors read more

The food was good. Ordered grilled chicken kebob platter. Not sure if related but as I was writing this review I had to make a dash to the restroom! Anyway, back to the review. As mentioned in another review the floor was SUPER STICKY. Especially the rug near the drink cooler. My flip flops literally stuck to the floor. The first table I almost sat at looked half wiped off with a clump of hair on the bench seat. Found a seat that was clean enough. There was no air circulation and I don't think the AC was even running. Very warm and uncomfortable for Florida. I won't be going back. read more

Food was tasty and the person who served us was friendly- we got a chicken shawarma, a gyro with feta and a gyro plate with basmati rice and baba ghanoush Last but not least a piece of pistachio baklava All the food was good and tasted very authentic "to my knowledge " I would recommend the gyro over the chicken shawarma unless you are well versed in the Mediterranean flavors, the gyro is amazing The baklava was good not the best I've ever had but definitely tasty. We were out running errands and we're starving. We opened yelp and Cedars was at the top of the list for nearby and I'm so glad we stopped. We ordered a gyro plate and the veggie plate and were absolutely thrilled with both. The hummus was smooth and so flavorful, I was eating it with a fork. The falafel I ordered with the veggie plate were super crispy, moist, and flavorful. Both meals portions were generous and we were very full but didn't leave a bite on the plate. Tip: ask for the garlic sauce. The service was great, we asked a few questions about recommendations and were helped with their insights. Friendly, quick, and comfortable. It was the best meal I've had in a very long time, and stood out so much I just HAD to come write a review. First of all, you can tell the grape leaves are not pulled from a can but are made with love. Soft, seasoned, really great quality. Gyro was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I was expecting something more chewy and was surprised with the quality. French fries it came with were excellent as well. Tabbouleh could have used a squeeze of lemon and falafel were a tiny bit greasy if I had to complain about anything. Would order both again in a heartbeat. Pistachio Baklava was lovely. Great food! My husband was super impressed with the gyro meat and we both loved the babaganous. I had the veggie platter with falafel, hummus, tabouli, dolmades and pita. I loved my meal and happy they could also provide me with a small side salad for a little extra greens! Atmosphere isn't great but fine for an easy meal out with my husband after a long day - we just wanted something quick and tasty. This was perfect for us and we'll visit again when in town. Ordered from this place through UberEats. Really good reviews on UberEats so decided to try it. I've never heard of this place so I'm always exited to try new restaurants. The prices was what drew me in. Super reasonable - in fact, it is the best priced Mediterranean food around! I was shocked! We ordered a lamb and a beef Shawarma dish. The food came pretty quickly. Both the beef and lamb were delicious!! If I had to pick, I would choose the beef. Both were tender, packed with flavor and well cooked. The hummus was my favorite omg! It must be homemade because it was so rich and creamy. I wish I could buy an extra tub to store in the fridge! The rice was amazing too. I was craving baba ganoush and stumbled upon Cedars which has excellent reviews across all platforms. We dined in-restaurant which maybe gave us a different experience from the take out folks. The restaurant is sparse and not very clean. The dining area has 3 drink fridges, 2 of which are empty. It seems like only 2 people were working, with the front of house helping in the kitchen between customers. Our food was served pretty quickly, on plastic reusable plates. Everything was delicious! Overall, Cedars gives the impression of a small immigrant owned and operated place, where the food is authentic and hand made, but there's no extra money for upgrading the restaurant. The tabouli is perfect, not too lemony and a ton of very fresh parsley. A lot of places demolish the parsley but not here, you can tell it is gently chopped. There's nothing fancy about Cedars but the food is fantastic. It's located in a small strip mall on 54th; they have dine-in but we typically get takeout or UberEats. They are friendly and I've never had a bad meal here. I'm partial to the veggie combo, partly because I happen to really like Mediterranean vegetarian things and partly because it's great if you're indecisive as it has a little bit of everything and all of it is good: hummus, falafel, grape leaves, tabbouleh and baba ganoush, all excellent. If you're not feeling the veggie plan, their gyros are excellent and so is the shish kebab and ofta kabob. They have a meat mixed grill if you're indecisive but in a meat-centric mood. In Pinellas Park with about an hour to spare, I wasn't starving but needed a snack... and fast food didn't sound appealing. So of course I checked Yelp to see what was nearby, and Cedars Grill caught my eye with good reviews & its close proximity. After looking at an old menu photo, I decided to try them for take-out. I ordered the hummus for $3.99, which included a bag of warm pita wedges. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of the hummus, and was eating it non-stop for several days. But I was really lured in when I saw Spanakopita on the menu, and at $4.99, their serving was a generous size and a good thickness. I really enjoyed the extra cheesiness & the flaky but not too greasy pastry crust. That spanakopita was so good that I was devastated the next day to find that someone at my home swiped my leftovers from the fridge! I'm definitely getting another one soon. I also tried the Falafel Plate for $5.99, but was less impressed. They were good fresh & warm, but I thought the breading was a bit thick & tough. I'm also still on the fence about the Tahini Sauce. I hope to update this review once I try a full meal from Cedars Grill, but my first visit has me excited to return for more. My food was obviously made to order, and service was friendly. read more

All of the great reviews really had my hopes up to eat here. Maybe they were having an off day, but my food was not good. Kind of gross, actually. Overall, everything was bland, not seasoned at all. The veggie platter; Babaganoush was runny and filled with carrots and was runny. Falafel was dry and flavorless. "Garlic sauce" was just straight up tahini, no garlic to be found or tasted. Grape leaves were way too fermented for me, old and faded with time, falling apart from years of abandon. Pita bread was just from a package. Even sadder than my platter was the "meat pie." Ground meat mixture spread inside of a piece of store-bought flatbread, the folded in half and microwaved. I was actually shocked to be served something that bad. With so many good restaurants in the area, I will be avoiding this one. read more

The food is good and I've enjoyed it the two times I've eaten there for lunch. That said... the customer service is just awful. No one comes back out to check on you once your food is delivered. Then you have to hunt someone down when you want to pay your bill. That's definitely "Customer Care-less" in my book. I can do so much better at another local restaurant. I see here that they got high marks for customer service in the past, so I encourage the owners to get it together and offer good or even great customer service in the future. Good luck. read more

After searching Yelp, I decided to try Cedars for some Mediterranean food as I have been very unimpressed with other options in the area. I called and ordered the food to go and was told they would see me when I got there, no time estimate or anything (loss of a star). Upon arrival I had to wait a bit for them to finish prepping the food. It gave me a chance to scope the place out and check out some of their other offerings. When we got home, I knew we had made the right choice, food was great, especially for the price. It's always the hole in the wall type places that deliver. I will be a regular here moving forward, but likely won't eat at the restaurant as there isn't much ambience.
