Usually I have no complaints but honestly not even properly made chicken. I'd understand if it was busy but 8pm no customers and this is what I get. Fries were old and don't taste good. Service could be better.

Pricey but the flavor is unparalleled. Fresh, golden, well seasoned, moist piping hot chicken during every visit. Whether fried or chopped for salad - you can't go wrong. The flavor profile is unique and unmistakable. Whenever I'm in the area I have no choice but to visit. Give this place a try.

Best Fried Chicken I've had in a long while. Fried to perfection with lots of crunch on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside and the seasoning was amazing! I wish they would sell fried chicken skins as a side. Its that good. I ordered the 2 piece with 1 side that comes with a roll and my side choice was the Mac n Cheese. It was delicious too. Lots of cheesy goodness and seasoned perfectly. My only complaint is that I think the noodles were a little over cooked but I really didn't care that much about it because it tasted so good. The hot roll that came with it was so fresh and fluffy. Also, the staff was super friendly and professional, eager to please. They just made a customer for life. This is the first time I have stopped by, though I have passed it often. Very clean inside and easy to make selections. Lots of sides to choose from. I bought the two piece chicken plate with French fries. The chicken has a nice light seasoning and the skin is crisp. It tasted like it was first roasted, then fried as it was so moist! If you eat in, your food comes out on a real plate. They had people constantly cleaning the seating area, and they checked with me a couple of times to see if I was okay. The family meals seem to be very popular as I think every table except mine had platters of food brought out to them. Everything looked great and all seemed to really enjoy the food. This was a nice change from your regular fried chicken and recommend you give them a try if you are a big chicken eater like I am.

Two piece meal, grilled leg and thigh. Campero rice was yummy! The roll was just bland plain. Would've preferred a tortilla!

I noticed when Pollo Campero opened but it wasn't on a must try list. Often I miss my El Pollo Loco from back in San Diego and thought, maybe it would be like my beloved grilled, crispy, citrus chicken - it wasn't. However, the chicken was quite good. I got a two piece meal, grilled leg and thigh. The chicken had a nice homemade taste to it. Yummy spices (not heat, but spice), moist, a little crispy but it could've used a bit more grill time for my liking. It was comforting and still perhaps could get away with being a better choice health wise than say going to Bojangles. That said, they do serve fried chicken as well, of which I didn't try this time. I got the campero rice as my side which I liked a lot. Good flavor, not plain. You get a choice of roll or Tortilla but they were out of tortillas (on a Saturday at 11:45am). I would like to try the tortilla as the roll was, just a roll. My husband got beans as his side and those were good - kinda creamy, tiny tiny spice. We split an empanada and that was the showstopper. Good chicken filling! It was very busy but we got our food pretty quick. Bummed about lack of tortillas and there also was no ice, which I would've really like to have had because the delicious horchata and the mango beverage would have tasted even better. So, worth a try. I hope they figure out the tortilla and ice demand. Seems like business is doing well! Service was good.

The food is delicious. I got the spicy chicken sandwich and special French fries (the cashier suggested them), and it was scrumptious. Friendly service, delicious drinks (mango something), and spicy means spicy here

I've driven by this place a dozen times and I always notice how full the parking lot is. I decided today was the day and went through the drive-thru and I wasn't disappointed. The menu was straight forward and so I ordered the 4pc fried chicken meal. It came with two sides and rolls. The ordering process was easy enough and the food took a few minutes to come out. It was hot, fresh and crispy and I didn't have to ask for hot sauce because they already included it. I did wish the wing and thigh were a little bigger, but what they lacked in size they made up for in flavor. The sweet plantains and Mac and cheese sides could also be a little bigger in serving, but they were very tasty, as well. I'm happy I tried this place out today because now my family has a new fried chicken joint in their rotation. Hooray!

I've heard a lot of good things about Pollo Campero. I ordered what everyone has been raving about "fried chicken." The chicken was somewhat crispy, very flavorful, and highly seasoned. The rice was okay. I've had better. The roll wasn't good. Very dry! I'm not sure what all the hype is here besides the price point, which is extremely low priced, and for what I got, I see why. Perhaps I should retry something else on the menu. The staff here are nice and keep a smile on their face. Not much of a welcome. There were language barriers in my understanding of the person taking my order. She understood me and kept a smile on her face. It appeared to be clean considering how overly crowded it was on a Sunday afternoon when I visited.

Chicken was great! Rice came out a bag. Rolls cold. Mac was bland. I was extremely turned off by the lack of sanitary awareness of the staff! Staff member was killing flies with a rag, then proceeded to use the same rag to wipe the windows and tables. We made eye contact and she continued as if nothing was wrong. Definitely not a place to sit down and eat, get your food at the drive thru and keep going!

Upsetting experience having two charges from last fall just show up on two of my credit cards. You can't tell me the store didn't notice the lack of income from credit and debit cards since they opened? Something is very fishy here. And they stored our info? Never will I return.

8 piece family pack with 2 sides & dinner rolls

I am not sure if others were getting better food or it was the excitement of getting a TX franchise in NC, but people were outside taking photos with the sign. I was also excited because everyone was walking out with large bags of food. It was my first time here around the beginning of lunch hour and I ordered the 8 piece pack that comes with 2 side choices (mashed potatoes & sweet plantains) and 4 dinner rolls. It doesn't say on the menu, but I asked to get half & half of the fried & grilled chicken. I was given only 1 chicken breast instead of 2 out of the whole chicken. I peeled a bit of each chicken to try as soon as I got the food to make sure I can give an honest review instead of waiting til my food has cooled down from the 20 minute drive home. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I'd hope but the seasoning was a little salty for me. The grilled chicken was ok and had a bit of a strong rosemary taste. The sweet plantains were probably the most decent of the entire meal, but the mashed potatoes I had gotten had been sitting in the warmer too long so it was quite dry and had a weird texture to it. The dinner rolls were nothing too special, definitely not freshly made. I'd hope to give it another try some other time and hopefully with a much better experience.

Obviously, this is our first time, but what we got was amazing. We each got one of the lunch specials. She got boneless wings with the seasoned fries, and I got the wings with the radish. I got the sauce that starts with a "y", and she got half Korean BBQ and half the "Y" sauce. She enjoyed both of the sauces, but liked the BBQ one best. She also ordered one of those Korean "corn dogs" with cinnamon sugar on it, and the Kewpie mayo. I wouldn't get the pickled radish again, it's not what I've eaten elsewhere, but who cares when the wings were so awesome.........amazing........I think young people say they are fire......and they were. The fries were crispy, the wings crispy and well-sauced.......................and I cannot wait to go again. To top it off, our server, Madden, was wonderful. Not named after those guys from the band, Good Charlotte, but after John Madden! Since I know it can be good, let it be known while there if it's not.......because I'm pretty sure they'll make it right.

So I dropped in for a lunch visit and wasn't disappointed AGAIN. I had the lunch special for two. It includes 1 Appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert for $39.99. Our waitress was super nice and gave us great recommendations as well which is always welcomed. I just really think it's pretty cool that they have a bar.

We made 2 trips during the week we were here. The first time I got the chicken and bbq plate, also came with fries and hush puppies and also Cole slaw. As a Florida native. My idea of bbq is different. I'm used to sweet and tangy sauce or a golden mustard sauce. Their sauces are vinegar based with a bit of tomato paste for color and red pepper flakes. I will say it's an acquired taste. It wasn't bad. Their fried chicken was really crispy and it was really juicy, hot and fresh. I also tried their banana pudding which was pretty good. Could have more cookies and add whipped cream, but that's my personal taste. My second trip on the advice of my boyfriend I got the bbq sandwich which you can get with Cole slaw on and then add their vinegar bbq sauce and that was WAY better!! The tangy and creamy together was great. I also go their 3 piece tender snack pack. Wow these tenders were enormous! I had to take them home. One was as big as my hand! Also shared a hotdog with slaw on it and that was meh. I wouldn't get that again didn't care for the hotdog wasn't big enough or juicy enough.
