Got a half chicken meal with yuca and beans. Pretty disappointing, given the good reviews. If I wanted dry-as-jerky rotisserie chicken, I would've gone to a supermarket instead. Even the dark meat was dry. Flavor was good, just crazy dry. Yuca and beans were delish. Food came out quick. Maybe I caught em on an off day.

I have loved Pollo Amigo for years now and the plus their food is consistently done well. Service is awesome. The team remembered me after not being in for years. It is a small classic shop, but it's so cute!! 5 stars all around. I've always gotten the chicken taco salad, but I recently tried the tacos too and perfection!

Wowzers!! So I was driving along York Road and was in the mood for good authentic Latin cuisine. Off to Yelp, I was... and a bunch of places came up but this place had really good reviews and looks very unassuming. From my experience, the small unknown places like this tend to have some of the BEST flavoring. The small mom & pop shops and eateries usually have the best offerings.. besides, it's always better to support small businesses than the major chains. they already have money coming in. This place was really authentic feeling. It reminded me of taquerias I came across in LA, NY, TX & AZ. When the dishes came out, they explained what each one was - which I really appreciated. And man, let me tell you... this food was THA TRUTH!!! Everything was so fresh and the herbs so flavorful, giving the perfect balance to everything. I actually teared up a bit bc it was so good. The individual working in the front came to ask what was wrong since I kept wiping my face. When I said they were tears of joy, the elation on their faces was all I needed (and what they seemingly needed to hear). This was a WIN WIN!!! Now I want to try everything...

I'm back. Right after my dentist appointment I headed over to my favorite pupusa spot. Same as last time, I was able to walk right in and place my order. The owner is always pleasant, and made my order exactly as asked, the slaw being put in a container instead of on the platter. I didn't want my Pupusa to get wet until I'm ready to eat it, and I put the slaw on myself. Dont come for me I'm a picky eater. Overall my food was done before I knew it , its always brought out to the car to you. While waiting, the car next to me alerted me to the persons bringing my food out to me. She also said how the food was delicious, and that she always visit when she's in the area. I can't agree with her more, I was salivating all the way back home from the smell of my food.

This is the Jason burrito. It's soooo good!! And the beans are seasoned to perfection!

This is the Jason burrito. It's soooo good. Service is great every time I visit. The owners are very friendly. This place gives off a "mom and pop" vibe!

The burrito was really small and was lacking in meat. The burrito was 11.95 on the menu yet the cashier demanded 14$. Not a good bang for the buck, whatsoever. There are NO places to sit in the restaurant, and the cashier asked me to wait in my car and for him to drop it off to me.

Very cozy and welcoming place. For starters is not Mexican, it's Peruvian with some Mexican dishes. The servings are very fulfilling and tasty, I ordered the carne asada (grilled beef), it comes with a side of rice, beans and salad also 2 handmade tortillas. One of the best things about this place is even though the food is already cut, you can feel the freshness of it, once in your mouth. Local place, excellent service, affordable for the serving size.

What is this hidden gem??? So I stumbled across here after going engagement ring shopping with a friend at Towson Town Center. At first, I was a little bit worried because it looked sketchy from the outside but I told myself "best food is served at hole-in-the-wall places" and I went in. I am glad that I did. I got Lomo Saltado ($12.95) which was basically steak sauteed in olive oil, onions, tomatoes and herbs served with rice. I cannot comment on if it's authentic Peruvian food since my only experience with Peruvian food is at Chicken Rico. I will say that Pollo Amigo was delicious. They were not stingy about their portion of meat, meat was not chewy, well cooked, and seasoned perfectly. I am a meat + rice kinda girl so this hit the spot. They gave me this green sauce that was super spicy. It reminded me of the green sauce that I get at Chicken Rico. What made it even better was the service. This gentleman (I am guessing is the owner) kept stopping by to ask if we were doing good and gave us so much fries and grilled plantains. Overall, I liked this place much more than Chicken Rico. Better food, better service and cheaper food. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because I noticed that cooking is not consistent; sometimes food is amazing and sometimes it's good but not great.

The chicken burrito. Served with rice and beans, guac, sour cream, and pico. The chicken in the burrito is top notch.

I went to Pollo Amigo for the first time with a colleague over lunch. I got the chicken burrito. Quality authentic food at an unbeatable price point. I ordered a burrito, my colleague got the fajitas. He loved his and I loved mine. The pico was spicy, the sour cream was hearty, the guacamole, wholesome, and the burrito balanced. It was served with rice and beans. So fresh, so clean. It was so good, I went back the next day (today) to get the same thing. Their main attraction is their Peruvian style quarter, half, or whole chickens. I know what I'm ordering next time I'm in. Reminds me a lot of place I went to with my mom growing up. It's nice to see mom and pop businesses still thriving, and reminding me of home. The owners are good people. I forgot my wallet, so I ran home to get it. When I got back, they met me with a smile and a "You didn't have to" look. What they don't know is that I'd pay double for a burrito that good! Pollo Amigo is a most try for people in Towson and Baltimore.

Pollo Saltado... very tasty! no cilantro next time

This hole in the wall joint is ran by a charming gentleman who came over from Spain in 1976. The visit was great & the food was even better! I'll be back. The rice looks basic, but was pretty tasty paired with chicken, veggies, and friend potatoes... which were in fact french fries sauteed with the ckn & veggies.

Pollo Amigo is one of my favorite places to eat in Towson. Anytime I come in I feel like I am treated like family. You cant go wrong with Peruvian chicken, rice and bean, and plantains. Sometimes I mixed it up and get their taco salad, which i love the chicken and the steak. Sometimes I also just order a side of plantains to go. Pro Tip: get the green and yellow sauces, I love to dip my plantains in them, or mix them through my rice and beans.

    Chicken chimichanga
    Emily S.

4.5/5 My friends and I came to this place before going to the movies, and I'm so glad we found it. I got the chicken chimichanga, which is basically a deep fried burrito. Inside the crispy tortilla was rice and chicken, and it came with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, beans, and even more rice on the side. Although it was yummy, I think it was a bit dry and the portions were kind of small. The staff was super friendly and accommodating of my group of 6, and they helped us move around tables so that we could all sit together. The actual restaurant is a bit small, so if you have a large group and plan to dine in, be prepared to move around the tables. Overall, I would probably come back and try the yuca and pollo saltado, a chicken platter with rice and veggies.

The combination of ingredients and the inclusion of a cold mashed potato component were both innovative. I was disappointed with the other courses, though. The veal was tough, the lamp chop was tough, and the desert was not very flavorful. The quinoa flan and the passionfruit ice cream did not match very well in flavor or texture.
