    Polish Martini
    Peter C.

Wow. Been here many times, yet to leave a review. Went here with some close friends for dinner. Started with a shot of Krupnik at the bar, followed up with a delightful Manhattan. The bar is a throwback to the 50's; very cozy, very Polish. Aimee said the wedding photo behind the bar looked like her babcia. The dining room in the back has a gazebo in the middle, lit up and with greenery. We had the pierogie appetizer (Aimee sprinkles on sugar) as a group, delicious. The calamari was also good. For dinner, Aimee had the 'Little Stosh'; one golumbki, which was just like home. I had the Polish platter, which also included a sausage and two pierogi (Aimee ate those). Every dinner comes with pumpkin ice cream for dessert. Had a Polish Martini with dinner - a Martini with krupnik (lol). If you are looking for authentic Polish, you owe it to yourself to come here. I'm convinced that a few of the staff have Polish as their first language. This place has been here for decades; support local!

Entered through the front door never realizing there was a HUGE car parking lot to the side! Took us a while to figure out what was th dining room, since we entered and there was the bar to the left and a white tabletops to the right. After a few minutes we were told about the dining area at the other end! Entering there were already a few tables occupied; we went to the back. A couple came in and were seated near us five minutes later, and we sat and waited while they were waited on first though we were seated first. Finally our orders were taken about ten minutes AFTER we sat, and 6mins after the people were seated after us and were waited on first. Wife ordered a fish fry with potato, and I ordered the baked fish and was never asked how I wanted MY potato. We also ordered calamari which was quickly served and without tentacles, BUT it was very good! Five minutes later came our meal and the wife had her fish served with fries, while I got her pieces of baked potato. The baked fish came out cool to the taste, which I suspect was pre-cooked and just slighted heated before serving as it was NOT hot. The big dining room was very occupied with many tables already occupied, and more people coming in after we arrived. Due to and since finishing my military time, I've always looked at the air vents wherever I eat, and this was the very FIRST eating place I've ever been in - since I began noticing air vents - and each vent was clean and not filthy with dark spots of dirt due to months/years of dirty air blowing out. Along with the free soup I enjoyed while wife had a free salad earlier, and the free dessert after our table was cleared, this is truly an unique place with these tasty freebies! It may be small BUT it's a very nice touch, but on the other hand, they do not offer a military discount.

Yup, this is another WOW place. I waited too long to visit and it's Sad because this place is fantastic. I entered from the street side and I had to walk past the bar and into the main dining. The place is a bit rustic but it fits the culture of the food. The staff were very pleasant and always showed a wonderful smile. I ordered the typical Polish Platter and it was amazing. It came with sausage, stuffed cabbage, a potato, two pierogi's; one cheese and one potato, and sauerkraut. It was an amazing dish and it also came with dessert, pumpkin ice cream pie and coffee. I'm in heaven, so much food and the price is very low for what you get. Ella was a perfect host, she was always kinda and very attentive and friendly. Her accent was very appropriate for the ambiance and she was amazing. I also ordered two Muddled Old Fashions and these were delicious. They a complimented the meal and added to the enjoyment of the meal. I am sad that I didn't try this place weeks ago but if I return to the area I will make sure this is my first stop.

Came here for their twin lobster tales and Polish platter. They did not disappoint. The lobster tails were well priced and delicious. My wife loves their Polish Platter especially the Pierogis. Situated in an old house in NIagara Falls and the inside looks like the 50's. They give you soup or salad, bread and coffee or tea and Pumpkin ice cream pie with your entree. Service is always great.

First time coming to the Polish Nook and yes I would come back and hoping for one exception: THE WAIT TIME! Literally my only complaint is that we waited an entire hour for our meals to come out for a table of 4, 3 of which were fish fry's! No meal is worth an hour wait to me. Now on to the good stuff... I liked the ambience of the restaurant. It was nice but in a casual way. Service was excellent! Can't beat the fish fry price which came with: bread and butter, soup or salad, fish, coleslaw, choice of potato (fries, baked, or parsley I think), and dessert. $13.95. Fish is a breaded haddock. I chose a salad with the house dressing which was like a sweet vinaigrette. Loved it. The fish was so crispy and delicious! And the real kicker: I have hated coleslaw my whole life.., always wanted to like it but can't stand more than one bite. So I normally don't even try it anymore but theirs looked so good I tried it and I actually ate half of it! So good! Fries were good too, but hey, they're fries. I also tried a bite of the stuffed cabbage which I am very picky about because my nana makes the very best and often I will actually have a hard time swallowing someone else but this was not bad at all! I would eat it. Dessert was the star for me; some sort of vanilla ice cream with pumpkin concoction topped with whipped cream. Devine! I would absolutely come here again and cross my fingers that service will be faster. Waitress said it was likely due to some larger parties that were seated so I'll give it another shot since everything else was great.

This restaurant has been on my radar for around a year. Nestled in a neighborhood, where if you didn't know about it or YELP , one would miss out on this treasure of a place. My mom and I were huge fans of Polish authentic home cooking. Stopping here was win, to honor her memory, and our love of local Polish food. The décor in this family owned restaurant, with long wood bar, and large dining room fit for being open since 1964. Family run restaurants are cherished within any community. I would rate their food, as others have wrote Grandmas home cooking....accept I actually had a polish grandma, she didn't make pierogi, but did make a lot of other great things, before she passed. On to the food, I ordered the sampler platter of their pierogi, which was three smaller size that came with chopped up onions, cheese, kraut, and potato. With it a side of sauerkraut. The pierogis were melt in your mouth, the cheese had a sweeter texture then, my usually favorites from my local Polish restaurant in my neighborhood. The sauerkraut should win an award, its the best I've ever had and the dill taste is what makes it. Thank you Debbie, I believe the ladies name was that took care of me for my takeout order. Staff is pleasant, welcoming, and worth stop at and trying out.

Kid says two thumbs up. He tried all three kinds of pierogies, salad with house vinegarette, pork chops, fish fry, Polish sampler and desert. Loved everything except what you'd expect kids to like (honey glazed buttered carrots....which the adults loved).

What an absolutely delightful gem of a restaurant tucked away. Maybe it isn't tucked away and this is the place to be!! I was in town from Dallas and came in for dinner and it felt like family as soon as walking in. Now my fellow diner did know some of the staff members but the experience was so very welcoming and I'd gather to say if I went again I would be welcomed the same, as if I was family. Such a cozy interior, I sat in the back, the front looked to have a bar area and though I did see patrons there I didn't hear them at all. The food, oh the food, I got the sampler dish I believe it was the Polish platter which had the most scrumptious sausage, pyrohy, gulompky, potatoes and cabbage. The cabbage, I guarantee they would never part ways with the cabbage recipe as I've never had cabbage melt in my mouth the way their cabbage did. When I say everything was amazing, it was. Your meal is even topped off with a dessert of a pumpkin pie, equally delicious, if you have room!! When I tell you NOT to pass this restaurant up, if you are looking for food that immediately brings memories or just makes you feel comfortable this is it. Will definitely be back when I'm in town. Thank you for a delightful visit!!

First time here and it was great. I ordered the fish fry and it was so fresh and flaky not like a regular fish fry that's greasy and thick. The dill coleslaw was a nice surprise. I have never had that before and it was yummy. I also had the pierogi trio (potato, sauerkraut and cheddar). Absolutely delicious. At the end of my meal I enjoyed the pumpkin pie ice cream that came with my meal which was the perfect ending to a great meal. Definitely one of the best places for fish fry I lve ever had and the ambiance and service is A+. My waitress was so nice and attentive. I highly recommend anyone to try this place out. You won't be disappointed

For my son, we tried ordering the schnitzel sandwich, but was told that was unavailable. My son doesn't eat mashed potatoes so I asked if I could just order him a schnitzel and she said yes. The food came out in about 15 minutes. The cabbage rolls were fantastic, the perfect amount of acidity in the sauce. I really don't like tomatoes or cabbage, but there is something special about the cabbage rolls. I ate very bit of mine. The pierogies were wonderful. I usually prefer just potato and cheese, but honestly between those and the meat, I couldn't decide which I liked more. Both were flavorful especially with the sauteed onions and sour cream. My son's schnitzel was huge! He could only eat about half of it and when my son asked for ketchup (much to my dismay) the owner was very nice about it and commented that's the way her daughter likes it too. Honestly the food was absolutely wonderful and the service was great. It was very similar to what I had in Poland. If this restaurant was closer to my home I would visit often. We had no issue with parking. We were able to get a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. Parking was also not too expensive since you aren't in the downtown area. If you are in the area and want a wonderful meal, be sure to visit.

In several instances, food was being brought out for only some people at a time for a few tables. Then by the time mine comes (and I'm starving btw), it's almost completely different than what was described on the menu, and even worse, the waitress didn't realize?! I ordered the Sto lat omelette because I'm Polish and love the flavor combinations of farmers cheese, sour cream and dill. Here's how the menu described it: "smoked kielbasa, bacon, farmers cheese, tomato, caramelized onion, mushroom sauce, sour cream, dill" What I actually got was an omelette with cheddar instead of farmers cheese, and no sour cream or dill. The added home fries and ketchup were a nice surprise though. When I made the waitress aware that this seems to be a different omelette than described on the menu, she said "there's only one omelette on the menu". I pointed out the swapped cheese and missing ingredients, and she asked if I wanted the kitchen to remake it, or just bring me the missing items. I said I'd be fine with being brought the missing items. So they brought me out a dill sauce (?), and sour cream (no farmers cheese). Then charged us full price, no apology. While I enjoyed the different omelette they brought, I was disappointed to miss out on the Polish flavors I was looking forward to. While the atmosphere is cool and maybe a drink at the bar would be fine, I absolutely will never come back for food.

While these don't have all of the characteristics you'd expect from a traditional Polish pierogi, they're still very good considering they're made by Ukrainians who were self-taught from the internet. I ordered 4 fried sweet farmer cheese pierogies ($8.99) and 4 fried spicy Buffalo pork butt pierogies ($8.99). They were small and although golden brown, still very soft for being fried. While Daisy sour cream was included, fried onions were not (although available as an add-on to purchase). The dough flavor and consistency was very good! And I commend their creativity with the fillings, including some traditional and non-traditional fillings. I was surprised that the farmers cheese was sweetened (I didn't see that they were sweet when I ordered them), so it was moreso a dessert pierogi instead of a traditional (savory) farmers cheese pierogi. They were still delicious though! The Spicy Buffalo pork butt was also great, and covered in hot sauce. This is a takeout restaurant, but they have four picnic tables outside (in the sun, without umbrellas). They have two windows for ordering: a self-serve kiosk on the left, and an ordering window with a real person on the right. However the menus are digital so with the bright sun, it was difficult to read. They really could improve the ordering experience by having paper menus available. Overall I'd recommend you stop by and support this new business. Although they're not the homemade Pierogies some Polish Buffalonians may expect, they have enough similarities to still be enjoyed by the harshest pierogi critics like me, as well as any normal person who would find them delicious as-is!
