So I've been here twice now and I really enjoy it. I got a large bowl both times. The first time was okay as far as service goes. I got a teenage girl who was very short with her words and honestly kind of rude. She was rushing the whole thing and I was the only one in there until I walked out and someone walked in. But as far as food goes and quality of it, I really enjoyed it. The second time I went which was Sunday night was amazing. I was a teen boy who was really nice, respectful, and diligent with him work. When i asked for avocado they didn't have anymore. He said he could go ask them to make more but it was near closing so I said it's fine I'll just take another two scoops of imitation crab which normally cost an extra $1. He said he would give it to me for free since they didn't have avocado which was very nice. Its really good fix for a fish or sushi craving without having to wait in a restaurant. read more

Simply amazing! So I've got to really give this place the stars for bringing the pokirito into my life. The sushirito all over social media had me dying to find something like that without driving an hour North or south, and now smack in the middle of Oceanside, here it is! Decent selection of fish to choose from and a fair amount of toppings and sauces, even though I have been to other Poke places with far less and far more to choose from, this place falls in the middle. This place compared to others does give a lot more portions per order, as a two scooper will be more than enough for most people here. Like many Poke places, the customer service is great here, very friendly and professional. The wait may take a little, but that usually how it goes at any Poke shop. When I got home, my tuna was beyond frozen. They were iced cubes. I waited for them to defrost and none of the soy nor sause would get them flavor. No matter where we go, poki poki is always amazing! You either get a small bowl (2 scoops- $8.95) or a regular bowl (3 scoops $9.95). Then you choose a base, and then your protein- salmon, ahi tuna, spicy tuna, scallop, yellow tail, albacore, yellow tail, octopus, shrimp. Then your toppings. They now have pokirito(I think that's how you spell it) - poki burrito wrapped. It's just the bowl wrapped in nori. Picture attached. Same price as the bowls. Apologies in advance I am about to rant. I am HIGHLY disappointed in this company. My boyfriend and I we're regulars of all of their three locations and have been for over a year. But this week was the last time I will purchase food from this company. Mostly by the way that the situation was handle. Last Sunday night my boyfriend got our usual separate bowls and brought them home to watch a movie. Half way through his bowl he made a weird face and stuck his fingers in his mouth and starting choking. I grew worried as he started to pull something out. And out came A piece of packaging/plastic over 6" long as he gagged. He obviously didn't eat the rest and was super turned off and disappointed. Not to mention it made him throw up and scratch the inside of his throat. The next day I brought the piece of plastic in so I could speak to a manager. They were not there. So I left my info and stated I wanted someone to get ahold of me. I finally got a call later that night and the manager didn't have much to say. "Oh I am sorry about that. Maybe it came off the sea weed salad or salad mix. I can give you a free regular bowl." I explained that this is a bigger issue and would like to discuss it more. She asked me to come down the next day and bring the item in. My boyfriend and I went in Wed. Evening to speak the manager. She still stuck to her same story. "Sorry. I'll give you a free bowl." At this point I just wanted a refund from our meal Sunday and a couple free bowls for the fact that we came down twice. But she only wanted to refund us for one bowl. I asked for the full bill of $28 to be refunded. She didn't want to but did. But then when I asked "well can we atleast get a couple of bowls for tonight. " "No I'm sorry that's all I can do." So I asked for the item back and that I was incredibly disappointed. The fact is my boyfriend could have died and I should have gotten a lawyer. My boyfriend and I were regulars and also have worked in the food industry for many years and honestly this was handled horribly. There was no concern or empathy from this manager and That's what I am most upset about. I will not return to any of these locations. And I will make sure to tell everyone else I know to not as well. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would. Management is horrible(I use to work here part time). Last time I came in for a pokeritto the quality has definitely gone down. Rice was old and tough and and the ahi tuna was disgusting it made me nauseas. The times I've worked here I dug out old moldy onions that was "ready" to be served to customers. We constantly got paid SOO late, we got paid a month late one time and a coworker complained to management and he told her "What are you gonna do about it? Sue me? Go ahead, I have good lawyers." She quit on the spot. Honestly I would not support this location whatsoever. If you want good quality poke I recommend wicked poke or Grubby's poke. This place is cheap and disgusting. This location is different from the original place as well so pricing and policy is going to be different, extra crab? Extra seaweed? You will get charged. read more

Lack of basic customer service concepts I love the food at Poki Poki, but this is my first time at this particular one. Someone needs to teach them some basic customer service concepts. I asked for a couple of soy-sauce plastic containers. (the clear little tubs). He told me "the soy sauce is over there," and pointed to the tiny little packets. I didn't ask for a bunch of packets. I asked for a tub of the stuff. (I need to open about 5-7 packets to get the amount of sauce in one tub, and I usually use two tubs for a bowl. I like me some soy sauce.) If a customer asks for a soy sauce tub, give them a soy sauce tub, dang it. What the heck are they there for???? My wife then asked me if we should eat there or go home. I said here. He said "we're closing. we just put up the chairs." It was 8:45. I've worked food service and we NEVER did that, not even at 8:59. Yes, you tell new customers at 9:00 you're closed. You've got plenty of clean up work to do while the latest customers finish. Sure... if you're done putting your food away and they're still sitting there, politely tell them you need to mop the floor or whatever, but I could never imagine telling someone at 8:45 they could not sit down to eat their meal they just bought. Especially when it's poki. What's that take to eat? 5 mins? 10 mins? I'm just saying I would have been out of there long before they actually closed. Yea, I know #firstworldproblems. read more

We go here a lot because it's very convenient, but it's also fresh and delicious! I usually get the trio of fish with half salad, half rice. There are so many great additions you can make to your bowl and they're always friendly and patient while you make your selections. I've never had issues with frozen fish as others have indicated. If you like poke, you should definitely give them a try. read more

The only reason this is 3 stars and not 5 is because they typically only have one person working. Therefore, your wait time is usually minimum of 15 minutes. The poor girl working has to build your Poki bowl. Take her gloves off and then ring you up. Then has to wash her hands. Put gloves on again and then wait on the next person. 1 STAR I gave the Poki Poki in Vista which is only about 3 miles away from this one 5 stars about a month ago. I was getting my dry cleaning today and saw a new Poki Poki location with a grand opening banner. I got really excited as I go to the other Poki Poki in vista about 2 times a week. I walk in expecting the same awesome customer service and great fresh fish and good potions as the other location. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The guy who helped me out was totally out of it, he wasn't really rude you could just tell he didn't care. My go to combinations in 2 yellowtail and 2 spice tunas. I noticed there was no yellowtail, asked the gentleman and he said they had been out over a week and didn't know when they would get it in and he would tell his boss but the boss doesn't really come around to often. I got the salmon, mistake. Warm :/. Picked it off the bowl so I would get sick I then got to the topping and asked if I could get 2 scoops of imitation crab. I was surprised to hear that it would be extra because i was told by the vista location that I could get up to 3 scoops at no additional charge. I asked why this location was different and they told me there are 2 owners and one owner gives gives if for free but the owner who oversees this location charges.......WHAT!? The two owners need to get on the same page because that kinda stuff can really frustrated there customers. The customer service was really lacking but I don't blame the workers I blame the owner. Needles to say I will not be coming back to this location. read more

So happy that they opened another one of these next to the gym I go to. As always, you can expect a very clean restaurant and speedy service. The last three times ive been here, there was no line and the place seemed to be empty (score!). I really do like being the only one in any restaurant lol. You order like you would when ordering a Subway sandwich, and the names of the items are clearly printed on the window with a sticker. Portions here is just right and honestly you can share a large bowl with two people...exactly what I did yesterday. Overall, if you are a fan of poke bowls this place a is a MUST! Just left, still currently eating my bowl and I am SO happy with the service and food here. I was a little hesitant because some of the reviews stated that customer service was awful and bowl was "OK." However, the girl that helped me went above and beyond by mixing my whole bowl together because I had asked if they had a larger container to put the food in, being that I was going to eat it in the car. They did not but without me even asking she said she'd just mix it together. She was so sweet and accommodating! The prices were much better than the poke place I frequent near my house, and I even got avocado, which is $1 more, and it was still cheaper. My only complaint is that there were two little boys there, (maybe owners kids?) They were behind the counter, touching everything and sort of a distraction to the workers trying to do their jobs. Soooo, that needs to be handled accordingly by the owner but does not have anything to do with the awesome service I received and great poke bowl I'm eating... just a little bothersome. read more

I was originally introduced to poke when the first location off Marron road opened up. It was a little far for me so when a different poke place opened I started going there. While they are good too this location is much closer to both work and home for me. They aren't stingy with their scoops or toppings at this location either. There was ovne time I went close to closing and the white rice was a bit old but that is besides the point. Everything is fresh and they don't skimp on the masago, my favorite part. If you are going to have fast food then you might as well have something that tastes great and is good for you. Poki Poki is a great addition to the growing business area around College and Oceanside Blvd. I've been stopping here since it opened in September for work lunches and after hours or weekends when I'm in the area. I like their broad menu and generous portions as there are many similar places that charge twice as much for half the food. I especially like the fresh protein choices: salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, yellowtail, scallops, albacore, shrimp - just to name a few. I was introduced to poke several years ago as an alternative to boring old salad. In case you're new to poke, it's a Hawaiian dish, loaded with protein, good omega 3 fats, veggies (like seaweed, soybean, radishes, and garlic), and it can be low calorie depending on what you add (go easy on the various mayo sauces!). This location has been great: clean with lots of seating and fair prices. The only reason that I didn't give it a higher rating is because of the staff which could be a little more focused on customer service and less texting on their phones and chatting. If you stop by, make sure to try the, "Pokirito" also called a sushirito at other restaurants - think sushi burrito and you'll be on the right track...super yummy. read more
