So I ordered a couple plates from here and this is your higher end LNL Hawaiian kitchen type food, but I would say the curry mix was really delicious because it was both thick and not salty and had the right amount of spice to it. I would also say they gave you a lot of chicken for the plate that you get the downside that I would vote for is the kimchi was not great. It was probably a little odd being so sweet and I would say it was not really fresh. Overall, I give this high ranks for the protein and the serving size and the variety of options that you can get the spam was pretty good, although they did throw in a brick of rice, which was a lot within the spam sandwich

Teriyaki Chicken and Katsu Combo ($15.99) - The highlight of this plate was the katsu's breading. It was light and had a nice flavor while the chicken was juicy and nicely fried. This might be one of my new favorite katsu dishes! I also loved the Teriyaki Chicken, which was grilled to perfection and had a sweet and savory teriyaki glaze. Looking forward to trying more dishes from here!

Warning, eating here will invoke lots of Mmmmm's and Wow's! What great flavor! This place is charming. From the minute you walk in there is fun music playing and the employees have welcoming smiles. Just a great vibe. The food isn't as heavy as other places (no lump sitting in the bottom of your stomach feeling), the flavors and ingredients invoke pleasantly satisfying. My new favorite!

Family-owned restaurant that has a fusion of Japanese, Korean, and Hawaiian inspired entrees. My husband and I enjoy coming here during those weeknights when we want great food, but don't feel like making food over our kitchen stove. I love their chicken katsu curry and my husband loves their chicken sandwich with fries! They also have Sapporo and Asahi for the beer lovers. The service here is always wonderful and the restaurant clean and inviting. Parking is easy to find since it's located in a plaza with plenty of space for visitors. Love how they have shaded outdoor seating. We always take our dog with us since they have patio seating.

This kept coming up as a suggestion but I thought it was connected to Teri cafe (had a bad experience) so I didn't go. Someone told me they aren't related so I read the reviews and decided to try it. It's in the old Truphilly cheesesteak location We walked in and there were to go orders on the counter (good sign) and 2 sets of people waiting for their orders. It's got a few 4 tops and quite a few 2 top tables, plus 2 large outdoor tables for bigger parties. We looked at the menu and took a bit to decide. We ended up getting Kalbi teriyaki and fire chicken teriyaki. The come with rice and Mac salad. The man at the counter was helpful and welcoming. He always kept our waters full too. We chose a table and our waters were brought promptly. As we waited the togo orders were picked up and the restaurant started to fill up. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time. It was perfectly cooked and had a lot of flavor. The Mac salad was some of the best I've had in a very long time, not overly mayo laden. The fire teriyaki was too hot for me (I'm kind of wimpy), but the flavor was really good. I really had a hard time choosing because there is so much I want to try. I'll be back soon and I'm looking forward to it.

I saw it was a fusion of different flavors put together. I figured I'd try something different. I thought it would be more like L & L Hawaiian BBQ. It wasn't and I ended up not liking the beef or macaroni salad. The chicken katsu I liked and ate it, but it could've used a little more flavor. The spam musubi was ok. I ordered it and had a friend pick it up and drop it off so I didn't get to see the inside of the store. The lady who took my order over the phone was very nice and patient. I do agree it's a little pricy. Just not for my taste buds.

UTK, The beginning of your Asian, Hawaiian Fusion experience in Carlsbad, CA.

This kitchen has only been open since April 2025. It's how you would expect a small family owned restaurant would begin. Solid table and chairs with AMAZING food. Our trip to Urban Teri Kitchen (UTK) began on the east coast sitting in an airport looking for food for once we arrive in Carlsbad. Hello UTG. Curiosity, with an interesting menu and we found our place. Once we arrived we ordered our food at the counter after some excellent suggestions from the cashier. The food was made to order. We waited about 15 mins and they brought it to our table. We dug in and OMG!!! For our appetizers we ordered egg rolls, saying that they were fresh doesn't even begin to describe them. Best egg rolls I've had in forever. The other app we had where the Tempura Shrimp. Fresh and crisp and cooked to a golden brown. Tasty and fresh. We arrived before the dinner rush and the main meals rocked. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and kalbi combo #5. It was fresh, fresh, fresh. The chicken pulled apart easily and packed with flavor. The Kalbi was tender and easy to cut with a knife. The flavor was so good and have I said fresh. The Korean Chicken #9 was so good, one bite and I had to put my down my fork and savor the moment. The flavors and freshness were delicious. We are looking forward to our return. If you're in the area, swing by for a plate. If I had one recommendation to make this food experience even better, it would be a larger glass of the pineapple lemonade.

My daughter and I were in the area, saw this place and decided to try it. We're glad we did! Located in a strip mall, it wasn't busy on a Thursday mid-afternoon, so parking was easy. Walking in, it was clean & quiet with K-Pop showing on the one TV in the place. There's a good amount of seating for dining in. We walked up to the front counter to order our food and the employee was nice and helpful in answering our questions. There's many items on the menu to choose from. I ordered the tiki chicken sandwich, and my daughter opted for the Korean chicken wings w/ fries. The food came out in a timely manner. The coating on the chicken on both my sandwich and the wings were nice & crispy, you can hear the crunch, and they were seasoned well. I loved the flavors of the sandwich. It tasted like a sweet soy on the chicken. That along with the pineapple & pickles? Harmony. The only thing that was a challenge for me was keeping everything in it together in each bite. I found myself needing to constantly adjust the bun, chicken & condiments. I really needed to eat this with a fork & knife. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the chicken wings and the sauces it came with. We also tried their mango-ade and it was delicious. Refreshing with the right amount of sweetness. Overall, it's a good place to get a bite to eat. Looking forward to trying their other dishes.

I did not recall seeing alcohol on the menu. Friends and I all drank water, but I recall a few choices but don't think they were alcoholic, and I was t familiar with the choices.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, around 6pm. Not terribly busy, but there was a consistent flow of customers. We were a large group of 10, and we were taken care of. We ordered at the counter and our food was brought out to us. Even though there is technically no waiter service, the guy behind the counter was so nice and attentive, keeping our water cups filled, and clearing our empty plates after. Everything was yummy... the Korean fried chicken, katsu, tofu.. all things that were suppose to be crispy all had a nice crunch to it. Hawaiian flavors are generally on the sweeter side, and their teriyaki sauce is no different. The rice was nice and fluffy, and macaroni salad was also flavorful but also mild enough to balance the sweet soy flavors. The kids enjoyed the ramen, gyozas, and the spam musubi too. Clean dining area, satisfying portions, good prices, friendly service. Totally worth checking out.

Every time I come, the teriyaki chicken is incredibly tender, and the rice is just cooked right, which is very important to me. I love how everything tastes consistently the same every time I come. The blue lemonade is a MUST, especially in the warm San Diego weather.

Was able to come and experience Urban Teri Kitchen, on its very first day open! The establishment used to be home to a Philly cheesesteak place but in my opinion im actually glad they have the space. The food is DELICIOUS, very good blend of asian and Hawaiian flavors, i got the fire teriyaki plate that comes with a side of white rice and mac salad. And the servings were generous. We also got the bulgogi fries which exceeded our expectations as the bulgogi was so so good. Unfortunately i forgot to take a pic of my wife's ramen but she rated it a 9.5 out of 10. The service was very good, and they made us feel like part of the family. I am excited to come back to try more foods on their menu!

Craving ramen, but wanted to try something a little different from the usual eateries we haunted around Carlsbad area. Okay, we went a little inland because we also wanted to check out a food truck stand around the Vista area (see review for No More Boring Cakes). Anyway, back to this eatery... we ordered Katsu ramen, mixed chicken plate that included macaroni salad and rice to eat in, and we also ordered a chicken sandwich to go. My boyfriend's plate was very tasty, but my ramen was omgee dee-freakin-licious. That bowl really satisfied my ramen-Jones. Total bill price for ramen and plate was affordable - altho' sandwich was a little on the pricey side. I compare it to the ramen at Harumama in Carlsbad and I must say, I do prefer the ramen here... even if my boyfriend begs to differ. I'd like to try the other items on the menu. Ya, I'll be back; with our without the boyfriend.

It was good Hawaiian type food. A bit expensive once the whole meal was added up. It was a decent setting and service was good.

I was kind of bummed that I was the only person dining for lunch, they honestly deserve a crowd. The food and service was 10/10. The setup is really cute on the inside as well and I was able to sit comfortably at a table with my daughter's stroller right next to me. Upon entering, I was greeted right away. I already knew that I wanted to order the Khao Soi because I had looked up their menu and pictures way before coming in and it looked like their specialty. I ordered an iced jasmine green tea as well and chose a table to sit at. The woman who took my order was really nice and helpful with ordering. My food didn't take long to come out, and it was DELICIOUS. This was my first time trying this dish so I didn't know what to expect but it was everything and more. It was topped with what I think was fried onion and chili crisp as well for some added spice. The tea was also so delicious, the crushed ice they use is my favorite. The tea was garnished with an orange slice and my toddler decided to much on it. The woman who took my order noticed my daughter eating the orange slice and she brought me out a couple more on the side. You really don't experience that level of customer service anymore, so it was such a sweet gesture. They have a lot of other things on their menu that I would love to come back and try. I also used the restroom before leaving and it was super clean. I honestly have no complaints whatsoever and I hope this business continues to thrive!

I'm not sure if he was the owner, manager, or a staff member. We are also Asian family. The restaurant are not busy with only one table with two customers eating at the moment we arrived and got seated on the table. The first thing that seemed odd was when he asked if we wanted to be seated at two separate tables or at a round booth. There were five of us--my wife, our three kids (ages 11, 8, and 5), and me--so I wasn't sure why sitting at two separate tables was even suggested. The bigger issue happened when we were ready to order. We scanned the QR code to view the menu, and the same employee told us that only one person should place an order through the app. However, when my wife scanned the QR code just to view the menu, the app already showed three guests and several items in the order before we had selected anything. My wife politely asked for help, but instead of trying to understand the issue, the employee immediately responded in a rude tone, saying, "That's why I told you only one person should place the order." The problem was that we hadn't placed any orders at all--we had only scanned the QR code to look at the menu. When he came to our table, I explained that I hadn't selected anything. He checked my phone, saw that there was already an order in the system, and I told him those weren't our items. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging that it might have been an issue with their ordering system, he became defensive and continued speaking to us as if we had caused the problem. He eventually said he could fix it, but by then his attitude had already made us feel like we were being blamed for something that wasn't our fault. We weren't complaining--we were simply asking for help with what appeared to be an issue with their app. Unfortunately, the employee's attitude made us feel unwelcome, so we decided to leave without ordering and eat somewhere else. Customer service is just as important as the food. If there's an issue with the restaurant's ordering system, staff should be patient, respectful, and willing to help instead of immediately blaming customers. A simple apology and a willingness to assist would have gone a long way. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.

Although there is booth seating for groups of four, this place is best for solo or date-dining. The service here is fast, friendly and very welcoming. This is because it is owned by a husband, wife and son; so there is a very personal touch when it comes to customer service.
