Line was really short and they have affordable prices. The fish was delicious and I was able to sample the sauces to see if I liked them or not. My daughter got a gift card for her birthday so we decided to treat ourselves. We both got large poke bowls. They were generous with the portions on proteins and all the yummy things we chose. Everything was fresh and tasty. My daughter was especially happy that they have albacore as a protein choice. Sooo yummy! I usually have a specific poke spot I love but that's down in Pacific Beach so I decided to try this one day because it's next door to this shop I always go to. Super good. I usually love this place everything is always great, but tonight was incredibly disappointing. I came in about 10 minutes before closing, and I know that can be annoying, which is why I asked if it was okay and made it clear I'd leave if it wasn't. Instead of being told no, I was met with a huge sigh, aggressive movements, and a cold attitude from the guy up front. He started making my order while visibly annoyed, and it just made me really uncomfortable. I told him never mind and started to walk out. What happened next was completely out of line he called someone from the back (a guy wearing a headband), and when that guy saw me leaving, he flicked me off. Absolutely no reason for that kind of disrespect. If they had simply said they were done for the night, I would've understood and left. But to treat a customer like that is unprofessional and unnecessary. I hope management addresses this, because behavior like this doesn't reflect the usually great service here. read more

Kinda confused about the negative reviews. As another said if this isn't a big enough portion for you it's on your appetite. I was full from my regular size bowl. I think the pricing and portion is similar to other poke places In the area. Maybe slightly more expensive and a tiny bit smaller. Not enough to complain or not return. They had all the classic options and toppings plus a few more. I like that they had a big variety of sauces. I tried the mild house and it was still pretty spicy. I'm not sure how we have not found this place sooner. I've been to this shopping strip a number of times but didn't notice it being here. We we're looking for a poke place to have takeout dinner one night and we were in northern Carlsbad. We had this place in our list to go to but got stuck going to another for some time. This time, we checked our list and decided to try something new and I'm so glad we did. I can't recall all the items I put in my bowl but I had a half & half with greens and chips. The sauce made my bowl so delicious I look forward to come if back. They even gave us a sauce sample for us to try. All so good! Great value: I go for the more classic poke bowl ingredients: ahi tuna on white rice with crab, onions, cucumber and spicy ponzu sauce with sesame oil. For toppings, I add masago, green onions, seaweed salad, a little ginger, furikake and sesame seeds. Tonight I added a little sriracha mayo on top. PERFECTION. I come here so much that it's time for a review update. I have honestly been trying other poke places and there's none as good as this place, so a star rating increase is in order. While they switched from pineapple to mango, everything is as high quality as from when they opened. No matter who helps me, workers are enthusiastic and friendly. I let them be mix-masters and throw together whatever sauces they like or think will go nice together, so my bowl is different every time. The covid setup is excellent; they let 2 parties in at once. Sometimes there's a line but it's always worth the wait. Overall, I look forward to many return visits and I do recommend this place to others. read more

I wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, the food quality didn't meet my expectations compared to other poke spots I've tried. The cucumber had a soggy texture, and the poke itself just wasn't very good. While the service was fast, it felt rushed--even though there wasn't anyone waiting in line. I also ordered a side of miso soup, but it was served in what looked like a mini coffee cup, which was disappointing. Just sharing my honest experience in hopes it's helpful. read more

This place may have changed ownership. The quality of the food is down, the prices are way up, and the scoops of fish they give you is laughable. TINY scoops of fish for a very expensive bowl. Will nickel and dime you for anything they think can be charged in addition to the bowl - cups, larger bowl size used for convenience, salad, sauces. In addition, the attitude towards paying customers is atrocious! This is not the way to run a business. Rather than wasting time and money on this place. This place has decent poke and pretty standard for the north county poke places. I got a large bowl with white rice, salmon and tuna. It was pretty tasty and I e joyed the sauces that were on it. They have a decent selection of fish and toppings and I enjoy how efficient they are. As for COVID, they only allowed two parties at a time and they kept a large distance between the workers and customers. I would say the only downside is that the scoops of fish are fairly small for the price and definitely smaller portions for the price. But overall I'd youre looking for a pretty standard poke place than this should do just fine. read more

Horrible customer service. Pushy. I wanted to use the restroom before ordering. Asked for the key or code and the guy said: "Only for bowl buying customers" wow. rude. I felt like I was forced to buy a bowl bc my 7yr old was already using the restroom : / . I would probably walked out and take my business someplace else where they were more nice. 2nd: as you can see in my picture the bowl has not many ingredients. A $16 bowl not worth the price. There was many more ingredients I would loved to add but they were bad and wilted. Cucumbers were old, freezer burned, and other vegetables not fresh at all. Leaving me no choice but to pick only 3 ingredients. This was the somewhat the freshest I could pick. Basically $16 for lettuce & and a tiny bit of salmon ‍ lol read more

Saucy! One thing that makes this poke spot stand out is that they pour all the sauce mixture (from fish) all over your rice. The rice is completely soaked and it's not dry like other poke places might be. I also really really like their octopus, it was cooked perfectly and it wasn't chewy! They have unique sauces as well, I got the nutty sesame and devilish sweet miso (perfect balance of sweet and miso). I took of 1 star because they charge $2 for seaweed salad, which is an expensive extra to add. Not sure how much seaweed salad then give you but I'm used to it being included and I've gone to other spots that include it on top of many other toppings. The workers have exceptional service. The store practices Covid-19 regulations and will clean the tables outside as needed. Luckily, when we went there was no one else eating outside. read more

The fish always tastes fresh, bowl sizes are more than enough and everything down to the sauces tastes great! I love that you can do half and half of rice and mixed greens and that you have a choice of up to 5 proteins for a large bowl, which is usually what I get. Let's get the negative out of the way first. The value is seriously lacking here with the tiny scoops of fish. A small bowl with 2 tiny scoops of fish is $15+ with tax. The scoops are truly tiny, the size of a toy ice cream scoop. In fact, a regular ice cream scoop would probably yield 4 of their tiny scoops. Yet, I still keep coming back because they do load up with other fresh ingredients. And with prices going up everywhere, the options for a meal under $20 puts this in the running for a decent option. read more
