We were running some errands in the area and figured grabbing a quick meal might not be a terrible idea. I'd had my eye on Pokeworks for a while so it was a bit of a no-brainer.
A quick perusal of their menu led me to the Hawaiian Ahi ("Ahi tuna, cucumber, sweet onion, shredded nori, eeamame, Pokeworks Classic sauce, chili flakes, seaweed salad, green onion, sesame seeds, seasonal crunch").
It was ready a few minutes later and it's decent. All the components taste very fresh and there's an impressive amount of tasty ahi in there. I didn't realize the crunchy element was optional and I feel like it could've used something crunchy to add some texture. The classic sauce isn't as flavorful as I was hoping, as it basically tasted like a generic, store-bought salad dressing.
I should note I tried my dining companion's Yuzu Ponzu Salmon and it was a lot better, as the sauce in that one was bright and citrusy.
Aside from my issues with the sauce, I enjoyed my meal at Pokeworks. It's nice to have an option in a shopping plaza that isn't deep-fried fast food. read more
