I was craving for some poke and didn't want to drive to another favorite spot in the middle of Mira Mesa, so figured I'd check yelp to test my luck. Lo and behold, I found Poke Point as a new spot pretty close to home and ratings looked pretty good. The hubs and I went to try it out for dinner and we were overall impressed. I had the medium bowl with steamed white rice, 3 scoops of tuna with poke sauce (sweet, tangy sauce perfectly coating the fish... yummy!), scoop of crab, sliced cucumber, pineapple, corn, toasted garlic, and sesame seeds. The fish didn't taste stale at all nor was overpoweringly fishy, especially during our visit late in the evening. The topping selections were great as well, however they do charge extra for avocado. It was all delicious and generously served that I couldn't even finish my food! Luckily the hubs was there to take over for me along with devouring his own bowl of poke goodness. Ok place decent selection, but the fish is clearly not handled properly I've had a lot of raw fish and sashimi before and their fish just consistently seems to be slightly spoiled I didn't get food poisoning or anything but the fish is just not meeting my standard of freshness. It's refreshing to have a new food option in this area, but the sauce is seriously lacking. Great deal for a huge serving of poke. The small is 2 scoops of fish and only $8.99. They have tuna, spicy tuna, albacore, scallops, and octopus. Unlike most restaurants, they do not limit the topping choices you'd like to add to your bowl. It's not like the "you can only add two and be charged extra" type thing. You can literally add every single thing if you wanted to. And All of their toppings are free!!! Toppings include avocado, seaweed, ginger, edamame beans, onions, garlic, sesame seeds just to mention a few. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the bowl was very flavorful. This is by far the top of my poke places to go to in the Poway-RB-Carmel Mountain area. They have the freshest ingredients and the sauces are simple and not overpowering. Poke Point May only be 4 months old since their first launch but they make prime on my list of poke bowl venues to explore and enjoy! I had such a great experience from start to end at this place. This little gem is located in an industrial area of Poway. All of the staff is very friendly. Chester helped us out as it was our first time. He had many suggestions based on flavor profiles and let us try free samples. I'm a big fan of poké and this is an excellent example of the dish done right. I have been to most of the poke bowl places in the county, so imagine my happiness when I found this one opening up close to my house. I have been there twice now, and while it's ok, I have not been very impressed. Each time there were minor issues, whether it be out of tuna (1st trip) or out of rice (2nd trip). Portions are much smaller than other places I have been to as well. The fish was fine, although not as fresh as I'm used to. I'm glad it's here, and I'll keep going back, but if You are new to poke, I don't recommend this spot. read more

The poke is good, but nothing out of this world. I typically come in at night and it is always dead. The staff is precise on each scoop and for a $1 you can get a very small scoop of avocado. I always tip, but come on dude... at least give me the wasabi on the side like I asked, a friendly smile, something to justify that too you are asking for. read more

Ive worked across the street for 6 years and was super excited to see that Hong Kong was replaced with a poke spot. I don't like most of the food places in this area and was excited to have a new place to eat here and there on my lunch break. I've had this poke place twice and a piece of hair was spotted in my avocado the last trip. This is actually pretty gross to admit but I scooped that piece out and attempted to eat the rest of the bowl only to find another piece of hair within the avocado. I'm giving them 3 stars only because the first time I enjoyed the poke bowl and hoping second time was a fluke but I don't know if I can bring myself to order here again. Nobody wants hair in their food, especially not multiple pieces! After the second hair spotting I almost threw up in my mouth and had to throw the bowl away. I'm pretty sure multiple people ended up with hair in their poke bowl that day if they added the avocado. read more

This Poke joint just recently reopened up, I gotta say they got some of the freshest and most natural fish and vegetables.I am one of those people who have to have their vegetables and fish taste 100% fresh or else it ruins the meal, but the freshness level here raised my scale up to whole new heights! The portions are amazing too, most places give these tiny scoops with no effort, but this place piles on the protein! Decided to check this out yesterday after seeing it on my Yelp feed. My kids and I stopped by after shopping at Costco and it was a big hit! I was a little nervous that my kids might not like it since they both tend to stick with California rolls when we have sushi, but they both loved their bowls and my son even got octopus as one of his proteins?!
