I just became a pescetarian and naturally have been scoping out new poke spots. I have tried three thus far: Big Fish Little Fish, Poke Poke, and Poke Parlor - all good, but this one is my favorite. I only ever get two proteins (shrimp and salmon) and for this they are the best priced and also taste the best. This place is definitely one of my favorite poke places to go to! The fish is so fresh and the seaweed salad is amazing. The seaweed salad may cost extra but it's definitely worth it. The sauces there are amazing as well, the unagi was so good I always end up asking for extra, and the habanero sauce was pretty good as well, I couldn't put my finger on it but it's such a familiar taste. One other thing I really liked was that they have the option for mango, pineapples, and corn. I love all three of those since they spruce up the flavor of your bowl by a ton. Not only do they have amazing options for the poke bowls, but they have poke paninis, nachos, and tacos. I actually haven't been there enough to try everything but I did get the chance to try the poke tacos and they were amazing!!! You can't get the same poke tacos anywhere else and the sauce they made it with was so delicious. I also really like how they have forks and spoons that are made of wood, since I'm a very environmental friendly person. Props to this place for trying to help the world be a little more green. Maybe, I had high expectations, but I went here for the first time earlier. When I walked in they looked like they were cleaning up & took a bit to acknowledge me. Once they did start talking to me, they told me they were waiting on the white rice but didn't give a time estimate. They made my bowl, however I don't think they toke much care. The rice was hard (like there wasn't enough water), they put in green onions instead of regular, & there was little to no sauce on the poke mixture. I think it's time to try another place read more

Was in the Berkeley area and was craving some fresh poke. Luckily poke parlor just opened up so I decided to give it a try and, man did it not disappoint. I ordered the tuna tacos and their speciality tuna poke bowl. The tuna tacos were very proportional and full of fresh fish and flavor. Their seared albacore was my favorite fish they had to offer because of the unique texture. It was so good that I might even order a full bowl of just Seared Albacore !! The specialty tuna bowl is a perfectly healthy option to take on the go if you're in a rush to something(lunch, class, etc..). Also, if you're not in a rush and wanted to sit down and enjoy your fish, they have a couple of tables to do so! I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in the Berkeley area!! read more

I eat poke all the time so I had to check this place out when it opened. It was excellent, very tasty. The fish was fresh and loved having zucchini noodles as a base option. Serving size and proportions were generous. My mothers vegetarian tofu bowl was also very tasty. Only downside (but also a good sign?) is that it's always packed. I've tried many poke places but this place particular is different! The reason why is because there are so varieties to choose from. They offer mango bits, seaweed bits, pineapples, & kimchi in your poke bowl. It may sound weird at first, but trust me it's yummy!! I love their sauces as well. I mixed siriracha & habanero together. It really does ties it completely. I tried the shrimp, tako, and yellow tail sooo tender while it melts in your mouth. Try this place!! You won't regret it!!! read more

Probably the best poke place close to campus. You get more fish here than Poke Bar and this place has a lot of veggie choices that you can get mixed into your poke. The wait is never long so it's good if you're in a hurry. The fish has been consistently fresh. If you haven't, try the zucchini noodles. read more

Poke Parlor really is my favorite poke place in Berkeley. I usually go to the university location but decided to go here since parking at the other location is difficult . We came here around 12:30 and it wasn't too bad. The crowd definitely came in after us. You pick your base, protein, veggies, sauce, and toppings. Bonus for this place? Great food, great fish- very rude customer service. Third time now I've gone and dealt with snobby employees. If I'm not mistaken, this establishment is a "make it your way" joint. So, if i ask for extra ginger or a little bit of wasabi- why are employees laughing and acting annoyed. If I wanted cookie cutter food, I would go to McDonald's. Definitely the best poke spot in Berkeley!! The portions are super big and filling. I ordered the regular bowl, which came with 3 proteins. I got imitation crab, tuna, and shrimp, and all the proteins were very fresh. I was helped by Destiny, and she was really welcoming and friendly. This place is fairly new and they have great customer service. staff were super nice and friendly. The music they play here is chill too. I liked the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. There's good selection of music, not too much edm There are a lot of things you can add when you build your own bowl. It's $10.50 for medium and you get 3 proteins and $12.50 for a large which gets you 4 proteins I got a large and it is a lot that you get in the bowl. What I like is that they offer zucchini noodles! They're very refreshing. They offer a lot of different types of fish too and a lot of different toppings. Sometimes my bowl gets so big because they have so many to offer. Seaweed salad is $1 extra and avocado is $1.50 extra but that's ok i think it's worth it read more

Favorite Poke place in Berkeley so far because their price is about the same as other Poke places but their portions are much bigger. They aren't stringy about giving a ton of anything you want, so I hope it stays that way! Several different options and choices too, including mango and pineapple! I discovered Poke Parlor about a year ago and since then I've been dreaming of going back. The other day I was at UC Berkeley and the whole time I was there I couldn't stop thinking about what I'd be having for lunch. Being so close I just had to go back to Poke Parlor, and I'm more than glad I did. When I originally went I remember having the spicy tuna and it was absolutely amazing. This time around I happen to be vegetarian and so my options were suddenly limited. They do offer tofu as a substitute which was really cool. **take into consideration this is bay area poke aka not the greatest ever so standards are already lower lol** Food quality (as in freshness): 9/10 - very important since they're selling raw fish, and compared to the other failed poke places around Berkeley, this is amongst the best Food variety: They have plenty of options for raw fish! they also include tako (which is a nice touch). I usually get a regular size (includes 3 main proteins/raw fish + toppings) As per usual, you can take unlimited "toppings", except one down side is that they don't offer free crunchy seaweed which is my fav.. cri* Service: 8/10 - it's not SUPER fast all the time, they usually have 3-4 people working the station (including cashier), so it goes as fast as it could possibly go for a rather small counter size. I didn't think they were idling because they were just ignoring me (like I've seen in other restaurants) Packaging: 10/10 - I actually really enjoy their stiff paper bowl + plastic cap, it's pretty sturdy and doesn't have a flimsy cap that simply comes off when you hold it at one end (that happened at poke bar which wasn't enjoyable to almost have my cap come off with one had of poke and the other hand with boba lol) Inside seating: I like that they have spots to sit that feel comfortable, with the tables a decent size and nice aesthetic surroundings. :) annnddd last but not least, just to be pc lololol but poke is not japanese js. read more

I've tried at least 2 other places around campus, and it's one of the tops. Fresh fish and largest protein scoops. they have mango and pineapple as veggie options. I ordered a poke bowl at 11 am on a Sunday (01/13/19) and it was full of old ingredients. I've been here many times and loved it in the past, but after today, I won't be returning. The (raw) fish tasted off, and the rice was definitely stale. It tasted so fishy and odd that I couldn't finish more than half of it (never happened before). It's been 30 minutes since then, and I'm already beginning to feel ill. What's worse is I paid $20 in total to have it delivered, since I am on a tight schedule today.
