This was probably the best poke I've had in NorCal. Not only was the food good, the service was very friendly, and the prices are much more affordable. Felt bad that I got there right before they closed, but the staff was still very accommodating and had really positive personalities. So this place is really good! I did eat a few pieces of fish which tasted frozen, but it wasn't enough to ruin the whole meal. Awesome service and given COVID times, they've taken to take out style and are very sanitary. The owner helped us and was super sweet and accommodating--recommending popular items and being very cordial. We asked for cilantro on the side, and he put it in a separate container for us :) very helpful and portions are hefty! read more

Update. The past couple times I've come here the fish has looked old and grey. It used to look super fresh so I'm not sure what happened. They started doing all sort of new items but I wish they would stick to the basics and keep the quality instead. The stomachache afterwards wasn't worth it and I'm not sure I'll be back. For one of the only poke restaurants in the north state, it's not bad. It satisfies my poke fix, and the quality is quite surprising to find in Redding, which isn't really big on seafood options. Thus, it's not so much up to par with anything in Sac/Bay Area, but it's as good as it gets in this town. It's also very filling and portions are typically pretty large which is great for the price!! (For reference, this was a large bowl with 5 scoops that cost $14.90 after tax, which is WAY less than what a small/regular sized poke bowl would cost in sac/sf). The fish itself is not bad either, but sometimes can be a hit or miss. Poke/sushi is also my favorite food too though which is why I'm a bit more critical lol. But regardless, i think this place is definitely worth trying and a good bang for your buck! It's a top go-to spot for me while I'm in redding. Also, the only thing I'd say that is better about this place than most is that they have mangoes and corn as a topping and I wish other places used it too!! I'm obsessed. Fish is fresh, workers are nice and helpful. And it's quick! Basically a sushi roll just in a bowl. SO GOOD. And the best part?? The price! A large (without the extras like yellowtail) is actually cheaper than any rainbow roll I've gotten (which is my go to roll at sushi places) and I get way more food! Pokeland has a great selection of fresh ingredients and many vegetarian options. I have to give this place only four stars though, and I hope the owner is reading, because they use single-use plastics for all dine-in guests. They use styrofoam for water cups. The majority of people I've heard order while I've been sitting here use the styrofoam. I did the math based on the average number of customers who have orders since I've been here, and over 100,000 non-recyclable bowls are thrown away each year. That is a conservative estimate. When Pokeland first opened, they were phenomenal - food and staff. However, it seems like after the year mark, they drastically declined. The food: the portions went from being decent sized to minimal - sometimes the whole order filling barely half of the bowl. The fish is hit or miss: it's either great quality or it looks and tastes old. The staff: let me start by saying that the staff are always very friendly (which is why this is being given two stars)! But there's a huge turnover rate from what I can tell. There are multiple people working, but there's usually only one person actually at the counter taking orders - even if there's a line building up. We tend to do phone orders for pickup because we get Pokeland during the work day and are on a short time crunch. The last few times we have ordered, there is some sort of issue either with it being ready on time or the order being messed up. Today: they added an item to one bowl that was not ordered for that bowl; on the other bowl, they didn't add (but noted on the post-it) an item that was ordered and paid for the extra scoop and added an extra sauce that wasn't ordered. When the food is good, it's great! Which is why this has been irritating. If we decide to order again, we'll be checking our orders from now on before leaving - but if it's messed up there, it'll be difficult because of the time we have. We would really like to see them get back to the quality they were when they first opened because it's nice to have a place like this here! read more

My wife and I have been SOOOOO excited for this place to open! It was worth the wait, the quality of food is great, selection of fish is very good and quite fresh. Getting a meal with sushi for under $12 that actually fills you up is not possible in Redding for under $20 (for me at least). Service is excellent. My buddy dropped his sunglasses in the garbage on accident and the manager/owner came in out of NOWHERE and digs through the trash and cleans them by hand in the back for us. I really like the concept. It reminds me of when I was in Hawaii. Custom made bowls with all your favorite toppings. I'm not sure if I understand what the extra part is in their name. There was plenty of help I ordered all my favorite items such as the tuna and the shrimp and I am excited about trying other items as well.
