Perfect snow

Edamame was overcooked and dry falling apart. Roll I've always loved not even close to original :((('( so much overcooked rice and rolls loose & too big. Unfortunately, I won't be back. Service from main waitress annoyed & barely a smile ... as usual. @ least the sushi used to be good ! Broken, ripped seats no great ambiance

Idk what went down with this order, if the chef was in a mood, but the lack of care is wild. Not to mention seeing tobiko bits on my roll (after mentioning I have a shell fish allergy, so usually that requires more intentional prep and serving) and not sure that really was taken into consideration? Update: Tried it and there were fish bones in my roles lol Trashed it cause didn't want to take the chance of getting sick

Teriyaki chicken sushi!

We arrived shortly after 4pm today thinking we would have plenty of time to get to a 5:30pm game at Simpson University. When we arrived we were the only table seated in the other room. After ordering 10 minutes later the waitress tells us that you're out of Sesame Chicken and sold the last one an hour. The waitress didn't know that when we placed our order? How do you run out of Sesame chicken? I ordered chicken teriyaki sushi on the regular menu and they looked like appetizers, barely had any rice. They were sooo tiny! When we were leaving we noticed other sushi's were of "normal" size not where you could put the entire sushi in your mouth! Very disappointing as our friends had high recommendations!

Special roll the Zig zag.

Service was friendly and welcoming. The food is mediocre, but still good. The ambiance was alright, but there were some loud customers. Overall okay place.

Healthy roll

TOBY! I told him my dietary needs and he was QUICK to point out the healthy roll to me. Nothing fried no dairy and has the veggies I like! Delicious and HUGE all I needed! My mom enjoyed herself too Thank you Toby! Ps. It's always been cute inside with low lighting that doesn't hurt your eyes or feel like it's always buzzing. Go in before 6, or it gets busy, even on a Thursday!

Grand Buffet

I just dropped my work rental SUV back at the rental place and a friend of mine was gonna give me a…read moreride back to my car. To pay him back I asked him where he wanted to go for lunch, he said that Chinese buffet. OK, I know what place he's talkin about, the Grand Buffet, On Hilltop Drive just off the 5 off of East Cypress exit. East to find and lots of parking. Looks like it's been over 2 years since I was here. The price for lunch now is $17 bucks plus tax and some tip. We get there and the place looks about the same as the last time I was here. They have these big Koi fish that seem to be an attraction near the front. We get seated and drink orders taken. We got here close to opening at 11 am. so all the food was nice and fresh and hot. Don't get here half hour before closing and expect there to be all hot fresh food, it ain't gonna happen. Some of the things I love here are those ribs! Yeah, Chinese can make so damn good ribs! Not Texas style though. Chicken wings are another of my fave here. My friend went wild and ate a ton of food, all kinds of noodles, ribs and wings. I pretty much skipped the carbs and filled up with shrimp, wings and ribs. They even have french fries if you want! Service is the usual just clear the plates and fill the drinks with minimal conversation. I gotta remember this place is here!

An Absolute Gem!…read more This Buffet Shattered All My Expectations! Let me be perfectly honest: I walked into this place armed with a healthy dose of skepticism. Having browsed some of the less-than-stellar reviews, my expectations were cautiously low. But from the moment I stepped up to the first steaming tray, it was immediately clear that this wasn't your average, run-of-the-mill buffet. By the way, it was lunch and was 11:30 AM. Any preconceived notions I had were completely obliterated by the sheer quality and care evident in every single dish. The first thing you notice is the freshness--every ingredient tasted vibrant and recently prepared, with nothing sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The food wasn't just warm; it was gloriously, satisfyingly hot. The highlights? There were almost too many to count. · The Chicken Wings: Forget any soggy, buffet-wing trauma you may have. These were a masterclass in texture--impossibly crispy on the outside, while remaining supremely juicy and tender within. · The Baked Salmon: This was a showstopper. Each flaky, moist fillet was infused with a rich, buttery essence and a deep umami flavor that melted on the tongue. It was a dish worthy of a dedicated seafood restaurant. · The Fried Egg Rolls: A perfect crunch gave way to a savory, well-seasoned filling. No greasy aftertaste, just pure, crispy delight. · The Egg Drop Soup: So often an afterthought, here it was a star. A beautifully balanced broth that was both comforting and sophisticated. · The Sautéed Mushrooms: Absolutely divine. They were garlicky, savory, and cooked to a tender perfection that had me going back for a second (and third!) helping. In a world where buffets can be a gamble, this establishment is a sure bet. They have clearly made a commitment to quality, flavor, and freshness that is frankly exceptional. Do not let the mixed reviews deter you. My experience was nothing short of phenomenal, and I will undoubtedly be returning soon. This place isn't just a hit; it's a destination. The real test will be when I return to see if consistency holds true. Update: I went back a few days later because I was hungry and I was curious. Again, it did not disappoint. Food was just as good as it was a few days earlier my review stays the same. Great job grand buffet!
