Poke King is my solution for when I want sushi but don't have anyone willing to go get sushi with me. Husband and kids aren't feeling it? Poke King. Need to grab dinner before D&D? Poke King. It has become a very reliable option. I've been to a few of their locations over the years and they've all been pretty consistent, although this is definitely the one I go to most often. The portions are great. A large easily gets me two meals, usually dinner and then lunch the next day. I always do at least half rice and half mixed greens because I enjoy the salad part. Sometimes I'll skip the rice completely or do about 3/4 greens and 1/4 rice. I honestly think a full bowl of rice would overwhelm everything else. My go-to is salmon, spicy tuna, spicy mayo, and unagi sauce. Plus all the toppings. Delicious. I've ordered it enough times that I should probably branch out, but apparently personal growth has limits. The place is always clean and everything is quick and easy. A lot of the employees seem pretty young, great first job, but they consistently have it handled. I also appreciate that even when there are a bunch of DoorDash orders coming through, they seem to prioritize the actual people standing in line instead of making you wait behind a mountain of online tickets. I went for lunch with coworkers once and our whole chatty group was in and out within about 45 minutes. There isn't a ton of indoor seating, but there was enough for us, the AC was glorious, and it worked perfectly for a quick lunch. Good portions, fresh ingredients, easy ordering, and consistently good. Basically my designated "fine, I'll get sushi by myself" place. read more

My new favorite Sparks spot! Absolutely delicious poke bowls complete with everything you can imagine. For less than $20 I got three meals of delicious sushi packed with meats, veggies, crunchies, and sauces. The two girls who helped were absolutely the sweetest with all of my husbands questions and taste-testing requests. I cannot believe they have been open this long without me stopping in! Since we moved right down the street I expect to become a regular. read more

We were in the area for baseball on a hot hot holiday. Grateful they were open. They were not busy with in person customers but it seems to be a popular take out spot. My son got a reg sized poké bowl ... very generous with toppings and a great variety of proteins. I was eating light, just a spam musubi for me. Very tasty !! Cute place and friendly staff !! read more

Poke King never disappoints! The house sauce is chef's kiss and the spicy salmon is always delicious. My go-to bowl is the octopus, shrimp, and spicy salmon with mixed greend -- such a perfect combo every time. The only small "ick" is the inconsistency with scoops. Some employees are super generous, while others are a bit stingy, which can make the base (mixed greens) feel overpowering. A regular bowl runs around $18, which is definitely pricey for what's basically a "salad," but pretty average for poke. I come here regularly and it always hits the spot. Definitely a favorite! read more

The food was absolutely top quality and is super flavorful for poke/sushi lovers. Particularly the tuna and salmon with unagi sauce. The servers were extremely polite and friendly. The interior is clean, simple and fun although severely lacks dine in seating but that's not a huge issue. read more

I've been by this place hundreds of times, and finally decided to try it. But did it through grub dash or whatever of those food delivery services. I was really excited to actually try it. I'm hoping and in person experience will be better, but I'll tell you right now I'm not going to find out. I'm not a cheapskate, I'll drop $1,000 at a Michelin star restaurant or upscale steakhouse, no problem. I've even dropped over $300 at a Texas Roadhouse (just on MYSELF) a few times, so don't sit here with that mindset. But for these tiny little boxes, with a couple tablespoons of meat in each one for $21.95!? Yeahhh, no. HELL NO. $14 95, MAYBE $15.95, but for the amount of food and the quality you get, it's totally not warranted. For 22 bucks, I expect to at least my stomach to be satisfied, I had to go hit the fridge after I ate this crap because I was still hungry. In the notes, as you can see with my pictures, I pleaded for extra soy sauce. So what do they do for two orders? Two packs of soy sauce and two packs of sriracha. That's an indicator from the business, that they know they're not serving the amount of food they should for the price. I ordered one of their poke bowls with tuna, salmon and octopus. Well they were sure nice enough to leave me a little Post-It note telling me they were out of octopus, and instead of calling me to ask me what my alternative would be, they choose to give me an extra scoop of the most cost-effective imitation crab mayonnaise crap that they could. Obviously to try to Penny pinch on an already ridiculously small portion size. I'm guessing a majority of Yelpers on here aren't foodies, but as mind-blowing to see how everybody raves about this place. I can't even give it three stars!. Sorry poke King, you guys are not royalty at all. You should change your name to poke jester's because you're clowning on all the people that continue to eat here. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. first time here plenty of parking its in the old town style looking plaza next to starbucks the seafood was fresh ordered the regular: shrimp, scallop, salmon the shrimp was a tad bit more generous in terms of protein serving and was good the scallop was short in terms of serving size, but the scallop were good salmon was probably the least amount of protein served and were tiny small cuts, wish they were bigger cuts had a tad bit of their house sauce, with terriyaki, and yuzu, which was a sweet creamy base sauce, delicious imitation crab was good, only two scoops moreover, fulfilling and good with the setup above read more

The dining area is small but stylish. There are only a few tables inside and one outside. The dishes are to-go, whether you're eating in or taking your bowl to go. Service was friendly and they were helpful when it came to explaining vegan options. My SO is not vegan so he ordered a hamachi, spicy salmon and crab salad. He said it was delicious. Mine was delicious too and it felt like I was eating something fresh and healthy. read more

I love poke. So many choices! From the start, walking in I was a little put off by the smell in the establishment though. I get it, there's fish. But good fresh fish doesn't smell. I think maybe a good cleaning is in order. Scent, or smell, is a big thing to me. We went ahead and had a large with 5 scoops of protein and a regular with 3 scoops. So many other ingredients the regular was plenty large enough. Be prepared to spend over $20 for just a regular and this was without a drink. Tried the won ton chips and I wouldn't recommend them at all. Tough. I've been to other Poke Kings and this one I'd say It's not the number 1, but be sure to hit the other locations! read more

Overall, it was a delightful experience. The variety of fresh ingredients they offer is impressive, allowing you to customize your poke bowl to your liking. The fish was fresh, and the portions were generous. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual, nothing to write home about but lots of themed paintings and such. The staff was friendly and helpful in guiding me through the menu options. I appreciated the quick service, perfect for a lunch break. Yum! Nice, fresh ingredients, lots of choices and friendly service. Also, good portions.

Passing by this place many times after grabbing coffee at Starbucks. I love Poke and it was time to try Poke King. A small space , formerly an ice cream shop. Inside 3 tables, but I was here for take-out. I ordered a regular bowl with spicy tuna, shrimp and tofu. Brown rice my choice and two spicy sauces spicy mayo and Wasabi Yuzu. I had it topped with jalapeno, ginger, fried shallots and garlic , shredded sea weed and furikake. Yum, it was looking mighty delicious and I was hungry. I took off to my destination and stopped along side the Sparks Marina. I began devouring it. It was perfect, tasty and healthy. A great thing to take on the go.. the staff was very nice and I'm happy that they are locally owned. I will return happily. read more

Here I am again, at my favorite Poke Bowl place. Poke King 2 in Sparks at McCarran & Pyramid. I love the healthy and beautiful food. Their Poke Bowls and selection of proteins and choices for the poke bowl are the best. The restaurant is clean. I am obsessed with this place. It always tastes fresh. The unagi sauce is my favorite. We usually get this to go. I like to get it with salmon and crab as my protein and I add avocado. The service is a bit slow in store, but it still is typically less than ten minutes. To really add some taste you can do green onions on top. read more

You can never go wrong with poke, especially when you order it from Poke King! This is my go-to location and I've never had a bad experience. It's easy to access, there's plenty of seating for a quick sit down meal, and the staff are always pleasant. I usually order to-go, and it's always been ready on time and made correctly. The regular bowl is always a perfect amount and I feel they are generous on their portion size and the price is more than fair. There are so many options to choose from when creating your own bowl. I always get the tuna for my bowl and it's never disappointed - always fresh and delicious. Their crab is a perfect addition to any bowl. The avocado can be hit or miss in terms of freshness. read more

Poke King is a "clutch" spot for me. I have been coming here quite a few times and every time it is just as fantastic as the previous visit. Unfortunately my orders have always be "to-go-order" but I appreciate the consistency in the freshness of their food, the kindness in their customer service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. I always go for their shrimp, tuna, sometimes throw a little bit of scallops every now and then, but also some cucumber, seaweed strips, unagi and spicy mayo for the sauces and it's perfections for me!! Very delicious and it always hits spot. Especially if you have some seaweed wraps on the side to put your poke on top of, YUM!!! I love Poke King!! Thank you!! read more

I love Poke King, the concept is simple: choose your fish, your base and your add-ons This was my first visit to this location and it may become a regular spot. Hooray for the new Poke King locations! There are now four! As a south Renonian, I'd only been to the original Poke King once. I really enjoyed my bowl there, so when I knew I'd be nearby this one I made a point to stop in. I'd remembered my regular bowl with three proteins feeling like just enough food to fill a healthy appetite, so this time around I went for the large with 5 scoops. The large is sizeable, good for one big appetite or two smaller appetites, if you're into sharing. They've got a nice array of sauces. I went with the house sauce. It's a mix of three different sauces including spicy mayo, so it's pretty heavy/thick. That didn't register with me until it was added to the proteins, massago, green I Jon and white onion, and I definitely prefer a lighter dressing on my poke. Next time is go for one of the shoyu sauces. Just like the other locations there's bright blues and aquatic accents throughout, but it lacks the flair of the OG spot. The four stars are for the strong seafood smell walking in the door. I didn't notice after sitting there for a few minutes but it was potent upon entry. Still a solid bowl! read more

Need to add an update because the last 5-6 times I've gone here, they are consistently not paying attention to the options selected for to go orders. They have not gotten my order right in so long from the choices of base, sauce, and toppings. I continue to go to this location because it's 5 mins away from my house. The other locations are much farther away. I really wish they would pay close attention to what's actually on the order and what they're putting into the bowl. Also, if you order any extras, sides, or desserts, it's also a hit or miss if it will actually be included in your order. I still love the food and the quality, but I would suggest going in and taking the time to order there and see them actually make your bowl. read more

I usually get poke king delivered, and everytime it's always perfect. The fish always tastes fresh and it tastes like you just got it every time. I also love the ratio! As a Vegas local with many poke bowls all around the city, coming to Reno for the very first time and trying this poke place has exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be coming back here for another bowl of poke before I fly out back home to Vegas. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the Sparks area!! read more

We love NW Reno Poke King, so we were happy to see one open nearby! Honestly, I think poke places are getting as contagious as AYCE sushi/check cashing/tattoo parlors/smoke shops in Reno/Sparks...but hey, what's another? 4 locations seems a little bit like the Mark Estee's of fish places, but again, what's another location? The trouble with another poke place is that this one just isn't as good as the first few! Too many too fast seems like they've spread themselves a little too thin. It's been a few times now that we've had really "fishy" fish in our bowls, and twice that I've had flat-out rotten greens in mine. What's worse is that Hubby and I both got the bubble guts after our last visit! My instinct said the fish was "fishy"...and we were right. Also, 1of the 2 employees working on our last visit 8/18 asked the other if she could make herself a bowl...then proceeded to heap fish and pour the most spicy mayo I've ever seen on it! Im sure like most restaurants, they have an "employee meal policy", was just a little gross to watch her make soup out of sauce. Maybe wait until the customers have left the dini9ng room? Sadly, we're kind of ruined on this location after a few bad bowls. I hope the rest of the locations are faring better. read more
