Tuna, salmon and shrimp with unagi sauce, cucumber, crab salad and pineapple on white rice
    Alexander G.

The food was absolutely top quality and is super flavorful for poke/sushi lovers. Particularly the tuna and salmon with unagi sauce. The servers were extremely polite and friendly. The interior is clean, simple and fun although severely lacks dine in seating but that's not a huge issue.

    52 bucks, for this?

I've been by this place hundreds of times, and finally decided to try it. But did it through grub dash or whatever of those food delivery services. I was really excited to actually try it. I'm hoping and in person experience will be better, but I'll tell you right now I'm not going to find out. I'm not a cheapskate, I'll drop $1,000 at a Michelin star restaurant or upscale steakhouse, no problem. I've even dropped over $300 at a Texas Roadhouse (just on MYSELF) a few times, so don't sit here with that mindset. But for these tiny little boxes, with a couple tablespoons of meat in each one for $21.95!? Yeahhh, no. HELL NO. $14 95, MAYBE $15.95, but for the amount of food and the quality you get, it's totally not warranted. For 22 bucks, I expect to at least my stomach to be satisfied, I had to go hit the fridge after I ate this crap because I was still hungry. In the notes, as you can see with my pictures, I pleaded for extra soy sauce. So what do they do for two orders? Two packs of soy sauce and two packs of sriracha. That's an indicator from the business, that they know they're not serving the amount of food they should for the price. I ordered one of their poke bowls with tuna, salmon and octopus. Well they were sure nice enough to leave me a little Post-It note telling me they were out of octopus, and instead of calling me to ask me what my alternative would be, they choose to give me an extra scoop of the most cost-effective imitation crab mayonnaise crap that they could. Obviously to try to Penny pinch on an already ridiculously small portion size. I'm guessing a majority of Yelpers on here aren't foodies, but as mind-blowing to see how everybody raves about this place. I can't even give it three stars!. Sorry poke King, you guys are not royalty at all. You should change your name to poke jester's because you're clowning on all the people that continue to eat here. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. first time here plenty of parking its in the old town style looking plaza next to starbucks the seafood was fresh ordered the regular: shrimp, scallop, salmon the shrimp was a tad bit more generous in terms of protein serving and was good the scallop was short in terms of serving size, but the scallop were good salmon was probably the least amount of protein served and were tiny small cuts, wish they were bigger cuts had a tad bit of their house sauce, with terriyaki, and yuzu, which was a sweet creamy base sauce, delicious imitation crab was good, only two scoops moreover, fulfilling and good with the setup above

Their fish is always fresh and their staff is always knowledgeable, friendly and fast. There is always someone in the restaurant but it is never too packed. They have a simple and straightforward menu and yet still plenty of options.

The dining area is small but stylish. There are only a few tables inside and one outside. The dishes are to-go, whether you're eating in or taking your bowl to go. Service was friendly and they were helpful when it came to explaining vegan options. My SO is not vegan so he ordered a hamachi, spicy salmon and crab salad. He said it was delicious. Mine was delicious too and it felt like I was eating something fresh and healthy.

Great customer service. Very time I've stepped foot into this place, I've always been greeted. They are very patient. The food itself if great and not even expensive at all. It's a great location, perfect if you love Starbucks

I love poke and I love this place. The service is always fast and friendly and their fishes are always fresh. The place is pretty small but there are tables.

I love poke. So many choices! From the start, walking in I was a little put off by the smell in the establishment though. I get it, there's fish. But good fresh fish doesn't smell. I think maybe a good cleaning is in order. Scent, or smell, is a big thing to me. We went ahead and had a large with 5 scoops of protein and a regular with 3 scoops. So many other ingredients the regular was plenty large enough. Be prepared to spend over $20 for just a regular and this was without a drink. Tried the won ton chips and I wouldn't recommend them at all. Tough. I've been to other Poke Kings and this one I'd say It's not the number 1, but be sure to hit the other locations!

Overall, it was a delightful experience. The variety of fresh ingredients they offer is impressive, allowing you to customize your poke bowl to your liking. The fish was fresh, and the portions were generous. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual, nothing to write home about but lots of themed paintings and such. The staff was friendly and helpful in guiding me through the menu options. I appreciated the quick service, perfect for a lunch break. If you're a poke enthusiast looking for a solid spot with a good variety of fresh ingredients, Poke King is worth a try.

Passing by this place many times after grabbing coffee at Starbucks. I love Poke and it was time to try Poke King. A small space , formerly an ice cream shop. Inside 3 tables, but I was here for take-out. I ordered a regular bowl with spicy tuna, shrimp and tofu. Brown rice my choice and two spicy sauces spicy mayo and Wasabi Yuzu. I had it topped with jalapeno, ginger, fried shallots and garlic , shredded sea weed and furikake. Yum, it was looking mighty delicious and I was hungry. I took off to my destination and stopped along side the Sparks Marina. I began devouring it. It was perfect, tasty and healthy. A great thing to take on the go.. the staff was very nice and I'm happy that they are locally owned. I will return happily.

I am obsessed with this place. It always tastes fresh. The unagi sauce is my favorite. We usually get this to go. I like to get it with salmon and crab as my protein and I add avocado. The service is a bit slow in store, but it still is typically less than ten minutes. To really add some taste you can do green onions on top.

Here I am again, at my favorite Poke Bowl place. Poke King 2 in Sparks at McCarran & Pyramid. I love the healthy and beautiful food. Their Poke Bowls and selection of proteins and choices for the poke bowl are the best. The restaurant is clean. One wall has beautiful painted graphics on it and the food.....really really really great! Thank you to Sheridan for excellent customer service and a Five Star Poke bowl. See you again. Julie A

You can never go wrong with poke, especially when you order it from Poke King! This is my go-to location and I've never had a bad experience. It's easy to access, there's plenty of seating for a quick sit down meal, and the staff are always pleasant. I usually order to-go, and it's always been ready on time and made correctly. The regular bowl is always a perfect amount and I feel they are generous on their portion size and the price is more than fair. There are so many options to choose from when creating your own bowl. I always get the tuna for my bowl and it's never disappointed - always fresh and delicious. Their crab is a perfect addition to any bowl. The avocado can be hit or miss in terms of freshness.

Service has been hit or miss depending on how busy it is. Sometimes it feels attentive and smooth, other times it can be a little slow, but overall it gets the job done. Ambiance has stayed pretty much the same since opening. It is a casual sushi spot with a steady flow of customers. Nothing overly modern or upscale, but comfortable enough for a relaxed meal. Overall, it is a reliable place that has been around for a while. Not extraordinary, but steady enough to keep coming back now and then.

I live not close by so when I got home and dished up a plate, the tempura shrimp was hard and not cleaned (still had the poop vein), the dressing from the salad soaked the gyoza making it not edible, the sushi was missing the toppings on the Godzilla roll, King Kong roll and the crystal shrimp deluxe. Fast forward to bedtime and I had the worst stomach ache. Let's just say I won't be ordering Togo anytime soon from here.

It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.
