Service was terrible today the lady working the counter was barely putting anything in the bowl. This place is usually on point hopefully it's a one time thing.

I came here for Monday lunch. Upon arrival, there were no customers there. I was greeted by a kind employee there and ordered a make your own sushi bowl. The selections had plenty to choose from, and I notice there were few selections which are Korean sides; like kimchi and pickled radish. Despite the Korean twist in a Hawaiian poke bowl cuisine, I absolutely enjoyed it and definitely comparable to other chain poke places around here as I do believe they have a larger selection here. I ordered a matcha milk tea with boba to go along with the meal. The drink was excellent as well! The place looked new still, like it was just opened a month ago. I will definitely be back when I am having poke bowl cravings!

I had zero clue this place existed, mainly because when I am home, I make food at home and on weekends I am at my home in Montrose; so I never really venture out in the CL and LC anymore other than for work. It was Sunday, I just got home and I was hungry but the husband was not. So, I wanted something tasty and fresh, but not a salad. I found this place on Uber Eats, and I am not disappointed at all! I ordered the CYOB with the romaine and spring mix (I know, I just said I did not want a salad in the paragraph above), spicy salmon & cooked shrimp, and a bunch of mix ins with the pickled ginger, seaweed salad, green onion and volcano crisps. I gave this info not only to you but also so I can remember what I got for the future. :) OMG, this was literally one of the best poke bowls I have ever had. Spicy, tasty and not overly filling. I am looking forward to eating here again, and I will, at some point!

The store is located in the middle of a bunch of super big stores like staples so super easy to hang around once eating the food and portion is pretty decent and the flavor is good unless told them east on the sauce it's a little salty The staff are nice and with patience the store is organized and pretty clean the service is good

This place is great! The spicy tuna and salmon tasted fresh and flavorful, along with every mix-in, topping, and sauce. The restaurant is very spacious and quiet. I would recommend Poke Chef to any sushi lover out there! 5/5 stars.

We are poke obsessed and once we saw there was a new poke place open in Clear Lake we headed there to try it. This is the third location of Poke Chef (the others are in the Woodlands and Humble). What stood out, was the variety and amount of toppings they add to their bowls. They have toppings such as kimchi and cream cheese (without an up charge). They also have many non-traditional protein options like shrimp tempura, steak, and BBQ eel. They are generous with their portions and we left feeling full and happy. We will be back!

I've only ordered take out from here and it's never failed me! The rep river bowl was so filling and I could cut back on the crispy noodles. I tried the sushi burrito the first time I was there and the filling was busting at the seams and it was enough for 2 meals.

I also got truffle shoyu sauce to go in the mix-ins and in the rice and topped it all off with ginger, wasabi, masago, etc. The service was great as my bowl was made fast once I was at the front of the line, and they were getting through the long line of people fast. There are very few places I know that have hamachi as a protein option, so I was super excited to see it here! They are generous with their portions and you get unlimited toppings (as you can see with my bowl). The only topping I wouldn't get is the avocado (which is an additional $2, and I didn't see the sign that said it was extra). The avocado was peculiar.... it tasted normal until the after taste was a bit fizzy.... indicating the avocado had either been left out for too long and fermented - it definitely went bad and they were still serving it. The avocado wasn't brown but seemed like there was an additive they added to keep it from visually spoiling. It kind of ruined the experience of the bowl, but I just separated it from the rest of my bowl.

During that time, other customers walked in and were greeted almost immediately. Other tables were being attended to and orders were being taken, and the restaurant did not appear to be understaffed or overwhelmed. What made the experience especially uncomfortable was that my wife and I were the only Hispanic customers in the restaurant at the time. Seeing other customers receive noticeably different treatment made us question whether our ethnicity had anything to do with why we were being ignored. I cannot say for certain that this was the reason, but that was genuinely how the situation made us feel. We ultimately decided to leave because we should not have to sit there wondering whether we are being treated differently because of who we are. Everyone who walks into a restaurant should be welcomed and treated with the same level of respect and attention. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into how customers are being treated, because this was not the experience we expected.

Not at all mad about the gigantic, juicy, crunchy pieces of karaage or the reheated and dressed takoyaki (yes, wisdom teaches you things, and there's no way a restaurant can reproduce takoyaki [from scratch] that perfectly when they cant even maintain quality on their staple), but as happy as I am with the chicken, I will make the suggestion to bring back the spicy mayo and to keep the lemons on the plate. Although my partner didn't show it and said it was fine, it was obvious she was disappointed that she didn't receive a Demon Slayer soup spoon from ordering the monthly special since they were out of stock (waiter says there is no guarantee the spoons will restock). The promotion is set to end sometime in February, but I might take another long break from Jinya, again. I got the tried and true Jinya tonkotsu black, which was served with chewy (yes, chewy) pieces of pork chashu. I also noticed the wife only ate her toppings from her chicken yatai ramen and offered to trade her since I was mostly happy with mine. Wow, the monthly special, chicken yatai was super bland. I voiced my complaints about the yatai that was barely eaten and that the chashu was not rendered enough. He said he would let the manager know, who offered a complimentary ice cream mochi (ok, these werent bad). Ambiance: casual, loud with my type of music (pops, edm). The hard truth: not a place I could recommend to friends at this moment. Glad the owner is doing so well in this area and would highly recommend sister restaurants, but there's a glaring need for quality control here and maybe a bit more accountability is needed. Looks like I have some old pictures still uploaded, so I'll just go ahead and leave them in the post, but just take my word that the tonkotsu black still looks the same and the chicken and takoyaki are indeed as pretty as they are scrumptious.

We were initially told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to an hour. Once we were finally seated, ordering through the iPad was simple and convenient. The sashimi and hibachi dishes arrived quickly, while the specialty rolls and fried items took considerably longer because of how busy the restaurant was. To get the most value out of an all-you-can-eat experience, I usually focus on ordering sashimi. My favorites were the salmon, yellowtail, and eel, all of which were fresh and enjoyable. The spicy scallop sushi was the standout of the entire meal and easily my favorite bite of the night. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and that was the one I kept going back to. The steak hibachi was solid, with well-seasoned meat and generous portions. The fried oysters and crab rangoons were both crispy and cooked well without feeling overly greasy. The specialty rolls were good too. While none of them particularly stood out, they were all enjoyable and well made. Overall, there was not a single dish that I disliked. Even with the much longer-than-expected wait, the quality and variety of the food made for a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience. If you plan on visiting during peak dinner hours, I would recommend expecting a wait, but once you're seated, there are plenty of options to make the meal worthwhile.
