My new go to sushi place when in Galvaston, wow!!!!! We was travelling in for a weekend getaway and wanted to grab something to eat before going to the hotel I of course pulled up my trusty yelp and a quick search recommended sushi bori, we was easily able to order online and by the time we got there our food was ready within minutes. I think the only words that came out of my mouth while sat in the car eating was "wow" and "yummy", we ordered 3 different sushi rolls and every single one was amazing. I highly recommend sushi bori and we will 100% be back, the only thing i dont like is that they arent in San Antonio. read more

Everything was delicious, even down to the side of sushi rice and the seaweed salad. My favorite and the most memorable roll was the salmon skin roll. I feel like the fish in the hand rolls could be cut smaller so its not as overwhelming. read more

Incredible food and service. Had the crunchy philly (deep fried), volcano roll (deep fried), and Nigiri Salmon/Tuni. Housed everything - the rolls were fire and nigiri tasted clean! read more

I can't believe I'm leaving a 5 star review for a sushi food truck. But, I've ordered from here dozens of times and even had it delivered. I would put them against any 5 star sushi brick and mortar any day of the week. The service is not to be outdone. Their expertise is crazy high. This guy was actually classically trained by a Japanese chef. (I googled the chef) The ambiance is great for a food truck. The trailer is super nice and you can see how clean it is in the kitchen through the big serving window. Highly recommend. read more

Better than a lot of sit down restaurant sushi. Always tiptop fresh fish, reasonably priced and no futzing with a disinterested server. Ruben is a fine man and a great chef. read more

The sushi was fantastic and I had to kinds of sushi that I had never had anywhere else and they were both fantastic! I had a citrus salmon roll and a Sushi Bori roll. Both were simply amazingly delicious! It is a food truck but you can take it anywhere and no one would be able to tell that it wasn't from a high end sushi restaurant! I will definitely go again. The owner was nice and didn't mind conversing, just an overall great experience! read more

You won't believe this sushi came from a food truck/trailer!! I ordered on Doordash and was so glad I decided to give this place a try. I ordered a sushi combo (4 pieces nigiri and choice of classic roll) and the Akita roll. For the sushi combo, you can select each of the 4 nigiri. I got the spicy yellowtail for the classic roll and loved it. So simple, but the best spicy yellowtail classic roll I've ever had. Everything was fresh, the fish and the rice were the perfect texture AND temperature, and the rice was seasoned just right. Also, I love how they thinly slice the cucumbers to put in the rolls instead of just a wedge of cucumber. It's truly the details that make this sushi so good. The Akita roll was good, but I think I would have preferred it with seaweed instead of soy paper. 10/10 recommend the sushi combo and the spicy yellowtail roll. Can't wait to order it again. read more

Why 5 stars? Because this parking lot has never experienced this level of quality. --- --- --- I grew up in the area and have seen dozens of very forgettable businesses call this parking lot home. With the exception of the Tropical Sno truck that was parked near this exact spot for many years, the strip mall has been a the definition of meh. Oh my God, that's Sushi Bori's music! To tell you the truth, I was going to be playing softball later that evening, so I didn't want to over-eat or order anything heavy. Under any other circumstance, I would have ordered one of the deep fried rolls, but that will have to wait until next time. For visit #1, I went with the Ruben Roll and Orgamilicious. To be honest, I didn't love the Ruben Roll, but the Orgamilicious was perfect - everything you'd want in a sushi roll. So one 3-star roll and one 5-star roll, but I'm rounding up on my overall rating because: 1) The aforementioned limitations while ordering prevented me from getting my top choices. 2) Great, friendly service. 3) Making 528 cool... (I'd say again, but I don't know that it ever was.) read more

A few of my coworkers recommended this place and I got the shaggy dog. It's a good basis to know whether a food truck can have fresh sushi but to my surprise, you wouldn't have been able to tell. The rice to meat/seafood ratio was on point, and they did not overwhelm with the sauces. I would come back for a quick and fresh meal again. read more

The sushi here is always fresh and delicious! The quality is top-notch, and the flavors are spot on. Highly recommend for any sushi lover!

Great and quick service! Really fresh sushi. The chicken egg rolls were super awesome for the price!

Delicious sushi! You'd never know it came out of a food truck. It was better than what I've had at some restaurants! I waited 24 hours to write my review, and it even sounds good for dinner tonight again. I'll be stopping by again when I'm in the area. Keep up the great work! read more

The sushi is always fresh and delicious here! Definitely the best in the area by far. We love the sushi bori roll and the fried Philly roll. The only downside is that it's takeout only (since it's a food truck), but at least there's picnic tables around if you don't mind eating outside. read more

Sushi Bori - Sorry couldn't wait to eat !!! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Friendswood, Texas

The sushi was so fresh & delicious, I was nervous being its a food truck, but way better then some of the restaurants.

Took a while to realize that it's a food truck. With all the 5 stars and one review saying "The ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable, with a clean and modern aesthetic. The seating arrangements allowed for both intimate dinners and larger group gatherings. It's a versatile space suitable for various occasions" Not sure what Brandon was referring to, maybe just a joke. Anyway, we ordered sashimi and 2 rolls. Got home and no wasabi. minus 1 star ! Was hoping for a convenient local option, but maybe not. We like Ocean Sushi Grill. read more

I saw this place pop up on my Yelp recommendations and it was a little out of my way but I finally decided to go try it, and I'm so glad I did! The trailer is in a large parking lot which normally would be a bit of a turn off but I decided to trust my gut with my fellow yelpers and glad I did. When eating it on the spot, the warm parts (tempura, eel) were warm, and the cold parts (raw fish) were cold, I'm happy to report no temperature control issues in this trailer, and the quality of every roll I got was at least as good as the better sushi restaurants in the area! Ok that aside, WOW I really enjoyed my experience eating from Sushi Bori today for the first time. I always try a spicy tuna roll as my baseline, then I decided to get two specialty rolls which honestly despite being hungry was a smidge above how much food I could eat and shared some with my neighbor! The spicy tuna was a great fundamental roll, the fish was fresh, I liked their addition of a little crispy tempura bits, and the green onion did give it a bit of a fusion spin but without being overbearing. Solid roll, but obviously much less complex flavor than specialty rolls. The Akita roll (spicy salmon, cucumber, spicy tuna mix, green onion, spicy mayo & crunch) I expected to be my favorite given spicy tuna being my jam, but despite the slight crunch in it I felt it didn't have as much structure as I sometimes like in my rolls. The flavor was spectacular and grew on me even more with every additional piece, but most likely its because I'm so used to seaweed that the soy paper in it wasn't what I expected? To be clear this was one of the better tasting rolls I've had overall but I wasn't as wowed by it as I expected to be given the description. The star of the show was the orgamilicious roll (tempura shrimp, avocado, eel, spicy crab, eel sauce and spicy mayo). This is the type of roll that I could sit down with eat a piece, palate cleanse, chat, drink some tea, eat another piece a few minutes later and take my time with. It's one I really savored and regret keeping for last because I was full before it ended but this one roll by itself would be enough to keep me coming back, even if it weren't for all the awesome other options I saw on the menu (Bacalaito, mango tuna, etc. etc.) This roll was my version of perfect, each bite had so much complexity, freshness, variety in textures, temperatures, flavors, salt and sweet, it would be overwhelming if you try to shovel it but if you take your time with it, it was really just perfect! Thanks to the Sushi Bori team for all you did for me, and I selfishly wish you great success so I can keep enjoying your awesome food! read more

First off the owner is super cool and friendly and even after driving home (15 minutes) the food was amazing. All fish was very fresh and tasted so good. When trying a new food spot I always order a common item that I'll always love, so this time was no different, I ordered the Shaggy Shaggy. And I had the opportunity to meet Chef Ruben! He kindly let me take a photo of him as I gushed over how lucky I felt! The sushi was amazing, only downfall, he has ruined me for any other sushi spot! Beautifully plated, Wasabi was on point, and ginger was consistently cut and perfectly thin for that right amount of bite to counter the sweet soy sauce. Yum! read more

Came here on a whim when I noticed this truck open up in the area and the owners were so nice. They explained everything on the menu and were very welcoming. I absolutely love sushi and this place has amazing sushi. Just the absolute best in the Friendswood area. They have a wide variety of sushi items and I highly recommend the salmon skin roll. Really adds a crunch with the crispy salmon skin. I also ordered the spicy salmon roll which was equally delicious. I definitely plan on trying out their other menu items, especially their specialty rolls. My two rolls together came out to be $12 with taxes. The quality of the sushi is impeccable and so fresh. It was also so decently priced. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious sushi and for a decent price. I will be spreading the word about this wonderful gem in the Friendswood area! read more
