Pretty spacious sushi spot. They have so many choices and other entrees. The prices are fair too. Quality is up to par with other mid sushi places. They have a lunch special which I did get to partake in due to the time. I got the takumi it was interesting with the roe on top of the rolls. I feel like it was a little too much as I took a bite some of it would just fall off. However, it does make it look nice. I also got the Louisiana roll. I didn't feel like it was anything special. I was pretty disappointed with my overall experience here. From the moment I walked in, there was a noticeable mildew/damp smell throughout the restaurant. It almost smelled like the tables or surfaces had been wiped down with an old, wet towel. The atmosphere itself was okay, but the smell immediately made the restaurant feel unclean and really took away from the experience. I definitely think the space could use a deep cleaning and some freshening up. I will say that the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything throughout my visit. I really had no complaints at all when it came to the service, and I definitely want to give them credit for that. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. I ordered hand rolls, and I wasn't impressed with the quality of the fish. It tasted and felt much more on the cheaper/lower-quality end than what I would expect considering the prices. Looking through the menu, I also felt that a lot of the items were overpriced for the overall quality of the food. For the same price, there are plenty of other sushi restaurants where you can get noticeably better-quality fish and an overall better meal. We absolutely love this place. We come at least once a week. We normally get the bento box but had a craving for Chinese. This was our first time trying it and it did not disappoint. After a long day of work we did not want to come home to cook so we are very thankful for Takumi being one of the few places in Pearland open past 9pm where we could order to-go. The food was delicious and filling. We love everything we order from there and honestly more people should give this place a chance because it's really good.
