It's a solid spot for all-you-can-eat sushi, especially for the price. It's definitely on the cheaper side for AYCE, and the menu has a good variety of rolls and appetizers to choose from. The only downside is that the pieces of fish are pretty small compared to the amount of rice and toppings. The flavors are good, but I wish the fish-to-rice ratio was more balanced. A great deal if you opt for AYCE. I have been here a couple of times with my best friend, and family. Absolute love their raw appetizers - Yellowtail jalapeño, Naruto, Sunomono. They have a nice variety of hand rolls, which are good size & rice to fish ratio is great! My go-tos are spicy salmon & spicy tuna. I'm not crazy about their sushi. I feel that the fish on nigiri pieces are sliced a little too thin, even when you order a la carte. Portions are on the smaller side so the value is not there if you don't do AYCE. If you don't like to consume too much rice, I'd recommend the Naruto appetizer, it has a mix of raw fish wrapped in cucumber. Finish off your meal with green tea ice cream, it's one of the best I've had! Service is great and food comes out fast. Edo is one of the best AYCE sushi places I have been in regards to their affordability and quality ratio. The lunch special is only 17-18 bucks at the time of this review which is very worth it but make sure to check the menu before going since it is a limited menu The dinner menus is also great, and I enjoyed the ice cream and takoyaki! The waiters are attentive and the only thing I didn't enjoy was the hibachi and a lot of the rolls Be very careful with the rolls! They make them way larger than the nigiri and fill them up with rice so that you can't finish them. Every single piece you don't finish is an extra $1.50 charge. They have a large variety of options to choose from as well as appetizers,sides, soups, and desserts.(love the fried banana and green tea ice cream) They give you a pencil and paper to mark each item you would like to order. This makes it easy for orders to be placed. Clean inside and easy parking. Service is hit or miss here. On this visit our waitress did not come back to the table for a very long time so we had long waits before we could order any additional food. also didn't receive any chopsticks or silverware when we requested them. Came here for AYCE Buffet Lunch Special and it cost $16.99. Now mind you there's not much sushi competition around Pearland besides Shogun however this was definitely more worth for its price. Upon entering, the area is very quiet and not many people were there. We have came here before during dinner time but I have never seen it where you would have to wait to be seated which is nice. The servers we had have always been nice, but the host is a hit or miss if they'll even smile at you. Unfortunately the lunch special did not have sashimi but the salmon and tuna was surprisingly very fresh. We ordered Crunch Godzilla Roll, Golden Knight roll and the Asian Muffin. The rolls are hit or miss here with the rice to fish ratio but this time around it was perfect. We also had a couple of appetizers and they always come hot and the tempura isn't soggy with oil like other places. Edo Japan finally brought AYCE sushi to Pearland! I came here with my family for a weeknight dinner because we were craving sushi, but didn't want to drive all the way into Houston to get some. Honestly Edo Japan wasn't bad! Our expectations were a little low because we thought the Edo Japan Fuqua location was just ok, but this newer Pearland location was a lot better. Don't get me wrong, you still get the "AYCE" quality sushi that justifies the cheaper price compared to other sushi places, but overall we would still come back here again. The biggest disappointment was that they don't offer sashimi here even during dinner surprisingly. For lunch we could understand not offering sashimi because of the price, but sashimi should definitely be offered during dinner if they want to compete with other AYCE sushi places in Houston. On a positive note though, their specialty rolls, appetizers, and hibachi steak/shrimp were all pretty good. If you aren't wanting to do AYCE, their a la carte hibachi steak portion is gigantic. Honestly I would come back here again for the a la carte hibachi steak because it will easily feed someone for 3 meals. Overall Edo Japan is a good addition to the Pearland area. I've been to this restaurant twice and I really enjoyed my visit both times! As someone who has been to AYCE sushi restaurants all over, this one has the best deal and the best quality. The service is amazing and I haven't had any issues with my allergies at this restaurant. With the deluxe buffet option (sashimi unlimited), you get a full AYCE menu with so many options PLUS an alcohol drink and dessert. It's rare that you find this deal anywhere else for $32.99. I tried their lunch option for $16.99, too, and while it's a good price for the selection, your sushi/appetizer options are limited and I would rather get the sashimi unlimited buffet as it's more bang for your buck. The restaurant is fairly large and has a few TVs for entertainment. The cooked sushi is just as fresh and tasty as the raw sushi. The appetizers are amazing. Everything was delicious.
