Shrimp fried rice, shaggy dog, pork bun, and noodles
    Danielle Z.

I decided to try this spot since my favorite noodle place, Nam Noodle, recently closed in my area. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, ramen noodles with added steak and broccoli, the Shaggy Dog roll (shrimp tempura with crab meat), and the pork bun. The fried rice was amazing, and the noodle bowl was delicious--I especially appreciated how well it was packed to go. The Shaggy Dog roll was flavorful and definitely a highlight. The pork bun, however, wasn't really my preference; I didn't care for the doughy bun texture. The total came out to about $60, with each item priced under $20. The restaurant itself is small but has a welcoming atmosphere, and it's actually a shared space with another restaurant, which was interesting. My only complaint would be the stinginess with the yum yum sauce--they gave such a small portion and expected it to be shared. Honestly, it pairs so well with the fried rice that I would happily pay extra for a couple more servings. Overall, I had a good experience and look forward to coming back!

    Pork Belly Bun - good

Came here for dinner with my family. We did not know they were connected to Edo Sushi AYCE. Connected kitchen and bar but the restaurant is split by a wall. We asked if my sister can do the sushi AYCE and we do the ramen, but they said no. Only can order single sushi items on the menu. We can sit on the AYCE side but not order the ramen there unless we order on Kami and take it over to Edo. Very confusing, So we stayed at the kami side. I ordered the chashu bento box and they brought a katsu bento out. So I had to wait another 15 mins for my box to come out. I was last to get food. The ramen came out within 5 mins. The teriyaki bento took a while longer. The pork belly bun was very good. The black tonkotsu ramen was pretty bland and you can tell the broth is not the creamy color. The ramen wasn't hot either. The chashu in the ramen was tough. Egg overcook. My chashu bento box was very tender and good tasting. The boiled egg was super overcooked. The biggest fail here was there was a HAIR in my salad. it was quite annoying. They took it away and then came back and asked if I wanted another salad. Of course I do. I barely got to eat mine. Our bill was fully charged. We ended up keeping the katsu bento (the mistake dish) since my niece had touched it. My chasu bento was charged even though The salad had the hair (I think that's quite unusual). We got automatic gratuity with 6 people which may be their standard. But considering they messed up twice on our dishes, grat should not be auto. With the multiple mistakes, avg service and below avg ramen, we prob won't visit again.

We went here for dinner on a Thursday evening. Plenty of seating. Tables are a bit sticky and could use a proper cleaning before next customer. Everything we ate averaged 7/10. Not as flavorful, according to my preference. Portions are decent and you should still definitely give it a try and see if it's for you.

I'm always on the hunt for great ramen and Kami did not disappoint. The service was incredible and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything is priced fairly and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! We will definitely be back!

Great place for a quick lunch. I work in the same complex and usually my pick up order will only take 10 minutes. Great serving portions for under $15. Sushi prices are very affordable too depending which menu item you choose. I've see. It low as $6 starting. Whenever I work in pearland, this is my spot to eat lunch at!

Great if you like anime and Japanese culture. Anime is on all the TVs and the decor matches! The ramen is FANTASTIC and reminds me of when I went to Japan. Highly recommend especially if you are traveling near the airport :)

Food was okay. The flavor was not bad but it was completely unauthentic. I ordered the cilantro ramen and it tasted like a cross between Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. The food also came out very lukewarm, not hot at all. The chicken that came with my dish was clearly boiled chicken breast so it was tough, dry and barely flavored. The kimchi squid was not good either. Service and ambience was okay, not bad but nothing notable. I requested the Japanese chili powder and the waitresses were quite confused. Prices were normal but not low enough to warrant coming back. I gave it two stars for the decor and passable flavor.

Was skeptic with the low 3ish star, but my daughter loves and usually wants ramen when we go out. So a hungry child must have her fix. Surprisingly it wasn't bad as people say it is. Restaurant: for the most part, clean, there were booths as well. Staff: they were great and very attentive. Tonkonstu ramen: 4/5. I was shocked. I usually get like shoyu or miso, but have Tonkonstu a try. Flavorful broth, 3 chasu pork, 3 Naruto fish cakes, many bamboo shoots, not an instant ramen noodle. All in all solid ramen! Just bummed we didn't get a whole egg. It only had half of one. I did order an extra side of eggs but honestly the egg is not good here. My daughter kills ramen egg but she doesn't like this one. Takoyaki: hot, creamy, flavorful, honestly I think they use real octopus tentacles too which is a plus. 5/5 Coke: 5/5 gave it to us in styrofoam cup. Will definitely come back when in the area. Not bad

The Tonkatsu Black soup was good and enough amount of pork belly slices - very filling. The edamame appetizer has a good tasting blend of chili sauce, salt, and herbs. Ambiance seems to be relaxed and our server was pleasant. Overall experience ... definitely, will come back - given the chance.

Decent Japanese food in the burbs for ramen and other traditional rice plates. Plenty of booth and table seating inside. It was fairly empty early evening on a Monday...maybe cause it was a holiday. Very clean. Our waiter, Andreas, was nice and attentive. He checked in every so often. There was a sign at the front that you get a free Thai tea when you show your Yelp review. We ended up with two by accident. The Thai tea wasn't over steeped, grainy, or too sweet. The ice didn't seem to water it down throughout the meal either. The chicken karaage wasn't overly breaded and had good flavor and tenderness. It was good dipped in the mayo-based sauce...and eaten with rice. I had the pork chasu don bento cause I wanted to try a bit of everything. The salad was fresh with a good miso-ginger dressing. The pork gyoza were possibly pan fried and had a crisp wonton. You get large portions of the pork that is sliced. Very tender and had good flavor braised in the sauce similar to pot roast and different from the pork chasu bowl at Jinya (if you've ever tried it). It paired nicely with the soft boiled egg and rice. The broth of the ramen was seasoned well, but it was lukewarm. Some spice for a nice kick could've been added.

Update: Kami Ramen & Bar, I don't know how we got on the wrong foot, but you have redeemed yourself. You are like my side chick when my main ramen restaurant is too far or is closed when I am craving some ramen. The ramen is decent and better tasting than last time. Idk what that was before, but now it's like you had a whole face lift. Unfortunately, it got cold too fast so it was hard to appreciate the flavors. Broth is mild. Noodles are thick. Chashu is aromatic. Love the marinated egg, I can forget that boiled egg you gave me last time. Surprisingly, the karaage was plentiful and had good flavors, would come back again with family. I forgive you Kami Ramen & Sushi.

I will first start off with the place was clean and the customer service was great. Now I favor another ramen spot but when I have a craving and do not feel like making the drive this will do. We had the pork gyoza which were nice and crispy. I believe I had the spicy miso ramen (late review so forgot the name). The noodles were cooked well and the bowl was full of the including toppings which were corn, mushroom, and shoots. The meat was ground pork, however there was not that much in my bowl and it did not have that much pork flavor. The broth was just okay I didn't get the creamy Tonkotsu Flavor I am use too or the umami of miso. I preferred my husbands ramen bowl but I forgot the name as well. He had more meat and the flavor of the broth was better. Also We didn't get the marinated egg bc I couldn't eat any raw foods at the time and they did not have an option for the egg to be cooked well done; they pre make them. Overall not to bad willing to try it again soon.

Finally, Pearland (north) has its own ramen joint! I've been waiting for this since I moved here. And the time has come. The place is brand spankin' new. Literally opened in the last week or so. Everything happens when I'm out of town. One of my friends in the area has been twice already. So let's get to it. I came in on a Friday evening circa 8pm, solo. They have a couple of chairs at the bar, but I was not offered one and didn't see anyone sitting at them. It's a small spot in the back, so it's likely better to get the table, so I got on the list for one. 20 minute wait or so. The staff were very friendly and courteous. There isn't a ton of seating, so it isn't a bustling area, even when all tables are taken. You definitely have space here. I started with the Pork Belly Bun. This was a 3 of 5. The pork belly was basically the same thinness of the chashu in the ramen. The cucumber was thicker, than the pork belly. The flavors you get were bun, sauce and cucumber. I'm pretty sure it would be fantastic if it was a thicker slice of roasted pork belly. The slight amount of meat for this was cold, and not flavorful. I also ordered the karaage, but it came out after my ramen. It doesn't get a fair shake, because it missed it's time to shine. But even so, it was good, and it was hot (which not everything was). I'd go with a 4 of 5. I would have preferred more flavor, and also add options to add spice to it. It came with "spicy" mayo, but that mayo taste overpowered the chicken and I didn't use it after the first try. For the main event, I ordered the Tonkotsu Black Ramen, with an extra egg, brussel sprouts and seaweed. There could have been a wee more bit of broth, you can see in the picture all of the toppings are above the waterline on dry land. The noodles and the broth were hot, which is good. BUT the pork and the brussel sprouts were not. That was a bummer. The brussel sprouts were cooked, but not charred, there was a little browning. That may be intended, but my preference is a bit more carbon on the outside to add flavor to the pork broth. Same with the chashu. Like in the bun, the pork was very thinly sliced, and cold. There was chew to what little fat was on it. I prefer roasted pork belly to fall apart and flavors to melt and mingle. At the very least, to add some roasty pork flavor. The broth alone was good, I might add some garlic and a wee bit of spice next time. All in all, a good showing for opening week. I'll be back again to try more things. My friend thinks the chicken broth beats the pork, so I have to give it a shot too. will update afterwards.

So I'm glad this one in Pearland opened up fairly recently and we got to go here with good friends! The place was bustling on a Monday night with several diners coming in and out and various takeout orders being made. We skipped the dumplings and went straight for the plates. We ordered the Dry Fried Spicy Popcorn Chicken, Mabo Tofu, Ground Pork with Bean Sauce Dry Noodles, and the Mix Flavor Eggplant. The Dry Fried Spicy Popcorn Chicken came out as a huge portion - this is a must-do anytime we get Szechuan food. The chicken was crispy and the side of rice was served on the plate. The Mabo (Mapo? never seen it spelled that way) Tofu was flavorful. It had a good spice to it and was big enough to share. The Ground Pork with Bean Sauce noodles was tasty - the pork paired well with the bean sauce and the dish was topped with sliced cucumbers and peanuts, which made me connect this as a sibling dan dan noodles. The mix flavor eggplant as seasoned really well and was a nice veggie to balance out the other meats we ordered. I expected this to just be a stir fry dish of sauced eggplant, but to my surprise, it was served on top of their signature handmade noodles. Service was friendly and efficient. Our food started coming out within 5 minutes of ordering and the servers kept our waters filled. The only disappointment here was that we asked for scissors to cut the long hand-pulled noodles; they gave us a knife because they didn't have any clean scissors. NOT THE SAME. We hinted that if a pair of scissors happened to get cleaned, we'd love to get it, but we never did unfortunately. So we struggled and played spaghetti with our noods, not necessarily a bad thing. Towards the end of our meal, there were still a few tables dining in, and our table stayed to chat a bit. The staff had no problem with this and even still refilled our waters after we checked out. We had a great experience at the Pearland Noodle Master and will definitely return again soon.

The atmosphere here is pleasant, the employees are very friendly, and the food comes out fairly quickly. This location feels comparable to the others I have visited, and overall it is a great spot for a relaxed lunch or dinner. To start, my mom, sister, and I ordered the Chicken Karaage and Takoyaki. I truly think Tamashi has some of the best takoyaki among ramen chains. They are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and topped with a generous amount of bonito flakes and mayo. The chicken karaage, on the other hand, was one of the weaker parts of the meal, though it could be improved with a few changes. The pieces of chicken were very large, which made them awkward to eat, and they were not very crispy. They also came across as dry and tough. Smaller, bite sized pieces would make this side dish much better. We also ordered Tamashi's Menn, which is hands down the best ramen bowl in the chain. While the noodles and toppings were solid, the real standout was the broth, which had an intense shrimp flavor that was incredibly comforting and warming, especially during colder Texas weather. We also tried the Hot Papa special roll, which tasted good overall but could have used an added element of crunch or contrasting texture. Overall, this Tamashi location delivers exactly what fans of the chain would expect. With friendly service, fast turnaround, and a consistently strong ramen option, it is a reliable neighborhood spot. If they improve the chicken karaage, this could easily become one of my go to casual dining choices.
