Buffet

On business trip from DC decided to drive the distance from downtown Houston to try this restaurant. Expectations weren't high and got nervous when I saw a handful of cars in parking lot. Then remembered probably many Muslims will be coming for Iftar. Where is the 6th star option? This restaurant is beyond expectations impressive in every way. I feel very guilty for only paying $20 for dinner. The place is spotless, very kind friendly staff. Food is a buffet of high quality fresh tasty variety clearly made with love and pride. Houston people you are so lucky!

I really love this Mediterranean buffet! You get to try an assortment of delicious dishes! My absolute favorite is their lamb shank! It's so tender and falls right off the bone. You have to order it from the guys at the grill and they bring it to you. My other favs: the stuffed grape leaves, lentil rice, spicy hummus, baba ganoush, beef kabo They really keep this restaurant clean as well, which I love. Someone comes by frequently to take your plates you are done with. I highly recommend this location!

1st plate. Was so excited forgot to take additional photos of plate 2,3and 4!

I like that it's a buffet. There is better quality out there but it's nice to try other things without risk.

Our group of 7 ordered: Two lbs of brisket: 5/5 nice Smokey flavor, delicious! Beef ribs: 5/5 super tender fall off the bones. Excellent flavor. Collard greens: 5/5 tasty! Mac n cheese: 5/5 nice thick creamy cheesy! Excellent! Coleslaw: 5/5 very good Chicken wings fries: 3.5/5 this was ok Bread pudding: 5/5 amazing flavor! Loved it so much we ordered more at the hobby location! So happy that our last meal in Houston was amazing! On par with Terry Black's!

I came in to Killen's Barbecue about three days ago with my partner. The restaurant itself was very…read moreclean and organized and despite the line, service was fast, efficient, and friendly. My partner had the brisket sandwich with potato salad and a small helping of pickles and pickled red onions and I had the pulled pork tacos. My partner said the brisket sandwich was okay, but we both agreed that the potato salad was fantastic! The potato salad was way better than the one at Pappas Barbecue. The taste of the pulled pork tacos was great, but it was honestly too wet and made the flour tortillas too soggy and there was way too much coleslaw on top. I feel like if Killen's is going to serve pulled pork tacos there needs to be three things done. 1. Serve the tacos with an option of corn tortillas because I feel corn tortillas would've worked better to give a great contrast/pairing with the sweetness of the pulled pork and sauce. 2. Serve the corn/flour tortillas on the side so that they don't get soggy and wet. 3. There are some things that just don't belong on a taco of any kind and that's coleslaw. My partner and I also tasted the banana pudding and to say it was divine is an understatement. What I really like about this pudding was that you could taste real bananas in this pudding and it had been mixed well all together. Our total was $80 after tipping, which is a little pricey for some of the items, but honestly I would definitely come back to Killen's Barbecue when I was in the mood for barbecue.

Hospitable and A-MA-ZING FOOD! Oxtail, doubles, sorrel made in house... Just wow…read more Thought you didn't like goat meat? That's because you haven't had goat from D'Carribean Curry Spot. Their food is so good, it makes you question everything you thought you knew. Also lots of imported Caribbean snacks and drinks! Just beware....... If you are not already addicted to Trinidadian food or haven't tried it before, eating here will start your addiction. You have been warned.

Thank god we found this!…read more After finishing our lunch at Wrap & Roll, we saw this out of the corner of the eye and decided to stop here as the girlfriend was looking for some caribbean snacks. Being from St Croix island in the Virgin Islands, seeing the menu and taking in the smells of this place gave her memories of back home. Of course I was happy to indulge her request as it gave me an opportunity to try some handheld eats. First the beef pattie, pretty big and so savory with the meat melting in your mouth and the dough having a nice texture and crust. And then the saheena; OMG! It was my first time having this lovely pastry which is made of chickpeas, spinach, and caribbean spices. You'll be hooked on this after one bite. Texture was similar to a savory piece of cornbread. Of course I was very happy with this item. The girlfriend ordered a currant roll which had some sweetness to it with a flaky crust. I enjoyed it but not as much as I was scarfing down my beef pattie and saheena. They also serve traditional caribbean eats including jerk chicken, oxtails, bake & saltfish, and roti wraps. We noticed a lot of people place to go orders here and call ahead for pick up. There were several bags of eats waiting as we witnessed people roll in and pick them up while having small talk with the owners. All those items looked delicious and we plan to come back and try those out. We also talked to the owners for a bit, they're a husband/wife team who've owned/operated this place for a while. Super polite and gracious, they helped me navigate the menu and explained what the items would be like when I ordered. Sadly I could not get the Aloo Pie (sold out) but they assured me it's worth having and to come back and try it (which we will). Pearland is lucky to have this place here. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!

I asked if they served any alcohol, alcoholic beverages, and was informed that they have plans to start selling alcohol within the next 3 to 4 months. I inquired if they were going to have a full barn with a bartender and was told that they plan to start slow by just selling certain alcoholic beverages initially then overtime increase the number of items that are offered. I made my order to go so I could take pictures of my food before I forgot to take pictures. It seems that currently most of their business is takeout. Takeout business is brisk. I've seen three or four while waiting for my food to be prepared. In my opinion the Saag Chicken is prepared in the Southern style, in spite of what the manager said. My food is piping, hot and delicious. The server brought me a plate and silverware when he saw me opening my dishes. He returned with a glass or water also, I love this attention to detail it can make an average experience memorable. The interior could be more inviting with different furniture, making it more appealing. GN3
