I came back here with my son and didn't know what to get him. They sell sides of protein or "extra" for a small fee. If you've been to a Poke Bros before, you know the deal. Pick your base (rice or salad), add your ingredients, protein, and flavors, and enjoy. I chose a build your own bowl which ended costing $18.19 which is a little more than I like to pay, especially considering I was still hungry after finishing it, but the flavors were good. Guess I was feeling particularly hungry. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the bathrooms are super clean. A nice addition to the area. Hope they stick around. read more

I recently tried my first Poké bowl restaurant January in a different state, and I fell in love. Back home to the Region I found this little gem. My biggest thing on new places is consistency since that will make or break a place next to customer service and price. Everyone working is nice, pleasant and very thankful. I was a bit sad at the portions they were using a 2 ounce scoop maybe?? Could be haven't hit their stride being new. I would suggest going in to order to maybe nudge them for a little more of this and that. Over all I've been super happy with all of my choices....till this evening. My Husband ran in for me for a "to go." When we got home I was looking for the big hole in my bowl as on visit four the portions shrunk!!! I will add more pictures for you to see. Now if I love a place I'll make the drive to go eat since it is in Schererville and I live in North Hammond. I however will not if this skimping continues. Yes prices are up (as is everywhere) and maybe the concept is not ready for these times, I do not know. You can pay for extra proteins and other items such as avocado, Masego, and mango to name a few. Also the sauces are named differently on the to go menu, and on line...eel sauce is called sweet sauce, spicy mayo has a different name as well. Again, I suggest going in and watching them. On one of my visits the kind man put too much sauce on, but I don't count that as a negative. I will definitely go back for my fifth visit to see if they were just having "a day!" For those of you that will not try/eat raw tuna or salmon no worries, they make bowls with shrimp or chicken but why order that @a Poke place? P.S. They have a "punch card" 10 visits one free bowl. Eh. Not really a fan. This place is nice because of the way you get to build your own bowl, but this kind of place just certainly isn't for me. The lady who was making my bowl kept messing up and adding things that weren't in the bowl I ordered. She was nice though, but two stars for incorrect order. read more

Yesterday, I convinced my wife that we should have Poke Bros. for lunch and I'm glad I did. Because we were both off, she forced me to drive her around so she could run a bunch of errands I needed her to complete. We went to Highland, back to Schererville, to Dyer, and back to Schererville, before heading back to Highland and Schereville, one more time. I actually had our route all planned out with lunch in the middle, but whilst traveling from points a to d, she would continue to add sub sections .1 and .2, to each. It didn't help that the dongle I use to connect my phone to my car's aux jack isn't an Apple product. I'm not suggesting that Apple products are superior, rather I'm suggesting that Apple doesn't play nice and often updates their software as to intentionally turn its nose up at its contemporaries, but because it was working correctly at the start of the day, I basked in the excitement of seeing her face as we toured the tri-town to my newest Spotify playlist. It spanned from DURY to Youth of Today, to The Old 97's, and then back to "Old New York's own," Agnostic Front. As expected, before long it failed, prompting me to set the radio dial to ranchero music. Full transparency, I have no idea what any of the songs were about, but in my opinion, it always makes for the best background music. If you don't believe me, try it next time your forced to endure terrestrial radio. Side note: Our 11 year old daughter slept in the car the entire day after retuning from a "sleep-over" the night before. Fortunately for her she was able to muster enough energy to patronize Bath and Bodywork's, but just barley. Either way, she was too tired to eat, so I was spared purchasing her a poke bowl to waste. By any metric, one point in "dad win column." Although my entire day was spent driving around , I eventually get to check out Poke Bros. We ordered online, which was easy and efficient. I chose the Johnny Utah Salmon*, Avocado, Edamame, Cucumber, Masago, OG Sauce, Sriracha Aioli The wife selected the Hula Shrimp, Green Onion, Cucumber, Crab Stick, Avocado, Masago, OG Sauce, Sriracha Aioli, Coconut Ginger Both were amazing! I ate all of my and .25% of her's. She opted to use chopsticks while I went with a plastic fork. I feel like chopsticks are inappropriate for car dining, but I digress. We ate in the car to the romantic sounds of a bratty child's snore entangled with Spanish crooning drizzled over accordion music. 10/10 read more

Visiting from Seattle, I thought I was taking my life into my own hands by getting Indiana poke, but I was pleasantly surprised by Poke Bros! This place is on par with any other good big city poke place of the same style. In my experience there are two kinds of poke - create your own bowl and the more traditional Hawaiian marinated fish style. This is more the create your own bowl kind and they do it well. Great to have a healthy and delicious takeout option in the area. Decent price too. read more
