Decent enough themed steakhouse. Food choices and taste is okay. Service is good. However, the waiting area is cramped. The decor is outdated. And parking can be tight. Maybe it's no wonder why the other local Texas named steakhouses do so much better. read more

I got a blooming onion... no extra sauce as requested. 12 rolls- no butter that I paid for an iced tea- was tasty and had straw taped to the top, and a piece of cake that was good too. Highly recommend the blooming onion but I'd verify everything you paid for is inside bag before walking out the door. read more

I ordered Takeout because I wanted a steak and sweet potato...however, this entire order left a LOT to be desired: I ordered a sirloin, sweet potato, and a few rolls with cinnamon butter. Interesting here I think you get the rolls and butter if you dine in the restaurant, but you have to pay when you get it for takeout... Sirloin: I ordered Medium and it appeared to be more like medium/well or well done. When I opened the container, the small steak was wrapped in foil. Although it did taste good, it definitely was NOT hot. I was at the restaurant about two minutes after the app told me the order was ready for pickup and I live only 5 minutes away. 5/10 Rolls: these were hard and cold, and the fact that I had to pay for them is ridiculous. In fact, when you dine in you normally receive these with your meal, but I had to pay along with paying for the butter, too. 4/10 Sweet Potato: although this comes along with the steak, it was NOT what I am used to from dining at Texas Corral. This one wasn't cooked all the way through. There was NO butter or toppings to go along with it. 2/10 The Soup: it says "daily" soup, but it was definitely unrecognizable. It was just warm. Didnt even make it past the host stand. I have never been to Texas Corral but my friend suggested I should try it so we planned to go for lunch today. When the host asked me if I want a booth or table she said "Will you fit in the booth, do you think?" And I was shocked, I've never been asked that and I typically dont have that kind of trouble. Also, I did let her know that one of the 2 remaining members to show up in my party were under 21 so I was unsure if we could sit in the bar area. She asked if both or just one were under 21 and I said I believe only one but I dont know for sure. The host just said "well you kinda have to know." The short experience I had at Texas Corral was extremely uncomfortable and if their service experience is anything like the experience I had at the host stand, I will definitely steer clear the establishment. read more

Had a taste for a steak and a baked potato and I have to say I was a little disappointed. I told the waitress I wanted the fillet and it turns out they're fillet is medallions, not a whole fillet. While it tasted good, it wasn't what I wanted. If you want a whole fillet and not filet medallions, this is not the place for you. read more

We were in Indiana today and hubby recommended this chain for our family for a good steak. I was skeptical, but I'm so glad we went! Despite their being super busy, we were seated in about 20 minutes. We had calamari for an appetizer, and while there weren't many to the order, they were good. He ordered margaritas for all of the adults, and they were HUGE! (A great value at $10...see my picture.) The baked potato soup and salads we had to start were good, as were the warm rolls they serve with cinnamon butter. Our daughter loved her shrimp scampi with linguine and I had the special which was a 10 Oz ribeye with Margarita shrimp. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was done perfectly! My mom and husband ordered prime rib, both medium rare, and both were overdone. My mom's was a bit pink so she kept hers, while hubby's was too well done. Minus one star for that. Our server took it back and he was served a new steak promptly which was much better. Nice big baked potatoes, too. After all this we were far too full for dessert, but we enjoyed. Prices are reasonable for what you get and outside of the steak mishap, no other issues. It was a nice meal. read more

For the second Monday in a row I took advantage of the "all-you-can-eat" rib special and the 75 cent draft beers. I walked in with my eyes bigger than my stomach because all I could eat was three servings. These ribs were delicious, falling off the bone and VERY meaty. When we arrived the wait ti.e was stated at 25 to 30 minutes. In actuality it was only about 15 mins. They did take our temperature before seating us. The staff is all wearing masks and they are seating with social distancing. You no longer receive a bucket of peanuts, they are only brought to you if you request them. As usual the rolls are to die for...yummy. We started with the Texas Rose appetizer. Very bland if you do not do the dipping sauce. Also not a crisp batter on it:( next we ordered the fajita and chicken sandwich and also added on the Chicken and dumpling soup. The soup is a creamy soup that has in my opinion too much spice. I even asked hubby what he thought the spice was. His best guess was all spice. Just overpowering that you cannot taste anything else. My buffalo chicken sandwich was mushy. The basic hamburger type bun does not hold up well and was too soggy. The actual buffalo chicken was good. It would be better served if the breading had more of a crisp to it. Hubby liked his fajita. He only suggest they do not go so stingy with the cheese. Maybe a tablespoon tops was sprinkled over the shredded lettuce. Sandwich $8.99 Fajita was $13.99 with soup 1 soft drink and the Texas Rose bill came to just under $37 before tip. Our server was attentive and friendly. read more

There aren't really any vegetarian entrees here, but you can easily make a meal out of appetizers. The serving sizes are large and the prices are low. Plus, every table comes with a bucket of peanuts to munch 0n and a basket of bread with cinnamon butter is included. Love that cinnamon butter! My brother loves this place, and he got a huge glass of beer for like $5 - so that will definitely keep him coming back. Came here with my sister after some shopping. We got there almost when they were closing. Our waitress (Brandi) was awesome. So friendly. This is my first time here, but my sisters been there a few times. They served us some rolls and they have this like sweet spread for it or butter. The spread was good, but not sure I really liked it with the roll. Tea - My sister likes it. Long Island Iced Tea - I thought it was good. Didn't have strong liquor taste, but I did feel the liquor. Chicken Dumpling Soup - It was a bit cold (granted we went close to closing time). I'm also not a big soup fan. Buffalo Shrimp with Baked Sweet Potato - My sister liked it, I thought it was ok. Had quite a bit of kick to it. Texas Roasted Chicken - BBQ - I ordered this. Originally looking at it, I thought it was just some chicken they poured BBQ sauce over, but it was so much more. The chicken was moist and the BBQ sauce was good. Had good flavor and a kick. I love how the chicken had this smoky flavor to it. It was good just on it's own. I thought the mashed potatoes was good, but nothing special. We both had like half of our entrees left and packed it to go. We were both joking about we going to enjoy it later. Ha! guess what? We didn't even get any. I just watched my mom kill my chicken and mashed potatoes. My brother ate my sisters. Do you know Texas Corral and Amarillo Roadhouse are like the same thing? I mean they have the same menu and everything. Last week I had lunch at the Amarillo Roadhouse in Schererville IN which I did a review on now I thought I would compare and contrast for you. Despite being the same there were some differences. I dined alone at both places at the Amarillo roadhouse I received 2 rolls at the Texas Corral I received 1. At both I was able to get for less than a sawbuck so the value wasn't bad. They had a few $6.99 lunch specials(Monday-Saturday 11 a.m.-3 p.m.) and some for just a dollar or 2 more. I chose the grilled chicken which came with the choice of one side making a tough decision but I opted for the sweet potato and I splurged and added a "sidekick" salad for $1.99. The server was also the bartender, and I saw her seat some folks so maybe the hostess too. The service was mediocre at best. Maybe she had to much to do or maybe Colin at Amarillo Roadhouse was really good not sure. I did manage. I was certainly glad I didn't need anything as there was no checking on you or can I get you anything else that would be forthcoming. Order, salad,entree, check all done. The salad came out in a two shakes of a lambs tale. It was a salad. Now here the salad dressing came in a small container to the side which made the presentation better than at the Amarillo Roadhouse where got just the packet and had to endure a struggle to open it. There was a bit of a wait for main course making me wish I had gotten a 2nd roll. It was not an unreasonable amount of time. The grilled chicken was good not dry like at the Amarillo Roadhouse. The atmosphere was much brighter than at Amarillo Roadhouse. In conclusion for the lunch special of grilled chicken with side of a sweet potato and splurging for the "sidekick" salad on presentation and how the food tasted Texas Corral clear winner no contest but in the service department Amarillo Roadhouse wins in a landslide. Now if some how could just get the best of both worlds together. read more

I eat at Texas Corral quite a bit as I really enjoy their Taco Salad. Today while eating at the restaurant I bit into a smallish piece of glass on my first bite which cut my gum. I let the waiter know right away and he called over the manager. She said that she'd save the glass piece and talk to their food distributor. She then made a huge deal over getting us new waters. Stopped in on a Tuesday evening at 8:15 with my 13 year old son. We are newer to the area and wanted to give it a try. We were greeted and asked how many, to which I replied "two". The greeter stepped away for a couple seconds into the kitchen and a male returned and said he could not seat us because they were closing soon. When I looked at the time, I said "Sir, it is 40 minutes before you close". He said they had to start shutting down the kitchen and cleaning up so it was done by 9pm. I was surprised (and a little annoyed because I was hungry), so I asked if he was a supervisor or manager. He said he was not and I asked him to kindly go get the person who was. When the female approached, she indicated this was not her normal location and said I should not have been told that we couldn't be seated. She was apologetic, but also passed it off as it wasn't her restaurant & she was filling in. We politely declined the offer to be seated and went to Miner-Dunn and had a great experience. Maybe we'll give it another shot down the road, but we'll be sure to stop in a good two hours before closing time. read more
