I am not sure why the reviews are not better for this restaurant but we were very pleased with our experience. Went with another couple on a Saturday when they opened. Seated by the window with a great view of Lake Michigan. Service was fantastic and food came out hot and without delays. Steak was cooked perfectly and not over seasoned, salmon was moist and not overcooked. Would recommend giving them a try next time you go! read more

I tried this place because I love it in Vegas. Treated my friend for her birthday but didn't know that Jack Binion's is under construction until July and they were operating as Jack Bistro which mean a limited menu. The view was absolutely gorgeous, food and drinks were good and the staff was very pleasant. read more

Jack Binion's Steak - Ribeye steak, grilled asparagus, and purée potatoes (mashed potatoes ) - Steakhouses Near Me - Hammond, Indiana

The hostess was really nice and polite. Ambience, and the City View was great. However, on a Saturday night the place was really slow and service from the waitress took forever, she barely check in on us, yet we tip her, they make minimum. Additionally, the food took long to prepare the signature dishes that fell flat in texture, taste and quality. There was less than 20 people in the entire restaurant establishment for the service to be as slow as it was and the meal fell below my expectations. Old baked potato and dried out, slight warm/cold mashed potatoes and rubbery NY strip steak. Our special occasion was wonderful but the food and service was disappointing to say the least. We paid the bill tip the waitress and left. IMPROVMENT IS NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

If you're a vegetarian who loves to hit the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, you know the struggle of finding a high-quality meal. Jack Binion's Steak completely shattered my expectations! While it's a premier steakhouse, their variety of vegetarian options is impressive--far beyond the standard "sides only" experience you find elsewhere. The dishes were flavorful, creative, and clearly well-thought-out for plant-based diners. What truly elevated the night was the exceptional service. A huge shoutout to George at the bar for his expertise and top-tier hospitality, and to Veronica, the host, for making us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The customer service here is beyond all expectations. If you're gambling at Horseshoe, do yourself a favor and eat here! read more

If you go I highly recommend requesting a seat near the windows. We went around 630p and the place was well lit. Looked darker near the bar. Our host was Sara and she was super nice and attentive. The place looked clean and well kept. The strawberry sidecar was good but a bit too sweet. We both had the ribeye and it was seasoned well and cooked just right. The mashed potatoes were delicious if they used fresh grilled garlic it would've been even better. I do not recommend the pepper jack Mac and cheese. It has no flavor. read more

I have been to Jack Binion's three or four times, but this was my first post-Covid dining experience there. If I'd never been there before I would have given this 5 stars, but comparatively speaking I was seriously disappointed that they no longer have a wine list -- just what's on the menu -- and other than the Stag's Leap this was quite a pedestrian wine list for a fine dining restaurant. Having said that, $148.00 for a 2021 Artemis is a bit steep. Nonetheless, it was OUTSTANDING! The service from the Hostess and our Waitress (Olga) was second to none!!! FIVE STARS PLUS! My wife had the 12oz NY Strip ordered medium rare but served medium--disappointing. The large baked potato came with a side flight tray with butter, shredded cheese, bacon bits and sour cream. The Asparagus was exceptionally well prepared and seasoned; Crisp and fresh. I had the 6oz Filet Mignon and 6oz Lobster Tail. The lobster was perfect, simply perfect. Cooked and seasoned well, and though drawn butter was an accompaniment it was not needed. The steak, in contrast to my wife's overcooked Strip, was well under and was rare. I dare not send it back because they clearly don't understand the nuances of cooking a thick steak to the appropriate medium rare temperature. They no longer offer Classic Tiramisù: Only three offerings -- Chocolate Cake (Whipped Ganache, Buttercream & Carrots, Raisins), Carrot Cake (Cream Cheese Icing, Candied Walnuts & Carrots, Raisins, Walnut Gelato -- DELECTABLE) and White Chocolate Cheese Cake (Fresh Strawberries, Strawberry Mousse). The cigarette smell was pervasive in the restaurant though no one was actually smoking inside Jack Binion's. read more

My husband and I made reservations here approximately two months in advance, knowing we were seeing a comedy show the same night. Our server was Olga and it was just a failure from the beginning. We ordered drinks, and it took close to 30 minutes to get them! The restaurant was not busy as we had many empty tables around us. My husband ordered the New York Strip with Mac & cheese and I ordered the baked chicken with potatoes and broccoli. When my food arrived, my potatoes were burnt and so was the chicken! The chicken was super dry, it was quite disgusting! I'm not one to send food back because I know the kitchen staff will spit in it or drop the food on the floor. I did take a picture of it that I have attached to this posting. Olga came to our table and clearly saw both of our drinks were empty yet never asked if we wanted another drink?? She did bring the water pitcher to fill the water glasses but yet again, completely ignored the empty glasses. We had to tell her that we wanted another. When those drinks arrived, mine was correct and my husband ended up with a wild berry martini. Our check was $177 and as much as I wanted to leave no tip for the terrible service, I'm not that kind of person! I really hope Olga gets some training from management! I'm sorry to say that we will not come back here! read more

This is a comfortable and roomy steakhouse on the third floor of the Horseshoe Casino.  During the daytime, you can enjoy a nice lakeside view here also, but it was too dark for our dinner outing.  We did enjoy a nice multi-course dinner though courtesy of a regular high roller here.  I personally was last in the Horseshoe Casino maybe 15 years ago when I was working in the area and had a buffet lunch here, but didn't remember or recognize a thing about this place. As far as our dinner, mine for one was excellent, but it depended on your entree.  I'll go with 4 stars for our outing overall though.  I wasn't paying, but I would never go with 5 stars here in any event, as prices are casino sky-high and inflated, but that's ok as they have their niche casino-going customer base.  Our party of 4 shared the following appetizers, which were all excellent. - shrimp cocktail - BBQ chicken flatbread - fried calamari (and a relatively generous serving here) The complimentary bread was warm, fresh, and delicious.  I also had a couple of Three Floyds' Gumballhead beers, actually priced very normally at $7 per bottle.  Our party's entrees were as follows. I had the 16 oz prime rib, $49.95.  It might well have been the best prime rib ever for me.  It was right up there with Lawry's.  I had it medium-rare, and it was prepared perfectly.  It was thick and probably more like 20 oz. I was very happy to see prime rib on the menu as no recent reviews or photos mentioned it.  It apparently returned here just a few weeks ago after a multi-year absence, yippie-yi-yay!  This entree turned out to be the best valued dinner entree on the menu.  It came with jus, but I had to ask for horseradish, and was halfway done when I finally got the strong condiment. Wife had the 16 oz ribeye, $56.95.   It was prepared medium, and turned out to be a bit tough. High roller had herb crusted lamb chops, MP of $72.  It was a generous 8 bone, 4 chop serving.  But the chops were overly well done, and the heavy seasoning overwhelmed the lamb taste. High roller's wife had the twin lobster tails, MP of $89.  These were two 6 oz tails, on the dried out side, and pretty stingy for the high price. We shared a chocolate jackpot cake slice for dessert.  We also shared nice sides of asparagus, a loaded baked potato, and sauteed mushrooms, all of which came in large shareable portions. Overall, due to my excellent prime rib entree, I go with 4 stars for our outing.  If I had ordered one of the other entrees mentioned, I'd probably go 3 stars.  The dining room was bright, comfortable, and smoke-free, unlike the rest of the casino (this is Indiana mind you).  Our server Olga was friendly and competent but did go missing for longer periods, but it was relatively busy for what that's worth.  Don't come here expecting a quick dinner, but you can expect an enjoyable albeit pricey one. read more

The night started with a fabulous hostess. She was funny and welcoming. She seated my sister and I at a table with a view. A perfect spot to celebrate our Birthday trip. Abraham was our waiter! He was attentive and knew the menu. We ordered a couple salads a ribeye steak and the pork shank. The salads were great... both dressings were spot on and from scratch. The dinners arrived as they should have. The RIBEYE was cooked perfectly the corn side was tasty. The pork was something that does not belong on the menu. It was not steakhouse worthy.... You really should have a quality PORK CHOP. That Pork Shank was not good....flavorless.. and cooked in at ahead of time.... Yuck. The mashed potatoes were great and so was the gravy.... The pork shank needs to be replaced by something that can be served Fresh and not precooked... Service was fabulous!!! read more

We made a reservation because we were going to see Johnny Mathis in the casino attached to this restaurant, and we knew the place close to eat. The reservation was kept exactly on the minute. The salad was one of the best spinach salad I've ever eaten in my life, the dressing was terrific. They put blueberries and pecans and tiny little onions all in their own dressing. It was terrific, and then my wife and I shared salmon and we asked for it to be done blackened and I don't know what they served on. It was like some kind of a bulgar and they had fried mushrooms in. It was pretty good. The salmon was terrific. The only thing that's negative was the service was very slow And at one point, I worried that we would make the theater which is right down below it at 8 o'clock and this was a 630 reservation. That's the only negative thing. read more

My dad likes to gamble so once or twice a year he gets a celebration gift card to the steak house. As others have said, the view of the Lake is great ambiance. We have never had anything but great service. I usually order a Cesar salad, filet medium plus (it's in between medium and well done) with brussel sprouts and a dessert. My dad usually orders a soup, also medium plus steaks and mashed potatoes. The sides aren't included but are big enough for two people. Everything has always been great. Some desserts are better than others. I think my favorite has been the cheesecake. Overall, you can't go wrong. read more

This is the first negative review I have written and I eat out several times per week. Extremely poor service. Both glasses of wine we ordered were stale and had to be replaced. We were a party of 4 and only received 3 dinners. When dinner came we had no silverware and no steak knives and the server looked at us like we had an unreasonable request so the dinners sat there and got cold while we waited for utensils. Average time for a drink order was 45 minutes. Never once had our water refilled during our entire dinner service. Had 6 PM reservations and received my entire at 7:40 PM. The only person that seemed to care was the hostess who, in addition to her own job, bussed tables, replaced drinks and tried her best to make things right. What a shame for a high end steak house. In spite of all that, the food tasted pretty good. read more

This was a very nice dinner spot out in Hammond. Now your choices in Hammond aren't that wide (Vogel's and Phil Schmidt's are gone), so having a really nice steak house at the Horseshoe Casino was welcome. Service was spot on, the dining room had wonderful views of Lake Michigan (even though you could see the steel mills over in East Chicago), and the food was delish. We started out with cocktails and this was the only place Binion's came up short ... one in our party ordered a drink with Beefeater's - and the bar didn't have Beefeaters. Now I realize this is a first world problem but, if you are going to have a 4-$$$$ restaurant, you should match it with a 4-star bar. The bar was lacking. They had a pretty good wine list, but everything wasn't as fresh as it could have been. For appetizers we shared a couple of orders of Shrimp Cocktail (5 star stuff as it was done perfectly, and not overdone). Our table of eight had a number of items for dinner, but mostly the filet (5 stars as you could cut it with a fork) and routinely done right to order. One or two at the table tried the Sea Bass, and it also was excellent (4 stars ... but remember this is a steakhouse and not a fish house). One at our table had the Prime Rib (a 3-star serviceable offering, but you won't confuse this with a Lawry's Prime Rib). For dessert we tried one of each of the three offerings (each 4-star nice). It was just a nice taste of a sweet before retiring to the gaming floor. Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. Whether you gamble or not, this was a nice dinner setting. read more

Had dinner on Friday Night July 25, 2025. First time there and the the service was absolutely horrible. We had reservations and were seated relatively quickly. We placed our food order and waited and waited for over an hour for our food to come out. The waitress never checked on us in the mean time. We had tickets to see Jeff Dunham and were extremely worried we were going to be late even though we had allowed plenty of time for dinner. I highly doubt NOT recommend this restaurant. A restaurant of this caliber should have exceptional service. It was the worst service I've ever had at any restaurant. read more

We were looking for somewhere to eat before the comedy show and Jack Binion was right there in the casino, so we decided to check them out. First off, the ambience was nice laid back and casual setting. We were greeted by a wonderful staff. We had Fried Calamari, Grilled Chicken and Herb Salmon. Great choices, no complaints at all. Service was great as well. If I'm ever in the area I will most definitely check them out again. Great job Jack Binion. read more

I don't know where to start. First we were not aware we needed reservations. I guess that was our first mistake. So we waited 30 minutes to sit at the bar to eat. We put our order in right away. That was at 6pm. It's now 7pm and we have no dinner. No salad and a show which starts in an hour. The bartender has been busting his butt taking care of the people eating at the bar and doing drinks. Other people ordered appetizers and those came out right away. I'm starving and when I'm hungry I get hangry. He's checked a couple time and says there are 3 tickets ahead of us. WTF? Really ready to walk out and go get a burger. I'm not sure if you get better food delivery of you're in the dining room but this is ridiculous. read more

First this casino needs better signs in the casino. There's plenty of room on the signs above head. Let's spend a little money so patrons can find places. RESERVATIONS ONLY! Beautiful views! Food: yummy! Caesar salad on point. Bread soft in the inside, crunchy outside. We ordered the NY strip medium rare. Almost. ;) ORDER THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS! You're welcome. Bourbon cream corn is really good. Service: the host is cleaning off tables? What? We stood around for 10 minutes for him to back and ask could we wait a few minutes while he cleared some tables. What??? Our server was good. But they definitely need to hire more servers. They absolutely cannot keep up when it gets busy, and it does. read more

Wanted steak for dinner. Husband wanted date night. So, why not?!? Nice view. Wish it had been sunny OR darker outside. Either way, the view was nice. Our server was very friendly and talkative. I don't remember her name. She made great small talk and offered suggestions. Checked on us often. No complaints. Food was delish! Drinkys were good. Lots to choose from! I'd maybe order medium rare bs medium, just to be on the safer side of what I enjoy. Everything was cooked to perfection otherwise. read more

I came here on a Friday afternoon and was seated immediately for a party of 2. It was empty and we asked to sit at the table overlooking the beautiful Lake Michigan. We started off with complimentary bread. I got a few appetizers to start off. Two orders of oysters. Half dozen of the fresh shucked and a half dozen of the char grilled. I had better char grilled oysters elsewhere. My gf liked the fresh shucked oysters and this says a lot. We also ordered the crab cake which only came with 1 crab cake. It was nicely decorated with smoked bacon. Our main entrees included the 12oz filet mignon, crab legs, and lobster. I wanted my steak to be medium, but it came medium well to almost well done, which was too tough for me. The crab legs were a little dry. The lobster was amazing, it came with two lobster tails. We ordered a few desserts. They were terrible, very dry and tasteless. This restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of the Horseshoe Hammond casino. Our waitress, Trisha was very attentive, friendly, and has a great attitude. I would give service a rating of a 5 while the food is only a 3. read more

Great view and escape from Illinois for a few hours and fun people coming and going from the casino for the show

The restaurant was nice and roomy and had a great lake view. The food could have been better, I had the filet which was underseasoned also had the mashed potatoes which were over-whipped and super salty. I also tried the dessert and just wasn't a fan. I did try to tell the waitress about the food and she didn't seem to care and just said let me get you a to-go box. I won;t go back. read more

This place is not what it used to be. We had dinner there last night and our waitress was good but forgot a couple of things we reminded her of. Not a big deal but what was a big deal is price gauging....$131.00 for 1/3 lb of crab add on? C'mon guys. That's ludicrous. That's not market price. The crab was also very dry. So so so not worth that ridiculous cost. Steaks were excellent. The herb crusted shrimp was okay. Crispy Brussels were very tasty. Wedge salad was very small. Overall an okay experience. They need to bring back the Oyster Rockefeller. That used to be the best thing on the menu. We won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Stopped in tonight right at opening. Line at the door. Only seating available was at the bar. OK, no problem. Went to several open seats. Got told, "those are taken". Moved to more open seats, Got told "those are taken." Finally got 2 seats that were NOT taken. Got menus, ordered drinks. Spinach dip app was good but the grilled bread was ice cold. Bartender came over, took my empty glass and didn't even ASK if I wanted another. Ordered dinner. Steak was good, done medium rare, very tender. Got the check and waited and waited and waited. Finally took the bill and our credit card to the host stand and asked to be rung out. Didn't feel very welcomed. Felt like we were putting the bartenders out that they had to serve food. Probably won't be back to eat there. read more

Delicious! I always eat here with my father, when we're in a gambling mood. He usually gets food comped, since he's a big gambler.. Meals are very pricey, the bill is always over $100 for two of us. Our average bill is around $145, that's including tip. The food is amazing! A few nights ago we ordered Oysters Rockefeller, so fresh and meaty. The bread is really good too and they give you various kinds, with different types of butter. Prime rib was so juicy and huge.. My salmon was grilled perfectly. Didn't taste fishy at all. Very tender food, melts in your mouth. The baked sweet potato and mushrooms were devine! Yummy martinis.... I have leftovers everytime, the portions are huge. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I order something different each time. My father's favorites are any of the steaks.. I've been pleased with the pork, fish, and lamb. I am always very satisfied, happy, and full after eating here. Highly recommending if you're going to Horseshoe Casino to do some gambling. It never hurts after winning at roulette, blackjack, or poker. I did really well a few nights ago.. So with some comps and gambling winnings, this place doesn't hurt the wallet too bad! Check it out Finally, I don't smoke.. And smoking is banned indoors in the Chicagoland area. Since this is Hammond, Indiana - you can smoke throughout the casino. And this restaurant does have a smoking section for all of you smokers read more

Chicago is considered one of the best restaurant city's. But if someone was to visit Jack Binion's the would definitely not agree. I was not impressed the the service or the food. The service was subpar as much as the food. How can you go wrong with a burger. I ordered the Waygu burger which tasted as if it had simply been heated up and served on a bun with condiments. The appetizer was suppose to be calamari but what we got was mostly peppers. Not impressed and will not be returning. read more

Binion's sets a gold standard for high-end steakhouses. Service, food and ambiance are all tops. Service: We showed up for our reservations 30 minutes late, ooops. But no problem we got seated immediately and had delicious bread and butters infused with cheese to satisfy our hunger while our food was made. The waitress learned our names congratulated the bachelor and made him feel special. When we got desert she had Congratulations spelled in chocolate on his plate, always a nice touch. Very freindly and checked back often. 5-star Food: The complimentary bread starter was impressive because of the variety you got to choose from i especially liked the wheat raisin bread. I got the Prime Rib, cooked as you'd expect medium-rare. I was satisfied, it's just not one of those dishes I've ever seen go wrong. For desert we got a cheesecake which was velvety and well complimented with sugared fruits. 4-star good but as expected Ambiance: As most high end steakhouses it has dark wood and low lighting.
