Visiting my husband who is working @ the Vogel Plant. This "dive" is very close to the plant, so it's the "go to" place for most traveling workers. Decided to head to "Pointers" because we wanted to get out & have a beer - but didn't want to drive 20miles to Augusta. We visited on brotherhood night, Thursdays - during a busy night for dinner. The staff was attentive, respectful and pleasantly flirtatious. Descent prices. French Dip with the Au Jus was amazing! I got a side of the pasta salad - simple, refreshing, with a little tang. Next time I'll ask for a side of extra dressing. My hubby had the Golden BBQ boneless - mustard based. Chicken was cooked perfectly - to a crisp. Dessert was a great ending! Great quick bite/booze-up place. I'm rating this based on what's "around" - and there is nothing near here like this. So that automatically gives Pointer's extra stars . I'm grateful as the wife of a traveling worker that Pointer's is close - so the workers have a place to go x food & alcohol extremely close to their temporary home. Stay safe! read more

Went here about a month ago. The staff was rude, there was only 2 servers. And you could hear them some old white man behind the bar making racial comments about people in the bar and playing county music. The food was horrible including the presentation. The wings looked rubbery and under cooked. My husband had some pasta the chicken was dry it had no taste. This place needs help. And none of the photos on here are of the Rude staff and owner of the bar now! read more

On January 29th. 2020 a group of friends and I met after work. It was so dark that we had to use the light from our phones to see the menu. My boyfriend and I ordered food. Which never came a hour and half later no food...only one refill of drinks...which I went to the bar to get. The customer service is Pathetic and seems to revolve around certain groups from the local plant...which of workers who only going to be temporary customers that are going to be gone when job is done and the locals that are being ignored by staff...would be the ones that you will rely on for your business to survive. Was not a good experience. Food was warm but bland. I don't know how to explain the food as it was very messy and lacked any flavor or color. The staff was very nice and the manager did come around and check on everyone. However did nothing when I said the food was not up to the standard I felt it should be. So I didn't leave a large tip and will not be returning. Maybe I just got a bad first impression as this was the first time I have gone here. read more

From out of town and stopped in with a friend who lives in area. I have not been there previously so don't have the feelings about the change that some locals might. I thought the food was really good, loved the decor (seemed a bit out of place for area tho) but the bar stools were SO high, I could barely get up on it. Terrible food... overly salty. Take the time to drive to Waynesboro for decent food.

Met up with a group of friends there. Originally it had dim lighting & the music was low. Was not greeted by anyone. Some friends were already there. Went up to bar to ask if we could add another table & chairs, but was ignored. We moved them ourselves. Finally came to ask for drink order & gave us menus. We were waiting for more friends, but she finally brought our drinks & took our food order. Then the lights were turned off just about everywhere except the bar & the volume turned way up! A new server came to our table to take more drink orders. We requested some light. She said she would check, but we remained in the dark. After 50 minutes I went to bar & asked original server if I would ever get my food since I had already turned down someone else's order. She asked if I had ordered. I replied about an hour ago. She walked away without a word. Only a few of us at table got food. We inquired again. Hour & 1/2 after I ordered, I got my food. Another couple never got their food. Some reordered. One person had to leave with food & drink halfway because another engagement. The food & drinks were good, but the service was absolutely ridiculous. They apologized , but clearly they were understaffed and had many opportunities to do better. Bar service appeared to be better because they couldn't ignore you there. Most of us will not ever return. Just very sad because there are not many options to eat out here. read more

I've eaten here several times now and it's been great every time. The staff is cheerful and friendly. The atmosphere (especially since the Food Network treatment) is fun and upbeat with a classy element. The food is excellent and presented well. I highly recommend the Fried Pickles, the Andouille Mac and Cheese and the burger. I haven't had the ribeyes yet, myself, but I've heard some rave reviews. If I have to say anything bad about the place, it's this: 1. It's a bit off the beaten path, unless you work at the nearby Nuclear Power Plant. 2. The parking lot is in a poor state, from years of neglect. I hear that it's on the "to-do" list though. Besides, who goes places to hang out in the parking lot? I certainly wouldn't let it deter you from a visit. read more

Extremly overpriced and mediocre flavors. Burger presentation is rediculous. Staff is poorly trained and slow. They should have listened to the folks who tried to help them. Good Luck when Vogtle 3 & 4 are finished - you'll never get a local following. read more
