I rented a 12' PODS unit for two months. The door closed itself several times, once with me in the POD. I called the PODS call center three times and asked for this to be fixed. I haven't actually used PODS to move anything. My only experience with them has been to call for a quote. After that, I decided it wasn't a company that I wanted to do business with. They rep was initially professional and considerate; answering most of my questions. By the end of the phone call (after I told him I was still in the process of getting quotes and needed stay within a budget), he turned into a different person. He was rude and impatient...even adding a smirky laugh when I told him I was still considering doing the move myself. Then he cut me off mid-sentence and said 'here's your quote number' and ended the call. Wow. My pods experience started out great, super friendly people on the phone. Then it came time to deliver my pod- I called three times begging for a morning delivery because I had setup appointments in the afternoon. They told me they couldn't promise but it shouldn't be a problem. I called to check in on delivery time the day before and they said they would call with the delivery time by 6pm. I explained I needed to know no later than 6pm as it was the latest I could cancel my movers. 6pm, 615, 625 no phone call. Finally I called them to check the window, turns out it's for the late afternoon and there was nothing they could do to help me change the time or help me fix the fact I had movers coming and wasn't able to cancel before the 6pm window. I will never use them again and will make sure everyone I know doesn't use them as well. read more

Do not use this company; completely unreliable. I thought they were nationwide and had a good reputation. When one is moving one expects that deliveries will be timely., since there is so much at stake. I just got off the phone with a nice lady at PODS. She could not help in anyway. After a 40 min. wait to speak to an operator (I also had to wait 50 mins to speak to an operator yesterday, because PODS sent two conflicting e-mails), the "customer service representative" said that she finally got to talk to a manager. WE MOVE TOMORROW. The delivery that was scheduled between 12:45 and 3:45 today, is two hours late right now. It is 5:30 PM on the day before we move. I was told by the driver who just got around to calling me that he would be there in a half hour. I was told by the customer service representative that the driver would have to turn around dive about an hour away to pick up the second POD, then bring it back to us. It is the end of the day and rush hour. This means we can expect delivery at 7 or 8 tonight. If you are moving DO NOT TRUST PODS. Moving is hard enough. Having to work with unreliable idiots, who won't answer a phone, and don't know how to fix a business that is terrible is even worse. I asked them to refund one of the delivery charges or get a scathing review on YELP. They took the scathing review. These are not sour grapes. These people are crazy making. read more

I LOATHE Pods. I wish ZERO stars was an option. In fact, they deserve NEGATIVE stars. THEY WERE HORRIFIC. I would literally move my stuff across the country via horse drawn wagon before ever use their services again. They didn't even ship my things UNTIL 3 WEEKS AFTER they were supposed to. On top of that, they put in the wrong delivery zip code, and were going to take an additional 2 WEEKS to deliver. So I told them to cancel delivery and I would rent a truck and get my things myself. They said that the office closed at 3:30pm and that was the last time I could access my POD. I got to the office at 2:30pm, and the office was dark...THEY LEFT EARLY. I had to take a day off work, rent a truck and drive 2 HOURS to get my things on monday otherwise they were going to charge me the rate for an extra month - $2000!!!! EVEN THOUGH THE POD BEING LATE WAS THEIR FAULT! In addition, the refund department guaranteed they'd get in touch with me within 5 days of my request. It's been 15 days, and I just got an email that they are refusing to pay me back. I recommend using any other option before PODS. You will regret it. read more

If you are considering doing business with this company DON'T!!! I don't have time to type all of my complaints so I'll just list a few: Every month PODS tries to charge a visa card for my invoice, although I mail money orders. PODS has someone's credit card information on my account and refuses to remove it. I get assessed late fees because they hold my money order until past the due date before they process them. My September 2017 invoice was due on the 12th. My invoice was printed on the 13th and post marked the 14th. I live in Oregon and they are sending the bills from Florida. I spoke with a "Precious" today, she said now bills are generated the day before they are due. If I was not so diligent in paying my bills I would be assessed a late fee every month. Although hurricane Irma caused them to process my payment late they are still attempting to force me to pay the late fee. BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! IF YOU DO YOUR WILL REGRET IT! All customer service representatives need to be more empathetic and trustworthy. Most importantly in a time of need they need to process all refunds in a timely manner. I was promised a refund in 3-5 days. I did not receive a refund until I called numerous times. To be exact I received a refund 9 days later. This was not a planned move. A tornado hit my home and totaled my car. This refund was very important to me. I was relying heavily on the funds being back in my account during the 3-5 day time frame. Being that this was an unexpected event money was very tight. I spoke with a very rude individual named Tray in the Billing Department in Clearwater Florida. Tray should be removed from this department immediately. He threated to hang up the phone on me if I kept speaking over him. During a time in my life where I was surrounded by disaster PODS was not there to put my mind at ease. PODS didn't process my refund until I called and reminded them to. PODS doesn't have staff that are capable of being empathetic or courteous. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I scheduled a delivery of an empty POD in NWA. I packed the POD and it was delivered and picked up on time as I vacated my home. I spoke with the customer service representative regarding access to the POD while it was in storage and he remarked it would be stored in a facility in Little Rock AR which is in close proximity to my new location. Five WEEKS later, I call to schedule a delivery to my new home and I was told that because the POD was being stored in a facility in NWA, it would be 10 business days until my POD could be delivered since it was a long-distance move (mind you, I provided the address in Little Rock where I would be moving to when I made the initial appointment for delivery of the empty POD). Furthermore, the customer service rep advised that since I never scheduled a facility-to-facility move, it was my fault there was a delay in delivery. Why would I know to schedule a facility to facility transfer when I was told there was only one facility in Arkansas and I didn't know the NWA facility existed? Why would I want my POD stored in NWA when I was moving to LR and there is a storage warehouse in LR? Now, I'm going to be living in an empty house with no furniture and as a injured combat veteran that is a undesirable proposition. I'm going to file a complaint with the VA, VFW, and American Legion and encourage all military personnel: Active Duty, Reserves, and Retired to utilize another company for their moving needs. Hopefully, the revenue lost will make PODS re-think their customer service and business model. read more

We had a very large problem with the pickup from the house we sold - two months ago. The current Problem - Our delivery date was scheduled for 7/20/18, however, PODS said they misplaced the container at the incorrect storage unit and won't provide a new delivery day. I hired movers for 7/20 and they will be seeking compensation from me. PODS literally can't even function as a company. Customer service is on a tiny leash and given no authority to escalate situations. The real problem is the storage locations. Customer service called the storage manager 10ish times on 7/20 (move day) and no one answered. Customer service calls the storage manager today (Saturday 7/21), and the storage manager responds with, "it was stored at the wrong location"... How is that the customers problem PODS? Fix your mistakes PODS.... How am I supposed to schedule time off work to move the contents of the POD again? read more

We called PODs on June 19th to have their POD picked up from our residence. PODs notified us that they are busy and the POD would not be able to be picked up until July 5th, My husband questioned this because we did not want to be charged the $313 to keep it longer than the scheduled date of June 22nd. PODs assured us that we would not be charged the $313 because we called before June 22nd and it was their fault that it would not be able to be picked up. On June 22nd $313 came out of our checking account. My husband again called PODs to notify them o the mistake and Rodriguez with PODs assured us that it was their mistake and he would promptly return our $313 to our account. A week later they still have not refunded our account and the POD is still sitting in our driveway. My husband again called PODs and this time they were very rude. After talking with 5 people and a supervisor we have now been informed we will not receive our money back until 3-5 business days until after they pick up the POD. MY husband questioned that the money was never supposed to come out of the account in the first place and they all stated that this was policy. On the PODs website it states that any money mistakenly taken out of any account will be refunded up to three days, it states nothing about the POD having to be picked up. We are NOT the ones who asked for an extension, they stated they were busy and would not have someone out to pick it up until later, the POD has been sitting empty in our driveway since the 18th. I would reccomend no one EVER use PODS. I ordered a POD 3 weeks ago to be delivered on Friday the 23rd. We are moving and had a crew coming Sat morning to help us move everything out. My card was charged and I received confirmation that the POD was going to be delivered between 6pm and 9pm that night. 9:30 comes and there is no POD so we call the 1800# to see how late the driver would be there. We are eventually told that there are no available PODS and the earliest delivery is on the 27th!!! We received no phone call or no notification that we were not getting a POD on the 23rd. People took off of work to help us move on Sat the 24th since we have to be out by the 30th and PODS just left us stranded!!! The woman talked me into rescheduling the delivery on the 27th because "it's based on availability" and to guarantee I have one I need to reschedule. Which I must ask- what was the point of me scheduling the POD 3 weeks in advance then??? I was told someone would contact me in the morning and "try to fit us in". No one called. In the meantime- we arranged an alternative since Sat was the only day we had to move. When I called to cancel, the woman over the phone tells me "well it didn't come because you're not scheduled until the 27th!!!!!" And then she insisted my card was never charged when I was looking at the charge on my account. WTF!!!! PODS is totally unreliable, unprofessional, and the worst company to use. When I scheduled my move out of state, the customer service I received was excellent! When I called to cancel the move, the customer service was horrific to say the least. I spoke with "DON" who passes himself off as a supervisor, and apparently pretends that he is the only supervisor that one could talk to, can only be described as a rude bully in my brief experience with his terrible customer service and attitude.. He went out of his way to be as unhelpful to me as possible to perform a simple task -- canceling an order due to a change in plans. I will be moving but not out of state, and will definitely cross PODS off the list. Proceed with caution. For the amount PODS charges for their services, one should expect much better customer service. read more

Overcharged us for delivery. Also, after 5 days into month they will NOT prorate because you have to pay for FULL month storage. Furthermore, if they come back out to move POD because they placed it in wrong area or because of inclement weather, they will charge a $125 moving fee. I have used PODs twice. The moving experience with them was good. On the last move we experienced water damage on a 1 yr old $2000.00 mattress and box spring. They tell you at the beginning that you have 10k worth of insurance. I called the claims line on a Saturday with the answering machine telling me I would receive a call back with in 72 hrs. 72hrs had gone by and I called again late Monday. I was told that the 72 hrs started during regular business hours Monday through Friday. The message didn't say that and the CS rep on the other end told me I was wrong. On that Monday I talked with 2 people telling me I would here from someone in 72hrs so the process started all over again. 8 days later I had to call and ask again where my call was and I demanded someone capable of making decisions. That didn't happen nor was a call from a supervisor offered. Again, I was told that there was no such thing as a 72 call back and they were very busy! On the 9th day their insurance company contacted me and left me a message. I called Cindy back with in 15 minutes and it went to voice mail. 6 days later I got an e-mail from Cindy that she had not heard back from me (she must not listen to her voice messages) so unless I had something else to say she was considering the case closed. I immediately sent her an e-mail and she sent me a form with case # to complete with pictures. I sent 10 plus pictures showing the damage and where the POD leaked. 6 weeks later I get a letter stating : Due to the fact that the damage was water they referred me to exclusion # 4 Water Damage and its a long exclusion they will not be able to process our claim. My sister is getting ready to move and I suggested PODs to her. They were going to need 3ea 16' PODS. I will call her back and tell her to look at others before she makes this decision. I can't believe I spent 10k on the 2 moves and am treated not only by PODs customer service the way I was, but now with a claim they denied I wouldn't suggest them to anyone. I am also taking this to the Better Business Bureau and let them know as well. read more

Very poor, dishonest customer service. They provide absolutely no written documentation sent to your home. If you are moving, and you have no internet access, you cannot pull up their policies. They provided me with misinformation, recorded on their line, about their refund and cancellation policy when I had to cancel service on the day of my move. I had no internet or computer access on that day, so I could only rely on the information that their agent provided me over the phone on that day. When I filed a complaint, they resolved it in their favor by stating that I had been read the cancellation policy over the phone 2+ months earlier when I had signed up for the POD. I had to call them multiples times over many weeks to resolve the complaint, and was told to call back in another week every time. When I finally complained about this -- that I felt I was getting the run-around -- I was met with very rude treatment, and abrupt closure of my complaint (again, in their favor). I will definitely not be recommending PODS to anyone I know in the future. read more

Giving this unethical, horrendously-run company one star is one star too many. Bottom line, this company left me high-and-dry on my move day AND - to add insult to injury - they proceeded to automatically charge me a $75 cancellation fee that they NEVER PREVIOUSLY DISCLOSED. The driver that "attempted" to deliver my storage container was 3 hours late. When he arrived, he said my driveway didn't look big enough and I had 15 minutes to "figure it out." Totally unacceptable, rude and uncalled for. Even though I clearly stated my driveway dimensions on my online reservation form AND called their customer service department TWICE to make sure my driveway was big enough, the driver simply would not cooperate. He was completely unhelpful. When one of their reps called to inquire about what happened, he flat out called me a liar and said I never disclosed my driveway dimensions. I'd love to write more but I've already spent enough time haggling and dealing with their horrible customer service reps. One actually tried to bribe me by saying they'd refund me $40 of the $75 cancellation fee AS LONG AS I DON'T WRITE A NEGATIVE REVIEW. Just shows you what kind of company this is. HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY! I found tons of other companies that offer the same kind of "service" that PODS is supposed to offer (just do a google search) -- use one of them! I am a Realtor, my client recently used PODS service. First time ever moving like this. First they asked her how many rooms, ok, she answered 3 bedrooms and 8000 lbs. No further questions about the weight or if it was just bedrooms or are there additional rooms. They recommended a 16 ft POD. For 8000 lbs? seriously..... I called the rep and they pulled the recording and admitted she said 3 bedrooms and 8000 lbs. How can a service rep not know how much actual weight a POD will hold? Well its not listed on their website by weight just by cubic storage. So even if you dived the cubes by the normal weight your at 4400 lbs.... Math 101. Even with that they still say the client is at fault we don't go by weight.... Hello ask a few more questions, not everyone on the planet is an experienced mover. They sent the recommended storage unit it was 1/2 of what she needed, trying to get the additional unit and the drop off and the pick up schedule was a nightmare. Left my client with no help to load a second pod that had to be dropped off the next day. She did get an apology for the inconvenience but that's nothing compared to the hassle of 2 older women trying to load a POD. Their customer service reps need to be better trained, trained to ask more pertinent questions and made more knowledgeable about the actual containers. I wish I could give this company zero stars. They are the WORST. I needed my pods redelivered as I had several heavy items and could not go to the facility with a truck to get them. I was told I had one more $9 redelivery and pickup within my 3 month bundle. Lo and behold, I rec'd several charges for redelivery and increased rental charges (to the tune of about $700) because Pods ASSUMED I was canceling my containers. I spent 4 days this week on the phone with Pods, each for 30-45 mins, trying to rectify the situation and get the charges reversed. Each person I spoke to said they rectified the situation and I had nothing more to worry about. Still today I got an email saying my pods would not be delivered because I had not paid the redelivery charges!! Another 30 minute phone call and allegedly my pods will be delivered tomorrow, however they would not give me any kind of confirmation number. You also cannot ever speak to a manager or supervisor. You just get bounced around between billing and customer service. No one checks your account for updated information. It is beyond frustrating. Avoid this company AT ALL COSTS. read more

POD pickup was a disaster. The container fell over and broke our in ground basketball goal and cracked our driveway! We ordered a POD container on 12/1/2005. It was delivered without incident. On 12/9/2015, the POD driver came back to pick it up. It was dark and he was having trouble making all of the wheels come up at the same time on the POD dolly. The hydraulics were not working properly. He kept trying and at one point got three wheels to lift the POD and the fourth wheel did not go up. The POD tipped over and smashed into our in ground basketball goal. The basketball goal kept the container from hitting the ground. Between the weight of his truck and the weight of the POD, there are multiple cracks in our driveway now. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video. The driveway repairs will cost $3000 to tear out and re pour the cracked portions and $1500 to replace the basketball goal. PODS REPRESENTATIVES LIED TO US REGARDING OUR UNIT BEING STORED IN A CLIMATE-CONTROLLED FACILITY!!! We ordered the PODS unit online and that was easy. We requested the PODS container and for it to be stored in climate-controlled facility. We contacted the Riverside PODS location and verified the unit would be stored in a climate-controlled facility. We were told the unit would need to go to Chino because the Riverside location did not have climate control. After the unit was packed and picked up, we contacted PODS in Riverside, and we were told the unit was being transported to Chino as we were speaking with the rep. The unit was stored for nearly a year. When we received the unit at our new home, we noticed on the paperwork, the storage location was in Riverside. WE WERE LIVID!! We stored expensive art in the unit. Nearly everything we owned was in the PODS unit. After unpacking all of the boxes which took more than just a couple of months, we found warped wood, the art had browning around the edges, and a couple of things were melted. All though we had insurance, it didn't seem to matter to PODS. Nothing was replaced or paid for. Absolute LIARS!!!!! read more

I have never had a more awful experience with another company in my life. I rented a pod when my mother passed away in July 2016. I requested the pod to be picked up in November 2016. Was not able to get in touch with anybody. I received a phone call in December staring my unit was in "auction status" and that they would be picking it up on Monday. Monday came and went and I didn't hear from anybody. Now we are in March and I received an email from account manager VICKY COX stating that the unit was in auction status and I needed to pay. I responded to the email informing her of the circumstances, that I was not responsible for the past due balance of $560 and I have been waiting for the unit to get picked up for months. This was on a Friday. She had the unit picked up on Monday, then proceeded to ignore my correspondence in regards to the balance. Assuming that since she did not respond, it was taken care of, I was very surprised to receive another email from ASHLEY MILLER just this past week. I called and explained the situation to her, she said she would forward it to her supervisor and they would be in touch. I received no further correspondence from pods, however I just received a collection notice for $982.99! I attempted to reach out to pods and was transferred to a voice mail by MARIA, then called back and requested to not be transferred while speaking with CHRIS. He spoke over me then transferred me. When I called back I got him again and requested to speak with his supervisor. He argued with me stating that he was not rude then eventually transferred me to DOMINIQUE. She was the most helpful person I've spoken to so far. What I learned from her was that VICKY COX is the direct supervisor of ASHLEY MILLER. I was provided with direct extensions to both (that don't work). I left Vicky a voice mail and will be surprised if she returns my call. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THIS WAY IN MY LIFE. I am absolutely mortified that this company has pushed me around just to make money in a situation where I lost my mother and was not left with anything besides old furniture. How can a company stay in business by treating people this way? I am heartbroken that my unfortunate situation was taken advantage of so badly and now I owe almost double of something I already could not afford. Absolutely terrible. read more

I have NEVER had such a HORRIBLE experience with a company. They delivered a POD for temporary on-site storage and placed it illegally on the street. I received an impound notice from the city and called them to move the POD (which they could not do for several days). They returned to move it, waived the fee, but then informed me that their truck did not have the capability of putting in my driveway. When I called them back again to ask that the unit be picked up, they insisted on charging me for an additional month, since I was a couple of days over the first month (which was caused by their delay in scheduling). When I called to ask that they pro-rate and only charge me for the couple of days it was still on my property - they REFUSED. So, they made a mistake, took over a week to correct, they could not correct it, and charged me an extra month for their delay and incompetency - $200 more than their confirmation email. The reps were condescending and indifferent. How do they stay in business??? This is the first review I've written, but I will go out of my way to make sure that other people are not deceived or ripped off. WHAT A SHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible company!!! How are they still in business?? Horrible customer service. Spent hours on hold being transferred all over. I think that is the game -- hoping you give up on trying to get the unapproved charges back. Received multiple unapproved charges they can't explain but won't credit back. Managers tell me (and my credit card co) they will call back and they don't call back. Finally filed a dispute with my credit card company. At this point, I consider my property stolen as they said it would be here hours ago. I called multiple times to find out where it is and when it will be here and no one can answer that! At 8pm I am driving to the police station to report it stolen. I wish to God I had read the reviews on pods. The negative reviews are 100% accurate to what I experienced. This company took hours of my life from me at a time when I should have been with my sick loved one. I used U-Pack previously. No issues with them, outstanding customer service, no incorrect charges. I highly discourage anyone from using this incompetent company. Worst customer service! My story goes like this. Ordered 2 PODS and realized the day of loading that I was going to need another one. I called PODS and requested a new container and the call lasted for two hours and fifteen minutes. I also scheduled the pickup for all the PODS after loaded and was assured all three would be stored in Montgomery, AL, which would be the closest storage facility that would deliver to my new address in Auburn, AL. The technician told me to just call about three days before I needed them delivered to the new address and there wouldn't be any issue. There was a big issue. They didn't store my PODS in Montgomery, they stored them in Birmingham and claimed they needed five days for transit and three day for logistics. I spoke to three or four supervisors and nobody could do anything to get my PODS on the day I requested. They did say that if my PODS would have been stored in Montgomery like they said there would not have been any issue. THEIR FAULT! So they put in an account review and some guy called and stated they lost the 2:15 min call I had with them. He credited my account $100 dollars and said basically take it or leave it and he didn't have to give me anything. So I accepted I was getting my PODS on the earliest date they said. I moved my entire family down the day prior because all three PODS were scheduled to be delivered. They only delivered two of the three and stated the other one was never scheduled. I asked if someone could just please contact the Birmingham facility and see if they can make an exception and deliver it the next day but was met with the standard "that is not our policy or procedure". I had to drive my family back to my parent's house to stay with them for another week because the one POD they didn't send is the one with all of our furniture. It is taking them nine additional days to deliver my last POD and I'm having to take more vacation time off to unload it. They also charged me for and extra month of storage because due to their mistake the PODS were in storage for more than 30 days and they don't prorate monthly storage fees. I will never use this company again. They have ONE job, to deliver/store PODS and they can't even do that right. WHEN they make a mistake, and they will, they will not fix it. They will tell you to submit and account review and someone will get back to you in 3-5 days. Not one time did I call them and spend less than an hour on the phone. If you ask for a supervisor, they put you on hold for half hour and then come back on stating they are busy. read more

This is my first Yelp review. I was so disappointed with the organization of Pods that I felt it was necessary to share my experience. The delivery of the Pod, and pick up after we were done unloading it were timely, that was the only positive part of our experience. We called to check on the delivery date of the Pod to our new home, and they just couldn't find it/didn't know where it was! It took them days to figure out where it was, and why it was missing. I guess they had our account number wrong... This all happened between May and July of 2016. We paid for our services during at time, and figured that was that. Fast forward to January 2017, we get a collection notice in the mail saying we owe close to $400 to Pods! They never once emailed us or called to tell us about this. My husband called the next day, and Pods said it was a billing error, and not to worry about it. They sent a confirmation email stating this as well. I'm hoping this misunderstanding is actually resolved, and we don't have to deal with their disorganization anymore. read more

If I could give this company ZERO Stars, I would. Absolutely no respect or common courtesy for people when parking their PODS. There is a POD parked blocking my garage AND my neighbor's garage, neither of which belongs to their customer. Apparently they thought it was OK to park there because their customer asked them to? Never mind the inconvenience to the neighbors, or the fact that the whole alley that the garages open to is a no parking zone. My repeated attempts to contact PODS since it appeared 5 days ago have been completely ineffective. I'm told the customer is being uncooperative about moving it, but I don't see why their reps have to a) lie to me about when its getting picked up, or b) hang up on me. I have a right to be irritated that I don't have proper access to my garage. Several of their reps have actually told me they can't believe how nice I'm being under these circumstances, while others have been completely rude and nasty to me, going so far as to actually hang up on me. This is completely unacceptable. I always thought the POD was a neat idea, however, now I will NEVER use their services, and have asked everyone I know to do the same. read more

I love the concept of PODS and really wish it was run professionally, but unfortunately it is rife with "gothca's" and nickle and dime efforts to extract more from you than you had signed up for. Firstly, they do not tell you that they won't pro-rate for unused monthly charges, if you need one more day, or if they are unable to pick-up on a day then you get billed for a whole month. Secondly, if you put the POD in inside storage for even one day and then move it out for many months they will always charge you the inside storage rate, even though you may have it in your own driveway. If you are like me and then contact them to ask about the charges you will probably get told something like this (these are direct quotes from them), "we can charge what we want", "I don't know where it says that in the contract, it doesn't matter, our contract says we can change billing whenever we want", "it's not that much money anyway", "if it spends one day in our storage unit we can charge you that rate for every month after that, that's just how we do it", by charging you just one rate, every month, even if it's not for a full month we are making it easy for you". Such a shame, this is not just my experience, there are pages and pages of similar complaints.. Disappointing. read more

I thought it would be great to try a POD for my mother's move from WV near me in PA. She has no apartment to move to yet, but needs to vacate where she currently lives. I thought this would save me the storage unit costs and the truck rental cost and would be well worth the extra expense. The POD was due to be delivered to her house tomorrow, so I scheduled loaders for the day after tomorrow. I also had my days off from work very carefully scheduled. I knew I would receive a call today telling me what time of day tomorrow the POD would be delivered. HOWEVER, the call I received from PODS told me that they couldn't deliver tomorrow, on Friday, but they could deliver on Monday! Now this might work if you're just loading a POD by yourself at your leisure, but for me, this was unacceptable. I'm renting a UHaul and doing it myself. We'll have to rent a storage unit and load and unload an extra time. I've cancelled the POD, and am anxiously awaiting the refund on my credit card! read more

I ordered a POD to be delivered on Friday, May 20th and received a call saying it was going to be delivered in the next half hour but was never delivered. I called the 800 number at 4pm on Friday and was told to give it some more time as they do not always deliver within the window stated and at 8 pm I called again to once again tell them that no pod had been delivered. I called once again at 8 am and was told they were checking and would email the assigned facility and heard nothing back and called again at 11 am and again at 1 pm, each time spending at least a half hour or more on the phone. The outcome was that they were not going to be able to deliver a pod to me until May 25, 2016 when I had originally scheduled one for May 20th weeks in advance. They offered no discount or any other reasonable solution and did not know what happened to the pod that was supposed to be delivered. I told them that my pod should have been the first to be delivered on the 21st as it was not delivered on the 20th and their best solution was May 25th. What a joke! And no one was around on Saturday to tell them what happened to the pod. I would NOT recommend this company. Needless to say I canceled my order and schedule with a competitor for less money also. read more

Terrible customer service! We rented a pod...they couldn't fit it in our driveway. So we pruned back trees and bushes and measured it out. The driver tried again to deliver. She was fine but said it would have to go on the street and that it wouldn't be a problem, we just needed a permit from the city. We obtained said permit only to be told they still couldn't put it on our street. The person we spoke with would not let us talk to a supervisor and was incredibly unhelpful. There is no way to send a complaint to their office that I could find on their website and no good reason for them not to drop it off...we had permission from the city and THEIR driver told us it would be no problem. What a waste of time we didn't have!!! Finally went with Smartbox and they've been incredibly helpful...their staff got right back to us and were helpful in every way and have no problem dropping the boxes off! read more

I used Pods for a move from Washington DC to Mt. Pleasant Michigan. Pod was delivered and picked up fine, and I put it in storage for 4 months while I was out of the country. When I asked to have it delivered they informed me they would only deliver it as far as Lansing, I had to hire another mover to unload it there and take it to my house. That about doubled the cost. OK, what can you do? So, I requested it to be delivered to Lansing, they did, confirmed it was there and scheduled a date for me to access it. When I met the Allied Van crew there per schedule, they did not have my Pod (did not even know where it was), did not have a time scheduled and could not even find me in their records. I had to send the movers back, but pay them of course. Days later the Pod was finally found and I am waiting to have it delivered (again) and I have to scheduled Allied Vans to pick it up (again) and pay them (again). Perhaps the most gauling thing is that there was no communications between the two offices, I had to spend literally hours on the 800 number getting my records activated, requesting a search for the Pod etc. They seem friendly but very very inept. Can they spell logistics? Go with one of the established movers, they can do storage, moving, in fact anything Pods does for the same or less. Oh yes, I do not know what condition the contents is in yet, that may require another review. read more
