I have been in a nightmare process of selling my house and buying a new one . The only thing that has gone right is the pods process. They have done what they said they would when they said they would. On top of that we have had outstanding drivers from them like Karl who delivered my second pod for this move this past Friday. He was friendly and polite and wanted the pod to be exactly where we wanted it placed. I will continue to store my belongings with them until my new house is ready. The pod experience was good . Drivers were great. Billing was an issue. I had 1 day left on my monthly rental and was done looking to return it asap so I don't get charged an extra month ($179.00) I went on the website and I could not get a pick up for 3 days. Which would have put me over my month limit. But I scheduled in enough time and it was on them to pick it up. The end of my month comes and my credit card is charged $298.00 and $64.00. So I call Pods and ask what the!!. The nice lady tells me that since I returned within "their" 3 day grace period I would not be charged the $298. The $64 was for the pick up fee. Which I thought was covered by the $79 they charged me when it was dropped off. So I had to eat that. 3 days later my credit card now had processed the $298 and I had to be on the phone for 15 minutes waiting for an other nice lady to issue a refund. I had asked why was the month fee now $298 instead of $179. Of course she sited the $179 was a 1st month promotional fee and regular monthly rent is $298 So I warn future customers to throughly read the fine print. I read the invoice but the little details they added I missed and that can cost you. Lastly the pod leaked. If I had not taken precautions with my dining room table. Point the finger at other departments and blame me for not inspecting the POD well enough when I received it. Recommend avoiding at all costs. This has been one of the most frustrating and disruptive moving experiences I've ever had. My issues began when PODS repeatedly confirmed that same-day delivery and pickup from a Public Storage location was fully supported in my area. I planned my entire move around those confirmations. On the day of the move, I was informed--far too late--that this service was not available in my location. Because the pod was required to leave that same day, I was forced into an emergency situation and had to hire a moving company and truck at the last minute just to transport my belongings to their facility. This cost me roughly $800, caused major work disruption, and wasted an entire day. PODS later attempted to classify this as a "standard mover cost," which is simply untrue--it was a direct result of their misinformation. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. Since then, PODS has now failed to deliver my container twice. The first failed delivery was blamed on the area not being wide enough. I took this seriously and had shrubs removed and the space widened to accommodate their requirements. On the second delivery attempt, there was: * No phone call * No delivery window * No notice whatsoever I only received a generic email saying they "attempted delivery and couldn't." When I contacted customer support, I was then told they couldn't reach the storage facility--despite no one attempting to contact me at all. Now I am actively moving into my home, after weeks of planning specifically around having the container available on arrival. Instead, I'm being told I must wait an additional three days to receive my pod after I've already arrived due entirely to PODS' internal failures. This experience reflects a pattern of negligence, poor communication, and lack of accountability. Information is repeatedly confirmed and then reversed. Delivery attempts happen without coordination. I scheduled a PODS container for delivery on May 15th (today as I write this). I confirmed the address with one of the agents three days ago that they will deliver it to a storage unit, and that there is a 10' clearance. They confirmed they will send the notes to the driver. I never received a delivery time from PODS the night before, so I assumed I would get it this morning. I still never got a delivery window, yet on my account it is stated that it will be delivered today. I have movers scheduled to load the PODS container and have informed the storage unit front office about my move out. I also had three different people dropping off stuff to the storage unit to be loaded into the PODS container. All of this with an expectation that a PODS container will be delivered today. I call PODS and tell them I have not received any updates on delivery and am concerned. I was then told the container could not be delivered. I ask why, and they stated it was because it was a business address and that the clearance is too low. I asked why I have not been notified of this, and was met with confusion from the agent as well. He gave me an option where the driver brings the PODS container to the address and stays there, and within a four hour window we load the container, and then the driver leaves with the container. They then go on to say that they will be able to do this on Tuesday, and not only that, but they will charge me $700. This entire move out was time sensitive and I cannot wait until Tuesday. This is absolutely unacceptable, and to charge me an additional $700 for a mistake on them? I wasted my movers times and I wasted the storage unit and other peoples time, and now to have eat the cost of hiring movers. I did not personally contract with PODS in Mesa, Arizona, but there was a POD container on the driveway when I took possession of my home. During removal of the container, the driver left large swivel tire marks across my driveway while I was present and witnessed it happen. When I contacted the regional manager, Steven, regarding the damage, PODS refused to take any responsibility. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue professionally, including requesting escalation to someone higher within the company, my concerns were dismissed and no resolution was offered. My advice to anyone considering PODS: read the fine print carefully. In response to sending an email to the social media email, they don't reply either. It's a waste of time. absolutely horrendous!! had to get a real supervisor on the phone he tried to help but couldn't finish it because there was already an incident report on going that Marissa couldn't be bothered responding to me. she was told to call me, but instead she emailed and oh guess what, she's ignoring me. I was put on hold for 20 minutes before I hung up because Alex just left me hanging without coming back. they have the distance wrong and tried to blame me. when I know I told them where I was going. I asked to hear the recording, no response from Marissa. trying to get someone on the phone or text or chat is impossible. and the social media email is no help either because they don't even care either, just more ignoring. no help. they are holding my stuff and not living up to the agreement, it's time to reach a lawyer. If you want good clear communications and scheduling, I highly suggest you look else were. Moving is a stressor on its own. You will add significant stress if you try to communicate or schedule a move with PODS. There communication is near zero and you consistently get the same script no matter who you talk to everyday. I wish I could give them a negative review. This was THEE worst moving experience I have ever been through and I've moved 17 times in my life. One, they don't pick up on weekends?! Um what. Most people work and move on weekends! Two, highly unprofessional and rude. Three, you need to make TWO separate appointments when picking up... one to pick up and another to drop off... so incredibly inconvenient and there's nobody there to walk you through the process when they drop off or when you order the POD. They refused to drop off the POD because we have a small driveway? This is LA... not many people have a giant driveway. It's a normal sized driveway no smaller than the one they dropped off, in fact it's longer. They wanted to charge us an EXTRA $600 to have their guy pull up on the street and we have to unload in four hours... otherwise we have to pick up everything from their facility. Which defeats the entire purpose of the POD. Not only that, we were told by one person that they will make it happen, just to have another person call the next day, saying sorry you need to pick up or pay the $600 on top of the $600 it was to rent it to begin with. Several days ago I booked a same-day drop-off and pick-up for Monday, November 3, 2015. Today, Saturday November 1, 2025 your scheduling department called to say your Los Angeles facility can no longer provide same day service and that PODS must reschedule for drop off on November 3 and pick-up November 4. Do not use this company! We recently used them for a move & water leaked into the pod that ruined 2 couches that ruined them both. We contacted Pods Customer Service & they claimed no responsibility even though their recommended movers showed us the water puddles in the unit. Additionally the completely underestimated the job advising us we only needed 1 pod when we actually needed 2 - which doubled the price. We are now considering legal action against them Just an update on this review. Don't use this company, it will save you. I have been charged for a storage container that I did not order and I did not use, my roommate did. Because we lived at the same address and he left and didnt pay his bill, they now have added his bill to my unit I have had stored with them since I've been in the hospital. I have a contract for my unit and his unit is not on my contract, and I never signed a contract for his unit. I refused to pay his bill so they are saying they will sell my stuff to pay for his bill.If I want to sue them for the money I must take them to court in Florida, and they are sure I won't do that, so I better pay it, or lose my stuff. I have been in communication via email and phone for the past 6 months trying to take care of this problem. They say that the charge has been taken off, but the next month I find out the charge wasn't taken off and a new charge was on my cc. The person I spoke with in the Philippines,all calls are forwarded out of the country, she tells me I cant talk to anyone in the U.S. at their headquarters in Florida and refuses to give me their number. I have dozens of emails and phone conversations, but today when I called and emailed she says she has no idea what I'm talking about and played like it was the first time I've ever talked to her. I'm sure she found out they are falsely charging me ,but just doesn't want to admit it. In previous emails she says she cant show me the contact he signed because my name is not on it. What???? Then why am I being charged!!! But she made sure to tell me they will continue to charge me. Stay away from this company. I haven't even received my pod yet, and the entire process has been a complete mess. When I booked, the agent assured me that as long as my pod was picked up by November 24, they could schedule delivery for December 6. She mentioned the system was showing December 12, but told me it would be no problem to change it and that she was already working with her manager to correct it. When the date still hadn't been updated, I called today for an update and everything completely changed. I was then told that PODS suspends operations for an entire week for Thanksgiving, something their own employee apparently wasn't aware of. As a result, not only was the December 6 delivery impossible, but even the December 12 date shown on their website was no longer an option, and my delivery was pushed back even further. To make matters worse, even though my account was placed on a special hold in their system, the agent I spoke with today tried to gaslight me by insisting there were no notes and therefore they couldn't confirm anything I had previously been told. This has created a huge logistical mess with movers at my destination and has made an already stressful process even more overwhelming. I arranged a PODS delivery to our storage facility under the discount from Cisco. The first PODS arrangement was successful, so I thought. I realized the POD wasn't as big as I assumed so I placed an order for a second one, only to find out the first PODS container was not reserved correctly and the representative misled me on the pricing by not informing me he had us renting the container for a month after the we emptied the container. I informed them that was not the plan to rent an empty container because we would no need for it after it being emptied and that I was not aware of the terms. To reserve the second pod, we had to change our original contract and caused us an additional $500 from from what we were originally quoted. We were kind of stuck because they had our belongings in the first container already. After the delivery of the first container, which was delayed due to snow, they attempted to charge us for redelivery. We paid for all of the mileage and and delivery only to receive several statements that we now owe $1106 for mileage delivery, storage and redelivery. BOTH PODS HAVE BEEN PICKED UP. We were told if the first POD was picked up before the 26th of February then we would not be charged storage. The POD was picked up on February 16th. The second was delivered on the 24th of February and picked up on the 25th. This was arranged with representative each time to avoid the drama and foolery I dealt with before. Needless to say, I have nothing for of PODS. Their customer service is subpar. One representative argued with me, they would never allow me to speak to a manager, never transfer me to stateside to speak to another representative. If you can rent a U-Haul or use another service, I recommend it. I will not use PODS nor recommend to my family. My sister is moving from one state to another and I told her to avoid PODs. They frustrate an already stressful time, by not being honest with their pricing and services. They are ambiguous with their terms and conditions when scheduling your POD and taking your first payment which locks you into their tangled web of surprise charges and payments as they hold your POD for ransom. I called to cancel my reservation and was provided a discount to keep it. I asked if there would be any additional charges at the end of our call and was told no. Additional charges were added to my credit card so I called PODS to dispute. I received an automatic response via email referring back to my original contract. I was also told both pods would be delivered in my driveway because I had the clearance to do so. My second pod was delivered in the street and was told by the delivery driver it was common for the sales people to tell you they will fit to finish the sale. I feel scammed for multiple reasons due to the dishonesty of the sales people and lack of support from the company. I would not recommend this company. read more

Everything about PODS was smooth until pick up time of the empty PODS at our new house. When the full ones were delivered to our new house my husband was asked where he would like the full ones to be placed. My husband suggested near the garage doors so most items could be brought in through the attached garage. At no time was the placement questioned by the driver or a suggestion made stating they should be put in a different location. My husband asked s not a moving expert and we hired PODS to be the experts. We had 16x8x8 PODS . The last driver picking up the last POD immediately began having problems getting the POD onto his trailer. My husband suggested a different way to do it and offered the equipment to do it. The driver told him it was his job and he would do it. He also said the PODS should not have been in the spots they were in. As the driver continued to struggle with the POD and my husband saw it was beginning to damage our yard he once again offered a suggestion and equipment in order not to further damage our yard. The driver became agitated and ordered my husband to stop by I by invite him advice and to let him do his job. We will now have to hire a yard expert repair all the deep ruts in our yard. We filled a damage. PODS denied it saying my husband gave the instructions on where to place PODS and therefore they were not liable. We believe the drivers should have put the PODS in a location that would have enabled them to be picked up without damaging our yard. They are the experts not my husband. read more

The delivery person is an absolute asshole. Called 6am the day of the delivery, we agreed on the location and time of the delivery. Then during the delivery, they literally dumped the container in front of the driveway and left. When I called to ask what happened, the guy had an attitude and tried to say we agreed to put in front of the driveway. Worst customer service I have seen in a while. Update: Texted their customer service. Apparently their policy is even if the driver made a mistake, the customer needs to pay for the pod reposition. The conversation went from trying to fix the issues to the agent tried to sell me reposition request. Recommend strapping your stuff to the top of your car before using PODS. After changing the time window 5 times on my pick up date they no-showed. POD sat here for another 2.5 days before they came to get it. Despite repeated lengthy phone conversations (think 5 hours over 3 days) they refused to honor my original contracted delivery date to my new house. Delivery is now delayed an additional week beyond the contracted date. I will be staying in a hotel for a week waiting for my POD to be delivered and have lost my unloading help so will now have to hire someone. Do No Recommend ...... unless you enjoy chaos (not judging). read more

We used PODS to move cross-country from NY to CA based on the information they provided. At booking, we were explicitly told transit would take 3-10 days. That information was wrong. Pickup was a mess from the start. No call, no text, no email with an arrival window the night before. The next day, my wife had to call PODS directly to track the driver down, only to find out he'd been parked outside our building for 30 minutes without letting us know us. When asked if he had contacted anyone, his response was: "Oh my fault." No apology from the driver or PODS once we let them know. We lost paid loading time because of this. Now that we're in California, we requested delivery for December 27. We're being told that the earliest delivery is January 6, because PODS now claims cross-country delivery requires 15 days, directly contradicting what we were told when we booked. And here's the real problem: PODS is now trying to charge us for an additional full month of storage because their delayed delivery date falls just past renewal. We have already spent a significant amount on this move, and we're being told we may owe nearly $1,000 extra due to PODS' own misquote, with no apology, just "we need to investigate and see if you'll be charged." On top of that, because PODS can't deliver on the date we specifically chose, we'll likely have to unload the entire container ourselves. Friends and family are unavailable on the new date, which is exactly why we scheduled our delivery date in the first place. So now we wait in limbo, unsure whether PODS is actually going to charge us an extra $1,000 for their error, while taking zero accountability for the misinformation that caused this situation. This company has major communication failures and no urgency when their mistakes financially impact customers. If you use PODS, get everything in writing and assume you'll need to fight to avoid being charged for their problems. read more

Advertising states the largest pod will store a 3 bdr house. This is not even close. We had 2 days to move, pod arrived and only fit LR office and kitchen and not even the whole kitchen. This doesn't include any bedrooms or beds. We had to spend an additional $2500 on a pull trailer. My suggestion is rent a across country movers. It will be less expensive and they do the work. I highly do not recommend if you have alot of stuff or moving cross country. read more

Long story short- you'll probably be fine if you move from point A to point B. Don't try anything that requires a person's assistance, and expect the charges to add up quickly. This rating is specifically for the horrible automated customer service, and when you can reach a human, their responses are all scripted. My PODS were stored at a PODS facility for a few months. They needed to be delivered to a more permanent storage facility 550 miles away. The delivery time was assigned last night for today and my assigned time was for 7-8:30 am. The destination was a storage facility that didn't open until 9:00am. *PODS also states that they may not adhere to their schedule. Thankfully when the driver called in the morning, he was able to rearrange his schedule to accommodate the storage facility's hours. I am grateful to Larry for his patience and accommodation. Now I have to go through the process in reverse for the final container pickup. To accommodate a client with winter storm disruptions, my movers can't guarantee that they can unload my PODS before noon time on the container pickup day. There is no way to request from PODS an afternoon pickup. Multiple tries to fix this online and with a customer service rep were failures. They simply repeated their script that they couldn't do anything about it. For the cost of moving, storing, and final pickup, this shouldn't be an issue.
